  1. Yep, I sure would. Actually, I would probably start at 40-42 watts, but I also know the range where my sweet spot lies at that resistance and I know my equipment. It's all part of understanding the safe limits of the batteries, Ohm's law, etc. High wattage does not necessarily automatically equate to a hot vape. [emoji4] Sent from my heart using the Vapor Talk App. OK...OK...I'm kidding. I have no heart. But I did use the Vapor Talk Mobile App.

  2. Yes, the crackling is absolutely normal and I would actually be more concerned if there wasn't a crackling sound. What you are hearing is the coil heating the liquid and turning it into vapor. Much the same way water droplets or bacon fat will sizzle on a hot skillet, e-liquid will sizzle on a hot coil. If the coil wasn't crackling at all, then chances are you have a bad coil. It should be noted that e-liquid, airflow, the particular coil and the coil resistance you are using can all have an effect on how much "crackling" you hear. For instance in my Kanger tanks I get a lot of crackling, in my Aspire tanks, I get a little less. In my RTAs and RDA's, where I am building and wicking the coils myself, I get the least crackling. E-Liquids that are higher in PG seem to crackle less for me than liquids that are higher in VG, most likely because the PG is thinner and will burn more efficiently. Everybody will experience something slightly different based on their personal vaping preferences, though.

  3. I bought my first "real" vape also on 3/31/14... I bought an eGo-T 650mAh / CE4 starter-pack at the local vape shop (carry-case, two batteries, charger-kit, six clearomizers, and two 30ml bottles of juice)... a week later I had two more 1100mAh eGo-T's and upgraded to EVOD tanks... another week later I was rocking my first Pyrex tank... Kanger ProTank3-mini... and on my 4th week, I upgraded to an Innokin MVP 2.0, two KPT2, and two Aerotanks I tried cold-turkey, gum, patches, Chantix, and flirted with cigalikes for a while before buying a "real" vape product... and NOTHING worked like REAL vaping does!! I started vaping on 4/1/14 and have never had another smoke since then I'm over 2.5 years smoke-free, and NEVER felt better in my life. My fiance has been smoke free for just over 1.5 years.. and vaping is the ONLY thing that helped her quit!

  4. It was three years for me on August 14 (I remember the date because my mom was in the hospital with a blocked femoral artery, and there was concern that they couldn't find a big enough vein to use to bypass, and it was the day after her birthday). I had stopped smoking on June 27, but I slipped up on the 14th from the stress. I had exactly three cigarettes that day before sticking to my e-ciggy for good. There have been times where I've wanted to smoke, especially if I'm around other smokers, or reading and a character lights a cigarette, but I haven't done it.

  5. Welcome to VT! I have several charts with resistance/wattage, and there are hundreds on the Internet... What exactly are you looking for? I mean, are you looking for sweet-spots or are you looking for specific coil's range of Wattage? If the latter, you'll not find anything for that because the juice you use (PG/VG ratios and flavors) will affect how the coil performs, as well as the tank style... what tastes great in one tank/coil configuration may taste like wet socks in another tank/coil combo at the same Wattage setting... Every tank/coil/mod/juice combo has their sweet-spot, but they differ from person to person, even then, because all tastes are subjective

  6. Squid

    Cloud comp

Sorry to say, but cloud comps are hurting people that vape responsibly, IMO. I like a good cloud myself, but I generally use a rig and juice that don't produce clouds unless I am home. I used to smoke cigars, and could produce clouds very comparable to those pictured, granted a different technique. Vaping IMO is meant to get people away from smoking and the stigma attached to it. Most nonsmokers see vaping exactly the same as they do smoking due to the visual clouds. I can get my nic fix with barley any visual evidence, and no smell offensive to most. I vape a coffee flavor when at work as there is always a coffee maker or someone with a cup close, and make sure I am not around anyone that minds the minor cloud I make. To each their own, not judging, but had to comment.
