Chemicals linked with severe respiratory disease found in common e-cigarette flavors
Compenstine and one other reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
First red-flag... HARVARD... Second red-flag... Acronyms associated with Big-pharma/Big-tobacco/Big-government I trust no studies that are subsidized by tax-dollars or pharma/tobacco $$, especially those performed by liberal lap-dog universities...2 points -
I'm pretty confident this is another bogus rehashing of the same idea. I don't trust any reporting that doesn't give specifics. And once I saw "formaldehyde" on the list......that's a red flag because we already know formaldehyde isn't formed unless there is excessive heat applied. They could have easily targeted flavors that are already known to contain diacetyl. Who knows what they tested and under what conditions. But you can be sure this study was bought and paid for. It stinks. And of course, that's just my opinion, but, thanks to vaping, I can now smell a rat a mile away haha.1 point

Chemicals linked with severe respiratory disease found in common e-cigarette flavors

Not that I don't understand the danger in some chems, but "This study was supported by NIH/NIEHS Center Grant P30ES000002." and I would say that it my be slanted and bias. If this study had not been supported by agencies not in the pocket of big Pharma, I would look at it with less mistrust.1 point -
Ni200 is pure nickel. NICR is Nichrome which is a alloy, at least that's how I see it. Ni200 is used for temperature control and Nichrome is usually used in wattage mode.1 point

Im getting a tc regulated mod asap...maybe the evic vt1 point

I should also mention at this point that just because someone's using a regulated box mod doesn't mean that a battery won't vent if pushed too hard...Ohm's Law still applies. There's just more safety features in the circuitry of regulated mods to help prevent catastrophes.1 point

Sigelei silver dragon mod from kidney puncher. Vct4 is real based on those sites you sent. I always double check my coils and battery level with a multimeter and give plenty of headroom.1 point

Assuming that you fully understand Ohm's Law, if you are able to confirm your atty's .3Ω resistance with an ohmmeter, then that probably isn't the problem. The main thing is to make sure that your battery can put out more continuous amps than your load is pulling, and if you're unsure of your battery's legitimacy, then you can't know if it can do that. I personally avoid the Sony VTCs solely because there are so many fakes out there. As far as higher amp safety fuses, I really don't know of anything any higher than the VapeSafe. In fact, due to a venting battery a few months ago, I shelved all of my mechs in favor of regulated box mods. I've heard of quite a few mechs blowing up over the years, but I've yet to hear of a single regulated box mod popping. BTW...what mod are you referring to in the OP?1 point
-
One more thing...due to their limited availability and high price, Sony VTCs are probably the most faked/counterfeited batteries on the planet. The fakes could have decent cores, or they could be accidents waiting to happen. Many legit dealers have been fooled into stocking the fakes in the past (or so I've heard). Here's a link from BudgetLightForum.com that might help in distinguishing fakes from the real deal. Here's another informative article from Sun Vapers: http://www.sun-vapers.com/how-to-spot-a-fake-sony-vtc5-battery/1 point

Sorry...I didn't see the original post about the .3Ω load and Sony VTC4. I just saw the post about the mech mod. Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, the Smoke Vapesafe Fuse (if that's what you're using) is a 7A fuse, and .3Ω on a fresh (4.2v) battery is around 14A, so that's why it's cutting you off. As far as your other issues, I have no clue.1 point

what should i do?
jasonculp reacted to Compenstine for a topic
The only way to fix it would be to take it apart and I would not advise doing that. I have an eVic and it looks as though your screen has slipped down. As Tam said I would take it back to were you bought it and see if they will replace it. Not all screens are attached directly to the board some have a ribbon wire and the screen is mounted in a bracket. It could be the glue came loose allowing it to slide in the bracket. Or the bracket has come loose. I have not taken mine apart to know for sure that this is the issue. It could be a software glitch. Did it get dropped or bumped hard before this happened or has it been doing this since you first got it?1 point -
what is the most popular box mod for one single battery?
JESSIE LAISIMO reacted to Tam for a topic
Yep, what Earthling said. Plus, just because it's popular doesn't mean that it's the right one for you. Vaping is very subjective, only you will know which one works best for what you want.1 point -
what is the most popular box mod for one single battery?
alohaservedaily reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Hello Jessie, and welcome to VT! Popular? Why just the selection between those two? To me, neither are overly appealing, but the choice you make will be based on price, functions, size/feel, button-placement, and features (floating/adjustable pin, materials, color, etc.). You'll find that many of us here may agree that a particular device may suit the needs of the masses, but we also agree there is no "popular" or "must-have" device that everyone should own. What you should use, is based on your preferences and needs... not necessarily what is popular Also, I'll add... the battery you use in the device is very important... safety first! There are lots of recent threads with the pros and cons of different batteries and suggestions for some of the current, best-on-the-market 18650's1 point -
Prime means to soak the wick/coil first before firing it. If you don't do that first, it's too late. If you burned that wick when it's dry it will never taste good no matter how long you wait. Time for a new coil and prime it first with a couple of drops of juice or, like Tam said, fill the tank and let it sit before firing it.1 point

My SO was missing her Dish so she jumped on a deal from Dish, part of it was free Starz. I'm watching all I can before its the free Starz is over. So far I'm really liking this. Evil Dead is one of favorite movies. Like Earthling said it has that feel of the movies.1 point -
Me too I love the campy style that Sam Raimi brings to all of the Evil Dead movies.Greg Nicotero did not do the makeup on this mini series but I'm not surprised since he has TWD to deal with.1 point
