I have one and like it, I use my Invader more, but that is only because of the way it fits my hand and is very durable. My eVic stays on my desk while the Invader goes with me when I'm active. I want to add too that I think the eVic is a better TC mod.

You can only increase your volts past 4.2 in a mechanical mod if you use a series mechanical box. There are not many options out there. There are many advantages to a VW mod. First is most chips use a DC/DC converter and can boost the voltage to the atomizer quite a bit above battery voltage. The ipv D2 can put out 75 watts. It has a 25A and 7V limit on the chip. It will supply more Watts to the atomizer for a much longer time than a mechanical mod. It is also much more consistent. In a mechanical mod the vape starts hot and gets weaker as the battery gets lower. In a VW mod it provides the same Watts to the atomizer until the battery drops below it's cut off limit, usually 3.5V. Variable Wattage mods are also (normally) safer. They will not fire if they are shorted, they will not fire if they get too hot, they will not let you ruin an 18650 by running it too low. I love the simplicity of the mechanical mod, and will always keep a few around, but day in day out a variable wattage mod is just hard to beat.

Why would that matter???? Temp range iz temp range no matter what you "call" it. F vs C is not your problem. Did you stsrt with a fresh coil? You may have fried it at 300C....

Just run it all the way down until it stops, then click it again and it will switch to C

Raise the temp a little at a time until you get the flavor you want. Ask the store what the PG/VG ratio is, they should be able to tell you. I use a 20PG/ 80Vg ratio, and no wicking problems or taste problems. But I don't use TC just wattage with Kanthal coils. I have a TC mod on the way but don't know when it will be shipped yet. (preordered Kanger Platinum)

I see nobody has answered this for you, so I'll give it a whirl and ask you some questions... The Tugboat is an RDA, not a box-mod... a box-mod is the device that provides power to the device which holds your coil/cotton/juice (RDA/RBA/RTA/Tank/Atomizer/Cartomizer/Clearomizer) Typically, you would use Kanthal, but can use Ni200 or Titanium wire if you're using a temp-control device Number of wraps and diameter of coil (ID) will depend on the resistance you want to achieve (watch lots of youtube videos and read threads on this forum) Cotton is your personal preference... Japanese cotton is superior, but some still like silica, rayon, etc Now for the questions... WHY are you vaping? (to quit smoking, hobby, to be one of the cool-kids?) If you are vaping to quit smoking, how long were you a smoker? How many packs-per-day? You mentioned "Awesome vapor production"... are you wanting to cloud-chase? What type of device do you have to provide power? (box-mod, mechanical, self-contained or does it use 18650 batteries?) If you are using 18650 batteries, what brand/model are you using? And, the #1 question... have you ever tried vaping? There is lots of helpful people here, and we're happy to answer more specific questions, but the reason this question has sat for 3 days without an answer is because it is vague, and it appears you are just another non-smoking noob that wants to get into cloud-chasing or competitions, and that is not what we do here... we educate and inform, and our primary goal is to help you stop smoking... not help you fog up rooms and annoy others with massive clouds, which only serve to further cast dim lights on the benefits of vaping (compared to smoking) and cloud-chasing further aids the anti-vaping and regulation desiring politicians. If you want to cloud-up your own home... go for it... just please be aware of others and don't do it in public places!

Rich is correct... MAX-VG means the only PG used is in the flavoring, but there is no way to know the % of flavoring. Generally, flavorings constitute between 15% and 30%, so the VG content could be 70% or as high as 85%... or even higher (as mentioned above) if the flavorings are VG-based (not very common though).

Welcome to VT Josh! What device (tank/battery) were you using before? This is an odd issue, but I think it may be due to the fact you're using a sub-ohm tank, possibly at high Watts, and the higher PG ratio isn't helping either. Try dialing your Wattage down, using a bit less airflow, and possibly moving from a sub-ohm coil to a 1.2 Ohm or similar? Changing brands of juice, flavors, and/or nicotine levels to 3mg or less may also help if you are going to use the sub-ohm coil. 6mg at sub-ohm levels is equivalent to 18mg (or more) at "normal" coil resistances ... 1.8 -2.2 Ohm because the body absorbs the Nicotine MUCH faster and at a higher-rate when it is as heat increases... and sub-ohming really heats the juice!

My solution is duct taping a ego to the grip on a colt 1911.

Perhaps if the dual purpose Taser didn't involve aiming at the face (or other sensitive areas of the body ) we could have something there.

I can see it now; someone modifies their box mod into a taser and pushes down the button to vape and... ZAP! It's probably not something you should try to do unless you also add a toggle switch or something so only one part is working at a time.

Those are some nice builds. It relaxes me as well, but I usually only get about 30 minutes tops to tinker with coils. On my days off while my girls are at school is when I can take a half hour away from cleaning and laundry to watch vids and experiment. Ah the life of a single full-time daddy.
