I run 12watts using my Nano with the .5 coil, any higher and it gets a harsh taste to it. The life of the coil depends on the juice and how many watts you use. A lot of people think the more watts the bigger the clouds, that isn't true unless you consider the cloud caused by the burnt cotton.1 point

I've always known my VTC4 and 25R preformed well in my Mechs, as well as my regulated boxes, so this is good info to support my theory as well. I've been using a few LG HE2 to try them out, and I must say they perform very well, too, but don't seem to last as long as the 25R's (maybe an hour or two less)... or it could just be my imagination, too? lol I'd love to see the LG's put through this same test.1 point -

Heatvape Mini 50w Mod With Temp. Control
texassmokes reacted to Rixter for a topic
One thing I can tell you is that when using nickel wire (required for TC), you can build your coil according to the space you have to build in and not worry so much about hitting a target resistance like you have to do with Kanthal A1.1 point -

Heatvape Mini 50w Mod With Temp. Control
texassmokes reacted to Bebop for a topic
Sorry I just saw you posted a video Rixter. I'll check that out. It would seem to follow that if the coil is so regulated, that it would be the equivalent of just vaping with lower voltages. Perhaps this is not an issue with lightweight vaping gear - 1.8 coils running 3.7 V, for example. Doesn't seem like you'd run in to temperature problems at 8 or 9 watts.1 point -

Heatvape Mini 50w Mod With Temp. Control
texassmokes reacted to Rixter for a topic
Temperature control is like a speed limit. You set your temp limit for just below the flash point of your wick and it keeps it from burning. You can press the fire button with a completely dry cotton wick and you won't burn it. Dry hits are so painful because when there's no juice in the wick, it starts to char. No more dry hits with temp control.1 point -

I just saw this on taste your juice's blog: By pbusardo on 22 March 2015 in Recent News with No Comments Ok folks, thanks to the wonderful advocates we’ve found out the CA Dept of Health is about to unleash lies and propaganda against vaping. We are getting a jump on them. We might not have the millions but we have passion! Let’s amplify this website to counter their fear-mongering! In other words SHARE SHARE SHARE… and… SHARE!!!! http://notblowingsmoke.org/1 point -

Well, I just saw one of these California Dept of Public Health ads last night on TV. Just as commentary, I had a surprisingly strong reaction of betrayal. These ads are very slickly produced. They are not cheaply thrown together and they are very cleverly designed to frighten the general public with alarming misinformation. It's done with an authoritative air and this group of ads punches up long debunked issues on vaping.. There are NO facts, NO supporting evidence, no studies cited etc. it is just pure and simple rumor mongering without substantiation.. Appalling. It is discouraging to think your own tax money funds this BS. The really sad part is in this modern day media "no accountability" mentality where anyone with the bucks can stand up and spew lies and innuendo designed to cripple a well-meaning, grass roots movement, the uninformed will eat up this garbage thinking they've just been given the facts and they will unwittingly propagate this BS. Frankly, the Cal Dept of Pub Health has just made enemies of millions of potential allies. It is just the very definition of insanity. Cutting off your nose to spite your face. This sort of unbridled irresponsibility from those in a position of trust is exactly how corruption spreads in a society and how that society weakens as a result. The CDPH has just stood up and declared they are not interested in public health at all, but are in the pockets of those who would profit from the very diseases they so righteously claim to be fighting. Insane. Here is a link to a very good article debunking the CDPH's campaign. http://www.electroniccigaretteconsumerreviews.com/still-blowing-smoke-org-fact-vs-fiction/1 point -

That's why it's good that we have forums just for vaping. Here at Vapor Talk, we have a lot of knowledgeable, friendly members who stress safety, especially concerning batteries. Many of us also try to steer noobies to trusted vendors who only sell genuine product with no knock offs unless it's plainly marked as such so we can make an informed decision to buy or not.1 point -

This is an unprotected flat-top battery (Samsung 25r 18650). A button-top battery (looks like the top of a AA or D-cell) typically has a protection circuit built-in to prevent over-charge or over-discharge in a device.1 point -

Just wondering. Granted, I've heard from, well, everywhere, not to trust Ultrafire, and even Trustfire are so-so, I believe, is what I heard. But the fact that this came off E-bay, and had another label UNDER the brand label could be an example of someone selling bad crap on E-Bay. We've seen how they've essentially sold batteries with very little voltage, or rather, very little capacity, wrapped in a brand name wrapping, selling it as a normal battery that we might use (I think this e-bay seller was using a Sony cover for the battery on the video I've seen).1 point -

OK, Just to clarify myself in case no one was reading, or got swept up in instant prejudice. I attacked an idea. Its my opinion that adding a competitive component to chasing in the public arena is a bad idea. I may have illustrated that in a way that those that have a stake in the idea took offense too. I knew it was going to start a fire, but it was based on sound facts. If it is`nt discussed with all the facts put on the table, you can bet your best juice the other side is not listening to the facts. If I personally singled out any single person for a personal attack, I`d like it quoted please? Just suggesting someone should listen is not a personal attack. Attacking an idea is discourse, nothing more. If you take it personally, I guess maybe I don`t know, out of my control really. If i`m too sensitive, well, I`m not the only one. And my feelings will grow back. All feeling grow back. Feelings ar`nt facts. But I do grow tired of swimming up stream, so I`m out of this discussion.1 point -

Bebop, I agree that our ability to have the products we now enjoy took inovation and effort by ppl in the past. I can't thank them enough for the oportunity to enjoy what I can today. Happy, I'm not saying that regulations here or abroad are in the best interest of ppl who want to vape. What I'm saying is that as a whole, vapers would likely not want to be judged based on their activisim. In other words, if you don't speek out or know the latest political actions you're a bad person/vaper. To catagorize ppl based on that is wrong IMO. Most are just trying to get by and reduce harm to themselves. I don't deny that supporting any organization that promotes our rights as vapers is a good thing!1 point -

Fishguy, Yes, politeness goes along way in getting the message across. Please have a google at whats going on in the UK and vaping. Their government is really trying hard to get it banned across the board. Those people are scared, and with good reason. This could be coming to America. If we let our comfortableness continue on to complete complacency, they WILL win the argument. All is good, as long as Iv been able to elucidate the consequences in this matter. :?) R1 point -

So far so good, I only out a few strained drops in the bottle. It actually taste more like a cig than I'm used too. Might be clogging tho little harder drag.. QUESTION what about flavors based in VG with only a little acohol in it? Our Chinise market has them cheap, they are natural and mostly VG. Considering you only put a few drops in your mix. Will the acohol hurt anything.1 point -

Water soluable flavors mix better with the PG and VG bases. oil based flavorings can kill the heating elements. the oils gunk up the coils. Most of the flavors at these sites are water soluable http://www.ecigexpress.com/ http://www.onestopdiyshop.com/products/The-Flavor-Apprentice-Professional-Flavors.html I haven't found a good way to get rid of the perfume flavor with certain flavors....I just end up moving to a new flavor.1 point -

Tanning of liquids is perfectly normal. As things steep and age they go rather quickly. When the supplier takes the original nic filled liquid out it has been in an airtight, dark, sealed container for awhile. They hold their life really well in amber glass, but as soon as they hit large amounts of atmosphere, and light, they change quickly. The cheap plastic they are in is also NOT intended for long term freezing or storage of 1+ years. Longer than that and the compounds will most likely leach plastic.1 point -

I don't know that there is an exact answer to steeping. some flavors get better when they have had a bit of time to sit and settle. I do notice that most of my mixes change a bit after they have sit a while, sometimes better, sometimes weaker. personally, I don't worry much about steeping....I mix it to my taste and vape, if I need to touch it up later, then I add some more flavor or add something new. Change in color is not uncommon. just the flavors combining or steeping I guess. The brown color when leaking from the carto is caused by the heat from the carto...most colors darken quite a bit when heated.1 point -

So here is a question. (I can't believe I'm jumping into the DIY mix - blame Nana for this one.) In my head I can figure out how to mix the flavorings, and then aadd that at, say, 30% to my nic base. Is there a general "base" recipe if I usually vape a 70/30 mix at like 24 mg? Actually I want to go down in nic but a general idea would help. If I had that, then I could add the flavoring, figuring in that that would dilute the nic further. Right?1 point -
