I call BS No specifics all marketing hype. No information. This is aimed at the most gullible market and I will hold that position until I see facts, not red bull marketing BS. Sorry. The bop has spoken!2 points

Did you lock your resistance at room temp beforehand (press "+" and "-" at the same time)? Had to ask in case you have not done so. Getting a solid contact is key in my experience, and I have wasted a quarter of my Ni spool with trial and error. I can have 2 identical builds (spacing, ohm, diameter, etc) but get different results when I do not have a solid contact. I found best result when the leads are wrapped around screw before tightening it. Whereas in just trapping one side, it is a hit and miss for me. Hang in there man and keep at it.1 point

UD Goliath 2 build with NI200
Vapor Guy reacted to Adversarious1 for a topic
This can be a lot more complicated than what I'm about to explain, but in this particular case with a dual coil build, whether it's kanthal, Ni200 or Ti1, you are giving the electricity two paths to travel through, thus cutting the resistance in half. If you were to make a single coil that contained the same number of wraps of both coils combined (for instance a single 22 wrap coil vs. 2x 11 wrap coils) you would be doubling the distance the electricity needs to travel along a single path and you would see the ohms double. Analogy of the day: 100 cars traveling on a single lane highway would create create more traffic than those same 100 cars traveling down a two lane highway. More lanes = less resistance. I'm a nerd and would be happy to explain further if you'd like me to, but I hope this explanation helps.1 point -
I think you do a great job describing the juice and like Tam said it is so subjective. I have a hard time recommending juices too. I even have trouble recommending mods. They always work great for me and fall apart for someone else (or just the opposite) Thanks! and keep the reviews coming!1 point

Not my fault if you broke yours, mine are still working flawlessly. You'll be waiting a loooong time for the reimbursement, especially since I have yet to receive the invoice that I can laugh at.1 point

When reading juice reviews, I usually dont pay much attention to whether or not the reviewer liked them, rather I like to see the flavors ( I usually cant tell by some of the random juice names chosen) and I can decide if its something that would interest me. I am however extremely upset at Tam for recommending the POS Eleaf Istick. I have sent her an invoice and awaiting reimbursement1 point

Juice is so subjective. What tastes great to you could be awful for me and no one's at fault. Most of us here know the score, and we don't expect a new juice to be our favorite just because someone else loves it. We don't know unless we give it a try.1 point

Totally new to vaporizers , looking for a good mod under $80

VapeNW has them for $44.99... does that count for "under $45"??1 point -
Good to see that this was met with positive response. I'm always a bit scared to give my opinion on juice because every time I tell my brother about a juice, he immediately buys it (Even if it's not a flavor he likes, which is incredibly annoying), and then I catch flak for it. He's also kind of a hard ***. So I'm sorry if anyone (Bebop, Jeffb) goes out and buys a juice based on my review and ends up not liking it. I tried to add disclaimers in the beginning. Sometimes you just can't help it. It just happens. Anyways. I've decided to start killing two birds with one stone. I've begun bringing both of my set ups with me to work. I take turns with them on my vape breaks. Both get their own clean wick. I won't mix flavors. And, this way, I can taste/vape two juices all day. But without overdoing it. As we all know, most juices will fade in flavor by the end (or about 3/4) of the day. This way, I can get through two juices without compromising the integrity of each review. If it becomes a problem, I'll revert back to my original method. Today, I went through two more Bad Drip flavors. Bad Drip's "Farley's Gnarly Sauce" - This juice is really weird. Not in a bad way. I think the mix of flavors is actually genius. And without knowing it, they created a masterpiece. The description is as follows. "Based off a recipe older than Bob Ross' paintbrush! We pile-drived Tangy Kiwi (The fruit, not the bird) into the heart of psychedelic strawberries dipped in a light bubble gum nectar." I don't know what any of that means, except for there's supposed to be mainly strawberries with some tart kiwi and a light bubblegum flavor. I have to say I dig it. It's interesting, because all of these flavors mix perfectly. The strawberries are a great front end flavor that's up in your face. The Kiwi mixes in behind that quite nicely without standing out too heavy, and bubble gum is such a light flavor that it tends to take on the taste of whatever it's added to while creating a unique note on the back end. These flavors all blend together, rather than standing out individually, for one heck of a fruity vape that is reminiscent of a "Fruit By the Foot" roll. (Which I ate through most of my later childhood and I continue to eat now as a man in my twenties) Either way. The flavor hung on all day. It kept on strong, though I vaped almost 6ml of it. There was absolutely no drop off. It stayed just as tasty and tangy as it was on my first drag this morning. It won't last long enough to steep. I'm quite impressed. I will definitely be buying more of this. This was one heck of a surprise. 9/10 Bad Drip's "Cereal Trip" - I've tasted so many cereal flavors that it's become a chore to continue doing so. This one is good, don't get me wrong. It's a fruity cereal "on top of a gooey frosted donut" (really?) and "drowning in a sugar-rich milk bath". I have to say. This is by far the dorkiest juice description I've ever read. It was a bit off-putting the first time I read it. When I first vaped the juice, I was pleasantly surprised by a change up from the typical fruit loops flavor. It's got a bit more fruit to it than most. It's not all sugar coating. And the Bad Drip guys seem to have done something I've only seen once before. They accurately recreated the sugary coating of a fruit loop. But they did so on the exhale. You start with fruit, and you get a nice sugar coating afterwards. Which, of course, is backwards from the actual cereal. But that's a silly point to argue. Anyways, It's a good juice. It's up there on the "cereal flavors" list. But I think I'll stick to ANML's Looper. I think this one is good. But if I were to go for a juice like this, I'd rather go with Looper. Which is basically just this, but done much better. I suspect that it will behave much like Looper does with steeping. My guess is that over time, the fruit will fade out and the milky background will step up and make itself more noticeable. 7/10 Thanks for reading through the books I produce when I talk about juice. I hope I don't bore you all too much.1 point

Totally new to vaporizers , looking for a good mod under $80
jasonculp reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Like you, I really don't need to spend the money right now, but I really want one At the moment, the best price I've found so far is $44.99, but it seems every week or two, the price will drop, and maybe someone will have a Labor-Day sale, and knock another $5 off? At least that is my hope... A thermistor would be much cheaper, but if not contacting the coil, it would be horribly inaccurate... the difference in readings, on the same coil, being 2mm away and 3mm away would be anywhere from 20-50% error? Aww... you were the FIRST person I was going to send the link to1 point -
Yes, i'm usually fastidious about cleaning my contacts. How many points do I get for using the word "fastidious" in a sentence ?1 point

Nope, I've been holding out for the D2 (or Cloupor GT80), but didn't pre-order one to see if the prices dropped... and dropped they did! I think by payday, they'll be practically giving them away1 point -
Hey Earthling, about the temperature control mods. Can you use kanthal coils with the temperature control, or does the coil have to be made from ni... nickle... no... nitrite? No, that's not it... damn. Now I can't remember the type of wire that works with the TC. The little brain just skipped a groove... but you know what I'm talking about, right?1 point

New age vaping
Tam reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
I agree... pure hype and BS... it has been Proven (through real science) that you cannot vape enough caffeine in a day to equal one 8oz cup of coffee... not even CLOSE! And the only thing missing from the image above is two more girls in bikinis, and one of them blowing a huge cloud (which AIN'T coming from that little vape-pen)!1 point -
Now you can direct drip while driving
Tam reacted to Adversarious1 for a topic
From what I saw at ECC last weekend, I would gather most vapers are in agreement with the reactions posted here so far (myself included). This company had a booth set up. I passed their booth multiple times throughout the day and each time I passed by, there were literally no consumers or shop owners there, only the company reps.1 point -
Eleaf Istick 50W and What Happened
spydre reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
My wife and I have 4 and no issues at all but I did kill one when I jumped in the lake with it in a lanyard and when I fired it the power stuck at 50w and would not turn off. That one sleeps with the fishes. I clean my connection at every tank refill and make sure it stays as dry as possible. Like any electronic devise moisture is the enemy. Now back no Knocked Up and sleep lol1 point -
For a new sutup for $75 You cant beat the subtank mini its An all in one package good mod good tank (which you can expand on) The I stick 50 is a great batt as well as the KPT2 but with that tank your limited the subtank gives you room to expand (if you want too).... Knowing what I know now If the subox mini setup was around when I was looking for a second setup I would of jumped all over it. As of now its my second go too setup use it daily I can subohm or not with it.1 point

The iStick just supplies the power. Your tank determines everything else. If you went with the subtank Mini, it is a more advanced tank, that has the ability to use the rebuildable head, (more advanced you need to build your own coils, and use cotton), the .5 ohm coils are premade and also more advanced (uses higher VG juices, and lower nicotine, with much more airflow) and the 1.5 ohm premade coil which is closer to what you were using, but still higher output and possibly more juice usage. It would be a good step up, eventually. You know when to change the coil when it will no longer supply the flavor, or amount of vapor you are used to at the same settings. They gradually get gunked up and loose performance. It is caused by many factors, but the greatest is your juice. Some juices gunk coils quickly. The amount of power also determines how long they last too. Normally the more power you run the shorter they last. (there are many exceptions here, too many for this post) You can also let your tank run dry, or over power them and burn them up. I don't know of a kit that I really would recommend at this time. As Earthling and Tam said, the Kanger Aero tanks, Kanger Pro Tanks, Davide's, and (I will add) the Nautilus, and Nautilus Mini would make good toppers for the iStick. When you get more advanced, move up to SubTank Mini. The iStick 50 will run just about any tank you can put on it, and they are much cheaper buying the best pieces and putting them together. This type setup will work fine with the juices you have now (18 mg). Like Squid and Cany said, the SubTank mini kit is a great kit. I think it would defiantly be something to look at in the future. It does require separate batteries, but this is a plus to some of us. I carry 4 charged batteries and just swap them as needed. I charge them outside of the unit so it is never stuck to a charger. The tank is also capable of producing very large amounts of vapor, and a lot of customization (building your own coils) Just shopping around for around $100 plus shipping, you could buy 2 setups, that way you have a backup. $30 each for iSticks, $10-$20 each for tanks, $10-$15 for extra coils...I know that is a little over...lol1 point

Good points, I have the iStick 50 watt too, it is a solid unit as well. I suggested the subox (meaning the kit) as it comes with both the .5 and the 1.2 ohm coils, plus the build deck. I prefer the subox when not at home as I can carry a couple extra 18650s. The iStick only lasts me a few hours with a .25 coil running at 40 watts or so. I have found I like certain tanks on each mod, and didn't think of mixing. Kind of set in my ways, lol.1 point

Whats the best vapor i can get for under $75?
Mirage reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Nothing wrong with the subbox mini kit... but for the same money, you could pick up an iStick 50W and a couple of quality tanks like the Kanger ProTank2, Kanger AeroTank V2, or Aspire Davide tanks. The subtank will work with "normal" Ohm cols... 1.5 Ohm, and will allow you to build your own on the RBA deck, but these are for more advanced users, not really the best option, IMO, for someone starting out. An iStick 50W will give you HUGE battery life, and allow you to grow into higher Wattage tanks and sub-ohming (which is NOT for everyone, nor is it an expected progression for vapers). The Kanger and Davide tanks will allow you to use factory coils from 0.8-2.5 Ohm (wide range), and they produce great flavor (my preference is the Aerotanks using 1.5 or 1.8 Ohm coils). The goal is to stay away from smoking, and an iStick paired with a good, rugged tank will keep you going for years. No need to jump into sub-ohming, rechargeable batteries, rebuildables, etc. just because the kit is "affordable", and a "kit" If purchased online, $75 will get you an iStick, two tanks, and a box of coils... and probably a few bucks left over for the important part... JUICE!1 point -
I use a sonic cleaner. But not everyone has one. Tams way is a good way too, instead of vodka I use PGA 190 proof grain alcohol, it evaporates fast and doesn't leave a after taste. I don't know what's available in china, so that might not be available to you.1 point
