I have the 30w version and have not experienced any problems. There have been reports of the 30w version also auto firing. Not as many reports as the 50w version, but there are probably more 50w versions out there than the 30. I was going to ask a question about the 510 connection other day about it being sealed. Remember way back when it was important to have batteries that were sealed? It seems with all the improvements to devices, it has become a question or concern from the past. It looks like the past is coming back to haunt us again. I watched a couple videos where the presenter has taken apart the devices. I guess you can buy replacement boards from Fastech now. Not that I would want to replace the board or the battery for that matter. I would just buy a new unit. The Isticks use the 18650 batteries. These are the non IMR versions of the battery. The internal board/chips is the safety for the unprotected battery. But you mechanical geniuses already know this. I took a loop and got a pretty good view of the connector. There is a nice rubber looking gasket surrounding the pin. I did notice a very small gap between the gasket and pin on one side. I don't think it is much of a problem, unless there is a large leak that is left unattended for an extended amount of time. Because the pin is spring loaded, it makes me wonder if this could be part of the problem. Can the gap become larger when when a tank is attached? Most of the videos didn't show a close up of the wire connecting to the pin. But from what I could tell, the wire has a shrink wrap like plastic around where it connects. I have come across this type of cover with other electronics, toys are a good example. The wire has to exit that plastic cover, so I am guessing there is a gap there too allowing liquid to leak through the connector and down the wire to the board. Some people have reported that large tank leaks have run down the side of the device and inside the buttons. The board is right under the buttons. There is not much protection from the view screen cover to the board. Mostly these reports have to do with the 50w version. The 30w has a nice lip on the upper deck that hangs over the buttons. This was added to make a larger area for large tanks to sit. I can see where the lip would help to keep the liquid from dripping over the side and leaking into the buttons. I guess the best precautions we can take is to keep the device clean and check frequently for leaks. I would also advise not to leave the tank attached when not in use for extended amounts of time. Remove the tank while charging. This is a no brainier for veterans of course. But noobs with one device and one tank, might not know this rule. They plop it on the charger at night with the tank attached and go to bed. This is one old rule we forget about when explaining safety to new vapors. Thank you for reading my long drawn out research and thoughts! Love you guys!2 points

Hahaha... after the week of hell I had at work last week, I've binge-watched season 4 and 5 (again) this weekend, along with several adult beverages, lol, to prepare myself for the spin-off and the upcoming season 6! I can't wait for both1 point -
Now, if I could taste the stuff I'd be really happy. As long as it doesn't taste like soap I'll keep on keepn on.1 point

You might want to keep in mind that the Eleaf iStick 20W is well known for not giving accurate readings on power in wattage mode, it runs hotter than what it says. Your best bet is to set it to use voltage instead of wattage for a more accurate reading. Just my two cents.1 point

Breathing problems

Well, seems I found an answer to a question I haven't asked....... yet. Recently stepped up from an eGo/EVOD 1.8 single coil setup using 18 nic to an eleaf 20 topped with a Nautilus running a 1.6 dual coil with the air control ring set wide open. Juice is 20p/80v with 18 nic. I've also picked up the habit of vapeing on my equipment a lot while driving, which means I've pretty much burned up a 20ml bottle since Monday. Had an idea, but wasn't positive what was making me feel a bit odd till I read the above. Went back to The ego/evod setup with an occasional hit on the nautilus with the volts and watts set to the lowest till I can work up some lower nic juice.1 point -

My vote would go for an iStick 50W and Nautilus BVC. Whatever you end up getting, make sure you order more coils to go with it.1 point

Subtank mini RBA Plus from Mt. Baker Vapor and Kidney Puncher replaced my Triton! Double checked before and after cleaning to make sure the juice flow controller is working correctly and it is. Have juice in it now and am waiting very impatiently for the coil to soak up the juice.1 point

This is ridiculous. Think this through logically. We dont know the long term effects of vaping PG OR VG. Who is to say vaping a 50/50 blend is any safer than an 80/20 blend? The fact is we dont know anything. It sounds like your local vape shop employees are completely bullshitting you or aren't very smart lol.1 point

Lately I have been mixing my juices 70VG 20PG 10H2O its been working out pretty well for me. Plus the added H2O helps keep the coil clean.1 point

80/20 pg vg ratio vs 50-50
jonnoh reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
HUH?? PG is the primary component of asthma inhalers, and has been for decades. Granted, an asthma inhaler is atomizing the PG, not vaporizing it, but there is no difference in the "breathing machines" used in hospitals than your basic APV... both vaporize the PG. A lot of fear-mongering goes on about vaping PG or VG... I even read a report recently talking about the harmful effects of vaporizing the water in e-liquids... Yeah, right... it's called STEAM, and is perfectly safe... unless you inhale gallons of it and DROWN! Many companies offer 50/50 juices because that is what the customers prefer... it is the best mix of flavor, TH, and vapor... it has nothing to do with "safety"!!1 point -
Paid forward some gear this weekend
jonnoh reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
A friend of my son's stopped by the house this weekend, and she asked if I could fix her MVP... the 510 threads were stripped-out. Well, as luck would have it, I actually had an eGo-to-510 adapter, so once I screwed that down, she was back in business with her beat-up, hand-me-down MVP. Well, after talking with her a little bit, I realized she was pretty poor on vape-gear, and was struggling at times to keep herself in coils, juice, and was having all kinds of issues with her donated batteries (mostly ancient Spinners and that MVP that looked like it had been buried in the desert for 1000 years). Sooooo, I mixed her up 150ml of juice, gave her two boxes of Kanger BDC coils (1.8 Ohm), one KPT3 mini, and I actually parted with one of my beloved Aerotanks (V1's) AND my MVP 2.0! She's been a friend of my son's for so long, she's like an adopted daughter to me, so at least I knew the gear was going to "family", and that it would be put to good use! I know how she struggled growing up and I'd hate to see her go back to cigarettes, at such a young age (25), for lack of decent gear!1 point -
You know from reading both of your posts I think I have come to realize that the person you want to help has to really want to quit. The last ones were wishy-washy. I should have seen it. I think vaping really only works when you really have the desire to quit. I know that for me personally, when I started, I didn't want to quit, I just knew I needed to. That is one reason it took so long to stick. I went through months of cigalikes before I finally got a decent rig. Even then it took a push from a great girl at a vape shop. (Sad thing is she has since slipped back into a a bad drug habit and lost her job) It wasn't until I smoked the last cigarette, out of the last pack, out of the last carton, that I made my mind up to never buy them again, and I haven't. It is hard to believe that it has been over a year since I have smoked.1 point
