Paid forward some gear this weekend

A friend of my son's stopped by the house this weekend, and she asked if I could fix her MVP... the 510 threads were stripped-out. Well, as luck would have it, I actually had an eGo-to-510 adapter, so once I screwed that down, she was back in business with her beat-up, hand-me-down MVP. Well, after talking with her a little bit, I realized she was pretty poor on vape-gear, and was struggling at times to keep herself in coils, juice, and was having all kinds of issues with her donated batteries (mostly ancient Spinners and that MVP that looked like it had been buried in the desert for 1000 years). Sooooo, I mixed her up 150ml of juice, gave her two boxes of Kanger BDC coils (1.8 Ohm), one KPT3 mini, and I actually parted with one of my beloved Aerotanks (V1's) AND my MVP 2.0! She's been a friend of my son's for so long, she's like an adopted daughter to me, so at least I knew the gear was going to "family", and that it would be put to good use! I know how she struggled growing up and I'd hate to see her go back to cigarettes, at such a young age (25), for lack of decent gear!5 points -

Cesar, you leaving is your choice, not ours. That being said, and without taking this whole debacle into consideration (which I don't actually fault you for), I don't think I'm the only person you have rubbed the wrong way in these forums almost from the day you joined. For me it was never about your grammar. I can easily overlook that. For me it was the way you continuously and consistently stated your opinion on various topics in a manner that made it sound like it was your way or the highway, like your opinion is the only correct opinion. You never have seemed to grasp the concept that every vaper is unique. Each of us has our own preferences in APV's or unregulated devices, each of us has our own preferences in tanks or RBA's, each of us has our own preferences in how much airflow we like, each of us has our own preferences in how warm or how cool we like our vaping experience to be, each of us has our own preferences in nicotine strength, each of us has our own preferences in flavors, each of us has our own preferences in PG/VG ratio. Basically, each of us has our own "sweet spot", another concept you have never seemed to grasp, (if you have, it hasn't been apparent). Speaking only for myself, I think many of your posts would have been better received if you simply added these four simple words to them: "my personal preference is...". Good luck on those other forums. If you think this one is full of "idiots" and the others aren't, you're in for a big surprise.3 points -

Really cool of everyone helping others out...me and my coworker help each other out if we're low on funds and need juice or supplies...I also gave another coworker a couple clearomizers I had bc his ego starter tank mouthpiece broke, they're a little of a step up on what he had and I didn't use them...also another coworker had her battery break so I tossed her a v2 red spinner battery. I see this alot in thevaping community and it truly feels good helping someone else out to better themselves.2 points -

Actually, both spellings are acceptable... one is "Queen's English" (UK), and the other is American English... I work with a lot of people from other countries, and spelling is always different... especially when the writer's first language is NOT English People get on to me constantly for misspelling "grey", but both grey and gray are acceptable (same word), and when I spend a lot of time talking with the Brits, Irish, or Scots, I find myself using the Queen's spellings more and more because I make an effort to spell the way they do (emails, IM's, etc.), and for days afterwards, I'm spelling that way in emails and writings to my local co-workers Some of the most fun (and frustrations) of my day can be spend deciphering Engrish from the Chinese, Hinglish from the Indians, and Spanglish from those in South America, lol2 points -
You know from reading both of your posts I think I have come to realize that the person you want to help has to really want to quit. The last ones were wishy-washy. I should have seen it. I think vaping really only works when you really have the desire to quit. I know that for me personally, when I started, I didn't want to quit, I just knew I needed to. That is one reason it took so long to stick. I went through months of cigalikes before I finally got a decent rig. Even then it took a push from a great girl at a vape shop. (Sad thing is she has since slipped back into a a bad drug habit and lost her job) It wasn't until I smoked the last cigarette, out of the last pack, out of the last carton, that I made my mind up to never buy them again, and I haven't. It is hard to believe that it has been over a year since I have smoked.2 points

Congrats on taking the plunge... Don't be too worried if your first few batches aren't up to "par", because getting the mixtures just right can be tough... and sometimes there are flavors in there that only enhance other flavors, so you don't know they're in there until you realize "something is missing", lol. Let us know how it turns out, and ask flavor questions... sometimes a flavor can be elusive!2 points -

Cesar I think you will be the first person I have ever hidden from my forum view in almost 3 years active here. You do not know at all how to interact with other people. Comp is a long time respected member, a great guy and you are a noob that refuses to take advice and gives horrible advice and this is the last straw for me. Has nothing to do with grammar more name calling and overall assholish tone to your posts. See ya later, well I won't. Hope I wasn't too road about it.1 point -

I have the 100 watt IPV 4 and I have been compleatly impressed with it. First off it has taken some falls and tumbles and still works like a champ. Also I like the fact you can update your firmware with this mod. I did and gained a extra 20 watts so essentially it's the same as the 4s. Been dripping and using it as my daily power horse for my sub ohm tanks. The mod never gets tired and screams for more. Good choice for a buy you will love it.1 point

Hehehe... when I was still drinking coffee... I swear I needed a hose ran from the coffeemaker, straight to my arm! My "big" coffee cup is 36oz... my "regular" one is 24oz, and my back-up is 22oz Now, I use my big one for ice-water, and the other two are in the cabinet for emergencies. I do love the smell of coffee, but I don't miss it, really...1 point -
When I first saw my co-worker outside vaping, I'd been wanting to quit for several years. After trying everything on the market and not having any success with any of them, I was more than ready to quit when I found vaping. That's probably why it was so easy for me. The same with most of the people I've helped switch over. I would talk with them to see how serious they were. If it was just a casual interest, I'd tell them to look me up when they were ready. When they got their minds made up, they'd come to me and I'd get them set up. Those are the ones who are successful in putting away the analogs. Putting the offer out is the first step. The next is theirs to make -- when they're ready and not before.1 point

The reason why I caught that is because I need two cups of coffee every morning before I get up to speed. The catch is that my coffee cup holds 24 oz.1 point

I know the feeling... I gave away several "starter kits" last summer, and only about half of them stuck with it beyond a few months... but look on the bright side, half of them stuck with it (and moved on to more advanced gear) You always gamble when you PIF gear, but at least I know that my MVP (and tanks) didn't go to waste... she'll put it to good use... she's staying strong, and trying hard to avoid the analogs!1 point -

I've had an interest in doing some DIY flavors that I think will pair well with some of my favorite adult beverages. The thing that has been holding me back has primarily been "start up" costs. I just couldn't bring myself to order the supplies online. I didn't want to end up with a bunch of items I wasn't going to end up using if it turned out DIY isn't my thing. As luck would have it, one of my local B&M's started selling DIY supplies. The one thing they don't sell is nic base, but I'm okay with that. I would rather figure out whether I even enjoy DIY before spending even more money on something I may not end up using. Long story short, I made a trip to said B&M and walked out with enough supplies to make 15+ 30ml bottles of liquid. Total cost out the door was less than $35, which is less than the cost of 2 30ml bottles of many premium brands I vape. I figure If I am only successful on 3 or 4 of those bottles, then I was successful and the cost was worth it. (I do frequently drip 0 nic when I'm just kicking back in the mancave with a nice, cold adult beverage). I have now started my first experiment. I'm going for a "Lynchburgh Lemonade" type flavor. Definitely not everybody's cup of tea, but I love my Kentucky Bourbons and Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskeys. Crossing my fingers on this one. Haven't tried it yet, but it smells great.1 point -

I just got an IPV4s, arrived in the mail Friday. I paired it with an ego one Mega. Running the stock nickel coil, loving the temp control. Solid mod so far, and after actually reading the papers in the box with it the menu is straight forward.1 point
-
I understand being too lazy to build coils. I enjoy it, but sometimes just don't feel like it, and I get very frustrated when they don't work like I want them to. From what I read about the mod, it seems to be pretty good, but I think to really enjoy it's potential, you might have to break down and start building. I would suggest getting a coil building ohm meter, some 28 gauge Ni200 wire and a good RDA. (I use a Velocity clone and love it). It will work great with the tanks you mentioned, even better if you get the temp control coils. It is worth the extra effort in my opinion. I have a couple of Pioneer4U mods, the ipv mini 2, and the ipv3 (the old one) and have never had a minutes trouble with them.1 point

My only experience is with the IPV minis but those are solid workhorses. I'd venture to guess this one shouldn't be much different in dependability.1 point
