  4. The bill had actually already passed the Senate and was being evaluated by a committee for movement into the Assembly. This particular battle was won. Certain amendments to the bill were proposed and the committee voted to move the bill forward with those amendments. Senator Mark Leno, the primary author and sponsor of SB140 did not like it with the amendments and he has essentially walked away from the bill, taking his support for SB140 with him. The bill is now "being held in committee", which I think is legal-ese for "it's going to sit here and collect dust unless someone else wants to re-write it". Basically, this was a battle won for vapers in California, but we know the war is far from over.

In Presidential elections I tend to agree but with only 28-35% of those voting age that actually vote there is no way to know how the country feels. Fox polls show a hard right leaning nation, MSNBC polls show a hard left leaning nation and with 3 out of 4 voters sitting it out there is no way to truly gauge the "attitude of our nation" lol. Imagine if that 65-72% of the nation banded together and said "WE WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANYONE WITH A D OR AN R BY THEIR NAME!"? Would things change? A few things that must change: Term Limits for all offices No electoral College, popular vote only Make it a felony punishable by prison for anyone holding public office to take one cent above their taxpayer paid salary The two party system keeps us all in chains cheering for our team like a sporting event. Its time to do away with this!

    The South.....

The South produced Pat Conroy and Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's definitely not all bad i suppose any of us could hold up unflattering examples of regional culture from our own areas. California is probably as diverse as they come yet has all the racism to accompany it. It's shunned openly, but it exists. By and large it's a minority of trouble makers while the rest of us get along quite happily with each other.

  12. Disregard my comment about it not working in Safari. It does. From Safari browser: after bringing up the website, tap the address bar to bring up your bookmarks/favorites. Drag down and you will have the option to "Request Desktop Site". This works for both iPad and iPhone, though if you want to chat, I highly recommend landscape mode. Safari screenshot: Most will probably stay with the native Safari browser, so that should work. If you do use Chrome on an iDevice though, the following should help you out. In the top right corner of the Chrome app there will be three vertical dots. Tap those dots and a menu will open that will include the option to request the desktop site: I'm normally a PC user at work or tapatalk on an Android device when mobile, but I'm familiar with most Android browsers and I'm pretty sure they all have an option to switch to desktop mode somewhere.

  13. Not to go too off topic, but in general I dont like to go below .7 or .5 max on a kanthal build myself. However, a .15 Ni build (using TC)does not seem to perform anywhere near like you'd expect a kanthal build would perform. I'd say my Ni builds at .15 with TC are comparable to a .5 or .9 kanthal build as far as vapor and flavor are concerned. The appreciable differences and my preference for TC all lie with consistent performance for much longer time before cleaning and rewicking. It's much more trouble/fuss working with Ni but it has a learning curve steeper than kanthal but worth it.

  14. Been vaping 1.5 yrs, and have zero negative side-effects. I'm healthier, happier, can make it to the mailbox and back without stopping to catch my breath (actually hiked 20+ miles recently and NEVER had an issue). I feel like I'm 20 again! My house and cars don't smell like stale smoke, neither does my clothes or body! I recently serviced my PC (added a new HDD), and guess what? The interior of my PC is NOT covered with sticky, brown nicotine and smoke residue! Like others have said... 99.9% of the mis-information is pushed by the Big Tobacco industry (to keep people smoking), Government nannies that need tobacco taxes to support their wallets and pet-projects, and FDA/CDC/AMA lap-dogs trying to push the agenda of government (also to garner tax money for funding). It is very sad that our government rely so heavily on tax dollars from sin-taxes like tobacco!

    Hello Im New Here

Welcome! Ive been vaping for over two years. I can honestly say at this point I can feel no bad effects from vaping. In fact, I would say in general I feel better than I ever have after smoking for over 25 years. there is a lot of bad information being put out about vaping that is false and its purpose is to frighten off new people to vaping. Honestly, my opinion is vaping is not a totally healthy activity but is on the order of thousands of times less harmful than smoking cigarettes.

Cool. welcome to VaporTalk. Look for a thread called "share your coil builds" the builders and the drippers hang out in that thread. Lots of pics. Lots of advice. Some crazy builds. Ask questions in there. It helps if you ask specific questions or if you are trying to solve specific problems. Tell em your a noob. Be yourself. Above all, have fun and enjoy the ride. Good luck.

  20. I'll start. My fav item under 20 bucks are the little sigma helicopters you can buy on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Syma-S107-S107G-Helicopter-Gyro-/dp/B00F4WMAAW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436402842&sr=8-1&keywords=helicopter They fly really well, you can adjust the routers while it's in mid air (to stop it from circulation) and it charges via USB. They're pretty durable too.

    How Do You Feel?

I've tried all those things as well. That Zyban was great! I didn't care for a while if I smoked or not, but that didn't slow me down. I never ever wanted to quit. I loved smoking but thought I had to quit after at that time about 30 years into it. It just stopped bothering me that I was smoking. I remember hearing a doctor interviewed about smoking and he was asked how long he thought a person could survive being a smoker and he answered, "Oh I'd say about 30 years would be about the limit". Sheesh! Then my sig other said, "I was worried about you last night, I thought you were having a seizure". That was the end of the Zyban for me. NIneteen years later, I found vaping and now for more than 2 years, I've done nothing but get healthier, feeling great, running up stairs despite my knees needing replacement. Anxiety not existent and can hold my breath underwater for almost 2 pool lengths. As someone who was a childhood expert at playing doctor, I feel qualified to comment on this matter.

  24. Yes, they are battery operated... button-cells (AG12/A76, or at least the ones I have use those), which you can buy in bulk-packs for cheap! I bought a pack of 50 for maybe $10-12, and each bug only takes two, and they last forever... or so it seems... If your son is into bugs, these will be a huge hit Oh, a box of ammo is always fun! But for kids of all ages, what about these? Ant Farm Bag of water balloons Pair of generic Nerf-style pistols (and extra darts)... my whole family's favorite way to blow off steam with each other

I bought two of those Syma copters for my sons, but I find myself playing with them just as often $18 each, shipped Prime from Amazon, is a steal for cool toy, and you can install a slightly bigger battery pack so you can get upwards of 15-min of flight time between charges! My youngest can't get enough of the HEX-Bugs... They run about $10 each and are just cool to let crawl around on the floor to terrorize the cat and dogs

  30. My mother passed away too early in her life. Cancer. It was tragic. She was only 54 years old. She was a bit of a writer and a story teller. She loved stories about old people. She collected them and retold them all the time. She had a fondness for old people like I'd never seen. It was well known in our family and circles of my mother's fascination and interest with the geriatric set. I told her a story one time (only slightly embellished, honest) that had her in stitches, and one she would retell throughout her life she got such a kick out of it. I had a job when I was in college. I used to service fire extinguishers for businesses and my territory was San Francisco. One day I was in Chinatown working my route. I would start at one end of the street and work my way down the block visiting each business, inspecting their extinguishers and servicing them if needed. Chinatown is an amazing, densely packed area of shops and restaurants filled with bustling people, lots of activity. As I started my route down the street I spotted a little old man who was walking across my path on my way in to the first business. He was around 90, dressed in local color and sporting the customary conical bamboo hat. With hands folded and eyes slightly downcast, he shuffled along in front of me taking the smallest steps humanly possible while I patiently waited for him to pass. I went in to do my business and when I emerged from the store and heading to the next door, there was the old man making his way down the street and I passed him to go in to the next business. Well, of course you know what follows. As I emerge from each business I am met with the little old man still making his way down the street , my image of him shuffling along never changing, as we leap frog each other from store to store all morning long My mom loved that story and it was with her characteristic affection for the aged that she would retell it along with my comical embellishments, for years after. At her funeral service, held at the church on the grounds of one of the original California missions and attended by more than 150 family and friends, the priest pauses for a silent prayer. At that exact moment, a side door slowly opens at the front of the church. An old man shuffles in and without acknowledging anyone or anything, slowly makes his way across the front of the church. He says nothing, looks at no one, doesn't so much as glance at the altar, the priest or a photo display of my mother, and is unphased by the quiet suppressed laughter that starts with my family and begins to spread out to the attendees as he slowly makes his way to the other side and exits as quietly as he came. No one knows, who he was, where he came from or where he went.

  32. Shortly after my grandfather passed,I was alone in my house and I all of sudden got a scent of his cologne (Stetson) which I don't wear or anyone else in my house. And I faintly heard him say "Hello" but I was not scared at all.I think it was him saying Hello one last time.

  33. I've dealt with plenty of strange occurrences... A month after my grandfather passed in the late 80's, I was visiting my grandmother, and I slept in my grandfather's room (yeah, they were the couple that had separate bedrooms, but after 11 kids, it was probably a good idea, lol). Grandma told me to pay attention to the bedroom door, because it would lock, and grandpa wouldn't like it. About 2am, I was woken-up to the sound of the bedroom door being rattled off the hinges. I thought it was my little brother being a little brother, but when I grabbed the door handle to open the door, I got a heck of a shock and felt the vibration... opened the door, and nobody was there (or even awake elsewhere in the house). My wife (then fiance) spent the night in that same room a couple of years later and she was awakened the exact same way (also about 2am). She also said there was a strange glow in the attached bathroom just before daybreak (same night), and the sound of running water. When she went into the bathroom, thinking the toilet was running, but found a little steam on the mirror from running hot water (which was now off), and grandpa's razor was wet on the side of the sink Also, nobody that sleeps in that room can stay on the side of the bed closest to the bathroom... you may start on that side of the bed, but you wake-up on the other side, even if there are two of you in the bed... both of you will be on the far-half when you wake up... apparently grandpa doesn't like anyone sleeping on his side?

  34. The last house I lived in gave me the creeps. It was a fairly recent built home and we were the second owners. The first couple were elderly and both had passed within a few months of each other. Not sure if they passed in the home or not. I was living downstairs and only stayed there for a few months. I had the worst night terrors while there. I would wake up and start yelling at the dark shadow to leave me alone. It would hover in the door way. My cat was always on edge and would let out a nasty hiss for no reason.

Back to a little bit of a serious thing lol. I live in Tennessee which did not vote for Bill Clinton in either of his terms nor Al Gore who is from Tennessee in his (arguable) loss. All you need here to get elected is an R by your name. We have elected state senators and house members with extensive criminal records because they were the "republican" on the ballot. Its so sad. In reality when it comes to national elections and ESPECIALLY the POTUS I am hemmed in. I am a very conservative fiscal person BUT very progressive socially. I want someone who will represent me and that does not occur on the GOP or DEM tickets. I have made a vow to myself to never again vote for anyone with a R or a D by their name for national office. I wish it could become a movement. Politics in our nation has become a sport with people cheering on their team but about as much usable policy has come out of DC in the last 12-16 years as has come out of the NFL. What we need is a strong libertarian leaning independent that can identify with the 60%+ of the country that do not affiliate with either party and are "democrat leaning" independents or "GOP leaning independents" but in reality we are looking for something different. Again in Tennessee it makes 0 difference who I vote for in the Presidential election so I will probably just fish that day.

    Safe?

That's completely subjective and you're likely to get several different responses. Technically, I would say the "healthiest" wattage would be zero watts...as in not vaping at all (while also not smoking). Different liquid flavors, different PG/VG blends, different nic levels, different coils...all are going to have some effect on the wattage. Personally, I usually vape between 3.8 and 4.2 volts on my regulated devices. That is usually determined by the particular liquid I'm using. Some I like a little cooler, some I like a little warmer. The wattage ends up varying a great deal for me based on which tank or RDA I'm using and the coils in those tanks or RDA's. I use anything from .15 ohm coils in my RDA's to 1.2 ohm coils in some of my tanks.

  37. My best vaping place was riding the ski lift with my son this past winter. He was blowing clouds with his latest mech mod & RDA. Me with an IPV mini and Atlantis. Fresh powder with more coming down. And I was able to get oxygen at 11,000 feet without huffing & puffing. And no more trying to light a cig in the wind or taking off gloves to get my nicotine.

  38. Clouds of vapor will always be seen as clouds of smoke. for me personally i vape where ever i want.....out in the open when available and permitted....super ninja when not. People standing or sitting next to me have no idea. However, standing in line at Disneyland, the person behind me couldn't figure out why they kept smelling pancakes(maple syrup) .

The general attitude from people is to hate the " Smoker " as a person, not the cigarette or the tobacco company like in the old days... people don't even understand how hard is to quit smoking... or they don't care....I tried a million things to try to quit smoking, and vaping is the only thing that truly works.

    ipv mini 70watt

I started missing my 30w and had a void to fill in that range. Almost pulled the trigger on another new one when a deal came along on a vapor shark 30w that I couldn't pass up. I started putting money aside for a SX m class till the wife started getting the wants for my shark. She had me pick up a RDNA 40 scratch and dent from vapor shark so she could have my 30. Not like I'm complaining or anything but I would have thought she could wait until I finish building my DNA 40 powered bottom feeder.

    ipv mini 70watt

I have five IPV-minis... three 30W and two 70W, and I love them. As already mentioned, the finish/paint sucks and wears-off quickly where you constantly touch it. Silicone skins or wraps are the instant solution. The silver ones do have "faded" spots, like on your car when the clear-coat wears thin, but it is not nearly as noticeable on the silver or the gold as it is on the black, blue, and pink).

  44. Which further promotes hypocrisy... since the insurance companies don't consider patches or gum as a "nicotine delivery device", because they are backed by big-pharma! Sad, too, because Nicotine has been proven again and again to NOT be the addictive or damaging by-product of tobacco!
