  3. So here's the way it works here. Each group has various sets of permissions. The VT Members and VIP's generally have free rein on the forum with the exception of the staff area. Suppliers have no posting ability on the forum. (A supplier did post today but that's because I missed a permission rule when upgrading the forum this past month, my mistake) Premium Suppliers can post in their own sub forum and also in the classified area. They usually have to pay a small fee per month to do so. This offsets the fact that we'll potentially lose customers to those suppliers. (Which we generally do) If a supplier does spam out of bounds some how or figures out how to game the system, if you report the topic, the staff are usually on it like white on rice At one point in time we actually allowed suppliers to post freely around the forum and for the most part didn't have an issue. Suppliers generally posted genuine content and given their profession often provided good knowledgeable advice. In return for not spamming we allowed suppliers to place a link to their store in their signatures. We got content and they would generally receive clicks to their site through their signature if the members found them helpful. It was a pretty good setup. Especially given that fact that this place runs on the sales through the Vapor Talk store. Because we're one of the larger forums we wanted to allow other suppliers to have a chance. (Morally good. Probably a bad decision business wise) However a few bad apples ruined it for everyone. It became a "yea that product is great, I sell it and love it! See my signature" etc or a supplier would put a banner ad in their signature taking advantage of the fact that signatures could include images. (Thus getting around paying for advertising on the forum) So we did away with it. We also saw a huge drop in sales due to the amount of outbound traffic to 3rd party suppliers. (That's still the case now) There were a few exception though Brian and Compestine. They both started out as regular members, became VIP's and then became suppliers. Because we had a decent relationship with them and knew them well, they got a few grandfather passes and are still able to post on the board. Comp, 99% of the time doesn't promote his store. Everyone knows he has one but generally go to him through his good content rather than him spamming (the way it was supposed to be in the first place) I'd love to open up the forum to suppliers. It's actually beneficial to us in that it provides content, suppliers send their customers to the forum and our members can click on their signatures in return if they like the supplier as a member. Sort of a harmony. But dealing with the spam from suppliers just looking for link juice or cleverly linking to a blog that linked to their store became a pain to moderate. Which sort of sucks for everyone.

  4. I've dealt with plenty of strange occurrences... A month after my grandfather passed in the late 80's, I was visiting my grandmother, and I slept in my grandfather's room (yeah, they were the couple that had separate bedrooms, but after 11 kids, it was probably a good idea, lol). Grandma told me to pay attention to the bedroom door, because it would lock, and grandpa wouldn't like it. About 2am, I was woken-up to the sound of the bedroom door being rattled off the hinges. I thought it was my little brother being a little brother, but when I grabbed the door handle to open the door, I got a heck of a shock and felt the vibration... opened the door, and nobody was there (or even awake elsewhere in the house). My wife (then fiance) spent the night in that same room a couple of years later and she was awakened the exact same way (also about 2am). She also said there was a strange glow in the attached bathroom just before daybreak (same night), and the sound of running water. When she went into the bathroom, thinking the toilet was running, but found a little steam on the mirror from running hot water (which was now off), and grandpa's razor was wet on the side of the sink Also, nobody that sleeps in that room can stay on the side of the bed closest to the bathroom... you may start on that side of the bed, but you wake-up on the other side, even if there are two of you in the bed... both of you will be on the far-half when you wake up... apparently grandpa doesn't like anyone sleeping on his side?

  5. 808s actually did make leaps and bounds in technology over their 510 counterparts back in the day. From the horizontal lr coil cartos, to the regulated 3.7v batts, etc... unfortunately the place i wanted to order from most (v4l), looks as if its going into a death spiral financially. I will probably get most of my stuff through smokelessimage.com and my cartos through halo since they still make and sell lr cartos. Just something easy to carry around, and something that reminds me of the simpler good old days of vaping :-)

  6. I cleaned and re-wicked all of my RTA's last night, and only filled my authentic Russians (with my ADV) so they'd be ready to go this morning. This morning, I reached into my tank rack for a fresh tank, popped it onto my IPV, and took a hit... OMG.. (is someone burning feathers?)... Horrible... worst dry-hit in my life... When I looked down at the smoking mess in my hand, I realized, I grabbed the wrong tank... I grabbed one of the clones I had re-wicked last night (the ones NOT filled)! I just took a 1.2 Ohm / 14W drag of pure, DRY, Organic Japanese Cotton!! Moral of the story... don't grab tanks in a dimly-lit room... you might just get an empty one (and now you have to clean it, re-coi, and re-wick... after you stop choking to death)!

    The South.....

There are many things I LOVE about living in the South. I hunt, I fish and am not scared to eat a chitterling or squirrel brains. I am as proud of my Southern heritage as anyone could be and would live nowhere else. With that said, I am so sick of the bigotry and uneducated decisions made here. I blame religion as a whole because many of the people I know put more stake in what they learn in a 30 minute Sunday School class than in actual school where they teach evil things like science, sex ed and evolution. This is just one of a number of daily news stories like this I see every day. Not too long ago there was a HUGE push in Murfreesboro to not allow a Mosque to be built and the citizens even went as far as trashing and vandalizing the build site with 0 legal ramifications. Now a Tennessee State Trooper has been fired because he is a "black Muslim" as his supervisor referred to him as he was being sent to training on the radicalization of the youth of America. Will it ever stop? Will the people that cling to their rebel flags ever understand this type of behavior is why the flag has to go from all things government and in educational institutions? Will people ever realize that their enjoyment of the freedoms important to them is DIRECTLY dependent on them acknowledging and accepting the fact these freedoms are applied equally to all religious, races and now sexual orientations? Personally I think our nation in the last 6 months has been through one of the most transformative in history and hopefully my children and their children someday will experience freedom because, right now, unless you are a white male Christian, you have yet to truly experience it! Mind boggling: http://www.wbir.com/story/news/local/2015/07/08/judge-fired-muslim-trooper-was-victim-of-discrimination/29869121/ And I am not blaming the flag for anything that has happened BUT think it is a wake up call we need to rid those things with negative connotations from government that is for ALL people. If you want to fly a Nazi flag its your right, just be ready to deal with the ramifications that come from it. Its just like I have always said: Not every Republican is a bigot or a racist BUT when I meet a raging bigot, they are almost always Republican Not every Democrat is a free-loader living off the government BUT when I meet a free-loader, they are almost always a Democrat Not everyone that are proud of Southern Heritage and want to preserve the rebel flag are racists BUT when I see a jacked up old 4x4 with a 4x6 rebel flag flying in the back I seriously doubt they are on their way to a "Unity Rally".

I am a Mech Mod only type of person. Thinking of getting the copper Overdose, like the lines. My Nemesis is my work horse; never fails, just does it's job. As they say, when the end comes, only twinkies, cockroaches and Nemesis left...

    Safe?

That's completely subjective and you're likely to get several different responses. Technically, I would say the "healthiest" wattage would be zero watts...as in not vaping at all (while also not smoking). Different liquid flavors, different PG/VG blends, different nic levels, different coils...all are going to have some effect on the wattage. Personally, I usually vape between 3.8 and 4.2 volts on my regulated devices. That is usually determined by the particular liquid I'm using. Some I like a little cooler, some I like a little warmer. The wattage ends up varying a great deal for me based on which tank or RDA I'm using and the coils in those tanks or RDA's. I use anything from .15 ohm coils in my RDA's to 1.2 ohm coils in some of my tanks.

    Smy 35 broken

If it will only fire when plugged into the USB, then one of two things is happening... 1) The board is shot (charging circuit), or 2) The battery is shot (incapable of holding a charge). Personally, I would recycle it and buy something new, rather than chase-down the issue and try to repair it. There are far too many good APV's out there for cheap prices!

  22. There are clones, average clones, good clones, better clones, and sometimes the clones are better than the authentic! You have to judge the quality and price for yourself. Some good cloning companies are HCigar and Infinite. There are many other cloning companies, some are good, some are garbage. You have to judge the quality and prices for yourself and determine which route you want to go (and how far your wallet will let you).

    Question

Either... but I prefer VW so I can set the preferred Wattage, and the device will adjust the Voltage appropriately according to the resistance of my coil for a consistent vape. Wattage and Voltage are interdependent on each other, based on Ohm's Law. With the coil being a static variable, adjust either Wattage or Voltage, and the other must change to balance the equation (in simplest terms). If you know Ohm's Law, you can set your voltage on a VV device to provide the desired Wattage.

    White castle

I was just in Chicago last month on a work related trip. I only saw one White Castle while I was there, but I wasn't actively looking for them either. Dunkin Donuts, on the other hand, seemed to be on every street corner. I could swear I walked out of a Dunkin Donuts, looked across the street and saw another Dunkin Donuts at one point.

  30. I figured I'd throw out the first "serious" question. Is anybody else bothered by "e-cig suppliers" who post in general topic areas as opposed to the supplier specific areas? I realize I can block those users, but I do actually look at the supplier forums on occasion and it's entirely possible one of them could post something I might be interested in. Maybe it's just me. I run a forum for a scale modeling club I belong to and we occasionally get vendors "spamming" our boards in spite of our rules that clearly say the posts will be removed, accounts will be suspended and their ip address blocked. That's exactly how I see it, by the way...unsolicited spam. For the record, I'm not referring to Compenstine. He is a class act and keeps his company specific posts in the appropriate areas or when it is appropriate to post related information as an answer to a user question.

  31. Thanks for the clarification Christopher. I certainly have no problem with the suppliers. In fact, I check out the supplier forums frequently in an effort to stay up on what new gadgets will be coming out. I may be in the minority, but I'm also a little OCD. . It was bugging me to see it when I knew I had seen a rule against it somewhere...lol.

  32. My best vaping place was riding the ski lift with my son this past winter. He was blowing clouds with his latest mech mod & RDA. Me with an IPV mini and Atlantis. Fresh powder with more coming down. And I was able to get oxygen at 11,000 feet without huffing & puffing. And no more trying to light a cig in the wind or taking off gloves to get my nicotine.

  36. If you see a ad/spam that is not appropriate use the "Report Post" link. The admins here are quick to bring down the hammer on them. I'm grandfathered in because I was member long before I became a supplier. That don't mean I get to post spam or promote my site freely anywhere on the board though. I can loose that privilege very quickly if I were to do that. It is fine line that I'm willing to walk and it is hard sometimes. I'm a member first and a supplier second. Most of the spam I see are from new suppliers that don't register as a supplier. Once registered, they are restricted to where they can post.

  37. I'm not referring to e-liquids, per se. I'm referring to any unsolicited "try this new gadget" or "we sell this item which will work for you" posts when the general topic is related to something entirely different or they are starting their own topic to advertise an item. There is a very specific set of guidelines for suppliers that states they are supposed to post their items for sale in the "Supplier Classified" area or in their own private sub-forum.

    Oak barrels

Not sure it will be the same. Barrels are usually charred and then have the bourbon/whiskey in it for a year or more. This allows the bourbon/whiskey to soak into the charred surface taking on the flavor.

  39. Welcome back, Blu! Nice to see you again. Compenstine used to have a bunch of 808s at Fadora Vapor, if I remember correctly. His site is down for maintenance but you can PM him here. I've moved on to Eleaf iStick 50W for my main battery. The IPV mini and mini2 are okay, but they couldn't compete with the 4400 mAh battery life with the iStick. Pair those with the HH.357 direct drip atomizer from Avid Vaper and I'm a happy camper.
