Flavours and drinks
kitsune and one other reacted to Adversarious1 for a topic
Most of the time I have water or beer while I vape, but there are a couple of flavors I like with very specific drinks. My ADV, which is a lemon & menthol blend from a local B&M goes really well with a drink I like to call a "Tennessee Twister" - Monster Rehab Tea & Lemonade flavor with a shot of Jack Daniels. Then there is PBFB from Fadora. For my taste buds, that pairs surprisingly well with a nice, cold Guinness (or just about any other stout).2 points -
Tapering down

Hi, Denise, and welcome to VT! Nicotine is not the evil that our government and media like to portray it as... yes, it is addictive, but not nearly as addictive (or dangerous) as the 4000+ other chemicals in cigarettes. Nicotine is not carcinogenic (proven by multiple, independent labs, including the CDC/FDA)! There is nothing written in stone that says you must taper down your Nicotine, but if you do, you do so at your own pace... some never lower their levels, some drop 3-6mg/ml ever few months/years. Some people like me use lower levels most days, but still keep some 18-24mg around for really bad days Nicotine is absorbed faster when it is heated... a tank/coil combo running at 2.0 Ohms and low Wattages will not be as hot as a sub-ohm tank running 0.2 Ohms and high Wattages. This is another reason for keeping multiple Nicotine levels around. When I'm sub-ohming, I use 3-6mg, when I'm using a traditional tank, I'm using 9-12mg, and some days higher. Chain-vaping or casual vaping also affect what Nicotine level you want/need... If chain-vaping, you'll want lower levels because you're getting a constant feed of Nicotine. If you can only vape a few minutes every couple of hours (shift work), then you may want much higher levels, to tide you over between breaks? You'll slow the Nicotine at your own pace... or not at all... either way is acceptable, but don't rush the drop if you are trying to wean yourself away totally... Drop your levels too fast, and your body will crave it, and you'll be drawn back to the analogs, have stomach issues, headaches... basic withdrawal symptoms... such as the mood swing you've already experienced2 points -

I've been playing with e-cigarettes off an on for a couple of years. I've been smoking for 20 years. I've managed to quit a couple of times only to go right back to it. Started with the cig-a-likes, which only marginally worked for a couple of weeks, then back to smoking. Then I had an evod I would puff on a bit here and there. Took the plunge due to a sale at my vape shop and just got an istick. I think this was the trick, I haven't even wanted to smoke in 2 days and my juice keeps tasting better. Fingers crossed! Trying to convince the hubby to make the switch too! Well, that's my story, brief though it is. Nice to meet you! :)1 point

About Ask Vapor Talk & Guidelines (READ FIRST)
kerrybishop reacted to Christopher for a topic
In an effort to create some more areas for members to chit chat without it having to be vape related We've created the "Ask Vapor Talk" sub forum. Similar to Reddit's Askreddit you should post broad thoughtful or interesting discussion based questions to the community at large. Questions and topics don't have to be related to vaping. Some good examples (that you're welcome to use) are: What tasty food would be disgusting if eaten over ice? What are some must have Chrome extensions? What's the coolest thing you can buy under $25How do you subtly mess with someone? What's the best movie you've watched the completely twisted your mind?ALL TITLES SHOULD BE IN QUESTION FORM.And so on. Answers do not have to be serious and can be funn. However if you start a thread that you wish to have only serious answers then be sure to tag it with SERIOUS. Staff will moderate off topics and inappropriate replies only on topics that have this tag.1 point -
Tapering down
kitsune reacted to drp2172000 for a topic
I am 6 weeks off traditional ciggs and trying to taper down on the nicotine. Started with 12mg and 30 days later mixed 50/50 12mg & 6 mg = 9mg. I noticed a significant mood change the first week of this change but have since adjusted. I am curious to know how and how often others have tapered down. Is there a specific amount of time that needs to pass before decreasing levels, a suggested timeline? Thanks, Denise1 point -
Hey!!!!! Funny enough I just came back last week, I'm out of the loop too. I still use veteran vaper, VT, ecig express...... They have all been around a while. Not much help with the 808, I'm still. 306 dripper. I still use ego or evod batts. My sweet spot i guess1 point

I don't dry fire my nickel coils. I don't know if this is right or wrong. I have just read that you really don't want to overheat nickel, and it is easy to do. I mainly have quit because I am lazy and I don't have to squeeze the coils since they are not touching...lol Everything you said is exactly the trouble I am having with the SubTank Mini. I have been tempted to grind off the tabs that stick up, but they work so good on Kanthal builds, I don't want to remove them. I am still using mine with a factory OCC .15 coil in it with a backup flavor.1 point

I got a pair from them a while back, and I really like them. I can't tell a whole lot of difference in them and the -25R's, but they are rated higher. One of mine seems to take longer to charge than all of the rest for some reason, but it seems to last as long as the rest.1 point -

Well, here's my first guess as to what is going on.... According to the calculator, 9 wraps should give you (.13) resistance. But you can see that if the coils is wider tthan the posts, tbe wire bends back in and touches itself and probabaly loses a wrap or two of resistance. In any case its messing with the resistance and possibly messing with Your electronics. Try to bend the wire out and then back in to the post if you can. Otherwise you can do more wraps and take the loss in resistance. Also, i wrap the coil as tight as possible then spring it out a little from each end. Then compress it and you'll end up with a tighter coil but not touching. It takes a little playibg around but you get better at it. Wick your coil so it just touches the deck and dont block the juice channels. After you assemble the sleeve, use a needleor something to gently move the wick away from the juice channels without mashing your wick. Prime it up good than put yourcoil cap on and then assemble to tank. You probably need a little less wick than you think. Im a big fan of the closed air hole primer puff to start the wicking action. Close your air off. Couple quick pulls. Open up the air and fire off. If you are hitting your temp limit quickly after a few puffs, it means your wicking isnt working well. Get that wick performing and you will be happy1 point

I hope this solution works for you. It sounds like you have a good customer service oriented shop. I'd take this seriously since there isn't much in eliquid to cause stains. (Disclaimer) I'm not a doctor, nor have I played one on tv, but I did PLAY doctor with the other neighbourhood kids 55 years ago, so you can judge my qualifications.1 point
