Ok, I decided to put my money where my mouth is. I've been saying that nicotine isn't necessarily the bad guy in tobacco products as the government and 'experts' would have you believe. I've been vaping 18 mg nicotine since I started seriously over 2 years ago and that's primarily because that's the strongest readily and easily available online here in Malaysia. I've had the occasional 12 mg product just to try the flavour but it's never been a regular in my arsenal. I've only tried higher doses when I went to the only B & M I've ever seen in Asia. That was in Viet Nam and while trying their sample flavours I took some hits on 24 mg and 36 mg and got quite the buzz. It was momentarily awesome! Kinda like the first time I inhaled a toke on a cigarette. But...... I decided it wasn't good policy to continue as being unconscious in a Ho Chi Minh city back ally didn't seem prudent. Ok, to get to the story.... I've resisted going to lower nicotine content because I don't see any problem vaping nicotine, just like I don't see any problem drinking caffeine in coffee. But it came to the time to resupply and my Sig. Other declared, "The flavours you like are only available in 12 mg right now, so do you want me to order?" I wrung my hands, hemmed and hawed, and as I watched his hand hover over the enter button, finally said, "Ok! Pull that trigger". The juice arrived and with fear and trepidation I opened some bottles and began vaping................ Awesome! No difference that I can tell. No cravings for higher dose. No more or less vaping than usual. Basically it was a no big deal at all kinda thing. I now think I could rather easily vape down to zero nicotine as long as I could still get throat hit, flavour and vapour production and not see much if any effect. This is really good to know in case some regulation tries to limit us. Yet another piece of evidence into what does or doesn't have such a strong hold on smokers.2 points

Maybe not all charts are "crap", but I would say it's more trial and error. Certain juices need more heat while others (like fruit flavors), prefer a cooler temperature. I adjust accordingly for best flavor and say to hell with the numbers.2 points

I have recently switched from 24 to 18. I really had not planned on doing it. I also notice that I am vaping less now than before. I, like Earthling, think I will have to keep some high nicotine stuff around to get through the rough patches!2 points

Gotcha ,i came into this having some knowledge of ohms law, voltage, and wattage due to my a/c and electrical background and guess i forget about those who know nothing about those things, and looking at it from a safety stand point it does make sense for said people1 point

Alergic to ecig? PG or VG?
Tam reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Both PG and VG are "safe", as in food-safe... PG exists in thousands of products you use daily... toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, cough-syrup (just to name a small few). VG is also found in many foods and drinks, as it is a natural (diabetic-safe) sweetener. PG allergies are more common than VG allergies, and both are really rare. PG allergies are a lot like latex allergies... contact causes irritation, and goes away soon after you remove that contact. But, your doctor can test for a PG allergy VERY easily, or you can do it yourself, simply by grabbing pure PG at your local grocery store or pharmacy and rub a little on your skin (arm, leg, stomach, etc.) and see if you get a reaction. If you do, simply wash it off, and the irritation will go away in a short time. I'm with Bebop on this one... if you vaped for 6-months, and never had an issue before now, I'm 99.99999% sure it is NOT the e-cig that is causing the problem. My guess is that you have finally rid yourself of all the toxins smoking has polluted your body with, and couple that with the stress of losing your job recently, and you're a prime candidate for minor stomach distress, ulcers, IBS, heart-burn (and the list goes on)... Either that, or the most recent batch of juice you picked up is bad, old, or your body just doesn't like that brand/flavor?1 point -
vaping chart
jasonculp reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Yes, those charts may not be 100% correct for all combos of tanks, RTAs, RDAs... and all APVs, BUT, they are far from obsolete or incorrect. They provide a good starting point, and also provide a reference-point (for safety) for a new vaper, so they don't pick-up a new Nautilus, 1.6 Ohm coil, and then try to shoot 150W through their coil, causing possible, catastrophic outcomes1 point -

I agree... Thanks Jason! Just what I needed was another mod/tank combo The color scheme is nice, and what would be cool would be to change the button color as well as the tank's o-rings to match... then you could truly customize it. I'm thinking Black/Yellow or Black/Lime for real eye-popping appeal1 point -

Money, Meet Mouth

Same here... started on 18 (and a few 24's)... About 8-months later, my favorite juice was only available in 12mg, so I tried it and didn't die, go into a withdrawal-coma, or even notice... After that, I decided to try things in 3mg (and even cut them lower for RDA use), and happily vape 3-6mg daily now. I can also go nearly a full day without touching a vape, but I think I crave the flavor more than the Nicotine!! However, on a stressful day at work (or home), a few hits of 18mg do take the edge off1 point -
Good for you! I, too, came to the same conclusion last year. When I first started vaping I was on 24 mg nic. Then, nearly a year later I went down to mostly 12 mg. Then, on a whim I tried a few 6 mg and found it good. Less than a month later I had 3 mg juice and it's pretty much been my staple with only an occasional higher mg nic juice for when I can't vape when I want and need to get just a few quick hits. My next big step will be to go to 0 and see where that leads.1 point

advice or input request about bottom coils
BFD reacted to Compenstine for a topic
You can not burn the wick in a stock KPT coil. It is Silica and takes 1300 degrees to even phase it. But, you do run the risk of blowing the coil. What you are doing is called dry burning.1 point -
