Well, after month and months of preparation, and 3 days of getting it all together... I gave my daughter away this evening! I'm happy and sad at the same time... but even though she's now married, she's still my baby-girl, and always will be!2 points -

This was my very first successful attempt at a Clapton coil (second attempt overall). It's a little sloppy, but I'll get better. Even with the sloppiness, I've had two friends make requests for coils. This one took me a total of about about 5 minutes from start to finish. That time included swiping a "Hello Kitty" band-aid from my youngest for my thumb (be careful when wrapping wire around wire for a Clapton coil...you CAN cut yourself, and cutting yourself can put a huge damper in making Clapton coils). This one was 30g wrapped around 22g. I was using it as a learning experience, not for function. I have some 32g and some 36g wire on order. Should look a little cleaner with the smaller gauge wire.2 points -

Today I celebrate the forty second anniversary of my twenty first birthday, and more importantly the completion of two whole years without cigarettes because of vaping. This is a great opportunity to thank y'all for reading my corny poems and stories and song parodies, but mostly I want to thank y'all for the advice, encouragement and support over all these days. You folks here have made this incredible (in my mind) journey so much more enjoyable and rewarding. I can now say with confidence that I am a former smoker, and a current vaper. (I won't say reformed smoker, I won't join THAT club) When I started smoking back in 1964, I had no idea that I was joining a lifelong club committed to one thing. That one thing was to make sure day after day, year after year, and in my case, decade after decade that there were always enough cigarettes and matches (or zippo fluid and flints, or bics or crickets) to make it through the day or night or party or weekend or holiday or occasion. or activity to the point of obsession. It was never far from my thoughts. I learnt from my grandfather to always tap my pockets before leaving for the day for wallet, keys, cigarettes, matches. If all were stocked it was ok to go. Now because of vaping, I've been two whole years without worrying about where the next pack is coming from. How far am I to the nearest seller of cigarettes. Is there a store still open. OMG I'm down to my last three. I hope they sell cigs here. Better stop for cigs before we start on this trip. Better go to this club instead, they sell cigarettes in case we run out. I wish the bell would ring so I can smoke. This plane trip will never end and then the horrible immigration line, so let's see ... how long til I can smoke? Damn! This airport doesn't have a smoking lounge? On and on. Vaping doesn't do that to me. I'm much more serene and less ocd. The side effects of this? No more morning coughing up a lung when waking. No more scrambling for, "where the hell did I leave the cigarettes" when waking. Lower blood pressure and cholesterol. Better sleeping. Climbing stairs without feeling the need to make a heavy breathing phone call. (JK) Less colds and respiratory infections. No more limbs falling asleep or cramping while sleeping. Male function Dramatic improvement in taste and smell. Still can use vaping stuff to have that bad boy James Dean type image without jeopardizing health. No more panic attacks because of not being able to catch breath, or get to the top of the breathing cycle. No more obsessive worrying about this chest xray will be the killer even though of course everyone, especially x smokers are still statistically more likely to get smoker's ailments, the worry isn't there thus improving every day life. It has truly been an incredible journey and again thanks with all my heart to the folks here on VT, and the countless engineers and chemists, both professional and amateur who work so hard to make this activity better and better every day. Finally a huge French Connection United Kingdom off!!!!!!!!! to the FDA, Congress, and Big Tobacco for all their attempts to impede our progress and success.1 point

One of these days I will build me a Clapton coil, you guys are making me jealous lol.Do they take long to heat up when you fire it?1 point

A Fuzed Clapton doesn't have Clapton wires for the core though and this build does and if it was fuzed then the outer wrap would be tight not loose..1 point

How many watts depends on a lot of different factors: what tank you're using, what juice, how much nicotine, your PG/VG levels, etc. Short answer? Start at the lowest setting, vape. If it's not what you want, turn up the watts a little, vape. Repeat until you get a harsher hit than you like or you get a slightly burnt taste to your juice. Lower the watts a little. That should be the sweet spot for that flavor. Some flavors like fruits like it cooler. Some like bakery flavors prefer hotter. It all depends on what you like but start low and work your way higher. If you start high and burn your wick, you'll need to change to coil because that burnt flavor never comes out...1 point

HORIZON TECH ARCTIC TANK SUB OHM 0.2 OHM BTDC COILS AIR CONTROL REVIEW
Earthling789 reacted to Jeffb for a topic
I recently received an Arctic BTDC Tank for review from My Vapedeal http://www.myvapedeal.com/authentic-horizon-tech-arctic-tank-sub-ohm-0-5-0-2-ohm-btdc-coils-air-control.html I received it on Wednesday and immediately was frustrated because none of my units would fire the .2 ohm coils. I ordered an iStick 50W, which I received today. The Arctic BTDC fired right up and I was a happy camper. The 50 & 40 watt settings made the drip tip get too hot for my taste. It was downright uncomfortable. I settled in at 30 watts. I'm really enjoying this tank. The vapor it produces is excellent. The flavor is good and clean at 30 w for me but became muted at the higher wattages. I have not had any dry hits and I believe its due to the 2 large juice ports on the coil. I dont know why I never got into to sub-ohming before, but this tank made a believer out of me. I put my Provari and my tried and true KPT2 in my old vape gear box and I will be using my new set up instead. I highly recommend this tank.1 point -
Yeah, the k100 is just an old school unregulated mod that accepts any 510 device. OP probably doesn't realize that the part he's having trouble with is the part he didn't describe. ...and before anybody posts the smart azz remark after mine, let me just head 'em off at the pass: Ya think? There.... Wait.....maybe he doesn't even know you have to charge the battery.....1 point

Yes, for the price, and the quality of device, the Cloupor is on the top of my suggestion list. The IPV-mini is just so darn comfortable and a solid-device Put one in your hand, and you'll see what I mean! I'm using one right now with my Russian 91% @ 1.3 Ohm and 12.5W... and the flavor is amazing For the tanks you listed above, a 30W device will service you well, but I won't knock the 70W IPV-mini either... if you use the 0.5 Ohm coils with the Nano or Atlantis, you'll eventually want more than 30W of power, depending on the juice, that is. To me, 30W devices handle the needs of the masses... probably 95-98% of all vapers. 50-70W devices are for those who have that at least one RDA or sub-ohm tank and regularly build (or use coils) below 0.8 Ohms... The exception here is the iStick 50W... many people that buy it are not looking for 50W power, they are looking at the 4600mAh battery!! 70W+ devices are for the cloud-chasers and super-sub-ohmers that regularly build below 0.5 Ohm rigs. I've built my RDA @ 0.3 Ohms and pushed it to see how far I could go before the juice tasted like burning trash... and that happened just after 55W. At 40W, it wasn't bad on flavor, but was a tad too warm for my liking, lol.1 point
