  1. Nicotine is not dangerous at all... it is mildly addictive, just like caffeine. Nicotine is also found in EVERY plant, vegetable and fruit on the planet! Eggplant, tomatoes, broccoli, potatoes, squash.... all contain some of the highest levels in fruits/vegetables. One Eggplant has the equivalent of 1/2-1 cigarette per serving! A whole, ripe tomato is nearly the same... Nicotine has never been responsible for a single case of cancer, either. These are facts the government and health officials don't want you to know! There is nothing wrong with wanting to cut away your Nicotine, just like choosing to avoid caffeinated beverages... but don't demonize Nicotine based on the propaganda spewed by the media and health-officials and government entities.

  2. The reason why I recommended the pen style batteries is because they are cheaper and the new vaper can buy two. If his vape budget were bigger, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend an Eleaf iStick 30W or 50W but having no back up when one is charging or should one get lost or break... is not acceptable, especially to someone who is trying to get off and stay off analogs. Back ups. Have them. Then, get back ups of your back ups. You can never have too many.

  3. Just an update. my buddy is now vaping a regulated istick and targets his builds at .5 ohms or above. I have him checking every build and also periodically checking the coils after using for a couple of days making sure there are no big changes. He and I have differing thoughts on what vaping should be (he wants huge clouds and decent flavor, I want huge flavor and decent clouds) but at least we can all be safe. Thanks for the input everybody

I like that the cotton is "certificated," think how much better it could be if it were actually "certified."

  5. Started with ego battery and a t3, Now use a couple of evics and egos, I have switched to protank 2 minis and regular protanks. I rebuild my coils, usually with twisted wire coils. I guess I never really got shinyitus. Got the evic for home use because they last a long time between charges. Hope to learn more.

I wonder if the cotton my LEMO was wicked with is also certificated. There wasn't a certificate in the box and I don't see anything on their website.

  8. I guess I may fall in to the glock fanboy category I carry one fairly regularly but alternate with my full size 1911. Here in NH we can open carry or concealed carry with a permit that can be had for $10 for 4 years Gotta love freedom.

  10. If you're starting with $100 - $150, you need to keep in mind that you're wanting/needing to get a minimum of two batteries to start. At least two tanks and two 5-packs of replacement coils. If you're going to go with something with a removable battery, you'll need to get several of those as well as a separate charger. That doesn't include the e-liquid. If you're going with something like an eGo or Vision Spinner pen style battery, you'll need at least one (preferably two) chargers and a wall wort/AC adapter. In the beginning, you're not going to know what you like so it's going to be trial and error. Small sample packs would be what I'd recommend in a 24 mg nicotine, 50 PG/50 VG blend. An RTA stands for Rebuildable Tank Atomizer. Most often, these are the ones where you build the coil yourself. This requires a working knowledge of Ohm's Law to keep yourself safe, an Ohm meter, tweezers, torch (recommended), wire, wick, and a basic knowledge of batteries, safety and vaping in general. I would not recommend a new vaper start with an RTA. What I would recommend for anyone starting, is a basic pen style battery like a Vision Spinner, a charger, AC adapter, two or three Kanger Pro Tank (KPT) or Pro Tank mini (Anyvape Davide or Davide mini are very similar to the KPT but perform better in my opinion), two 5-packs of 1.8 ohm single KPT coils (all tanks named use the same coil), and some sample packs of different flavors of juice. That would come in around $150 or a little under. For me, I prefer the KISS method when starting something new. You can always upgrade later when you have more knowledge and know what you're looking for and like.

  13. Okay...this is either turning into a hobby, a disease, or a hobby that acts like a disease. Spent more money yesterday and today. Top: Horizon Arctic sub-ohm tank and Sense Herakles sub-ohm tank. Bottom: Aluminum Limitless Sleeve mech mod with extra sleeve. The arctic digital camo on the right is the one that came with the mod, the black one on the left that says #TUGLYFE is the extra. The other side of the black sleeve has the Tugboat logo. My brother, who happens to be a master machinist, has already taken precise measurements of the sleeves and will be making me some more...including sending them out to be anodized. He is going to have me drive up to his factory later next week so he can laser scan the mod and make me a copper one on the CNC machine at work.

This is from last summer and there will be more like it this summer. I can't cook on the pit yet because the dock is not in the water yet and is too close to the pit for a fire.
