Okay, this will be my last public pat myself on the back. I've long long since passed the point of knowing I'll never smoke a ciggy again. Been a great ride in no small part due to the guidance and commraderie found here at VT. I want Christopher and all the guys that put VT here and keep it running to know that I deeply appreciate what you have done for me. Thank you. It is no small thing. I was basically killing myself and now here I stand trying to imagine what a pile Of 15,000 cigarettes would look like - the ones I would have smoked if I hadn't started vaping. So, yeah, I'll pat myself on the back today. But it's really a gesture and acknowledgment to those that had the genius to create the greatest smoking cessation product ever and to those who blazed the trail before me and created a path out of that death trap and especially those that keep the trail wide open for the next guy. Cheers!

  4. Yeah, it's much worse in CA (and many big cities in other states), where the lawyers have made it impossible for anyone to flush a toilet without three letters of intent, a waiver from your cardiologist that it's safe for you to be pushing the handle, and $50M in liability insurance! Here in KY, (in the larger cities) it takes 4 fire trucks to get a cat out of a tree, but a fender-bender takes 30-min for a cop to show up... an hour later, you'll get 2 ambulances, rescue-squad, at least 2 fire trucks, and half a dozen cops. BUT, in the sticks where I live, you can call the Sheriff before you axe-murder a whole bus-load of nuns, and have time to dispose of the bodies and concoct an alibi before ONE cop shows up

  5. I have no problem with 30pg/70vg in my protank 3s. The minis use the same coil, so itll likely work fine as well.

  6. Have you ever tried to drink a think milkshake thru a cocktail straw? That is what using Max VG in any tank is like. high VG is very thick and can't wick into a coil fast enough in any tank system. Like Comp said the thickest liquid for tanks would be 30pg/70vg. And only tanks with larger wicking holes will do it with success. Like the Aspire Nautilus with the newer style BVC coils. Other than that I would suggest any of the newer tanks on the market. Aspire Atlantis, Kanger Subtank, Arctic tank, Melo by Eleaf. With these new tanks you need to have a device capable of handling Sub ohms and higher power needed to run the coils.

    Great post!

Yes, we are the new "smokers", and the ONLY advocates and voices, up against the wolves at the door... the politicians, big tobacco, and the media, which are all about spreading their misinformation so they can continue to set-up the scenario for regulations and taxes! I'm with B... I've seen nothing but positives since I kicked Big-Tobacco out of my life (and wallet)! Well, there is one down-side I've seen, lol... a bad case of shiny-itis... where I have to have the newest piece of vaping hardware

    Great post!

I do not get mad I just tell them since I started vaping I have: Lost 61 lbs Normalized my BP and no longer am treated for hypertension Off anxiety meds except on the worst of days lol. Used to be 3 a day every day My son no longer coughs or has allergy problems My allergy problems disappeared My MD, dentist and every other health professional I know are supportive My monthly savings are over $400 There is more but they usually get the picture with half of these few benefits I have experienced. As I approach two years in a couple weeks I atill have yet to see a down side.

    Great post!

A friend of mine that owns a shop shared this on his Facebook page and I thought it worth passing on. Very insightful and accurate imo. Credit to Eric Peterson, President of the Tennessee Smoke Free Association for this: "Advocacy vs. Public Belief I am concerned that as this war on ecigs escalates, the real reason for the product is falling to the waste side. With big tobaccos push for misleading, false, and fear mongering tactics, vapers are the new "smokers". So many people come to me now and say "you know those are worse for you than a real cigarette". When they were asking "do those work for you?". With all this taking place I still see a part of vaping moving towards a sport lifestyle, the cloud comps, the "freedom clouds" way of thinking, and so on. (Which I have done as well) Then there are the vapors that you don't see. The people that go to the shops to get their coils and some juice for their starter kit that they have used for a year and a half. They don't come to the vape meets and that's ok. We all have one thing in common here. WE QUIT SMOKING! This is the one and only purpose for vaping. We all are responsible for the public belief. We all are the face of vaping. We are what the public sees. Our actions can confirm or disprove our opposition. A year ago I relized I had to make a choice with how I would be as an advocate. Truth is anyone that vapes is an advocate so how will you represent vaping and the Public Belief?"

  11. Bebop, I had to call the police the other night for something. 6 flipping cars showed up with lights flashing. One cop could of taken my report and defused the whole thing. But NOOOOOOO!!!! They had to bring the whole damn county with them...

    High vg/Max vg tanks?

I use as high as 30/70 in my pro tanks with no problem, however, I do rebuild my own coils and I make my coils a little larger than stock and take care to wick them in a way that promotes wicking action. (increased diameter, japanese cotton and the proper amount)

  14. At least the article is fairly honest with regard to source. It clearly names WHO as the instigator and driving force. It also gives factual data on the number of incidents and the dangers of consumers misusing the equipment. There are some positives there. But as Earthling states there is an agenda and this is the beginning of legitimizing the "war on vape". It only goes downhill from here, sad to say. There is a ton of tax money and government job justification in the balance. And we know how that plays out. Best we can hope for is to delay the inevitable. I hate to be so cynical but history has shown this is the way it goes. I havent even looked yet - is that a crab pot?

  15. Thanks for the read... and your brother is one smart cookie for knowing the meat of the pamphlet has to do with the possible cause of fire due to Li-Ion battery charging issues... Sadly, the pamphlet is written with a ton of info from WHO, FDA, FEMA, and other politically oriented organizations that slanted a lot of the wording and data to show e-cigs as a demon to be eradicated (or at least sin-taxed). I understand the need of fire personnel and investigators to know the potential issue with Li-Ion batteries, but how does this info assist a first-responder? Other than to aid the propaganda-machine to now blame all fires in the homes/vehicles/work-places where vaping gear is found... on the vaping gear! This is just like how the doctor listed the cause of death of my grandmother as "smoking related", even though she died of passive heart-failure in her sleep at the age of 97 (just because she smoked 2-packs a day). She also drank 2-6 beers every day of her adult life, but they didn't list her cause of death as alcoholism... because that doesn't fit their agenda!

  17. I don't know.....at nearly $2.50 a coil I don't think that's such a great deal. Trouble with these high performance coils is they are great for a few days and then they drop off quickly. If you are a heavy vaper then you're looking at a little expense but if that's cool then no big deal. But then if you like to tinker then you could get in to rebuilding it using the RBA function and it may be okay.

  22. Yes it is important when your buying e-liquid to know the pg is always first. Some companies do not state pg or vg on a bottle they just assume that you know that already. Some companies dont list it at all. Welcome to VT

    High vg/Max vg tanks?

Comp knows. But its always pg/vg ratio, That is the industry standard. Not vg/pg ratio. Took me a bit to get this as well. Now I know. And welcome to VaporTalk namegame.

    High vg/Max vg tanks?

I know from personal experience that 35pg/65vg can be handled by a Kangertech SubTank mini. I am currently running it with Sicker Than Most by Sicboy, 35%PG/65%VG. And the stock .5 coils seems to be keeping up after 2 days of chain vaping and 3 tankfulls

  25. Most Tanks are not good for Max VG juices. The max ratio I do is 30pg/70vg in any tank. Depnding on the tank that can even be too high.

Well said bebop.....and bc. My sentiments exactly. My 2yr anniversary is on the near horizon as well. April 19 I think. I have the date written on the pack I have with me sitting in the console so I always have a reminder and something to show those who ask about vaping. I very rarely ever think about cigs anymore, although I did have to dive into the stale last pack a couple days ago. A guest at my house for Easter dinner got a bee sting. Maybe tobacco is useful for something, afterall.

    Great post!

Great words from all. Does anyone else get extremely mad like I do when someone says to you that vaping is very bad and very dangerous. I've only had it happen one time to me and I could feel my blood start boiling...If it wasn't an old lady in a wheel chair with a broke foot I would have laid into her.

    Great post!

Wow awesome. I agree with him. His "we sre the new smokers" comment is right on and not to be taken lightly. For the last 6 months or so my wife has a co-worker who "knows all about vaping". This guy has been feeding my wife a constant stream of regurgitated anti vaping info. In every case I have sent my wife all of the debunking articles related to all of his attacks which she forwards to him faithfully. Finally, after 6 months he has stopped feeding her this BS. But I'm not betting he isn't spreading this stuff around elsewhere. THis is a real attack and I think we take for granted sometimes that we have it easy because we right now it is easy but the day approaches when that ends and we find ourselves the new "sinners" and the sin tax starts.

  38. You are right Earthling, Not that I don't want the sales... I just know I'm not the only game in town and there are a lot of good juices out there. I may be small but I do know my customers and give them personal service. I do have some flavors that are unique to my business. The Hydra series is one example. Between those the Futti-Tutti and PBFB are my main sellers and worth a try. I may not have fancy packaging and B&W labels but it does help keep my prices down so I can give more time and effort to what is really important, the Juice that is in the bottle.

    Vape catching fire

Sounds to me like your coils are not balanced (same resistance on each side), and cotton bursting into flames is almost unheard of, unless the cotton was extremely dry, which should not have happened unless your "few drops" didn't reach that particular piece of wick. Pull both coils, and trash them. Rebuild two new IDENTICAL coils of twice the resistance you are targeting... if you want 0.5 Ohm from your RDA, then you must build two, identical 1.0 Ohm coils. Ensure they are seated firmly, and the screws are TIGHT. Then, most importantly, use your Ohm reader (if you don't have one, you need to get one, yesterday) to read the resistance and check for shorts before placing it on your MOD and firing it. Test-fire the coils to ensure proper burn (inside > out) and tweak them with tweezers until you get the proper burn. Do this BEFORE you add wick and attempt to use it. Safety First... safety second... safety always!
