  1. Now that I'm back in an office (not working from home), I have had LOTS of opportunities to talk to even more people about vaping! One of my co-workers had tried vaping a while back, and basically started out with an over-priced eGo from a smoke-shop... no support, no knowledge, and obviously gave it up rather quickly... She was asking about what I used, and what would be good for her to get started again. She wasn't really wanting to spend another $100 and get nothing out of it, so I set her up with one of my iStick 20W and a KPT2 as a loaner. I went with her on lunch today and helped her pick out a juice at the local vape shop, which fortunately was only a couple blocks from the office. I showed her how to adjust the Voltage / Wattage, disassemble the tank, fill the tank, change the coils, etc., and I also gave her a handful of coils I had re-built @ 2.2 Ohm (which are perfect for the iSticks!). Well, she just sent me an email, asking if I would sell her the iStick and tank, because she doesn't want to give them back She's hooked! She also wants me to go back with her tomorrow, so she can buy another battery and more tanks/coils/juice. I told her the blue iStick and KPT2 would be my gift to her, and I had a silver one I'd sell her for what I paid for it (from the VT store), to save her some $ over retail.... So, I guess tomorrow we'll be off to the vape shop again for more juice and additional tank shopping, lol. I think I'm nearly as excited as she is

It's okay Jason... I hear there's a 12-step program just for us... 12 steps to this vape store... 12 steps to the next vape store... 12 steps to the computer...

Aw, and I was going to guess: If you're going to ride my @$$, at least pull my hair. Honest to God, that was the bumper sticker on a mini van full of Mom and four kids this morning. Nearly went into a ditch I was laughing so hard.

For one thing, Tam drives an Impala, not a mini van. Tam also does not have kids. Tam is also looking around so she can get this same sticker for her own car. I'm not one for stickers or anything on my vehicles (most especially NOT bumper stickers!), but I may make an exception for this one.

  15. Learn to walk before you try to run. There's nothing wrong with a pen-style battery, they're good, dependable no-fuss batteries perfect to get to know your way around. When you're more comfortable and have learned about different coils, ohms, cleaning, maintenance, etc. then, you can easily move to the next level.

sub ohm help for a co-worker

Verify exactly what the batteries are. No "think" about it. The battery must be rated higher than 35amps on that .12 build. (.12 is too low for somebody who doesnt know what he's doing!) See thread where guy who didn't know what he was doing blew up his hand (and got lucky he moved it away from his face!!)

  25. The Wattage range will depend on the juice. Some juices will go up to 20W without tasting burnt or even "hot", and some will start to get that burnt taste at 11W. There is no "one size fits all", which is why devices are variable, and why there are so many choices in coil resistances If that juice tastes good at 12W, then that is where you should leave your setting. If you try to go higher, bump it up a tiny bit, try it, bump it again, try it, etc. Once you start to taste a little "burnt", then back off your setting a bit... 0.2W or more, and that is the "sweet-spot" for that juice. And, yes, pushing any coil at high wattages will shorten their life-span, but also, it depends on the coil...

  38. Hahaha... yes, I meant CAT hair, lol... stupid auto-spell.... I told Tug that his stand would be delayed a couple days because my cat had decided it would be a good idea to lay on it (about 4-5 hours after applying the last coat of satin)... I would have loved to have seen the look on his face when he stood up and that big chunk of wood followed him off the table Seeing that would have made the extra time spent sanding and re-applying polyurethane worth every minute!!

Welcome Reasoned. Couldn't agree with Tam and Bebop more. Start higher and work your way down gradually. If you were a 1 1/2 pack a day and 12mg of nicotine are not cutting it go up to 18mg. Find yourself a good tank to go with that spinner that is easy to maintain. Like a KangerTech Aerotank. Coils can be fairly inexpensive. Especially if you get them online. Always look for genuine never buy ones that claim to be and are knock-offs. Check the Vaportalk Store or check out the suppliers forums, there are good online stores there, like Sweet-vapes. Ah crap didn't read you post fully. From what I understand the Ego1 is a good newer one. The spinners can be a good back-up, as you have already found out and Tam will repeat this a hundred times, "you need back-ups for your back-ups." Wait she already has. LOL.

  45. When it comes to cleaning, I tend to unscrew / remove everything I can, but in all honesty, when it comes to the deck, there is very little places that oil can get into that hot water, soap, and "running" hot water can't reach. Vodka or pure-grain alcohol (Ever Clear) will remove anything else left behind (and will remove water from the crevices). Pay close attention to the threaded areas, those tend to be the real "pockets" for oil. I use an old toothbrush for cleaning threads!
