You probably nailed it Jason... The vape-shop owner will contact a lawyer, and they'll tell them to settle out of court for $10K and his medical bills because vaping is a "fledgeling" industry and there are no precedents to cover the shop. And everyone wonders why our insurance costs for home/auto/life keep skyrocketing!! Sadly, there are precedents of people using a product improperly... stupidity has a price... this guy paid it, and just wants someone to give him a winning lottery ticket... and, since the shop doesn't have the logo for Toyota or Ford or IBM or Pfizer, or DOW or [insert big company name here] on their building, they won't be able to fight it with a team of million-dollar law-firms behind them. So, yet another stupid person (who isn't so stupid they can't hire a cut-throat ambulance-chaser) will get another lottery win, compliments of our legal system.2 points -

I am totally ashamed that this guy is a Texan. I can't believe this is even going to court. The news makes very little mention of how it happened. If you are not familiar with these products you would just think that he was carrying a standard "e-cigarette". Do you think Autozone is going to pay you if you take the battery out of your car and dump the acid on yourself? I guess stranger things have happened and their liability insurance will probably pay out for some undisclosed amount, and the black eye will stay on the Vaping community and this Vape Shop.2 points -

Man I really gotta start DIY'ing. Spent 35 bucks on juice today. And that's only cuz I had a 5 dollar rewards coupon. 40 bucks a week ain't cheaper than smoking anymore.2 points -

CoilMaster 5-in-1 coil winding tool
GeorgeF reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
The folks at Coil-Master.net were kind enough to send me one of their new coil winding tools for evaluation and review. I have no clue on the retail cost from online retailers, or if the V|T Store will carry them, but from the manufacturer, they're $25.99 (and they offer $5 coupons), so this 5-in-1 tool runs about the same price as ONE Kuro Koiler. My first impression is that they are straight, smooth, and well-built tools. The diameter of the coiler body is slightly smaller than a Kuro Koiler, but still easy to handle. The mandrel diameters offered are 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm. I have not verified the sizes with a micrometer, but I will (as soon as I get a chance). It also comes with a decently-made pouch to carry/store the handle/mandrels in. The finish and labeling seem to be well done, but there is a slight bur on the exit-side of the wire-hole (next to the mandrel). It's not a bad bur, but a raised, rough spot where the hole was drilled. It does not seem to affect the function, nor does it appear to nick the wire, but if it does, it's nothing that can't be fixed with about 2-seconds and a Dremel Tool. I do wish the screws were a tiny bit easier to turn with your fingers, and the "typical blue" allen-head screwdriver is a bit cheezy, but functional. I think a real, right-angle allen-wrench would have been more appropriate and easier to work with / manipulate. I'll give it a thorough work-out this weekend, as I need to re-coil a few of my RTA's, and I need to rebuild a couple of KPT coil-heads, too. More review to come....1 point -

Bananas are fine. Anything high in citrus, cinnamon and/or mint are known "tank crackers". It won't happen right away, but they can crack plastic tanks with time (sometimes, it takes only a short while).1 point

Top comment says it all... it's NOT an e-cig battery... it is a high-drain INDUSTRIAL cell, the same type/style used in industrial battery packs for laptops, cordless power-tools, flashlights, etc. etc. etc.... it's not the manfacuters fault if he stuck it in his pocket with loose change or his keys, where it could short-out. Sure, the battery may have been a cheap-o, but improper storage/transport is HIS fault! There should be a law banning the existence of lawyers People have the right to be stupid, but they also have the right to be branded as stupid... this guy has his brand/marks to prove it....1 point -
I guess we need to send @TugBoat to check on his neighbor down there. I saw this on the Lubbock news said he wanted $1,000,000.00 for medical bills and missed work. http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2015/03/11/arlington-man-sets-crotch-on-fire-sues-vape-shop-over-exploding-e-cig-battery/ He apparently put a loose battery in his pocket...and it is the vape shop's fault, and the manufacturer. I got a piece of screwdriver in my arm trying to use it as a chisel...can I sue snap-on?1 point

^^ This ^^ Also remember, it is VV OR VW, not both at the same time. You set the Voltage, the mod reads the resistance of the coil, and provides the correct Wattage based on Ohm's Law.... OR... you set the Wattage, the mod reads resistance, and applies the correct Voltage to provide the Wattage you specified. This tends to be confusing for someone who has never used one before, but as long as you realize you can only set ONE variable, not both at the same time, you're golden Start at a low setting, either in Wattage or Voltage mode... vape, add more power/Voltage, vape, repeat... once you get a slightly burnt flavor you know the upper limit of the juice has been reached. Go through the loop on the adjustment again, to select a notch or two lower than where you tasted a little burnt flavor... that should be the sweet-spot for that juice/tank/coil combo. If you change juice, tank, or coil resistance, you may need to dial-in for a new sweet-spot.1 point -
