So i have been a smoker for about 13 years. It was hard to believe it when I first realized that! I recently had my first child and said I would quit when he was born. I found myself smoking in the parking lot of the hospital. I then told myself I would quit smoking on my 30th birthday (several months later). I was semi-successful, but found myself substituting with snus. I wasn't smoking much at home, but I would smoke at least a pack a day when at work. I have a stressful job and I am in a car a lot, both are smoking triggers! In the past I tried the Blu's and other comparable ecigs. Not much help. I also bought an ego. It didnt help me at the time. I was semi committed to quitting, but i tried to mimic smoking with tobacco flavored juice. I found out quickly that NO juice can replicate smoking a cig. So i continued to smoke. I tried to quit again using Snus, using my son as the reason. My Snus use increased, and I was down to a pack a month. But, in my stressful job, and driving all the time, it wasn't hard for a co-worker to bum me a smoke. I also made an excuse saying that I could buy just one pack a month. Anyway, this is getting longer that I wanted! I purchased an Evod 2 starter kit with two juices... Gummy bear and tobacco. The tobacco didn't taste like smoking and the gummy bear was tasty! I thought to myself, perhaps i need to find something better than smoking, instead of trying to find an equal replacement. I then ordered 3 flavors from Fandora... PBFB, Fruity Tootie,, and Hydra Delight. I also went to the local shop and purchased a few new tanks to hold the new juice (mini protank 3's) The PBFB was purchased due to all of the great reviews on this site. When I opened it, I could smell the peanut butter. I tried it, and it definitely tasted like the description! It was good, but I have never been a desert person. The more I used it, the more I liked it. I always felt like I needed to be sitting with a glass of milk though! I then tried the tootie fruity. I was hooked! It was great! This was my kinda flavor! It has subtle changes and a hint of cream. I then went to the store to get one more tank to try the hydra delight. They didnt have anymore Tanks that would use the same coil that the Protank used. I went home and rinsed the tank out that used to hold the tobacco flavor. I couldn't get rid of the tobacco flavors smell until i boiled the tank for 7 minutes. I filled it with the hydra delight from fandora. Holy Crap! This is delicious! This is by far the best tasting juice i have had. I like my variety, but i have to make sure i get some more Hydra Delight! I just wanted to share my experience. If you are a smoker, don't try to duplicate the flavor with vapor. You can get even better results vapin, but nothing mimics it.1 point

Milestone

After vaping on and off for a couple years now and still smoking a few cigarettes this current attempt, I have now reached my first milestone. I've gone over 24 hours and not a single cigarette. This may finally be it for me and I'm pretty excited I think I finally found the right type of setup and vv/vw has been my game changer. Very happy right now and just wanted to share.1 point -
I did it!

So 2 packs a day equals 400 hits. Wow I'm like WAY over at 1000 plus! No wonder I'm so happy. I was really restricting my smoking pleasure when I was using cigs.1 point

Hi Duke - I have the MVP2 as well and have left it on charge overnight and have never had a problem it is safer however to have it charged while you're conscious in case it does go wrong1 point

Minus something here tonight. -15 to -25 with the wind chill tonight and tomorrow. Went to the grocery store tonight and it actually hurt. Didn't get much snow but had a big ice storm...1 point

Well, as I'm the butthead still smoking around here I'll let cha know something. With my full flavor 100's, I get 10 puffs off of a cig. Yes, I counted...lol I counted so I could compare when I vaped so I could adjust my nic level to my current smoking... If my nic level is where It needs to be, then the puffs should be the same when I vape...And that is why I'm between 24mg and 36mg right now...1 point

They are ridiculously heavy.I put one in my pocket at my B&M just to see if it would be a pain to carry around and it nearly pulled my basketball shorts down.lol it's like a damn boat anchor.I have heard they are workhorses1 point

101Vape.com has the VTR on clearance for $55. Could it be that Innokin is stopping production, and perhaps coming out with an updated VTR or something new? Still, I can't push the IPV-mini's hard enough... but if you wanted a VTR (as a self-defense weapon, lol), $55 is a bargain1 point -

Happy Birthday Volta

Today is Alessandro Volta's birthday, he is an Italian Physicist who invented the battery in 1799. Sorry if I placed this in the wrong sub forum, but he is responsible for one third of vaping.1 point -

Congratulations! That's awesome. I remember that first day like it was yesterday, and it was actually almost 2 years ago. This is the only thing that's worked keeping me off cigarettes after almost 50 years of 2 packs a day. Just keep in mind that nicotine isn't the only addictive substance in cigarettes. There are many chemicals that to my experienced mind are far more addictive than nicotine. Vaping helps quit yes because of the nicotine content, but also the hand to mouth habit and the cloud produced. I also needed the throat hit and that was probably the most valuable thing for me. It's helpful to keep the nicotine content high in the beginning to keep those cravings at bay. I wish you the best because if a die hard smoker like me can, you probably can too.1 point -

Yeah, it's easy to drop big money on vape gear on the initial start-up and initial "intermediate" gear, but the nice thing about buying quality gear and good batteries is that you won't have to replace them for a year or two (or more).... you'll only ADD to them You're welcome for the info... glad I can help ! Oh, and the mini2 is a nice unit, but if you aren't intent on dripping, save yourself $15-20 and buy the original mini (~$50). Other than using my RDA, I have no use of going over 20W on any of my tanks or RTAs.1 point -

I've been vaping 8mg. My last order with Comp had some 20mg and I've been using is sparingly. Other than it being my absolute favor juice (PBFB), I've found I crave it so much less. I'm no scientist but there has got to be more addictive ingredients in analogs. The way I would jones for a cigarette compared to my need to vape is marked and profoundly different.1 point

Yes, 4000 + chemicals... some studies have identified even more than that (from some brands). Vaping works for the masses because it provides nicotine, visible vapor, and feeds the need for hand-to-mouth habits... things that gum/patches/pills can never do1 point -
Quitting smoking
ecignut reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
The way to quit smoking by substituting vaping is simple... but it's in this order... Willpower High enough level of nicotine level to help stave off cravings Willpower Good tasting juice (fruits, candy, bakery... all good things to get you away smoking) Willpower Reliable tank and battery (at least two of each so you can switch flavors and have one charging while you use the other) Willpower A good support-group, like the fine folks on this forum!! PS, don't feel bad if you don't quit tomorrow... it's not an Olympic event, not a race, and there are no penalty points for having to have a few smokes as you get into vaping... everyone is different!1 point -
