  1. Two Eleaf iSticks, one in blue and one in a red that looks more like a hot pink/magenta from the Vapor Talk store. Also in the box was one Vision charger (I ordered 4 originally so I'm in contact with the store to get it made right). Like Phil Busardo said in his youtube vid, these do tend to run a little hot so I have a 2.0 ohm HH.357 vaping like a champ with the eGo adapter at 6.0 watts. It hits like my Vision Spinner does at 4.3 volts. I really like these tiny things. Thanks, Earthling, for talking me into buying them. The EHPro Stillare RDA from Madvapes also came in today. It's an older model, which I wanted. Playing with it will have to wait until the weekend when I can spend more time building some coils for it and my Koh Gen Do organic cotton pads come in from Amazon.

  2. Yes, you can charge it with a higher mAh wall charger, but this is straight from Innokin: This product is intended for use with the charger provided with the unit. We recommend you always use a high quality 5V 500mA USB wall charger (CE/UL Certified). Use of unauthorized chargers may lead to overheating and possible burning of items in contact with the unit. Innokin Technology is not responsible for battery and charger explosions, fires or malfunctions due to the use of a low-quality charger. This product does not come included with any wall charger Using a 500 mAh charger will generally take ~ 3 hours to fully charge the MVP (from fully depleted). Using the USB port on your PC, provides a maximum 500 mAh charge rate, but typically only provides an average of 350-400 mAh (depending on load on your PC's power supply, your PC could actually DRAIN the battery during peak-load-times), thus extending the charge-time to 4 hours, or longer. A great majority of people will charge devices which come with ONLY a USB cable strictly via PC USB port, which is why I gave the 4-6 hour estimate. Using the appropriate wall-wart charger, will shorten that time to 3-hours. Charging via a higher mAh rated wall-wart will speed the process, but depending on the charging circuit of the MVP, it may not allow it to reach more than 70-80% charge (by stopping the charge-cycle after reaching Stage-1), thus reducing the run-time between charges (but this may increase the life-span of the battery). Furthermore, if the circuitry does not stop charging at Stage-1, or quell the charge-cycle properly to Stage-2 by reducing the current, the battery may overheat, become stress-damaged (shortening the life-span), or possibly experience catastrophic failure. Here's some more info on Li-ion battery charging, courtesy of Cadex: The charge rate of a typical consumer Li-ion battery is between 0.5 and 1C in Stage 1, and the charge time is about three hours. Manufacturers recommend charging the 18650 cell at 0.8C or less. Charge efficiency is 97 to 99 percent and the cell remains cool during charge. Some Li-ion packs may experience a temperature rise of about 5ºC (9ºF) when reaching full charge. This could be due to the protection circuit and/or elevated internal resistance. Full charge occurs when the battery reaches the voltage threshold and the current drops to three percent of the rated current. A battery is also considered fully charged if the current levels off and cannot go down further. Elevated self-discharge might be the cause of this condition. Increasing the charge current does not hasten the full-charge state by much. Although the battery reaches the voltage peak quicker with a fast charge, the saturation charge will take longer accordingly. The amount of charge current applied simply alters the time required for each stage; Stage 1 will be shorter but the saturation Stage 2 will take longer. A high current charge will, however, quickly fill the battery to about 70 percent. Li-ion does not need to be fully charged, as is the case with lead acid, nor is it desirable to do so. In fact, it is better not to fully charge, because high voltages stresses the battery. Choosing a lower voltage threshold, or eliminating the saturation charge altogether, prolongs battery life but this reduces the runtime. Since the consumer market promotes maximum runtime, these chargers go for maximum capacity rather than extended service life. Some lower-cost consumer chargers may use the simplified “charge-and-run” method that charges a lithium-ion battery in one hour or less without going to the Stage 2 saturation charge. “Ready” appears when the battery reaches the voltage threshold at Stage 1. Since the state-of-charge (SoC) at this point is only about 85 percent, the user may complain of short runtime, not knowing that the charger is to blame. Many warranty batteries are being replaced for this reason, and this phenomenon is especially common in the cellular industry.

  3. Christmas in my mailbox this morning Two ELeaf iSticks (silver and blue) and a pack of Nautilus BVC. The Samsung batteries were purchased locally on sale (and I grabbed the last 5)! I already have a blue iStick, but the one that arrived today will be a birthday gift for a friend (unboxed it to inspect and charge it).

  4. My stuff came in yesterday and I mixed up my first batch of e-juice last night. Since I like Suicide Bunny's Sucker Punch, I decided to try to make something that resembled that recipe. I made a 10ml batch with these ingredients: 4.2ml 36mg Nicotine Juice (50/50) .8ml Propylene Glycol 2.9ml Vegetable Glycerine 1.2ml Dragonfruit flavoring .6ml Barvarian Cream flavoring .2ml Amaretto flavoring .1ml (2 drops) Sweetener Targeting a 15mg/ml concentration of nicotine in this batch... I mixed this up really well and let it sit overnight. This morning I cleaned a Nautilus Mini tank and put a new coil in it. I loaded up the e-juice and let it sit in the tank for 30 minutes or so to saturate the coil. I'm really stoked with the flavor of this! As for matching the Sucker Punch, it's fairly close. I may need to back off the Barvarian Cream just a tad and add a little more dragonfruit, but I'm calling my first attempt at this a success! I can't wait to try this again with some of the other flavors I bought! I also need to go find some 1ml syringes so I can make sure my measurements are more accurate. I have some 3ml and some 10ml syringes and they worked really well for this recipe...

  5. rubbing alcohol or everclear. everclear would probably work better as it has a very high alcohol content and no flavor. the idea is to soak the coil and tank in alcohol for a couple hours which will help break up and remove juice residue buildup on the wicks and coils and gets rid of any lingering bad flavors that might have contaminated your tank/wick. then remove the tank and coils from the alcohol and rinse under warm water and let them air dry on the counter. once dry, reassemble juice it up and give it a try. If the coil is still good, it should perform and taste like new again.

  6. it's called the Aspire "CF Mod" It's basically a hybrid mod that is a cross between a mech mod and a ego battery... it turns on and off like an EGO, and has short protection and low voltage protection, but other than that: it works like a mech mod in the fact it fires sub ohm, and gives straight battery power from an 18650 battery. They also have the "CF Sub" which is for the most part the same thing, but the battery is not removeable and takes a special charger...not ideal in my book because when the battery needs a recharge, the mod is useless until it is charged and you are without a battery for 4hrs vs the CF mod you just have more than one 18650 battery, and swap the battery out of the tube to a fresh battery and throw the other on the charger and you are back in business in a few seconds. The coils do seem to last a while. She has been using the same coil since christmas eve, and hasn't had any issues with it. Usually when her tanks stop performing as well or get a funky taste, she will let them soak in alcohol for a couple hours and rinse them off and air dry them on the counter, put them back together and continue using them. She has gotten a good month + out of her nautilus coils by doing this. Coils usually last quite a while, just wicks end up getting gummed up by the juise residue and need cleaned. silica wicks that these things typically run do not get burned and are burn resistant vs cotton wicks in rebuildable tanks (like my kayfun) burn easily and need changed out regularly to maintain performance and flavor. Unless you get a bad coil or are having leaking problems, coils usually last quite a while. the atlantis comes with a spare coil and a spare pyrex glass section of the tank as well.

    Spring loaded 510 - iStick

This is my first attempt at 3D printing (Shapeways). I made a new top cap that will work with the VariTube spring loaded 510 connector. This is version 1. Version 2 will be about the same (it is already on its way). I am going to have to fix a few things in version 3...lol It takes a little force to get it on, and I missed the radius just a hair on the front side. I also made the holes too small for the screws. This thing really doesn't make a lot of sense, because the new version (30watt iStick) fixes the issues. It also costs about $20 by the time you get the 510, printed cap, and shipping for all of it, and iSticks are going for around $30 and up. I just wanted to see if I could do it.

  11. I rarely turn off any of my eGo's, MVP, iSticks, IPV, etc., unless I'm traveling with them and fear buttons may be pressed in transit (like if in my pocket).... I'm sure there is some type of minimal drain on the APVs (due to circuitry), but it is negligible in the grand scheme of things.

  14. I love mine! I don't use mechanical mods much any more. I enjoyed it because of its simplicity. Be careful with it though, the semi-hybrid top, no lock, and no adjustments makes it easy to auto fire!
