Bump when you get something in vape mail.
@hope_photography123 and 2 others reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Will wonders never cease? My IPV-mini arrived this morning! This thing appears small, but is exactly the same size as my MVP 2.0 (yet slightly heavier with battery installed), and is far more ergonomic... I could actually stand it to be slightly larger, at least in the width. Still stalking the mailbox for my iSticks, Nautilus coils, and Kayfun V43 points -
Looking for that sweet spot.

I wouldn't want to be a hypocrite by promoting lots of back ups if I didn't have a few myself. LOL. Yes, watch out for Earthling and Joejoevapekins. They're very helpful when it comes to emptying out my bank account. That said, I must say they only recommend the very best.2 points

I lost count of all the various tanks I have as back ups but I mostly use the Custom Cisco Hybrid HH.357 atomizers at 2.0 ohm right now. I also have about five or seven RDAs... Yeah, way too many but I'm planning to give some of my older back ups to people who are looking to get off cigarettes.2 points

Steeping is a fallacy that was originally started by juice makers to respond to complaints. They would tell the masses that the juice will taste better after sitting for 3-4 weeks. People want to believe it taste better so in their minds it does. Dont believe the steeping proponents. They are weak minded.2 points

The culture of smoking vs vaping
Starre LaBell reacted to JohnnyFog for a topic
I'm new at this concept of vaping, the equipment, and the 'culture' of it all. I'm learning about it as I go. This forum is introducing me to a lot of new 'culture' and concepts. My visits to my local vaping shop is helping also. As a person who started vaping to replace cigarette smoking, I'm seeing some things that simply strike me as 'extremely different' in the technique of 'smoking.' As a smoker, I would simply take puffs from a cigarette into my mouth and then inhale the smoke. I never took long slow drags from a cigarette directly into my lungs. I never really noticed if my fellow smokers were doing that either when smoking together. In the vaping community (I first noticed this on my visits to the local shop) it seems that the long slow direct inhale technique that produce these huge clouds of vapor on the exhale is the norm. When I go into my local shop, there are usually 3 or 4 people in there and it's literally like a fog bank inside the store and since the weather is cold, the shop storefront windows are usually fogged over! The more I read here about 'mods' and special builds on the battery equipment, I think the huge vapor cloud is the main objective. Maybe someone can educate me on the differences or gains to be had with this technique? I have experimented with these long direct inhale drags on the vaporizer, but just being a week or so off regular cigarettes, I can still gag myself with the vaporizer...1 point -
Regular ProTank vs. Nautilus Aspire?
Earthling789 reacted to jasonculp for a topic
This is another strange thing about flavor/heat/airflow make it hard to find the right combination for yourself. I have found that if you change any one of the 3 it can drastically change your perception of the juice. When I took a juice I love and tried to run it in an RTA it tasted terrible(to me)! I can totally understand why bcartervol98 likes the single coil/davide combination, because it produces the correct combination for him. I have had juices that I tried in the store that worked great in the little iClear16s but tasted terrible in the Nautilus. Then there are even more considerations. I bought the Delta 19 because it's looks and size. I don't like the looks of the full size Nautilus on my iStick, and the mini didn't hold enough juice. I think all of these variables is what makes vaping far superior to smoking. Sure you can buy different brands of cigarettes, but that is all you can change. With vaping, you can change it all! The guy with a eGo twist and a plastic clearomizer can be just as satisfied with his vape as the guy with a 200 watt, quad coil dripper!1 point -
My recommendation would to make very small batches (5ml) until you start hitting on what you like. Otherwise you will find yourself throwing away what your saving. If you mix something palatable try to vape through it and keep notes what you might change. As far as aging Ive learned if I didn't like it the day after I mixed it, I still didnt like it month later. I mix and vape, Im not running a wine cellar1 point

That should be fine as long as you go no lower than ~0.4Ω (about 10A). These inexpensive China parallel mods are not a good choice for ultra low subΩ builds (over 10A draw under load.) I know you are stuck with the B&M but there are many decent PVs out there priced right these days online. https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10011746/2018102-luxyoun-100w-variable-wattage-vw-box-mod It's like he was embarrassed to like it. His constant harping about it using a single battery grew old. That it's capable of 100W doesn't mean you have to run it there all day. They also make a 50W version that is ~$4 cheaper.1 point

Yeah, Tam has a few backups (... you're welcome, Tam, hehehe) The Nautilus and mini are great tanks, and Kanger has a good line-up too. I regularly use the KPT2 with Air-flow bases, AeroTanks, and KPT3-minis. I also have a Nautilus, but sometimes the Kanger tanks win-out because some juices just taste fantastic in them1 point -

Kanger SUBTANK vs. Aspire Atlantis, which one would you pick?

IPV mini showed up today. So far I'm really liking this thing! Thanks to Earthling for helping me spend some money. On its way are two Eleaf iSticks (one blue and one red) from the Vapor Talk Store, a EHPro Stillare from Mad Vapes, and a Jam RDA from 101 Vapes. Stalking of the mail person has commenced. Joejoevapekins helped spend more of my money last night with the purchase of the Jam RDA. If anyone has money they want to spend, we have some mighty fine members all willing and able to help out!1 point -
Just a thought, what are you using to measure the coil's resistance? Have you tried something else to make sure your first measurement was correct?1 point

Little or no taste when vaping
spydre reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Another thought is are both you and your friend using the same resistance coils? I ask because I only use 1.8ohm coils and the other day I had one go bad at work and wouldn't fire and only had replacement coils here in 2.2 ohm and I could barely taste anything until I got home and put a 1.8 back in. It is amazing how resistance can reduce flavor at a constant power setting.1 point -
Little or no taste when vaping
spydre reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
BeBop is wise... once you "burn" a coil in a tank, any juice in that tank will pick up the burnt flavor... so you'll think the next dozen coils are all burnt too, when they're not. Empty the tank, tear it apart, wash, wash, rinse, rinse, rinse, and air-dry overnight. Pop in a fresh coil with fresh juice, and you'll probably find the problem solved.1 point -

Happy New Year Blu Glad you matured and stopped using the 808's1 point

Vapers tongue perhaps? Try s different flavor before you blame the tank. Soak the coil pack in alcohol a few hours and then rinse and dry it, then put a different flavor in it and give it a try...if it works...vapors tongue...if not:replace the coil.1 point

Little or no taste when vaping
spydre reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Lack of flavor could be a failing coil... The coils that ship with the tanks are notorious for being sub-standard... personally I think they are contaminated with machining oils... But, even then, a coil used steadily (especially with dark/sweet juices) will generally start to give-out after 18-25ml of juice have been vaped through it.... That's the life-span in my experience with Kanger coils... 18-20ml and you start to notice some decrease in function... and sometime after 25ml the decrease intensifies. It does not always happen this way... some may hold out for 40ml before decrease, but I'm just giving ball-park-averages, based on my experience. Did you thoroughly clean the tank before you started using it? Have you tried a replacement coil? What battery/device are you using with the Mega?1 point -
Decided to binge watch Game of Thrones. Im 2 episodes into season 1 and already hooked lol1 point

Constant Burnt Taste from Vape
spydre reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Have you ever considered trying a bottom coil unit? I never was able to get any sort of decent taste out of top coil tanks I used when I first started vaping. I know that's not your immediate issue which sounds like a bad mix of liquid, but long term I bet you would be happier.1 point -

Or add a disclaimer at the bottom saying that they can also be used on an Aerotank and/or KPT3 but some vapers have had issues with leaking when used. Buy and use with these tanks at your own discretion. That way they're warned before hand.1 point

The culture of smoking vs vaping
Starre LaBell reacted to aufin for a topic
Well, like my Dad used to say ........"Ain't my day to worry about what other folks are doing" ...... and I have to agree. Bought my initial setup to get away from stinkies, worked quite well, and I've been satisfied ever since. Almost 2 years in and I just upgraded to a Vision Spinner to spin on under my well worn, paint-shy EVOD tanks. Needless to say, I'm not chasing clouds, worrying about keeping up with anyone, or anything else other than keeping cigarettes out of my fingers and lungs. Have no problem whatever with those who do chase clouds (There are a multitude of other much worse activities I could think of), but hope nothing happens that might "cloud" the general publics' acceptance of vapeing.1 point -

The culture of smoking vs vaping
spydre reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
What I bolded is in my opinion the biggest problem with the "culture" of vaping today. The main objective is staying off analogs and improving your health and quality of life. A very small minority see it as a $%#@ measuring contest and push the equipment to the limits of safety to see who can blow the biggest cloud. If thats what one wants to do they can go for it but do not think it is the "norm" at all. I have yet in approaching two years suck vapor directly into my lungs. I know no one personally that does that. I take a drag then inhale and repeat as often as necessary. I hit my e-cig like I would an analog always have. Best of luck in staying off analogs! I will be two years in April and have never felt better!1 point -

My computer screen on my desk...... On TV we never miss a reality show....somewhat of a reality junkie. Never missed a single episode of any season of Survivor or Big Brother and we watch Party Down South and others. What would you buy?
spydre reacted to Compenstine for a topic
It could be with the right design, but you would do better just to build a wood mod with a 50-100wat chip. I honestly don't think that Modding it would be worth the hassle.1 point -
Legion?
@hope_photography123 reacted to Compenstine for a topic
This is what is called an RDA (Rebuildable Drip Atomizer). There is no battery it screws on top of your battery like your tanks. You put wicks in the coils and Drip your juice onto the wicks and vape. This a good post to help you understand.1 point -
Legion?
@hope_photography123 reacted to T-Bone for a topic
I'm such a noob, I don't even understand how this can work! lol Where does the liquid go? Which part is the battery?1 point -
I do not have any experience with the Tesla. Being a dual 18650 you should get some respectable vape time out of it. (If you buy the sub ohm tanks) Make sure to read up on the all the safety stuff in the rebuilding/modding forums. I understand you are not rebuilding, but subohming is subohming. Mechanical mods have no real saftey for shorts and low voltage. (I have never seen one taken apart, so I am assuming) My only problem with a Mechanical mod/tank combination is the reduction of power as your battery drains. Earthling was talking about it in an earlier post. With the most regulated mods you keep the same power at the coil until the mod's battery cut off kicks in. Another problem is that they are not powerful enough on tanks. I run my Nautilus and Delta at 13 eleaf watts which is nearly 17 normal watts. A mechanical mod with fresh batteries can only put out around 9.8 watts (4.2volts with a 1.8ohm coil). It will fall off pretty quick after that.1 point

I am sure you tried it, but I am curious, does it measure the same when screwed into the base? From what I have read the Sig is fairly accurate when it come to measuring ohms (for a mod).1 point
