I just wanted to add my 2¢ to the "to chuck or not to chuck" topic of recent debate. IMO, whichever style of vaping you choose, whether it's mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, it should be the one that satisfies you the most. I see nothing wrong with either style, and both have their benefits. If you enjoy a vaping style that feels the most like smoking an analog, then mouth-to lung (slight to moderate air flow restriction) is probably the way to go. If you enjoy "chucking" huge clouds, then direct-to-lung (sub-ohm with low nic & plenty of air flow) might be for you. Granted, cloud chucking is mostly performed as spectacle, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with a little showing off every now and then, if that's what you're into. Basically, there's no "rule book" on the correct way to vape (that I know of), so it's up to you. I typically vape mouth-to-lung, but I occasionally like to show off to vaping buddies with a Mount St. Helen-style eruption of vapor. Just remember that filling a room with dense clouds of vapor can be a little off-putting to some people, so "vaping etiquette" dictates that you use a little common sense before doing so. Also, I've heard many times that cloud chasers experience little to no flavor in their vapor, but I've found that this is definitely not the case for me, as the juices that I use provide plenty of flavor from both methods. Lastly, vape safe...know your equipment and its limitations, and however you choose to vape, do it because it makes you happy.5 points

The culture of smoking vs vaping
JohnnyFog and one other reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Healthcare and the "industry" has gotten nuts over "tobacco" recently... and since e-cigs have evolved into mainstream, even your health-insurance and most employers are no longer asking "do you smoke?", they are asking "to you use nicotine?", which is absolutely absurd, since nicotine is a naturally occurring substance in nearly every plant and fruit on the planet! But, the health-industry MUST classify e-cigs as a "tobacco-product" in order to fit the dialogue and mantra so the FDA, healthcare, and big-tobacco can control the industry (and impose taxes to fill everyone's coffers). I actually called-out my health-insurance agent recently on the double-standard... They impose a $50/month "sin-fee" on smokers, and have for the past 5 years... this year they included the language to include "nicotine use" in the fee. I pointed out the hypocrisy that our health-plan pays 100% for nicotine patches, nicotine gum, chantix, et-al to aid in helping someone quit (and they are not imposed any fees if they use a patch/gum), yet those of us that have kicked the nasty habit of smoking by using vaping are still included with "smokers"! She looked at me long and hard... started to say something, then stopped herself... then she leaned in close and said, "check the box for non-smoker, AND check the box for no-nicotine-use"... she agreed it was a rather stupid and condemning double-standard... and just a way to generate revenue! As for your stealth-vaping in the bathroom... yeah, if you get caught they'll probably crucify you... you'd probably have more luck getting away with dissecting a live patient in the lobby....2 points -
Well I'm sure no one cares but I'm pretty stoked lol my order of actual 32ga kanthal a1 came in and i did the calculations on steam-engine I used a 3/32 drill bit wrapped 7 times and come out to 1.4ohm total on dual coils. I also built a 32ga twisted single coil using a 3/32 drill bit 5 wraps comin to 1.7ohm. I get more vapor and taste from the twisted single coil. I'm using a kangertech iPow 2 on 15w. Now I just need to work on cleaner wraps and get a bigger variable wattage box and I'll be happy. Thanks guys2 points

Glad you're all set! If you run into any issues don't hesitate to hit the contact tab and open a ticket, we're always happy to help (Don't feel bad about ordering the wrong coils, we even do it when ordering from the warehouse sometimes. The shipment arrives, we open the box then "oh crap"" lol Kanger seems to have this obsession with changing their coil design. As for the Natti coils I'll take a look at the SKU's Descriptions and see what needs to be changed, thanks for bring that to our attention (By the way if you ever find mistakes in the store we usually issue out coupon codes for those who find them)2 points -

After using the Atlantis I found it impossible to go back to my Nautilus. So last night I grabbed a 1/8 drill bit and bored out the smallest setting and it is useful once again. Before that the stock 1.6 Ohm coil was about a 14 Watt max tank for me. Now 18 Watts and no burn and better flavor.1 point -

Or add a disclaimer at the bottom saying that they can also be used on an Aerotank and/or KPT3 but some vapers have had issues with leaking when used. Buy and use with these tanks at your own discretion. That way they're warned before hand.1 point

Alright Members - Single Coil Feedback
spydre reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
As you know I only use single coils in my Davides and I have not had any issue at all. These are new Davides that come with the dual coils that I toss and put in a single. I tried the doubles but prefer the singles by a vast margin. Often people mistake a gurgling from condensation as leaking. Every tank I have ever had occasionally floods when altitudes or temperatures change drastically. Every time I go hunting and am out in the cold 4-5 hours and get back in my car every tank I use floods under that scenario. I guess I have been lucky but I have been through hundreds of Kanger single coils, some from VT store some other places, but out of those hundreds there have been two or three that were "bad" and truly leaked. I will take that failure rate any day with almost anything lol.1 point -
Unsafe?
Earthling789 reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Pretty typical and one more reason regulation is coming and it needs to to be honest. Its one thing for someone at home to build coils in a dangerous way but its ENTIRELY different when a place of business does the same thing. They should be looking out for vapers rights not doing their best to get them taken away.1 point -

Help! Beginner coil building...

What is the resistance of the coil you built? What device are you using to fire it? Welcome to VT, BTW1 point -
I actually agree with you. But remember, we are a grass roots movement too and we are fighting to keep the right to vape as we all know it is healthier than smoking. Part of that fight is squelching the unreasonable, false representation and inflated exaggeration of studies that are designed to alarm the non vaping public and generate fear in vaping so as to destroy it. Make no mistake. This is a real battle being fought over dollars, not your health. But I whole heartedly agree with you. We can't let that blind us to the real risks of vaping. And those are real too.1 point

Advantage of APV over Mech-Mod?
Tam reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
I know the feelings about tanks, flavor, etc.... I have some juices that taste fantastic in Kanger tanks, one juice that tastes best only in a Nautilus, and a couple that are heavenly in an RTA but taste like wet socks in a KPT2 ... Rarely do I build any coils that require more than 20W, and anything more than 12-15W in my AeroTank or Nautilus would just cook the juice The IPV-mini is not exactly "mini", I agree, but I think it will serve me well for quite some time... and if I need smaller portability, I have my MVP, iStick, and a few eGo's still kicking...1 point -
I prefer the flavor and vapor of the singles compared to the duals. Ive been through numerous packs of the duals hoping for something better, but alas they were all sucky IMHO.1 point

The regular KPT 1 and 2 take the single coils. It wasn't until KPT3 that they came out with the dual coils, that's the full sized ones, I'm not sure about the minis because I use the Davide minis. How strange though, I use single KPT coils for my KPT3 and Aerotank with no leaking whatsoever while other people seem to have all kinds of problems with them.1 point -

Advantage of APV over Mech-Mod?
Earthling789 reacted to jasonculp for a topic
It is the closest thing to hitting my specifications out there too. I just wish it was a bit mini-er..... I have decided that I am happiest with a tank and don't really need over 20 watts of power. I still have my mechs and my ipv3 and drippers. The reality of it is that I do 95% of my vaping on the go and I like the taste from my Nautilus/Delta better than I do RTAs and Drippers. I understand that there is much more flavor from Drippers and RTAs, but I prefer the taste of my juice from a tank!1 point -

Did I Buy The Wrong Coils?
T-Bone reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
This will give you a better idea on why the single-coils won't work (or work well) in your dual-coil tank, and give you a full-list of the different versions of the dual-coil heads, compared to the long-stem version of the single-coil head: As you can see, the height of the coil-head is much shorter on the single-coil, which means it will not touch (and seal) the bottom of the center-shaft in your tank. The silicone cap must seal-off the center-shaft (to maintain the vacuum seal), else the juice will just flood into the center-shaft, flood the coil (from the top) and leak all your juice out the drip-tip, and bottom air-hole ports.1 point -
Did I Buy The Wrong Coils?
T-Bone reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Nah, not a moron... just did what all of us have done at one point in time or another... If I had a $1 for every time I grabbed the wrong thing, I'd have quite a few dollars And, based on the description of the coils (online description), there was no reason for you to think they wouldn't fit your KPT3-minis... The description IS incorrect, so unless you knew a Unitank and AeroTank take different coils, you would never have realized something was amiss... Christopher will get it fixed for you, and make it right, I'm sure... since an incorrect description led you to purchase an incorrect coil...1 point -

The culture of smoking vs vaping
Compenstine reacted to Bebop for a topic
I agree with Carter. I have a really great B&M near me. It's well stocked, competitive prices and they cater to alk types of vapers from the noobs to the cloud chasers. I have been in there dozens of times now. Before Christmas I was in there "window shopping" and I spent some 30 mins hanging out and checking things out. They are actually very friendly and the owner as well as the staff take extra steps not to belittle any type of vaper. I think they will be in business for a long time. But one thing you will notice if you spend any time in there at all is that the casual vaper, the smoker who wants to quit, the budget vapers all out number the cloud chasers by a long shot. Spend a half hour in there and the same 3 cloud chasers at the bar sit there the whole time while dozens of vapers come and go picking up their juice, buying their ego bats, asking about simple tanks and setups, testing juices. Im not poo pooing the cloud chasers. To each their own. But they simply are a minority although very vocal and occasionally "holier than thou". There's always a couple ***'s in every crowd. Most of us just seek a decent vape. We don't settle for junk, we want quality in taste and vapor production. We wanted off the analogs. I don't even think I ever knew a smoker who did "lung hits" lol. Its definitely a phenomena of vaping/cloud chasing. Just like this forum, most of what you see is people happy to get off cigs. One friend of mine couldn't get off cigs til he got a mechanical. He needed more vapor but he's not a cloud chaser. He just needed the next level up of vapor production with a higher performance coil. I think the majority fall in to that category - people looking to break the habit of smoking and enjoying the toys and variety.1 point -
I just realized today that I surpassed 30 days without a cigarette! I'm sure it was just as awesome for you as it is for me right now... Thank you so much Vapor Talk!1 point
