    Nice looking drip tips

Patricia, when I'm looking for drip tips I go to Google and put in "drip tips" and do the search under "images". Then, I look through all the pretty pictures until I find something I like. Then, I go to that page to find out what it's called. If the page/site is a vendor I've used before I just buy it. If it's not a vendor I've either purchased from before or heard good things, then I do another Google search under "web" and try to find a vendor that I know who carries it. Easy. But very dangerous. How do you think I wound up with well over 200 drip tips?

  2. Actually, you prolong the life by charging them more frequently (without draining them down below 1/2 charge). Rotating batteries is a difficult thing, especially when you have a bunch of them. When I had 6-8 eGo's, I rotated them often, but then "forgot" about them as I used my MVP and MODs more... I was afraid they had ran-down in storage, but every one of them (when put on the charger) clicked to green within just a few minutes, and they are none the worse for wear (although I've given all but a couple away). Bebop is right... in cool, dry storage, they will lose about 1-2% charge per month, maintaining from 80-90% after a year of storage (typically). BUT, if you store one drained, it may never live again.... Always top them off before storing away or long periods of non-use... and if possible, just rotate them into your routine so they see some "love" from time to time....

    Is Too Much Possible?

It wouldn't hurt to cycle them a time or two. I've been doing the same thing ever since I started using my batteries. I charge them whenever I want. I don't care how much or how little I use them. I top them off after an hour or I run them down to flashing. I haven't noticed a bit of difference.

    Is Too Much Possible?

I'm not a fan of the link you put up, copper. It's a little confusing and primarily deal with lap top and cell phone batteries. Nog only that but it is old and not clear if it's been edited and kept up to date. This technology changes pretty rapidly. Also there are a few classes of lithium ion batteries and so information may not apply to all types. There is a newer link to batteries more relevant to vaping. I'll see if I can dig it up. In general our batteries have a "cycle life". They don't last forever. They are prone to heat deterioration so keep them cool. Under moderate conditions the discharge rate in storage is quite low - as I recall, a few percent per month but again that can be reduced by heat. Generally speaking you can't wear them out from non use or over use. You should get 300+ charging cycles out of a battery. Quality of the original battery can be a factor. And once the battery will not hold a charge, it's done. As they age or progress thru their charging cycles, the voltage drops happen sooner and battery life shortens. Oddly enough, one of my original 1300mah Vision Spinners is still kicking and one I bought only 6 months ago died prematurely. Go figure....

    New Layout

The site looks really good on my tablet, but a little bland on my PC. Small and light text is the main thing. I give it 1¾ thumbs up. A little redundancy is fine. A little redundancy is fine.

    Jargon For Noobs

Sometime the vets on the forums tend to use terms and slag for some of the most common items, methods and hardware for vaping. This is not the ultimate guide but should make some of the terms a little clearer. (I hope)... Basic Jargon Vapor - Vapor is the substance exhaled when using an electronic cigarette which may look similar to cigarette smoke. Vaping - The act of using an Electronic Cigarette (as opposed to "smoking", as the device creates a vapor rather than smoke). Vape - Used often in place of the word smoke. I vape, I'm vaping. Batt - Battery. Atty - Electronic component that turns the eJuice into vapor. Cartridge or Cart - The part of a three piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled. Cartomizer or Carto - The part of a two piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled. Analog - Traditional tobacco cigarette. DIY - Do It Yourself. Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge. Drip Tip or DT - A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer. Mod - Modified (custom built) e-cigarette. TH - Throat Hit a strong feeling in the back of the throat when vaping. Primer Puff - A short, quick mouth inhale on the electronic cigarette similar to the action when smoking a pipe or cigar. This heats up the atomizer before a full draw. PV or Personal Vaporiser - An electronic cigarette. Some prefer to use this term as the word 'cigarette' has a lot of negative connotations associated with it that do not apply to PVs. PCC - Personal Charging Case / Portable Charger Case. Passthrough or PT - A USB adapter for the Electronic Cigarette which screws onto the atomizer like a battery, but draws power from a USB port. E-Liquid / E-Juice E-Liquid / E-Juice - A Flavored or unflavored liquid for use in an electronic cigarette, usually (but not always) containing nicotine. VG - Vegetable Glycerin PG - Propylene Glycol PEG - Propylethylene Glycol PGA - Pure Grain Alcohol NPG - Not containing Propylene Glycol. Sometimes used as a synonym to Vegetable Glycerin. Nic - Nicotine Cartridge Related Filler - The clump of fibers that hold the liquid in the cartridge. Stuffing - Another term for filler. BFM - Blue Foam Mod. (cart filler material) Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge. Dry Smoking - Same thing as dripping, referring to the fact that the cartridge us usually not filled, therefore dry. Tailpiping - Vaping directly from the atomizer without using a mouthpiece/cartridge. Drip Tip or DT A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer. Topping Up/Off - To add a few drops of liquid to a partially used cartridge to prolong its use. Measurements LR - Low Resistance HV - High Voltage (typically a 5 or 6 volt ecigarette) IMR - A battery with lower internal resistance and a high discharge rate, good for high drain applications like ecigarettes. in - inch (also abbreviated ") (1 inch = 25.4 mm) mm - millimeter (1 mm = 0.039 inch) cm - centimeter (1 cm = 0.394 inch) oz - ounce (1 fluid oz = 29.5 ml) ml - milliliter (1 ml = 0.034 fluid ounce) cc - cubic centimeter (1 cc = 1 ml) mg - milligram (often used as measure of nicotine per ml of eliquid) mA - milliamp (often used as a measure of available power) mAh - milliamp hour (often used as a measure of battery capacity/duration Forum Phrases PM - Private Message Troll - Somebody who makes a statement with the intention of annoying or angering other posters. This person usually ends up banned.

There once was a man from Nantucket Who bought all his juice in a bucket He said with a grin As he puffed yet again If I had some more money, I'd truck it. There! For the first time in all my 62 years, I wrote it without a single vulgar line! Now THAT's self control.

    Is Too Much Possible?

I say use one battery mainly with a backup with you. Save the rest to use consecutively as one of the ones you currently use, dies for good! Generally batteries last a while depending of course on quality and how often you Vape. I have been super happy with the quality of my eSTICK and how long the charge lasts! I charge mine maybe every second day, and use it all the time!! They are having a super good sale if you want to score a cool kit for trial! http://shop.juicyejuice.com/electronic-cigarettes/estick-starter-kits.html

  15. Well Believe it or not China actually makes most of it's Money in Europe at least E Liquid. Dekang for Example, arguably China's biggest e-liquid producers ships out more across Europe and a few select areas of the asian market (e-cigarettes are too expensive for most Chinese to purchase) than they do the states. The thing about China is they don't care what they sell, so long as it turns a profit. If electronic cigarettes were say completely banned, they' just drop shop, reorganize and start producing something else. I don't think it'd phase them all that much to be honest with you. The owners of these large companies have no issues taking their money, closing up the factory and moving onto the next thing. There are two guys at the top of Dekangs food chain and they're set for life. @Bebop - If they can...maybe. But if regulation and the threat of fines outweighs the profit margins of producing advanced vaping gear, they'll do away with it. The same goes for all suppliers. While there are a few vendors that make some serious cash (a couple million gross per year) most vendors, I'd say a good chunk of them (I'm always chit chatting with vendors at conventions we attend, the last one in Arizona) make less than 10-15k a month. The thing is some of them still carry day jobs, if they're hit with a fine of say 50 or maybe 100k (pure speculation) it wouldn't take much to knock most of them out of business. Hell even the threat of a fine is enough for a few of these vendors to say "nope not worth it, it's be fun" The ones that have the big bucks will switch over to whatever the current regulatory requirements are. (I mean why not when most of your competition as been killed off by regulation. It's easy money at that point) In fact we all know if serious regulation does kick in? Most vendors will go away with the wind. It sucks because it's a win for a few and not for vapers. (This insane competition going on right now is great for buyers, it forces suppliers to get more creative, improve logistics etc all in an effort to compete. It's the way the free market works best) The other question could be asked, if they were interested in advanced vaping why not market to that group now? Vuze, Blu, NJOY etc all pretty much stuck with the simple two piece units. I don't think personally they'll go the rough of catering to advanced vapers purely because of the liability that comes along with it. It wasn't long ago people were suing BT because cigarettes caused cancer. This year marked a high point for child poisoning by e-liquid in ER rooms. I'd be willing to bet with tanks and the likes being offered by BT that people would be happy to turn the finger on big tobacco and start suing. ("ugh my tank spilled, you should have made it safer etc etc...") Ironically creating the nanny market they probably once spoke against. They'll likely just avoid the hassle, especially given the fact their current model now which is a moderately safe method of delivery, makes them a ton of money. As for underground vaping, you bet, it'll be around for quite some time. For example most members on this board will likely mix and home brew, in fact they'll probably use this forum to figure out how to do just that. (and at that point we'll do our best to keep the freedom of info flowing legally) but see the tricky part is getting the nicotine. Right now there are a couple of ways to obtain nicotine. The most often used method is purchasing unflavored nicotine from a vendor here in the states or from China. (Sometimes the vendor here in the states does just that...orders from China) Once those seizures kick back in at the border (and boy do I remember those days) it'll be much harder to obtain Chinese unflavored nicotine base liquid or nicotine base from any country. (Philippines for example) I remember one year I lost so much stuff at the border I almost closed up shop. This alone would kill of quite a lot of vendors. Vapor Talk's prices used to be pretty sky high simply to cover the amount of product that was straight up destroyed in customs. (Vendors reading this who've been around for a while will remember the heart rates when checking their inbound tracking numbers. I wished I could share some of the ways we used to bring this stuff in lol) Ok but we can get nicotine in the states right? Well right now it's not regulated all that well but you bet your *** if the FDA started knocking on the doors of companies like DOW stating you have to be licensed etc to purchase, it's going to be pretty hard to get what we all want. You can purchase Nic as a pesticide and break it down but eh.. you're starting to get into some gray area and you'd better hope the guy mixing your stuff knows what he's doing. But if they do succeed in clamping down on US companies distributing nicotine Then it doesn't matter how much hardware is available, what's the point? You're looking at shady dealings trying to get a hold of this stuff which honestly would shrink the DIY arena to a group of screw the government types that simply don't care. But I think the vast majority of users will simply give in and buy the regulated stuff. Who knows though, the one thing I know about this country is that when American's are told they can't have something, they end up wanting it more purely as a middle finger to the government. But like anything else, it's risk reward. The greater the risk, the greater the penalty the more people will just say screw it and buy the crappy pre made cartridges or worse, go back to smoking. It's still an interesting topic to talk about, something we're always chatting up at the office. The fact that we managed to get this far at all, honestly at times, is surprising. There was a time vaping was doomed, now it's likely just to be stifled a bit.

    Oh What a Lonely Boy

I made the same promise, Jonnoh. Since I quit smoking I don't associate with smokers very much. Probably because they are all vapers now, lol. In that, I am lucky. But I have to say, since I quit, cigarette smoke is one of the most offensive things I've experienced and I have to cut non smokers some slack. I never realized how bad it really was. But I refuse to get all up in their face (smokers) cuz I remember what it was like. Now I just avoid it, which is pretty easy since you can't smoke ANYWHERE any more. A good friend of mine struggled with vaping and smoking for a year. He told me today he hasn't had a ciggy since some time in the summer. He finally found a juice and mod combo that does it for him. He looked happy. And I was happy for him.

    Is Too Much Possible?

This has always been a concern of mine since I started this hobby. My MVP is still going great, and it is the one of the oldest batteries that I have. Of course it is only 5 - 6 months old. It is now disassembled awaiting a 510 transplant. My habit is to vape all day, charge all night with the MVP and now the iSticks. Is this ok? They only drain to about half before I charge them. I know other chemistry batteries it was better to discharge them quite a bit before recharging them. I know the type batteries we use now don't have a memory, but what is the best practice? I tend to do the same if not worse with my mechanical batteries. I was using them for a few hours in the evening, the putting on the charger (Nitecore i4). I have started rotating them and using them more. I will use one until it gets a bit weak, then switch. When I get 4 that are not charged, I charge them all. I have 2 VTC4's that i have held back to use in a possible dual 18650 electronic mod, and I keep them in a drawer, isolated and have not charged, or used them. Is this bad? Do I need to check them every so often?

I have to recommend the Smok Pyrex & Stainless Steel 510 drip tips. They are absolutely the most comfortable and best fitting drip tips I've ever used, and they don't get hot. You can get the whole set of four different styles for $24.74 shipped on eBay...it's where I got mine.

    Broke Or Soar Throat?

#1... if you've burnt a coil with juice in the tank, even changing to a new coil will still taste bad because the "burnt" flavor has been passed to the remaining juice. It is best to dump the bad juice, clean the tank, and start with a fresh coil. Sometimes, dry-burning a coil will prolong the use of it, but considering the cost of a replacement, it's not worth it (IMO), unless that is your last coil and you can't get to the store (or your shipment of replacements won't arrive) until tomorrow. So, what coil/tank are you having this issue with, and are you sure it is a burnt-coil issue, and not just an issue where your tastebuds have changed and something that use to taste good no longer does?

    like or hate and why?

I've heard about the lack of warning/info included with the atlantis tank and agree the safety aspect should be included whith the product. However, I take issue with your discription of "lazy noobs". Everyone of us were noobs at some point. We choose our path as we learn what works for us. Unfortuinately if we call ppl lazy because they are new, they likely won't ask questions to learn the important facts that go along with a product like this. Our goal should be focused on education for all. Promoteing that for the new members/vapers. I don't meen to rant, just would hate to see a guest/lurker to feel like they can't ask a question for fear of being labled.

  27. Your EVOD is fine... your nicotine level is most likely the issue. If you smoked anywhere near a pack a day, 18mg will be the bare minimum you'll require to get through the craving times (morning, before bed, after meals, etc.). If you smoked more than a pack a day, it would not hurt to try 24mg juices too... Nicotine is NOT the problem, so don't feel bad if you have to have higher levels to fight through the cravings! Also, using a higher VG% juice will produce more vapor, which many people find to also ease the transition, because you get the sensation of smoking (thicker vapor production). Higher VG will also reduce the throat hit (TH), so your draw will not be as "harsh".... this is a good thing for higher nicotine levels.
