You'll also want to add an AC adapter for the charger, it's a much safer way to charge without risking frying your PC. Add at least one or two 5-packs of replacement coils to your order. The Kanger Pro Tank 3 can take the single coils or the more expensive dual coils that come with it.2 points -

It's hard to pick up a cigalike once you have had good juice on a quality device. The cigalike tasted like crap several months into vaping after good ejuice.2 points -

Welcome to VT! You're already on your way, and I'd recommend buying what is considered as "upgraded" equipment... it will cost a few bucks more, but you'll get much longer and much more satisfying use out of it... Buy a couple of Spinners or Twists... 1300mAh at the minimum... they'll last all day that way. At the very least, buy a couple of eGo-T 1100mAh or 1300mAh batteries. Buy at least two (to start with) clearomizers of your choice... EVOD, EVOD2, Kanger ProTank 2 or 3, or the mini versions... Aspire Nautilus (or mini), Kanger AeroTank (or mini)... You'll be much happier with a better tank, and Pyrex rules over plastic if you vape anything with cinnamon, mint, citrus, or menthol (tank crackers). As for the taste of Camel lights... there are several of the Turkish blends out there, and IIRC, Seattle Vapor has a good one... and the Exotic Tobacco flavor from the Vapor Talk Store is quite good, too... If you're a half-pack a day smoker, I'd recommend 18mg Nicotine levels for starters... you may find 12mg does the trick, but most people find higher is a good place to start for really quitting analogs.2 points -

I guess, the way it applies to us in vaping, there are really only 2 things we can change. (I am not taking into account advanced vaping such as Variable Voltage/Variable Wattage power supplies and building your own coils) An example: A simple battery has a voltage of 3.8 Volts Your Atomizer has a resistance of 1.8 Ohms Using this calculator: http://www.ohmslawcalculator.com/ohms_law_calculator.php you plug in the to "known" numbers. This tells you that you are putting out about 8 watts. As you increase voltage or decrease ohms your wattage will increase which will mean a hotter vape. Another good tool is: http://www.steam-engine.org/ohm.asp You will catch on soon, it seems intimidating at first, but is pretty simple. Don't get too hung up on the numbers (unless you are working with mechanical mods and making you're own coils). Mess with it a bit, and come back and ask questions, we are all glad to help you get started!1 point

Since I would trust any of your recs, Rix, I just ordered a 30 ml bottle of this juice. I've been looking for something that's similar to the FLaN I've been vaping for so long and I love blueberries and coconut... Thanks for the rec! I'm looking forward to trying this out. What was the PG/VG ratio and nic level you got? How's the throat hit? These days I'm not looking for any throat hit, just flavor so I'm curious.1 point

I am no help either, but would like to know the answer too! I bought a couple of Xtar and later found out that they are only rated at 7amps my go to build is .4ohms. So this is a no go. I have seen the purple Efests and they are said to be rated at 10.5 amps. This is right at my limit and have read they exaggerate their amperage claims. I really like the size of the 4nine with the 18350's and would like to use it. I have really quit using my drippers, it is just too much trouble. I only use them in the evenings sitting in my recliner. I enjoy the experience I get from them, but sometimes it isn't worth the added effort.1 point

My Provari mini is the only one I use an 18350 for and I only use it with a KPT2 and 1.8 ohm coil so I don't need anything high performance for that. My AW IMR 18350 is fine for that. If anything, though, I'd like to get longer battery life than the 700 mAh. Guess I'm going to have to invest in an extension so I can use my Panasonic 18650 3400 mAh in it... Sorry, Rix. No help here.1 point

What's Your 18350 Battery Of Choice For Powering Rebuildables?
Rixter reacted to Compenstine for a topic
At 1 to 1.2 Ohms I would say any Efest or like quality would be fine. IMO I would stick with one that is at least 20amp. I don't use them so mine is only a guess.1 point -

If you Google Samsung 18650 they all look cheap and cheasey like that one. Not sure what difference it makes if it worx and was priced what you wanted to pay. After saying all that I will say if buying clones is a concern and their existence bothers folks they should not be value shopping on Ebay and other sites where counterfeiters offload their stuff . Buy from reputable dealers who stand behind and support their merchandise . Just my opinion ,honest people are entitled to make a living just as you are and they have to charge a fair profit margin to make it.1 point

1.8 Ohm is a "happy place" for most juices and batteries. Higher resistance coils will prolong your battery life, but only by a bit, while sacrificing performance, IMO. Like Tam said.. we are pretty bad about preaching safety and backups for your backups... trust us when we say you'll need a backup sooner, rather than later... Murphy's Law is always working against us1 point -
If you don't buy anything more right now, you really need to get more coils. Usually, a stock coil will last around a couple of weeks but you never know when they'll go out and if your only back up coil will work and/or last long enough to get more. We're a broken record around here about back ups. And back ups of back ups. We can't emphasize that enough.1 point

Buy what you can, when you can... just remember... a tank costs a few bucks today, but lasts forever (with proper care)... and coils are cheap compared to packs of smokes and lighters Money is always tight when you start out... Seriously though, a couple of batteries and tanks can be purchased for what you'd spend on one or two cartons of smokes, depending on where you live.... (and they'll last far longer than a week or two). Two of each (battery/tank) are mostly a necessity, though... since you have a hard time vaping while your battery is charging (if you only have one), and most people have more than one flavor, so it makes sense to have a tank for each flavor, or at the very least, a spare in case you break one, or one malfunctions.1 point -
Westminster, MA Ban on ALL Tobacco and E-cigs
jonnoh reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Feel free to jump on that soapbox often, lol... Passion breeds activists, and we need all the help we can get to fight for our freedoms! I posted a link (loosely referencing this MA proposal a while back), but my focus was on the fact that one of the documents they overlooked (the politicians) was that Nicotine was NOT the addictive substance they constantly (push) think it is... I'm of the mind that becoming a politician instantly makes you an expert on everything (NOT), but it DOES make you believe that it is your responsibility to protect John Q Public from himself... next step... corks on forks, because you might poke your eye out if you miss your mouth!1 point -

You'll want at least two batteries, and a couple of tanks... the initial expense is about the cost of a carton or smokes, so you'll not really feel the hit too hard Two batteries, two tanks, and a 5-pack of coils will keep you vaping for a month or two (not counting juice)... and you'll find within the first month of vaping, suddenly there is extra cash in your pocket1 point -

Ha! Jason beat me to putting up the link to the post I made with all the links on it. I need to put that into its own post for easier reference but haven't yet. Read through the thread. There's a lot of good advice from our knowledgeable and friendly members. Welcome to Vapor Talk.1 point -
*falls over laughing* Yes, please let us know how well they work, Jason. From my experience with the HH.357 Cisco atomizers, I would expect it to be amazing! After all this time and all the different tanks and RDAs I've tried, I still can't get performance comparable to the HH.357s. If these work as well as the atomizers, I would love to pay $10 each instead of the $25 that I pay now.1 point

Most people coming off analogs go with the tobacco flavors. I did when I started Vaping 5 years ago. I still vape tobacco flavors to this day from time to time. As you get off analogs your taste will change a lot so it is good that you want to try other flavors. Just make sure you drink lots of water as you move into vaping it will dehydrate you. The water also helps your body rid itself of the toxins from analogs as well.1 point -

Earthing gives good advise. Most of use are on top helping noobs get setup and off the analogs. I was a 30 Camel smoker when I started vaping as well. You really won't find anything the is exactly like an analog, but there are flavors out there that will come close.1 point -
Never mind...couldn't stand it. I will let y'all know. They only had stock on the 1.0 ohm. I hope they are closer to 1.1... my iStick will not go below 1 ohm. I guess if it doesn't work I can put it on the MPV.1 point

I'm confused?
@hope_photography123 reacted to fishguy1123 for a topic
As always is the case over time we start with warnings about what is bad for us..... then, after a few years it's not so bad, or even worse then we were told.... Eggs were bad, now good... you name it. Drugs get passed, then class action lawsuits and an apology so to speek from the FDA.... At the end of the day we all know what makes us feel good and bad. We make choices, I've made several bad ones. The one good choice I can point to is vapeing instead of smokeing analogs. I was like most that never thought it was possible, it is as we've found possible! I welcome common sense regs to keep things safe for everyone. Beyond that I'd consider poor oversight/regulation.1 point -

New to the world of vaping
@hope_photography123 reacted to T-Bone for a topic
Hey Lenny! Welcome to the group. I'm new here, too and I'd be more than happy to offer what I bought. I smoked about 1.5 to 2 packs of menthol packs a day. I know there are mint liquids out there that may taste like menthol for you...but what the other folks are saying is very true. Vaping ≠ smoking. It's a whole different way to deliver nicotine. When I first started a week or so ago, I purchased a nice battery and some tanks and some liquids that I linked to above. Personally, I wanted to try all different flavors so I got Snickerdoodle, Birthday Cake, Mellow Spice, Apple Cider and Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie. But again, the main point is that you can get a very enjoyable experience from vaping, but it isn't smoking and it doesn't even come close...it's better!!1 point -
A local shop that SELLS TO MINORS.
GeorgeF reacted to Compenstine for a topic
If this is true call the police and have them set up a sting with a minor. Having said that, if it is like MI, at this moment in time there are no laws protecting Kids from sales of E-Liquid. In that case call your State Representative and complain. If there are no laws then it is an ethical issue and you have little recourse. As far as the way or where they mix, or where they say it comes from... Ethical. I would have to ask how do you know this information because most people, unless they work there or know some who does, wouldn't know. Be very careful what you say and do with this because if it turns out not to be true, you become Libel for slander and defamation. Irf you are so sure about this take your evidence to the right people that can do something about it. JM2C1 point -
Vaping and Deer Hunting
Tam reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Yes, Big South Fork is a LOT like the areas I hunt up here... So, finding a place on a ridge is sometimes more advantageous than up a tree At least on a ridge, you don't have to spend hours looking for that perfect diameter, straight, limbless tree for your climber! I tend to carry one of those camo heat-seats attached to my backpack, so I can sit anywhere and be off the ground (and dry). Finding an area with small trees, ferns, holly-bushes, etc. where you can pocket yourself into them is excellent concealment on a ridge or rise, especially if you can overlook a travel-route or creek. One thing I can say about hunting public land is that most hunters will be "early-birds" (3-4am)... So, your best hunting will be first light, as the late-arrivals are moving deer. 90% of the early-birds will head home well before Noon, so deer will begin to move again around 11am to 2pm-ish... and I've taken more deer on public land between Noon and 4pm than any other time of day... second most successful time of day is just before dark, at least on public land... Private land is a different story... most any time of day is good, but I still prefer afternoons and evenings during rifle season. I've taken all my kids hunting, and my boys were the most fidgety and complained the most about being bored, hungry, "can we go home", "it's too early", "I'm cold", etc. My daughter could sit for hours (hot, cold, wind, rain, snow...) and not move, and rarely complained... except that one time we sat in the rain for several hours... we got back to the truck and she could wring buckets of water out of her socks (and she was wearing waterproof boots)! That was the only time she gave up before dark.... So, when taking youth with you... I'd suggest you arrive around Noon-ish (after you've filled them up with some fast-food, lol). They'll see more, be quieter, be warmer, and will have a much better time with dad. I always hit McDonald's or Wendy's along the way and we were set-up in the woods in the late-morning or early-afternoon, usually in a blind or on the ground along a protected ridge. Even if we didn't see or bag a deer, we had a good time eating out and spending time with each other in the woods!1 point -
