    Paying it Forward

So, many of you jumped in to help me get started with vaping, whether it was w/ juice, back up battery or replacement parts. I appreciated every single act of generosity more than I can say. Honestly it renewed my hubby's faith in people (he is extremely jaded). That being said, money is still extremely tight, but since I have received so much help, I decided to try and help others when I can. Started with the guy that works at the store by my house. He recently started vaping to kick smoking, and I noticed that he was using nasty gas station juice. So we brought him one of our bottles to show him that there are really good quality juices out there, along with a few recommendations on where he can buy quality juice. Then last week, hubby was approached by a guy at work whose dad is a 30+ year smoker who is dealing with several hope issues. He was asking hubby what all he should buy his dad to get him started. So, hubby, knowing that I have been on this forum night and day asked me to make up a list. I decided to do one better. I put together a vape package. A battery, a tank, and extra coil, plus about 6 different juices in varying nic levels. I included a note with a link to where to buy a charger (I didn't have an extra, and links to online stores with great juices(dad doesn't drive). So, I will continue on this path. I already feel so much better without smoking. I want to spread the wealth! So I am challenging anyone that has received help from the vaping community to jump up and help someone else when you can. If I have learned one thing in this journey so far, it is that people want to ask for help, but are too embarrassed to do it, and we can offer help! Hugs to all of you!!!

  2. Just an FYI for everyone this issue has been fixed and resolved. You can now clear posts by sub forum as usual

  3. I have probably given away more stuff than I own right now in totality and the only thing I ever ask anyone I pay it forward to is that they do the same. So awesome to see you guys doing that!

  4. I recieved help from here too! I regifted a couple juices that weren't my style. I wouldn't have known if it weren't given to me, why not do that for someone else?

  5. I started vaping a few months ago, and all of a sudden (after about 3 weeks) the enamel on my top teeth started sloughing off. My dentist thinks it could be the e-cigs, but I can't bring myself to quit long enough to find out. Has anyone else had, or heard of, this problem with vaping?

Exactly! I discovered that tobacco flavored juices don't work for me, so I had been given some, and I regifted them to another vapor that loves tobacco juices. Any help to another person is still help!

  7. Just wanted to follow up on this - So it appears there is a glitch between the theme we use and the latest version of our forum software. Tom deals with the permission settings the template handles and he's working on it My guess is we'll have a fix once it passes testing by weeks end. I'll of course report back again here once the fix has been applied.

  8. *embarrased*...... haven't seen the video yet. Will watch it tonight, been very busy. Within 1 volt isn't so accurate when we have measurements going in .1 increments. Well, so , I will watch the vid and perhaps comment more. Listen, I'm interested too !! This E-huge has got me lookin at stuff I never saw before, and is WAY over my head. I put pics up in the e-cigarrette pic forum of it, if you wanna check it out !

  9. Please don't get me wrong, the voltage reading is close. Like in Phil's video, the volts were off by 1 volt at low voltage, and much closer at the higher ones. I hate to say I have kind of become obsessed with this subject now. I have been reading everything I can find about boost/buck circuits in ecigs. What makes this so bad is that I have no desire to build my own circuit or mod for that matter. It is just curiosity. If I did build one, it would be a dual 18650 fully mechanical with no wires. With the Sigelei 100W for around $100 and the IPV3 around $150, I don't feel like the many hours to build something would be worth it. If I had a creative mind, or a new idea, it might be different. I am sure with my brain, I would only come up with something so simple that would not work as good as something I could buy.

    Nic levels...

Hey thanks for the replys. I took everyone's advice yesterday and went to a local B&M. Picked myself up a bottle of 24mg. Guess what happened. All afternoon, evening and night went by and I didn't even want a cig !!! It was the nic level just like you all told me. Thank you all for your advice. Fishguy, I "was" on 10mg...lol...Not anymore. The 24mg is working so much better... :-)

  13. Something you have to understand is all electronic devices, of this type, use a method to boost the voltage, or higher voltage batteries and a method to reduce voltage. This makes your 3.7 volt battery put out 5.5 volts for example. The read out on your device is not extremely accurate, because without an oscilloscope to measure the output the display must use mathmatic formulas to give you a readout. Here are the formulas for a Vrms and Vavg (mean). http://www.rfcafe..onversion.htm We use Vrms because it takes the Alternating Current (I actually think most use DC-DC duty cycle, which produces a sinewave) that is put out by a PMW to provide us with a Voltage that closer represents the equal amount in Direct Current (Like produced like a mechanical mod). I am not sure how your device uses Vrms and Mean to adjust the voltage to your atty. I guess you would have to ask the engineer that designed the circuit. In my opinion, our devices are not designed to be as accurate as many would like. I really feel like the numbers on the readout are just there so you can find what you like and get it back to that setting again later. If you like the rms output, use it, or vice versa. There are many people that are perfectly happy with the twisting the little dial on the bottom of a spinner, never knowing exactly how much voltage they are actually set to. I just got an iStick a few days ago. I just watched PBusardo's review. He gives it a thumbs down. His main reason is it uses Mean (Vavg) on it's display rather than Vrms. That is why many people that are using other devices at a certain wattage, find this one is too hot at the same wattage (or voltage). He goes in to quite a bit of detail and explains it pretty well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=_W1G7p_fCJw I hope this helps. PS: To all the electrical engineers/electronics experts. I am a hobbiest, I don't claim to be and expert at all...if I screwed this up, please let me know!

  14. Following a few article links, which started with this one about a town in MA which plans to ban sales all tobacco and related products (including e-cigs) because of the devil called Nicotine... , I ran across this one from Discovery Magazine, touting the medical benefits of Nicotine for Parkinson's Disease, Tourette’s and schizophrenia. But, the interesting portion of the article was independent research buried within, proving that Nicotine (alone) is NOT the addictive component of cigarettes (cigars, etc.), and alluding to the fact that Big-Tobacco, researchers, and our government have known this for decades, despite their demonizing of Nicotine publicly! If Nicotine were so addictive and deadly, do you think we'd be able to buy it from any corner-drug-store, or in bulk on the Internet? Try buying Morphine without a prescription or FDA license.... You can't even buy Lidocaine (Cocaine derivative used as an anesthetic by dentists all over the world) over-the-counter without a prescription or FDA license (in strengths greater than 0.5% - and usually only in first-aid sprays or ointments)! Saying Nicotine is the evil, addictive component of smoking, IMO, is like saying that motor oil is the addictive component that forces people to drive, and thus the leading (evil) cause of vehicle accidents and vehicle related deaths.
