    I couldn't believe this..

Interesting.... It's the same with guitars (and other musical instruments). You can buy an "american made" instrument (and Thats debateable itself as some components are imported for sure) but the Amercan made instrument is going to cost you 3 - 5 times the cost of an import. And the damning thing is the quality of the imports is exceptional! You can buy a quality guitar for $1500 and less while you will pay upwards of $3000 and more for something comparable with a name. How do you compete with that? Is that not the success story of Toyota and others? I dont know what to do either but it doesnt give me much choice when recommending instruments to students.....

  3. Ive been down to two cigarettes a day for a month now. This morning I threw the pack away to see how it went. This afternoon at a job site I walked dead center into a smoking area, stood there for a moment, then moved on. I really expected to fall in the floor screaming for one but I took a few vapes and surprisingly I lived lol. Im not sure what was taking my dumb arse so long, to finally push myself over that edge, but its done and Im digging it. Now to start trimming down the nic levels. This forum is more supportive than many realize so keep up the good work members and thank you.

  4. Therein lies the dilemma. The auto industry is a little different but same concept. The thing the import manufacturers have done are open up non union assembly facilities sporadically throughout the US that pay median salaries when compared to other industries but seem to locate themselves where wages are lower, education levels are lower so they can maintain profitability. Hell a VW assembly facility just opened a few years ago in Chattanooga and they actively recruited fast food workers because they could pay lower wages and still maintain employee loyalty because there are not a lot of other options in the workplace for their employees. They do this so that can taut they are "Built in the USA" when in reality they ship all the parts in from the corporations home country to be assembled here and sold then the profits from that sale also go overseas. Did you know for every 1% market share the imports gain on the domestic auto companies roughly 18000 jobs are lost here? Maybe I am getting old (44) and grumpy and I definitely have a dog in the hunt financially but things like this drive me as crazy as seeing a Toyota Camry driving down the street with a "Proud WWII Veteran" sticker on the back. Talk about irony. But then again, these are just my feelings and everyone looks at things differently. Talking about a Vamo (and not likely a real Vamo but rather a knockoff) for $26 or whatever is hardly 500% markup to buy it here for $40-$45 from a reputable supplier in the US. is not that big a deal to me to just pay a little extra, have it in 2-3 days or less and have full recourse should something happen to it. Its all a vicious cycle. Price oriented shoppers buy overseas made products to save a few bucks, American companies cannot compete because we do not let 10 year olds work 12 hour days in factories, jobs are lost and American companies have to charge more because it costs more to employ people in the environment we have here. My business grosses around $250k-$275k per month just from the sales department and after salaries, healthcare, taxes and all the other expenses we have turned a net profit in only 3 of the first 9 months this year EVEN THOUGH our sales have increased 10-12% per year since 2009. The government is regulating us out of business and laying in wait are the countries that make products with no environmental regulations, no labor laws and can ship their products to the US with little to no tariff while charging exorbitant tariffs on our exports which now are primarily agricultural products.

  5. The thing with SEC football is any team, on any given day, can upset another. Im still pouting over the Bama Ole Miss game so dont loose hope. Im a Bama fan living dead center in a huge UT, Ole Miss fan base so I have to be careful I get your rant on buying US and do as much as possible. The few things I do order direct from China are China made and have a 500% mark up here. Absolutely I will pay more for US made but I wont be raped by greedy distributors here. I think the Scout uniforms made in China representing a US tradition is a bit much, that would chap me also.

  6. I could not agree more. I am 44 now and have had a top plate (denture) since I was 27 due to growing up with hard water and not being taught proper dental hygiene at an early age. In the last 3 years I have had the top plate replaced with an implant and on my bottom teeth I have had all them capped with 8 requiring Root Canals. Had dental appointments every Monday at 10am for a 7 month stretch to get all these done. One tooth would not numb and I gave "sedation dentistry" a shot and let me say NEVER again will I have a root-canal or any major dental work done any other way. No Novocaine, no numb feeling....just a killer buzz and a fun afternoon. With my insurance sedation cost only about $100 more than traditional and I have spent more than that to feel as good as I did with sedation recreationally back in the day haha.

  7. When we remodeled our showroom two years ago we tried to only use products made in the USA and it was impossible just like it is impossible outside a very few exceptions to buy E-cig stuff made in the USA. What we did was the best we could do....we bought the stuff from a US supplier at least. Don't get me wrong I am not chastising those that order directly from China its just something my conscience and overall paradigm will not allow me to do. Funny story. Back when the last Olympics were going on people (Fox News especially keyed in on this one) went ape over the fact the uniforms were made in China. A lot of my friends at the lake were going off about it in the cove all weekend when the story broke and became the headline du jour. When I pointed out the people complaining the most in my group drive Lexus, Acura and Toyota I was quick to point out the hypocrisy. We live in a society that wants to pick and choose when they feel Patriotism applies with the way they spend money and even though many products are "assembled" in the USA the parts and more importantly the profits are made and benefit the country of origin for all these companies. I am also a Scoutmaster for one of the local Cub Scout packs and our Boy Scouts of America uniforms are made in Thailand or China. It drives me nuts. Hardly ANY company can make a product like a car, electronics and other tech heavy items without parts or some assembly overseas because we have all but eliminated our ability to make them in an affordable manner domestically BUT if just a few people realize by supporting companies that export their profits from the USA to other countries a huge difference can be made. Is American pride dead or just in critical condition? Is it a symptom of a global economy or are we so quick to try and save a buck if just doesn't come into play? I mean this as a serious question and am not trying to hijack the thread any further but I just cannot say nothing when this is one of my biggest "things" lol. Sorry for the soap box lol.

  9. I am with you on this one. I wore braces from 5th grade to Senior year. I made them take them off. Through years of on and off drug use (in my youth) My teeth deteriorated. When I got clean, I had my teeth fixed. I spent 10's of thousands getting them fixed. I had 6 root canals on top and 2 on bottom. Jump ahead to my late 30's. The damage was so bad that they decided to pull my top teeth, and give me dentures. I am one of the lucky ones, no one knows if I don't tell them. I had all of the bottom ones fixed at that time. 6 more root canals, and 2 caps. To make things worse they tell me my bottom teeth will probably not make it into my 50's. I have been hoping that by the time I get there, I can afford implants, or locked in dentures. The top ones have been a life saver, I can eat without pain and they don't have gaps. From what I hear bottom dentures are not enjoyable. I am sorry for the long drawn out explanation. I just want you to know "I feel your pain". There is no pain like tooth pain!

  10. Ok, I'll give the 12 a go, and see. And after my last experiment going to the hour long banking exercise without vaping, if I can't soon find lower mg juice, I'll try not vaping an hour or so before sleeping. I'm so brave! Bring it on! It would be so great to sleep through the night without having to drink all the available beer in the neighbourhood

  12. Copper-brite is a copper specific cleaner with a protective additive built-in. Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish is great for cleaning just about any metal surface, too. I use to clear-coat the brass handle of my walking stick, but after a while, the acids from your skin wear it down anyway, and it looks even worse with all the flaking and peeling and yellowing. After a few times of striping the clear-coat, cleaning the brass and re-coating it... I gave up and learned to love the patina

  13. Yep, I tried using a single-coil in my AeroTank... wasn't impressed with the function, nor was I disappointed in it either, but yes, it did work! Then again, I bought in bulk for single and dual-coils several months ago, so I'm set for using the correct coil for at least another year (or two), before I even have to think about rebuilding the heads I was mostly trying to point out for a noobie, that your second and/or third tank purchases should be the same tank, or at least a tank style that will use the same coils so you don't have that initial cost of keeping up with two VERY different coils... such as Kanger and Aspire... unless of course you are not liking the first tank you bought and want to change brand/style....

  14. Ugh. I am so over having root canals. Even for me, two in two months is a bit much. I hope yours goes painlessly and is over before you know it. My dentist is a miracle worker and can get me numb so I feel nothing. That's not an easy task. He's not sure what to make of me, though. My physiology is so weird. Two roots were melded into one, the third root was pointing off toward Egypt and curved outward. Me? I kept falling asleep in the dentist chair while he was busy drilling.

  16. Done that. Just a couple weeks ago I went in for the second root canal in two months' time. Ow. What did you have done, Bebop? Hope the Novocaine wears off quickly but leaves you painless.

    First kit, new at vaping

You did know that you can use KPT single coils in the KPT3 and Aerotanks, right? I do this all the time with no problems. Got a few rebuilt KPT coils with micro tiger coils around 1.5 - 1.8 ohm from Comp at Fadora Vapor. They work better than the dual coils in the tanks mentioned previously. See? One coil fits...lots.

I really can't add anything to what everyone has already said! It sounds like you have a great setup. I too have to stress the backups, and backups for backups. Welcome to Vapor Talk!

  21. I really have not been using mods very long. I don't have much experience with any mods except the 2 that I own. First I guess I should make sure you are using an ohm meter and have studied up on ohms law. The Tobh is a good RDA to start with. I have 2 and I really like them. As for the mod, I would really look around for something that gets good ratings. I really like the magnetic buttons myself. The 1:1 Nemesis seems to be a very popular choice. I really like my 4nine, but it is a little scarey with it's hybrid top. The positive pin of the atty must extend to make contact with the battery. If the center part does not extend enough it will cause a direct short. It is also picky about battery length, there is no adjustment except for using the center pin of the atty and/or small magnet spacers. My other mod is a GP Paps clone. It is fair, but it took a lot of filing, fitting, and adjusting to make it work at all. I got both of these for under $20. I also have not had good luck running tanks on them. I like a little more power. With a 1.8 ohm atty it will only be 9.8 watts in the beginning, and will slowly go down from there. I like the consistent power of an electronic box. I am sorry I am not more help!

That being said, the anti-depressants/anti-anxiety/anti-psychotics saved my life, but once I was over the problems, they caused more issues than they solved.

  24. If you have a Nautilus, getting a Nautilus mini is a good choice, because they both can use the same BVC coils Keeping up with only one brand/style of coil is always cheaper. I've had my Nautilus for only a couple days now, and been using Kanger single and dual-coils for over 6-months. Now I have 3 coil-types to keep up with But, I must say, KPT2 and AeroTanks have served me well, and I find little difference between my AeroTank and my Nautilus, with slightly more robust flavor from the Nautilus (mostly based on the chimney design - more like Kayfun/Russian), but I can buy two AeroTanks for the price of one Nautilus (and the coils are <$1 each, compared to $3 Aspire coils). There is a ton of info, basic, and more in-depth in the cloud-chaser sub-threads... pros and cons of different devices, coil-building, wicking, juices, and above all else... SAFETY when dealing with an RBA/RDA and Mech MOD!

  26. 220 is my goal but I may dip just below that. Weight Watchers shows for my height I should be a max of 196 but dam I am 6'2" and a large frame. I was about 210 in college in the mid 90s and just didnt look right. I think keeping it between 220 and 225 is the ticket for me long term.

  27. I am right there with you I don't like the fruit flavors either. I am just starting out 4 days vaping 2 without an analog. I have found help with an itaste vtr and the flavor gorilla juice from alien vapor. It is like banana something. Keep at it and you will succeed.

  28. Yep. It tasted like a real clove. When I was vaping it I had a toothache which turned out I needed a root canal. The juice, applied to the gum with a Q-tip, numbed it right up until I could get to a dentist. Got my nic fix AND it worked on my toothache. Win-win.

There aren't many rules on this forum. Just play nice, stay away from no-no subjects of discussion, and you should be just fine. Actually, Jeff is the one who wields the scary ban hammer. Mine is a thin ban wand with lots o'bling. Think of it as a nice, thin switch, it hurts more than the blunt hammer.

    Trying Something New

I'm right with you on the "low-pack-anxiety"... if I had less than one unopened pack, I was manic until I made it to the store to restock! Now that I vape, the anxiety has virtually gone away, at least to the fact that I don't have to check to make sure I have a minimum 4-hour supply with me just to check the mailbox My OCD won't let me get down to one of something anyway... I tend to stock-pile everything from light-bulbs, toilet-paper, dish-soap... anything non-perishable, I like to have at least a 2-3 month supply on hand... and there are times in my life when I was glad I had a few things stockpiled
