    Solving Karma

Friday I went to the bank with the intention of using my new found feelings that vaping has become more of just a habit and fun hobby compared to the addiction to all those chemicals in tobacco smoke. I had decided to leave my vape equipment home while I went to the bank. Usually on a Friday I can count on at least 40 people ahead of me on the queue and as many as 60 so I have to leave a rather large block of time to do what I need to do. Usually I just vape with all the smokers out on the sidewalk in front of the bank and we all BS about how incompetent the bank is and what they should do to fix it This Friday, I got to the bank and there were only 2 people in front of me and I hardly had time to get my papers together to go to the teller and was out the door in 10 minutes! Sheesh! Karma! I wanted the long queue so I could test my feeling of being with the smokers without vaping and see if I really had cravings or was I just vaping with them out of habit but was thwarted by good luck. I'll try again on Monday.

    Not totally new...

I've been lurking off and on since June of this year. Got tired of not being able to reply to post, so I guess I need to get my 3 post in[emoji6] I'm just about to turn 50, married for 27 yrs, father of 1... Was never a cigarette smoker (that would be my wife), I was a cigar and pipe smoker. Started vaping after I got my wife started back in February. Went through a bunch of various batteries and tanks. Now pretty much use one of 4 mechanical mods with a kayfun or an orchid tank.

    Kangor mini pro II leak

Are you referring to the gasket between the base and the body of the tank, or the gasket on the coil itself where it mates to the base? Either way, you likely have a damaged o-ring. Simple fix to replace them. Kanger offers tank-o-ring kits for a couple bucks, or you can usually pick them up at big-box hardware stores. Just remember to get Silicone, and take the old ones with you to match them up correctly. If it is the one at the coil... just pull one from an old coil (or a new one) and you're golden. OH, another thing... when you disassemble the tanks for cleaning, o-rings become dry and will twist/pull/deform as you tighten things down. One way to stop this is to lubricate the edges of the glass (where it contacts the o-rings) with a drop of water or drop of juice. This will help them to "compress", rather than "drag". Tighten "snug", but not "gorilla-tight".

  8. Didn't think that at all, Jason... I just wanted to further clarify your statement to point out the fact that it does remember your last settings, regardless of which mode you're on It drives me nuts when people (especially those in the vape-shops) think it is possible to set BOTH Wattage and Voltage (at the same time) on a VV/VW device... it's one OR the other... It's a lot like people thinking you can use a dimmer-switch on a light-bulb to use less Voltage, but still maintain 60W output at the bulb (yes, I know a dimmer switch does not alter the Voltage... it increases the resistance, lol, but this is how far too many people perceive how they work)

  9. You are exactly right! I have never used that feature, but will now that you pointed it out, I never realized it did that. Please don't think I was referring to you Earthling! It seems like every one I meet on the streets using a mvp gets this wrong! I have only encountered 3. 2 were B&M employees, and 1 a hotel clerk. Each one had a nautilus on them and I asked them what settings they are running them on. The guy I asked at the vape shop a few weeks ago told me he was running 5volts and 8watts. I had my app on my phone, so I asked him where he got a 3ohm coil for a nautilus. He said it isn't it is a 1.8 ohm. I just had to smile. The guy next to me kinda snickered under his breath....

  10. HERE is a good online calculator... just enter two variables, and it will give you the other values I also charted out sweet-spot values (as well as limitations) for the MVP a few months ago -- Red values are outside operation-limits, blue are within operation-limits, and green are generalized sweet-spot for most juices or personal preferences: Here is one based on Wattage setting: Here is one based on Voltage setting: And... the operational-range:

  11. BCarter has it right... All of the juices I vape taste best between 7.5W and 9.0W, and I do use different coils (1.5, 1.8, 2.0), so I use VW mode and set leave it at 8.0W or 8.5W for weeks on end. Regardless of which tank I pop on it (dual-coil or single-coil of any resistance), the device will auto-adjust the Voltage to provide the same vape experience for all of those tank/coil combos. Now, when I use my Russian 91% on my MVP, I do switch to VV mode and lock it at 3.9 or 4.0V. The unit will remember both settings and you can switch back and forth between the two by just pressing the "P" or "U" buttons one time (to display the puff counter for that setting) to make the swap between Wattage or Voltage control, respectively. It will take a little time to find your sweet-spot for your juices, but honestly, using VW mode for most people makes it easier to dial-in, and works best if you have several different tanks or use different resistance coils. Even if you're like Bcarter and use only one style tank and stick with one resistance coil... using VW mode will compensate for an older (gunked-up) coil which has increased resistance as it ages... it will apply more voltage to maintain the same Wattage throughout the life of the coil, thus maintaining a more consistent vape, longer.

  13. Kind of lost track posting in this thread but an update. As of this morning I am down a total of 48.4 lbs and am at my lowest weight in over a decade! Only 40 more lbs to my final goal! Self high five!

  18. Just an update: the airflow screw finally drove me bonkers enough and I went through with my idea. It worked out just how I thought it would! Screw is nice and snug now. no more backing itself out or being loose and sloppy. I only flattened one of the threads on the end of the screw, so it still starts in the hole nice and easy then once it gets in all the way it becomes more resistant to turning but not so resistant that you are forcing it. Highly recommend this as all you need is a pair of pliars to flatten a thread on the screw by squeezing one of the end threads with the pliars.

    Staying on The Path

That's really great for you. Congratulations. I still get a surprising unexpected urge when I just happen to glance at the display at someplace like 7-11 .... all those pretty packs lined up behind the register. Then I just vape a couple of hits and all is fine. And 30 days is really a milestone. I remember well. And the health effects just keep getting better and better in baby steps, but suddenly you notice things like just running up a few flights of stairs and not being the least winded. It's great!
