  1. mkauthen - Welcome to Vapor Talk! These guys here won't steer you wrong! I have not been doing this long and know way more than most of the people in the local vape shops! I learned most of it here! I totally understand on the bad cigarette taste! The last one I smoked was late one night on my wife's birthday. I was in a motel and went out to the car due to the fire alarms going off (false alarm) I really didn't want it, but it was the last one I had. It tasted awful, nearly sickening! I wrote the date/time on the pack and wrapped it up and gave it to my wife for her birthday. It has been a strong motivator! Good Luck!

  2. yes, you are correct, make a coil and leave one of the leads long enough to go through the center post and build another coil on the other side of the center post. The hard part is making a tight coil on the other side becuase you have to wrap it on the mod. Rip Trippers does a decent video on it.

There is a lot of info on doing builds in the Cloud Chasing section of the forum. 1. You will need a RDA if you really want to cloud chase. 2. You will need to learn about doing it safely (Do your homework and research) Battery safety, Building Coils, OHMs Law, meter testing coils. It is not something you want to just jump into without taking the time to learn. We don't want to hear that you need face reconstruction. 3. Again you will need a good RDA (Rebuildable Drip Atomizer) 4 Learn how to build coils for flavor and clouds. Welcome to V|T

  4. Yes. It is all the same. The only things I find a little different is the things are not as linear. The electrical laws don't ever change, but more watts doesn't mean better necessarily. There is so many other variables that you can't plug into calculators, such as, atomizer type, airflow, wicking material, coil size and placement, juice PG/VG/Nicotine ratios and your individual taste! Here are some of the calculators I use: http://www.steam-engine.org http://coiltoy.ermeso.com/ http://www.ohmslawcalculator.com/ohms_law_calculator.php There are also android and iphone apps too! Good luck, keep reading, and ask questions! There are a lot of smart, and experienced people on this site that will always be glad to help. I can only hope to have a small portion of the knowledge of the people here some day! Welcome to Vapor Talk!

  5. I hate to say I have been a little lazy. I am still running the dual vertical on my TOBH I put the coil closer to the negative post which puts the coil right above the 3 air holes (on each side). I am running .4(something) ohms. I am using 5 wraps of 26 gauge around a 3.4mm pin. It has been great! I have not had much reason to experiment. I am sure I will when time allows. I really like the vertical arrangement. It seems to be a better vape than the horizontal coils of the same size/wrap. I really don't know why that is. Is it airflow? I have 2 of these atty's so I can experiment, I just am enjoying it so much, I may get some 0 nicotine, so I can vape it more. I may have to start buying this juice by the gallon!

  6. Yeah, it's a very personal thing. I love my twisted 28g coils. I also fell in love with parallel coils. parallel 28 always hits the spot.

    Drippers are taking over

I like my drip but, I like my tanks for when I'm on the go. I don't want to fuss with dripping and driving. It harkens back to dropping my lighter on the floor board and almost running off the road trying to get it. LOL There is also the unexpected bumps that make me miss the atty and get juice all over me and my lap or steering wheel.

    Batteries

All of the Ego style batteries - vision spinners, ego twists, evods etc are disposables. They generally have a maximum amount of recharge cycles which falls around 300 or so (that's 300 full discharges so charging a half full battery counts 1/2, for example) That has been found to vary widely. I have had batteries die in 6 or nine months but one of my first batteries, well over a year, is still going strong...... Back ups.......think back ups. You never really now when one will quit on you.

    NOOOO!

i vape everywhere. I have yet to have a restaurant tell me to not do it. on a side note i am very less obvious about it in restaurants. no big clouds or anything but i leave my rig on the table for all to see, and often get asked about it by waitresses

    Beer & vaping

Vaping gear is so diverse which is good but could be overwhelming for someone new who wants to ditch analogs and try vaping instead. There is something for everyone, otherwise everyone would be on ciggalikes, and we all know that does not work for everyone. For those who have found the right gear based on their needs and goals early, that is absolutely awesome. Others have to go through a series of progression to find theirs. Noobs by definition are inexperienced , and the transition is either through meticulous research or by asking around which is what vape forums are for - support base for vapers of all types without prejudice. In other forums, I noticed some very experienced vapers who are elitist - anyone not sub-ohming or cloud chasing are beneath them, and anyone asking for help gets ridiculed instead of helping them or pointing them to the right direction (granted others don't take take the time to research basic stuff so that may be too tiring for them to do) which imo is just as bad because it will just drive others to go their own without the right equipment and know-how. Then you have very passionate brand loyalist that if someone mentions something they do not like about "their" brand, the thread immediately gets ugly and childish. All that passion is better directed towards FDA instead Back on topic, I have yet to find the right flavor for me that goes well with beer or social drinking. I do not crave analogs that much when drinking but I do chain vape whenever I drink.... and when on occasions that I drink enough, flavors do not matter anymore. haha
