best battery
Compenstine and one other reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
You should NOT be stacking batteries... these are not AA Flashlights! Slight variances in battery chemistry or discharge rates can cause catastrophic or deadly results! Seriously, I mean no disrespect here, and I appreciate your enthusiasm to jump into Mech Mods, RDA/RBA, building coils, etc., but if you don't get a good grasp of the basics (and heed some of the advice you've been given already), I fear you're going to hurt yourself... and none of us want to see that happen!2 points -
I figured since he is likely going to die in a battery explosion in the very near future I figured we better go ahead and put dibs on his stuff. I call all of his copper mech mods.1 point

This is insane
Vapehead101 reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
I couldnt agree more with this Chris. It is a disturbing trend to see some of the questions that are asked. I do not chime in because I have vaped for about a year and a half now and never even considered anything I have to build or rebuild because its not in my forte' of skills lol. It really should be an activity practiced by the top few % of vapers that have an honest and true understanding of it. Like I have said many times, the misuse of Mechs and batteries by noobs not ready for advanced PVs are in my opinion the single biggest threat to the future legality of vaping.1 point -

26650 batteries

I think this one is for 18000 series devices (186530,18350 and 18500). I didn't follow the order process thru so I don't know if 26650 is an option. Good luck!1 point -
Why 60 amp batteries are pointless.
jasonculp reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Math is math... but for some people math is pizza You are correct. Amp draw (based on Voltage and Resistance) does not change just because the battery is capable a higher discharge rate. It's called Ohm's LAW for a reason Many people have a misconception that Amps are PUSHED... this is very wrong, but it sells batteries! Amps are DRAWN, based on the load! Which is why you can SAFELY jump-start a lawn-mower or motorcycle with a car, even if it is running (alternator generating 40-100A). The mower or bike will only draw the Amps it needs to start... no more, no less! I've tried to explain Ohm's Law to several people before, but there are some that have read somewhere on the Internet, or been told by their cousin's sister-in-law's half-brother that "60-amps hits harder", so it is now "Gospel Truth". These are usually the same people that will tell you that their Nickel plated .357 will "shoot clean-through an engine block" simply based on the premise that it's shiny... or that paying an extra $250 for a yellow-top, ultra-mega, 2000-cca battery for their 4-cyl pick-up was the best purchase EVER, because it makes it run "more better".... The general rule we were taught in school (back before fire was invented), is to use a battery capable of at least double your expected load (for safety margin and lower heat) as a minimum. Is there anything wrong with using a 60A battery when you'll never peak above 8.4A (based on 0.5 Ohm coil @ 4.2V peak)? Nope! Nothing wrong with it at all... But, it doesn't make it any better than a 30A battery.1 point -

Ma??? Don't tell me you dissecting tools too.1 point -
I just built my first RDA (omega). I used 28 gauge on a 3mm screwdriver, did 7 wraps, dual coil. IIt ended up being .86 ohms. You definately need an ohm reader so you can be sure your build is correct. I'd suggest starting at a higher resistance. A B&M built my first one at .3 ohms and it was unvapable (way too hot).1 point

Ive settled on 4 volts 10 watts 2 ohm coil.im pleased with it.maybe the elvt was a bit over kill for my needs. But id rather have more power then ill need at the moment. im really liking this elvt. Thanx.1 point
-
Depends on how many ohms you want your coil at when you finish. Before starting anything, though, do you have an ohm meter? An APV should not be depended on to give you an accurate reading. That's the most important part to building your own coils. Safety first!1 point

As stated, they are fine for regulated mods, DNA,SX chip mods etc but not good for mechs. I use them in my DNA mods with great results. A 1200mah lipo lasts longer then a 2500mah 18650 lion cell.1 point

Compenstine's Will

LMAO I'm still alive and kicking and I will say that I absolutely am switching to all Sony batteries. Though it is dark here I did finally got one to short fully. I will do this same thing tomorrow when I have full daylight. No Boom little venting and some discharge. Though I'm sure it would put a nice burn on someone if one of these shorted in a pocket. The Sony did not have the violent reaction as the Trust fire. Once it cools I will post pics1 point -
Pass thru is fine but I'd opt for the Vision Spinner II. 1600mah and way better construction.1 point

If you don't mind box mods, you might consider picking up an iTaste MVP. They are a vv/vw device with a monstrous battery life and can be found for $40 or less on sale. It's a good mod for experimenting with variable wattage to find your happy place. Good travel device too. Hope that helps! Keep calm and vape on!1 point -

damn it... I changed juices finally! but now I miss the little freshness at the end of a drag with my peachblast............................. this is gonna take a lot of trial and error... i wish there was a berry flavor with a fresh finish! not as harsh as a menthol flavor though it was really sublte. the eternal struggle!1 point -
The VTC4 Challenge.
Bushwick reacted to Compenstine for a topic
I have 1 that is at the end of it's rotation life. It also has had some juice get between the wrapper and battery. Though this will not harm the battery, I feel it would be the best one for this test. I will be doing this test in about 1 hour. I have a staging area set up for it and the battery has a full charge of 4.22 volts. I will be posting the video tonight in the other thread with the Trust fire battery. I will need time to get it reduced and edited so please be patient as I get this done.1 point -

Taste budds or juice?
Mtdobies reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
I have two favorite flavors, and several others that get an occasional hit as a treat to my tastebuds It's not uncommon to grow tired of a flavor as you get your sense of taste back from smoking... sometimes you just need a new flavor, and sometimes it is vapor's tongue where you need to switch up flavors and drink LOTS more water!! Also, be aware of a failing coil or dirty juice. Heat from the coil(s) can cause a "good" juice to go dark and taste funny, especially if you have a habit of topping off a tank before it's half-used, and a failing coil not only will be hard to draw, but can also give juices a "different" taste.1 point -

I too came "this close" to making the mistake. Like you I am not usually one to jump on 'free' and I am going to turn 67 in a month so age is no guarantee --- I came VERY close. Sorry you had the issue - as suggested your credit card company / financial institution should be the saving grace for you. It is a pain - but they come in handy when we have these moments. Cigarettes really are to blame! Another reason to beat those darn things! Be well. Dave1 point -

Just tried the 100% VG and have a very distinct feeling I wont be going back. At least for me, it is smoother with less burn on my throat than the mixes I have tried (50/50, 70/30, 30/70)1 point
