*Share Your Coil Builds*
Joshuab3687 and one other reacted to 3Rutez for a topic
My brother had the IGO-W I lent him rebuilt at the local vape bar. He called me, asking me why his mod and fire button were getting scorching hot everytime he took a vape. I told him to stop using it and asked what the resistance was. He said he didn't know. I then asked if they checked it with a meter after it was rebuilt. He said no, they didn't. WTF! ?! I told him to use my meter and let me know what it reads..... .06ohm. He is running a Sony VTC4, which is only safe down to .2ohm, any lower and you are in the red zone. I checked the build this morning and they did a dual 4 wrap parallel with 24g Kanthal. What kinda idiot would do that?? The whole point of a parallel build is that it gives you MORE surface area with less resistance. I went down to the shop with my brother and spoke with my friend, the owner, and told him to have a nice and informative discussion with his staff on safety.2 points -
Lightening Vapes - Great Product & Service To Match It
3Rutez reacted to charliestheman for a topic
When things go well it's easy to offer good service, but when there's an issue is when you get to see someone's true colors. I'm happy to say that Lightening Vapes gets 5 stars in my book. I was skiddish from ordering from them because they're so cheap. But I decided to try it. I had a 30' roll of Kanthal and I was wrapping coils having to be extra careful since I had a limited supply (in my mind anyway 30' was limited.) I started to order from Amazon but I found while browsing that Lightening Vapes had better prices than Temco, and they're a vape store with all kinds of other things I "needed." I ordered 100' of 28 guage, 100' of 30 guage and 100' of 32 guage Kanthal A-1, a nice ohm meter, some ego-510 adapters, and it came with a poster. I got it shipped for $30. That's 300 feet of Kanthal and an ohm meter for only a little more than the cost of a few 30' "Vapowire" rolls. And I like the wire better! But the best part is that I realized the post office returned my package to the sender due to an error on my part. I emailed Sean Monday, 30 minutes later there was an expedited package shipped out again and I had the tracking number. Sean sent it to my other residence at a new address and I tracked it the whole way. We ended up exchanging 4 emails, and every time he was replying instantly. And I got a free vaping poster that you're allowed 1 with every order if you so choose. They have every kind of wire you can imagine, and it's cheap enough to experiment with new coils and wire that you might not normally purchase, like Ribbon Wire or something. http://www.lightningvapes.com/1 point -
My opinion is that things will change sometime. We don't know when but it will change. If you are vaping to beat an addiction you probably should buckle down and start working to no nic . If you are just trying to beat the system you need to start allowing for a huge cost increase and less choices in your future. This comes up every year since vaping started and every year there are folks stocking up for "Armageddon" I have been at this for quite some time and I can do with or without the nic. I feel confident I can just stop if I don't like what happens when it happens. Good luck and enjoy while you can.1 point

It's a special model. It can be a little unsettling some times.1 point

It's difficult to forsee a full ban. I just dont know how it's possible. Largely due to the fact that DIY is so easy. I could see saving a few tanks, not tossing your spent coils. Get a roll of kanthal. Even then how do you ban this stuff? It's just not practical. I see heavy taxation, strict regulation which means the little guy will be out and big tobacco moves in. It's all about controlling an industry that's here to stay. And only the veterans will be upset as they will remember "the way it was".1 point

Question about tanks
Tam reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
That's not a huge issue for me at the moment... I'm only running two main flavors, and a granny-smith apple to "cleanse my pallet". But, using different colors is a really good idea for keeping things straight as I try more flavors! Thanks for the tip (pun intended ) Now I have the excuse to buy more tanks, and a bunch of drip-tips1 point -
Thanks for the help both of you. I'm really enjoying this forum. Lots of answers and understanding for the new people who are trying to do things the right way from square one.1 point

It's all Chevy vs Ford vs Dodge, they all have ther good and bad, I have owned or tried most on your list, skip the unitank, that's crap, didn't like the Nautilus bout coils are pricey and I'm a new coil *****. I stick with protanks with an aerobase cuz its one coil type and I'm a poor animal lover..1 point

He is definitely the juice wizard. My personal favorite is the Cinnamon Chamomile. No matter what you order, you will not be disappointed. The flavors are so authentic and spot on to the names and descriptions.1 point

RDA
Love2VapeDaily reacted to Tam for a topic
Before buying any RDAs, get yourself a dedicated ohm meter. That's the most important piece of equipment you can get for building your own coils. Seriously. You could end up blowing more than clouds if you don't test every build before using it.1 point -
Just a question about dripping juice.

I started the same way too. Using ego style setup right now but moving up to either an APV or mechanical mod in a week or so. Been off analogs for a month now. Glad your here.1 point
