Two years ago on May 10th I picked up my first e-cig after seeing a co-worker with one and asking a ton of questions. Went to my local B&M and got an eGo-C upgrade pass through with a CE4 tank and a bottle of 24 mg orange cream and two other flavors I don't even remember now. Still continued to smoke while I got used to the set up. Five days later on May 15th I put down the cigarettes and went to vaping full time. There were six unopened packs of smokes in my fridge that I kept for a year just in case before I finally got rid of all but one. That one is still there to remind me that I don't want them anymore. Since then I've tried smoking a few times because I couldn't believe I wouldn't go back -- just to find them foul tasting. I'd have to go brush my teeth (several times) and take a shower to get the smell of smoke off of me. My health has gotten better with vaping. I feel so much better. And I'm much happier because I finally got off the cigarettes that had me hooked for the better part of 38 years. About six months in I found this wonderful forum that helped me spend even more money. In turn I've helped others spend even more. All joking aside I've found some very special people here I'm proud to call friends. They've supported me, answered my questions, made me laugh even when I didn't want to. It's been a great ride so far. Thank you all for sharing it with me.1 point

Ebay Nautilus warning
Tam reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
I am sure some people and shops have good experiences with EBay. I spend $3000 a month on Ebay Motors myself; it is a great form of advertising and we have great success with it.. I am just saying when it comes to small items like coils, batteries, and tanks it is not worth the potential hassle to deal on EBay. Mods, Hybrids, etc maybe but the standard stuff never. I just have very little sympathy for getting bad crap off Ebay. Sorry if that sounds harsh but in the year + I have been active in this forum I have seen as many EBay complaints as every other vendor combined. I find the best way to get good deals and great service is to pick a vendor and stick with them. Just my path, may not be right for everyone.1 point -

Preparing for bootlegging
Tam reacted to Compenstine for a topic
Sorry but No, I will not share my business plan on this board. If you want to ignore that your voice would/could help that is up to you. Just saying that every voice counts. This is not a case where we are vaping Non FDA approved ingredients. There is not one ingredient in my juice and the majority of Juice makers that is not FDA approved already. This is a case of Big Tobacco, Phrama and Government throwing their weight around because this industry is cutting into their bottom dollar and they want control over it. They have shown that they are not above lying and over exaggerating reports to get their way. No one is talking about people going to Jail here. With all do respect, I think your a little over the top with some assumptions here. Adversarial... what? CASAA? CASAA is a non profit advocate for the E-Cigarette industry that is made up of lawyers and others fighting the FDA on the front lines. Please before you start throwing out accusations here, you need to do some research into what is going on here. You speak as if you have already thrown in the towel on this and that is your choice. I chose to fight tooth an nail for every vaper, my business, and every other small business that will/could be affected by this. I don't think calling for a black market is a helpful approach at this time and that is my opinion. This same thing happened during prohibition and many people died from tainted alcohol. There needs to be regulation and not a single person/business would disagree with that. What needs to fought for is a fair playing field that will not cripple this industry creating job loss and putting 90% of the E-Cigarette industry out of business. This would in effect hand it over to Big Tobacco and Big Pharma on a FDA silver platter.1 point -

Innokin MVP 2.0 Operational Limitations - Graphs and Charts
VIAWOL reacted to Earthling789 for a topic
Based on another thread's discussion regarding the Innokin MVP 2.0's Voltage and Wattage limitations, I thought I'd post this up as a separate thread. Hopefully, it will help people out when choosing / selecting which Voltage / Wattage settings will properly function with their choice of Coil Resistance. This graph shows the Power-curve across the range of Coil Resistance and useable Voltage of the device: As you can see from the graph, there are some telling limitations of the device... being that (based on Coil selection), there are operational highs/lows or minimum/maximums for Voltage and/or Wattage, regardless of setting selections. Simply put, regardless of Voltage or Power selection (mode), based on the resistance of the Coil you are using, there are thresholds where the subsequent Voltage or Wattage minimum or maximum cannot be exceeded. Based on excessive selections, the device will default, up or down, to the closest Wattage (if in Voltage-mode) or Voltage (if in Power-mode) within it's operational parameters. Examples: A 1.0 Ohm coil will only fire at 3.30V in Voltage mode, providing 10.89W of power, or 11.0W in Wattage mode, using 3.32V maximum A 4.0 Ohm coil will only fire at minimum of 4.90V, up to 5.0V, and can only operate at 6.0W to 6.25W (max) A commonly used 1.5 Ohm coil cannot be operated at a Wattage setting below 7.5W, or exceed a Voltage setting above 4.1V A 2.4 Ohm coil will operate from 3.8V (@ 6.02W) to a maximum of 5.0V (@ 10.42W) or Wattage selection range from 6W (@ 3.79V) to a maximum of 10 Watts (@ 4.9V) A commonly used 2.2 Ohm coil is capable of operation from 3.63V through 4.92V, allowing for any Wattage selection Coils ranging from 1.9 Ohms to 2.2 Ohms are capable of operation at any Wattage setting of the device, but NOT all Voltage settings No Coil resistance is capable of operating across ALL Voltage settings without exceeding the minimum or maximum Wattage capabilities of the device Chart legend for charts below: RED numbers are outside the physical, operational limitations of the device, regardless of setting parameters higher or lower (example: A 1.0 Ohm coil set at 5.0V cannot physically fire more than 3.32V due to 11W maximum power restriction) BLUE shaded areas are within the physical, operational limitations of the device GREEN shaded areas are a middle-ground, sweet-spot of the operational parameters (not too high/low, but should not be considered "optimal" settings) Here is the chart which shows operational Voltage of the device, based on Wattage/Coil selection: Here is the chart which shows operational Wattage of the device, based on Voltage/Coil selection:1 point -

Advice on nic juice for mixing
Tam reacted to Compenstine for a topic
The best thing to do to maintain your flavor is what Tam said. Buy the exact same juice at 24mg and mix 1:1 that will give you 12mg without loosing the flavor. Just a clarification... Unless the flavoring that is added is also PG free then you do not have PG free juice, 90% of flavorings are PG Base liquids.1 point -

While SteezeOG's suggested set up is nice, I wouldn't recommend it for someone new to vaping. If you have the one Vamo and something happens to it -- you have no back up, and it's also more complicated than you're probably ready for right now with all the other stuff you'll need to learn. You'll most definitely want to move up to a better set up later, though, and the Vamo is a good APV (advanced personal vaporizer) when you do. A Vision Spinner kit like in the link below might be a better starting place. The Spinner is a variable voltage device and very simple, yet gives room to grow. http://www.carolinaecigs.com/smoov-vision-spinner-1300-mah-variable-voltage-kit-electronic-cigarette.html These 1300 mAh batteries should last you well over 12 hours (depending on your coil resistance, how much you vape, etc.), but it's a very good work horse. I have several that have lasted well over a year before they needed to be replaced, and they're still my go-to battery that I use every day despite having a couple mechanical mods and APVs in my arsenal. I would suggest getting a lower resistance coil like a 1.5 or 1.8 ohm for your clearomizer or tank. These two terms are basically interchangeable. The clearomizer is called that due to having a clear "tank" for your juices. I personally prefer the 1.8 ohm coils but you may find you like other resistances better, only you will be able to say which one works best for you once you try different ones.1 point

Since peppermint is a pretty strong flavor I go with 90% blueberry and 10% peppermint, or even less peppermint to start. Dang! I'm so sorry, Ma! Forgot to get the mojito out to you! Either today or tomorrow latest. Got busy with stuff and...I forgot. *hangs head*1 point

My Maraxus clone stopped firing
KickItVapeStyle reacted to Compenstine for a topic
Do you have a Multimeter? If so, narrow it down to your Mod or Atty. Check you MODs voltage. See if pressing the button is sending volts to the 510 connection. If you are getting voltage then it must be it is not be connecting to your atty. Check your atty on a different setup see if that works. What are you using for a atty... Tank, Carto, Dripper, Rebuildable Tank.. what brand?1 point -
My Maraxus clone stopped firing
KickItVapeStyle reacted to Compenstine for a topic
List of check points: Have you checked the battery? Have you checked to make sure you still have contact with the Atty and MOD? Have you checked to make sure the Battery has contact? Have you checked the contacts of your atty pin screws to make sure they are tight? Have you rechecked your OHMs to see if you have a direct short? These mods are very simple when it comes to powering up any one of these could be the issue.1 point -
A few questions here. Is the first graph actual physical testing done on the device, or is it a theoretical graph. Are all of the limitations due to the electronics or battery limitations? I'd be interested also on the VTR's graphs and actual testing and done with a good high end cell and a scrappy cell to see just how much a cheap battery handicaps the device. I have a feeling in the next year chipset makers will improve to the point that the device will only be held back by its battery.1 point

Juices strong in citric acid, cinnamon and/or menthol have been known to crack plastic tanks. Mojito, a flavor I love, cracked plastic tanks after it turned the tank a milky color due to high citric content. Wonder if that's what happened with your tank? In any case I vote for blueberry with a good bit of peppermint. Mmmmm1 point

As well as what Troy said... Get good batteries Sony VTC4s or VTC5s. I would go with a Patriot or IGO W for a first setup. The tank systems can be a little frustrating for first time builders.1 point -

Menthol Liquid BEWARE!
Tam reacted to Compenstine for a topic
I don't trust any menthol it is well known to cause issues like recrystallizing in lungs and making your lungs bleed. My guess is that it crystallized on the side of your tank. If your tank was plastic it may have had a reaction to the plastic and I would not use that tank and find a glass replacement.1 point -

What do you think about using cartoons and cereal characters on packaging?
VaporTron reacted to charliestheman for a topic
My stepdaughter told me there was 0 Nic e-liquid available and she's been watching kids on Facebook and some viney thing blow smoke rings and do smoke tricks. She's 14, I told her it was still bad, and about VG and PG causing hair to grow on nipples and female chests, thick wiry hair like chimpanzees. Hey I had to come up with something! I also reminded her that a teenage *** was still very capable of having my steel toe boot in it.1 point -

Laws?
Mtdobies reacted to Christopher for a topic
Well there are no laws against it in the United States. Although if you smoke it inside a public or private business I can guarantee you that the manager will have a few questions for you. But unfortunately there have been a few country's that have outlawed E Smoking. Mexico for one and parts of Australia for another. Although I don't have the exact reason why off hand, most E Smokers and Business owners there all agree it because they can't tax it. Although the government talks about wanting their citizens to be healthy, at the end of the day traditional cigarettes bring in a TON of money for the Government. If everyone moves to E-Smoking, guest what? No more money. It would be intresting to find out just how much money they make off of smokers...1 point
