    Two year anniversary

Two years ago on May 10th I picked up my first e-cig after seeing a co-worker with one and asking a ton of questions. Went to my local B&M and got an eGo-C upgrade pass through with a CE4 tank and a bottle of 24 mg orange cream and two other flavors I don't even remember now. Still continued to smoke while I got used to the set up. Five days later on May 15th I put down the cigarettes and went to vaping full time. There were six unopened packs of smokes in my fridge that I kept for a year just in case before I finally got rid of all but one. That one is still there to remind me that I don't want them anymore. Since then I've tried smoking a few times because I couldn't believe I wouldn't go back -- just to find them foul tasting. I'd have to go brush my teeth (several times) and take a shower to get the smell of smoke off of me. My health has gotten better with vaping. I feel so much better. And I'm much happier because I finally got off the cigarettes that had me hooked for the better part of 38 years. About six months in I found this wonderful forum that helped me spend even more money. In turn I've helped others spend even more. All joking aside I've found some very special people here I'm proud to call friends. They've supported me, answered my questions, made me laugh even when I didn't want to. It's been a great ride so far. Thank you all for sharing it with me.

  2. My stepdaughter told me there was 0 Nic e-liquid available and she's been watching kids on Facebook and some viney thing blow smoke rings and do smoke tricks. She's 14, I told her it was still bad, and about VG and PG causing hair to grow on nipples and female chests, thick wiry hair like chimpanzees. Hey I had to come up with something! I also reminded her that a teenage *** was still very capable of having my steel toe boot in it.

  3. YAY! Got hubby's birthday present! HIS VERY OWN BEGINNER'S VAPING SET UP! 2 Evod 1100 mah batteries 2 T3s tanks (he wants to clearly see the fluid level) and a sample bottle of tobacco juice from Juice Monkeys. All he wanted was a basic setup...... for now. I am so happy I've convinced him to try vaping. He's seen how much better I feel since the stinkies are part of my past, so he wanted to try it for himself! Happy dance here in NE Ohio!

  6. So I was looking through instagram and noticed companies are using a lot of packaging that seems to attract attention of our youth. I don't really have any problems with pastry flavors, and fruity flavors but when you slap "Capt'n Crunch" on a bottle, or use Characters that are originally targeted towards children on your packaging it seems really wrong. I mean isn't that one of the reasons the fda wants to regulate. In my eyes this is fueling the fire and only is it infringing on copy right laws but we are giving Amo to those trying to bring down the vape community. Regardless how delicious these juices may be I for one will not support them, they are hurting the community while trying to stuff their pockets. Tell me is a child finds a bottle like that lying around that they won't open and drink it cause they think it's okay cause there favorite cereal characters are on the packaging.

    Menthol Liquid BEWARE!

I just wanted to share my experience with using Menthol Liquid. I am not sure if I just had a bad batch, or maybe too much but it was CRAZY what that liquid did to my tank. First I did just get Menthol for my entire liquid. I didn't add a little to another flavor. It was ALL Menthol. After a day of Vaping the inside of my tank turned into what looked like a white cloudy color. I opened up the tank and saw that the inside walls of the tank had this crusted white substance. It was so crusted in there that I couldn't even scrap it off. That freaked me out. I was putting that in my lungs OMG! Did I over do it? or was it just a bad batch?

    Menthol Liquid BEWARE!

Scary stuff. I never smoked menthols or vaped menthol flavors. Never liked the feeling of having my lungs freeze.. I may have to give that spearmint a try. I LOVE spearmint. The only hot tea I will drink. I hope you find a flavor you like to use in place of the menthol!

    Menthol Liquid BEWARE!

I don't trust any menthol it is well known to cause issues like recrystallizing in lungs and making your lungs bleed. My guess is that it crystallized on the side of your tank. If your tank was plastic it may have had a reaction to the plastic and I would not use that tank and find a glass replacement.

  17. I am having great luck with stuff from vapedudes. I just received some Bwaffles (blueberry waffle) and cinnamon bun and they are both excellent! Looking to get some stuff from Fadora next (I like to support people who deserve it and compenstine seems like a good dude!) My STL Gooey Butter Cake from vapelicious and Drunkin Pirate Pudding from Virgin Vapors should be here tomorrow so I will be reviewing them soon as well! Thanks for the advice with Halo guys!

  18. Ditto. I have the Kanger Pro Tank 3 that takes dual coil and I found I prefer to use the single coil in it instead. You've gotten a lot of very good advice and links to some of our most popular vendors. Compenstine at Fadora will blow your socks off with his tasty juices and great customer service as will Brian at The Veteran Vaper.

  19. If you live in any of these States: Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming CASAA Needs Your Help! If you live in one of those states, you have a senator on the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pension Committee. That Committee is holding a hearing regarding e-cigarettes TOMORROW, Thursday, May 15th, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. The sole witnesses at that hearing will be be Tim McAfee, Director of CDC's Office on Smoking and Health, and Mitch Zeller, Director of FDA's Center for Tobacco Products. Both CDC and FDA have demonstrated they are intent on reducing the availability, quality, and use of e-cigarettes. They have consistently misled the American people about the risks associated with e-cigarette use, and we expect they will attempt to do the same for Congress. If you have an address in one of the above states, WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need you to (1) send an email through the new CQ Roll Call system (Part I), and (2) call your senator on the committee (Part II) using the phone numbers provided in Part III) I. CASAA has invested in CQ Roll Call, a program which will help connect our members easily and in a targeted fashion with their state and federal legislators on specifically crafted campaigns we design. While CQ Roll Call isn't quite ready for an official roll out, we have released a limited campaign for tomorrow's Senate hearing. THIS LINK will take you directly to the site for the Senate Hearing campaign. You'll note that it asks for personal information. This is necessary for your email to be delivered to the appropriate recipients. When you enter your information, the program will automatically determine your senators. You will have two senators listed (in addition to President Obama), and you might want to UNCHECK the senator who is NOT on the Committee. (If you allow the program to save your information, it should be automatically generated for you the next time you visit to participate in a campaign.) The email for the campaign has a beginning and end that aren't editable. The middle, however, is for you to add your story. Remember . . . this is very much a beta campaign, so forgive (and report) any glitches and offer feedback. Due to time constraints, we're sending this email to the entire membership (with our apologies to those who do not live in one of the above states). If you are from another state and you participate in the campaign, the email will simply go to your state senators (neither of whom are on the committee). II. Please call your senator on the committee (contact information contained in Part III below) and use the following as a guide for talking points (essentially, the email you will send via CQ Roll Call): I need your help in making sure that my interests as a consumer are represented at the May 15th, 2014 hearing regarding e-cigarettes before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. The only two witnesses who will be testifying at the hearing are Tim McAfee, Director of the CDC's Office on Smoking and Health, and Mitch Zeller, Director of FDA's Center for Tobacco Products. CDC and FDA have made it clear that they are intent on reducing the availability, quality, and use of e-cigarettes. Please ask the CDC and FDA-- Why are they supporting regulations that would completely destroy the diversity in the marketplace that make e-cigarettes such an incredibly effective alternative to smoking and hand over the remnants to the large tobacco companies? Why are they misleading the public about the potential hazards of e-cigarettes and, in so doing, actively discouraging smokers from using these potentially life-saving products? Why do they consider tobacco companies, industry, and e-cigarette opponents to be "stakeholders," but completely ignore the voice of the single most important stakeholder--the consumers who use (or may use in the future) e-cigarettes as a low-risk alternative to smoking? III. Below are phone numbers for senators. Find yours and take a minute to make the call requested in Part II above. Senator Tom Harkin, IA Phone: 202-224-3254 Barbara Mikulski, MD Ph. 244-4654 Pat Murray, WA Ph. 202-224-2621 Bernard Sanders, VT Ph. 202-224-5141 Robert P. 20. I was just about to post this as well, glad someone else got on it. I did my part already, super quick and easy to do.... EVERYONE in one of these states should be doing this if you TRULY love vaping and aren't just here for the cloud chasing fad!

  25. Everyone seems to be on an Aspire kick lol. For me, if it does not use KPT single coils I do not want it. No way I am doubling my coil expense when in my opinion single coils perform as good if not better.

  26. I have two of them, and I do, but it doesn't substitute for time. Understand that Aging and Steeping are different things. What is called "Steeping" is actually aging. and that will not happen in a Sonic steep. Over time it will change color and add depth to the juice. Sonic steeping only helps the flavor infuse with the PG/VG. This yes will help it taste better, but is not a substitute for true Aging or true Steeping.

  27. Welcome to the forum! Like Bebop said, your set-up is fine for starters, but as you learn more, you'll want to upgrade to higher mAh (longer lasting) batteries or battery MODs, and you'll definitely want to experiment with tanks. What you're using right now is fine, and many people use the disposable Ce4 tanks (which is what you have) and pen-style batteries as a daily-use set-up. Be aware that any plastic tank will likely crack and leak if you vape citrus or cinnamon flavors. The mini ProTank 2 (BCC - bottom single coil) or mini ProTank 3 (BDC - bottom dual coil) are nearly the same diameter of the battery you're using, utilize Pyrex tanks (no cracks from e-juice, but will break if you drop them), and look (and function) quite well. I use the PT2 and PT3 minis on my eGo-T batteries when I'm out-and-about because they're portable! If you don't want something that "looks" like a "tank", the Kanger EVOD (plastic) has a metal shield over the tank and are replaceable single-coil design. The EVOD2 comes in glass or plastic and is dual-coil... both will work fine on your eGo pen-style batteries. As for batteries, pressing the eGo-T 5 times turns it on or off, not adjust the voltage. Those that are variable voltage (VV) have a ring at the bottom that twists to adjust voltage. You'll also want to pick up a few spare batteries (at least ONE), as they tend to take several hours to charge and always go dead at the most inopportune moments I would suggest picking up a couple of the twist models as Bebop listed, or at least a couple of the 1000 or 1100 mAh batteries to rotate out ... you'll be glad you did. There are larger batteries out there, which will last for a day or three between charges, and offer variable voltage and/or wattage, but as a "noob", you'll probably not want to invest in those just yet Flavors... you'll have to experiment, and as your taste-buds improve, you'll find some flavors are likeable again, and some you like are no longer palatable. I still like my cigar flavors, but have been mixing them with Vanilla, black cherry, apple, chocolate, etc. to get different tastes... mostly because I just can't stand "plain fruit", lol. The 24mg you've been using is strong, like a full-flavor analog, but is probably close to the same level of nicotine you're use to... Some flavors/brands may taste better to you in different MG levels, so yeah, you'll have to experiment to find what works for you....

  28. I've had this issue with Aerotanks also, But not just on my SVD. One fix I've done is to pull the base off and take the coil out. Make sure the bottom pin on the coil is not compressing the silicone insert. With a small tool push the bases pin from the inside out a bit so the Aero base bottom pin will extend out further than normal. Installing the coil as fast as you can back into the base before the pin goes back to its normal flush position is the goal. These directions aren't the clearest, but if you can decipher them it may work for you. Basically what I described is how to make the tanks center pin extend further than normal.

  29. Not a bad setup especially if it's not a knock-off. You can do better than the MT. Your juice is fairly strong at 24 If you wanted to upgrade go to a variable Voltage battery - Ego Twist, Vision Spinner, or Evod Twist. For a tank I would go with the Protank 2, or the Anyvape Davide That being said, finding a good juice gives you the most bang for the buck and is where u should start. You're going to have to experiment

  30. Incredibly fast shipping... He shipped it out Monday at 7:22pm, and I received the replacement in the mail this morning (Wednesday). I shipped out the defective one Tuesday morning, and it's not even left the state yet.... I opened the package, and the tank and base are perfect... and the function of the AeroBase is really nice, being able to adjust the air-flow really changes the draw, flavor, and vapor more than I expected... Now to play with it! Even after returning the defective unit, I still saved ~$12 over the local B&M retailer, so I'll not be complaining about the price or having to wait a couple extra days... It's not like I was in desperate need of a tank, lol
