  1. So today my life was changed. I happened to get really really lucky, and not in the naughty kinda way, it's better! It was definitely fate, but I crossed paths with a genuine DNA 30. After Tam and Compenstine answered my very noob questions, and I got my first order of really good juice from Fadora, I was ready for a better vape. I was sent a dripper by a buddy, and built some coils that didn't produce much on the MVP because the ohms were too low for the current. I knew more mods were coming but that I decided sooner rather than later. I was watching Proteus' build threads, I grew up in a machine shop. I decided to PM him and ask if he had any cheap beginners mods laying around. He didn't but did have a DNA 30 that wasn't for sale but might be later. I thought "yeah right I can't afford that." But I happened to mention it to my girlfriend who knew about the upcoming clones, and we discussed ohms law and Evolv while waiting at school at midnight for our daughters field trip to return. Well being the amazing woman she is, here's my birthday present The vape is truly unbelievable. Flavors I didn't even like before are delicious and I'm still in my 2 ohm dual coil build I built for the DNA last night. And Proteus, the pictures didn't do this mod justice. I was speechless, it's "rub across my face to feel the texture" kind of beautiful. It fits my hand like a glove! It's so tiny but the battery lasts soooo long even at 2 ohms and 16 watts. Thank you man. And thanks to all of you for answering my questions, and also to the member who replied about helping my friend out who needs some starting supplies. I gave him my only Ego battery and can't part with my only backup device just yet, in case of catastrophe.

  9. I think you have to get to know a new juice. Start low and work up to see if it improves the flavor or vapor to your likeing. Same thing with a new tank. I personally like some adjustment, but so far only in the spinner/twist/vvv3 range. But I do like some play when it comes down to it.

  12. Don't dry burn the wicks and don't remove the wicks unless you intend to rebuild. If you do intend to rebuild the heads do your research so you know what you are doing before tearing your heads apart. Take the heads out of the base of the tank and rinse them under some warm water. Then rinse the rest of tank out and blot dry with a paper towel. I like to take the heads and place them inside of a paper towel and blow through the top tube to try and get the paper towel to pull a bit of the water out of the wicks. Once this is done, reinstall the heads into the tank base and you're good to go. It will take a few draws to get the e liquid back into the wicks. Some people like to do a few quick fires to try and burn off the water prior to putting the tank back together and filling it up with juice.

  13. Woohoo! Got word that our last order of dna30's shipped from evolv, I should have my four sometime next week. Ordered more parts for future builds. Dual 18650 battery holders (back ordered!) more enclosures, fire buttons and batteries! Should have a box of goodies at home from UPS today.

  22. Yes, VV overrides the auto voltage settings that VW would give you but if you set the Wattage then go to VV you then keep the wattage setting and overide the voltage at what wattage you set first.

    Ms. T's Bakery?

Are you sure it's a sensitivity to PG? Since you're just starting out, it very well could be your body detoxing itself of all the other chemicals you were getting from analogs. It could also be that you're getting too much nic from too high a nic level in your juice or vaping too much. It could also be that you're not drinking enough water because vaping will dehydrate your body. Not coffee, tea, soda/pop, juice...just plain old water.

  26. Basically when in VW mode it will set the voltage for you. When in VV mode you can up your voltage overriding the VW auto setting. I run VW at 15 watts that is my "Sweet Spot"

  27. So I picked up an MVP v2 and wow I'm loving it. I know that it's not a huge upgrade from my EGO Twist but man it's tasting a lot better. I broke down and filled my aerotank like 40% full of my Adam Bomb Strawberry Lemonade that has been steeping for about 5 days and yeah there's a huge difference. Also the MVP has VV and VW, I'm not sure what the point of having both is, could somebody enlighten me a bit on that?

    Ms. T's Bakery?

It is very sad. I have discovered a bit of a PG sensitivity, so anything over 50/50 makes me feel awful. Headache, nausea...just yuck. I spend entirely too much time trying to figure out exactly what everyone is talking about with these different tanks and mods and coils and such! Good grief, you all speak a completely different language! There are so many abbreviations that I can't figure it out! At this point, I am pretty sure that I need a chart so I can keep straight which juice to vape in which tank at what voltage...LOL. Anyone want to help me with my chart?!!?

Ordered up some goodies so ill be chasing the mail man as much as my dog. Ordered up some pg, vg, kanthal (100ft 32g and 100ft 30g), 1.5mm 2.5mm and 3mm (foot of each) ekowool braided silica wicks. going to start with rebuilding kanger coil heads and prolly move on to bigger better things. got plenty of material to experiment (screw up..lol) with so I should be covered for a while.

  45. Formaldehyde (CH2O) is produced naturally in the atmosphere (90% of all atmostpheric Formaldehyde occurs naturally), and is a by-product of dozens of combustion and chemical processes. Humans metabolize formaldehyde quickly, so it does not accumulate, and is converted to formic acid in the body. (Yes, I am a chemist/biologist/physicist, with medical background, although I work in IT now ) So, yes, burning nearly any substance which contains Carbon "can" produce Formaldehyde, but the levels produced (by smoking, breathing smog, vaping, standing too close to a car's exhaust, etc.) are quickly converted by the body into Formic Acid and eliminated. This is what I cannot stand about all these "Gloom and Doom" research papers (which are bought and paid for by special interest groups and gov't nannies).... Your drinking water contains "traces" of substances which will kill you dead if you ingest enough of it... for that matter, if I float somebody in a lake for a couple of weeks the volume of water absorbed by the skin would be enough to kill them, and not by drowning... Remember... LIVING is the slowest method of DYING! I rate a lot of these so-called research studies right up there with agenda-pushing "science" like Global Warming... PURE BS flooding the world to promote "false evils" so that someone (usually the Gov't) can step in and regulate/tax something and generate revenue in the name of Public Safety! The gov't will not rest until they can regulate/tax vaping like they do the other "Sins" such as Tobacco and Alcohol. Let's face it... the gov't wants you to quit smoking "for your health", which is why every time another percentage of the population QUITS smoking, the taxes on a pack of analogs goes UP! They're losing their revenue-base on tobacco products, so taxing vaping as a SIN-ITEM is a logical step to feed the coffers of gov't... BTW, a pack of Marlboro's costs Philip Morris about 40-cents to make... tack on even 100% mark-up, and there's still $4 in TAXES! Think about it... the gov't taxes cigarettes 1000% over the manufacturing costs! Now you see why all these so-called reports on vaping are coming out... rally the low-info sheeple with junk-science and propaganda, make vaping appear unhealthy and gross, regulate it to the point of cigarettes, and then tax the crap out of them. The gov't wants to get their hands on billions of dollars in new taxes from the vaping industry! The gov't doesn't care about your health, they only want your money! Oh, and BTW, there is more Formaldehyde (PPM) in the construction materials used to build a FEMA trailer than you'll ever produce by "personal vaping".... How's that for irony?

    MVP 2 settings

First things first, with your tank/cartomizer you want to snug it down where it makes a connection, "finger snug". A lot of clearomizers with long center pins can screw on to the threads too far if you go past the snug fit. Pressing both buttons on the LCD will display the resistance and battery capacity. So when you are attaching a clearomizer or tank, once it connects snug you can press both buttons and see if it shows an ohm number. If it says "NON" that means it's not contacting the firing pin unless its a short somewhere. If you get a resistance reading back, try and take a vape and if it fires it's good to go. The biggest thing is, there's two modes, they are seperate. You can set voltage OR wattage, not both. Start running wattage mode (P for Power on the button label, it's the top button on the LCD. There's tons of bad advice where people are instructing users to set both, which is impossible. If you set Power, and then you press the "V" button for volts, it discards whatever P you just set, and vice versa. Set the (P) which is power to 7.5 and start vaping. Once you've vaped a lil bit, enough to warm up your tank and get it wicking, bump it up .5 at a time, and when you start to get the hint of a burnt taste back it down a click. The lower the ohm rating, the lower your power needs to be. If you build your own coils start around 1.8 to 2 ohms, and you'll probably crank the power up quite a bit. With my protank it tends to burn at higher watts than my aspire tank with BDC. My protank is a protank 2. When you set the (P) it's going to regulate the power for you. It caclulates the resistance in your clearomizer/cartomizer and decides how much voltage to send from the battery so that you get that wattage. When you set voltage, you're telling it not to do the math for you, to try and stay at exactly that voltage instead of adjusting it for the power output to stay the same. If you build your own coils, start out around 2 ohms, 1.8 something like that. When the ohms get really low the MVP battery just can't put out the power it needs, you'll get a better vape with a higher ohm, at least that's my experience. If 1.8 works well you can try lower next build and find the sweet spot. With pre-bought coils personally I like 1.8 ohm but 2.2 works almost as good so if you have a bunch of 2.2 coil units from kanger or aspire or something, you can use them just fine. PBusardo has a great review

    Steeping questions

Thanks a bunch guys! I saw another vid where a guy did steeping in a dark closet but he said not to leave the cap off for more than 24 hours and then steep with the cap on for a week. I thought that was bogus and just can't wait a week. I will try putting them in a bag with this method. I'm expecting some vape mail in the next day or so. I checked out Comp's site earlier today. Looks cool and I will definitely be ordering from him. I can't wait to try some of his Apple cider after all I've read about it.
