  1. Jazzfest was a blast! Great to visit family and old friends, This year it was special, Since my neice moved out of the house (been in our family since 1909) i was able to sleep in the same bedroom my Dad slept in when he was a kid! Of course i drank way too much( one of the benefits of coming down from altitude) and enjoyed some great music (the best is in the bars after the festival closes at night) and I glutened myself big time eating all the food I could stuff down my big mouth!! The honeysuckle is booming this year and I can still smell it, and thinking Fadora should mix me up a batch of honeysuckle juice! But had to fly home this morning, and sitting at DIA waiting for the wife to come pick me up, and back at work at 11. There are only three true cities in the US...San Francisco, New York, and NOLA...everywhere else is just like everywhere else. I've been blessed to live in two out of three....the only thing keeping me from moving back is this blasted ring on my finger!!

  2. Just bought myself an early birthday present, even though it's a whole month away. Put in an order for a Satin Brass King Mod by Infinite, and a SS Kraken by HCigar. http://www.vaperoyalty.com/infinite-king-mod-satin-brass/ I feel a little guilty, as I have gone over my vaping budget, but I swear, I swear this will be my last purchase for at least a month.

  3. Someone told me that I am not "experienced" enough to do a build with 24g Kanthal. Hmmm. this is my parallel 24 g for my hubby. .21 ohms and he loves it! My rule is if I build it I vape it first. I disagree with those who have no faith in me. I may not have a lot of experience but I do have apps and websites and the experience of others. I never ever go below a .2 build---if I do I toss it. My husband cross checks my builds on his ohm reader ( double check to be safe) and then goes to some website to check the build against both types of batteries we use. This build had him telling me "You are the BEST. BEST. WIFE. EVER."

  5. Ummmm ....... tie a string to it ........... tie it to a large helium balloon and have it follow you around .....tape it to your hand .............. buy a set of jacks, drill a hole in the little red ball and put your tank in ....... don't drop it ........... if glass hits something hard it usually always breaks. If you're going to drop it, make sure you're over carpet - thick carpet. Oh yeah ..., welcome to VT. Just havin a bit of fun with ya.

    Kanger Heads

Joshua, Kevin was a little confused about the damaged part. The area that seems to be causing the issue is the insulator, the same thing that you sent the link for a replacement for. They get a little tiny puncture or nick in them and then leak. I will try to figure out a way to post a pic of one of the damaged ones once I get home. Thanks again guys!

  8. Good topic here guys! I am relatively new to the vape game and have been enthralled since about a month ago when I got into it. As of right now I have been all VV/VW but I just picked up a Stainless Stingray Clone by Infinite off of ebay for quite a steal. I should have it in a few days and once I give it a try I will post a review. As far as RDAs go I started with a Trident clone and then picked up a Fatty V3 to mess around with single coil builds. I also have a Kayfun 3.1 clone on the way as well as a Quasar clone. So, its safe to say that I am ok with the clones. I just simply cannot afford to get into the real deal stuff until I figure out exactly what I like. My only recommendation on RDA's would be to get one with holes in the posts such as a Patriot like Joshua recommended. They are MUCH easier to start building on as its much easier to thread your leads through the holes rather than wrapping them around the posts like on the Fatty V3. Trident is also not a bad RDA to start on as it has slots at the top of the posts and can make it easier to experiment with different wire gauges, and types such as flat ribbon. Regarding the mod clones I have done a good bit of research and found that the Nemesis is definitely one of the better ones out there. Many reviews of it stating that it is as good as the real deal. As stated earlier I will post a small review of the Stingray once I get it and give it a good test run. Also, I cannot stress enough #6 up there that Joshua posted. Definitely research the heck out of battery safety. The Sony 18650 30 amps seem to be what a lot of guys are using and it is a safe battery. However, look into how to do it correctly and safely and what the warning signs are so that you know what you are doing before you get into trouble. The last thing you want to do is damage the device you just spend hard earned cash on, or even worse damage yourself.

  10. Josh, will do. I can make a post once my husband gets up and tells me all of the stuff he uses. For android users, there's the Vapers Toolbox. I checked out ivape for iOS and I didn't like it (couldn't plug in 24g Kanthal, which is what I like using)

  11. Your walking cane might be held up because it came from the Ukraine and the unrest going on over there right now. I've ordered from Health Cabin before and they were pretty quick (for China) to get the parts to me. Since it's a part for an atomizer it shouldn't be held up. I'd give it a try.

    First KFL+ coil

If you like the way the kfl works, thats great. But there really isn't much need to sub-ohm it. If its big vapor you're after, then the kfl won't get you there. Its more of a device to build exceptional coils for getting the most flavor. You won't need subohms for flavor.

  38. Thanks. I wanted to throw a brass drip tip on it, but then I was reading about the Chinese manufacturers adding lead to their brass, and how it can be harmful to vape with. The brass and SS on both the Stingray and Kraken compliment each other wonderfully. I especially like how they are both topped and bottomed with the SS. It creates a seamless transition from the mod to the tank. Sexxxy.

  43. Well, the debate between "authentic" & "clones" will rage on forever. I have a few authentic RDAs and mods, as well as clones. When it comes to the individual designs, there is no "best". Only whats best for you. Each design has its own pro's & con's. As far as the difference between auth and clones, well, the authentics are gonna have better build quslity and probably superior metals. With that said, I have found some clone RDAs to be a good investment. If you are looking into building your own coils and getting into mechanical mods, here's a few things you'll need: 1. A good understsnding of Ohm's Law 2. An even better understanding of battery safety. 3. An ohms checker/reader 4. Coil building knowledge 5. A mod of your choice ( auth or clone ) 6. A couple "good" batteries. ( A good majority of us that use mechs use Sony vtc4's, vtc5's, or MNKE's) Many of us on this forum that use mechanical mods are EXTREMELY safety oriented, so if you get pointed questions or perhaps a sharp rebuke, its because we are passionate about vaping and this lifestyle. We don't wanna see anyone's face on the 6 o'clock news because a new person to mechanical mods blew their face off. Alway Vape Safe Hope this helps For what its worth, I'd get the copper Nemesis clone and a 22mm Patriot clone. They are good to start out with and the larger deck of the Patriot atomizer is easy to build coils on

  44. My son was 3 when I made the switch. For too long he was complaining about not being able to come in the kitchen with me because I was smoking. He would say "I know mommy, I can't sit on your lap because you're having a bad cigarette". Now I don't have to worry about finishing my cigarette when my son wants my attention. I just put my ecig down. I don't run out of breath as easily while playing and I never need a cigarette break or have to worry if I'm blowing a cloud of chemicals in my poor kid's face. Of all the reasons I love vaping, my son is the best reason.

  46. Article reposted here for the convience of our members. Benefits of Nicotine: Why Non-Smokers Are Turning to E-Cigs Many people have discussed the advantages of smoking e-cigs versus traditional tobacco cigarettes, and those benefits are numerous, but what about people who are non-smokers? There are reasons for people to consider the clean form of nicotine found in e-cigs. Don’t believe it? Consider these four benefits to nicotine use. ■Nicotine For Better Attention Span Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is frequently spoken about in terms of how it affects young children, but there are many adults that also find it hard to focus on a task due to wandering thoughts and a tendency to be easily distracted. Did you know that nicotine might be a solution? There have been studies performed in the United States and abroad that suggest regular use of nicotine can provide improved attention span. It is thought that this occurs because there is an enhanced activity level in certain regions of the brain shortly after nicotine enters the system. This translates to enhanced visual attention and motor skills. In order to prove the correlation, researchers assembled a group of smokers and gave half transdermal nicotine patches, while the other half received placebo patches. Those receiving the nicotine showed better performance on an attention-based skills assessment. It is also thought that the nicotine found in e-liquid could assist the brain in focusing energies into the needed regions, while slowing activity in other areas of the brain, which would reduce the likelihood of being easily distracted. ■Nicotine for Long Term Memory How many times have you completely forgotten about something you did several years ago, despite friends or family members assuring you that it happened? Long term memory loss is a natural part of aging, but when it begins to fail us at too young of an age, it can be very troubling. Furthermore, the ability to draw on past events and experiences can drastically improve work performance. For that reason, researchers were curious about how nicotine – like that found in e-liquids – would impact this brain function. As such, a team of Vanderbilt University researchers set out to measure such. Again, they used nicotine patches for half of the participants and placebo patches for the other half and remarked that there were notable differences in memory performance for those who received the nicotine. As for the placebo group, their performance showed regression between testing periods – trial ran for approximately six months — if any change at all, which suggests that nicotine could be a significant help to those who suffer from memory loss. Why? Well, the scientists believe that it stimulates nerve cell receptors in the brain. ■Nicotine As a Treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease Seeing that there was improvement in the memory and attention span of average people, a group from Georgetown University reasoned that Alzheimer’s patients could benefit as well. Over a course of six months, a group patients diagnosed with MCI, Mild Cognitive Impairment (a precursor to Alzheimer’s Disease) were assessed. Nicotine patches delivered regular doses, of increasing concentrations, to the patients and it was discovered that those receiving the drug demonstrated nearly fifty percent improvement over the short span of the test. Meanwhile, those in the placebo group showed steady decline of as much as 26%. This study shows great promise for Alzheimer’s patients and their loved ones. The progressive illness can quickly ruin quality of life for those suffering and make it very difficult for loved ones who are forced to act as caregivers. ■Nicotine for Decreased Chance of Diabetes and Obesity We’ve all heard the old adage that states smokers will gain, on average, ten pounds or more upon quitting their bad habit. Of course, the risk of a little weight gain is hardly comparable to the myriad of illnesses and side effects that come with continued cigarette use. Because there are those who really need to lose weight for the sake of their health, some are turning to nicotine in e-liquid form. The nicotine activates nerve cells in the hypothalamus causing the release of a hormone known as proopiomelanocortin (or POMC). It’s a big word that hardly has to be memorized, but the important part of the message is that, in releasing the hormone, it causes a massive reduction in hunger. That is to say, nicotine is an appetite-blocker. Thus, when a person quits smoking, he or she will likely see the aforementioned weight gain, but when nicotine is first introduced to a non-tobacco user, there is likely to see a quick drop in rate. While nicotine is hardly recommended as a weight loss supplement, there is some advantage to using the zero-nicotine e-liquid. The flavor liquids produced and used in e-liquid are really loved by e-cig users and it is possible to get the flavored e-liquid without the nicotine. There are a few advantages; the taste buds are satisfied, the brain is occupied with something other than food during breaks, and the lack of nicotine means that there is no risk of addiction. With these points made, it is easy to understand why e-cigs and e-liquids are being embraced by a growing segment of the population. It could just be that the clean nicotine found in e-liquid is the answer to many difficult medical question.
