I know what you mean. I've wanted a DNA mod for a while and I think I'll be happy at 30w. Besides, the ones Comp is making will be only 5 of a kind. Something about antique Mohagany with brass accents just really intrigues me. It'll be a while before he can make em, but I'm already excited! I feel like a little kid again! Lol1 point -
Teens being tempted into smoking analogs by using e-cigs?
joejoevapekins reacted to sherylanne for a topic
This is just down right idiotically stupid and should make no sense to the average person. Why would a teenager switch from vaping a Strawberry Shortcake, Bavarian Cream, Cinnamon Danish, (you name the flavor) e-cig to smoking a nasty tobacco, poison filled, stinky, cough your head off cigarette? Oh yeah, that's what I would do if I were just starting out...... Makes absolutely no sense.1 point -
Does steeping ever cause increased throat hit?
Joshuab3687 reacted to tea2085 for a topic
This is 50/50 which is generally very smooth for me. I don't really care for "throat hit" If I wanted my throat hit, my wife would be more than glad to oblige me!! Paul1 point -

That would be more due to dehydration than anything else. Had the same thing and it didnt go away until I started drinking more fluids. Sorry, alcohol doesnt count (though I wish it would). Drink plenty of fluids while vaping, it does dehydrate you pretty quickly.1 point

Headache
Mtdobies reacted to HeatFanatic6 for a topic
Also, could it be the flavor? Because I used to vape all kinds of flavors and I enjoyed them. Then I tried fireball which is cinnamon and every other flavor after that tasted awful. So I've been vaping cinnamon for about 2 months straight now. Any suggestions?1 point -

How many times did you try to quit smoking when you weren't really ready nor did you really want to? I know I did dozens of times. I knew I should quit so I'd tried but always went back to smoking. Only when he's really ready and wants to for the right (for him) reasons, will he stop looking to find roadblocks. He knows you vape. He knows you'll be there to help when he wants it. Now, you need to stop saying anything more to him and just let him see how it's helping you without you saying anything more. Answer his questions if he has them but nothing more. If you say more he'll see it as you pushing him into vaping. How many times have you told a kid not to do something and they rush off to do just that? Same principle. It's hard to keep patience and harder yet not to say anything when you're living proof that it works, that it will help you feel better. Good luck to you! I hope he comes around sooner rather than later.1 point

Congrats! And things like this is why Big Pharma and Big Tobacco are trying to get e-cigs off the market. Gotta love all the benefits to our health, huh?1 point

Thank you and congratulations! I've heard it time and time again how vapers are able to either lower their dosage or get off certain meds altogether after they've been vaping for awhile. My fingers are crossed that your cholesterol goes down as mine did. I've also heard of people not needing to take BP meds anymore so there's hope and incentive for you. Good luck! Oh, and that's wonderful news that you were able to lose 8 lbs! That's HUGE for a diabetic. Go you!1 point

you'll get there tam. It took all of us a little time to get the mech RDA thing to work for us. But once you get the hang of it I don't think. You will ever look back.1 point -

I'm with you, B. Despite the various mods I have, I still prefer my Vision Spinners most of the time. That may change once I get the hang of the RDAs, but somehow I just can't imagine it will.1 point -

Mtdobies reacted to Tagsanstuff for a topic
congrats to you on quitting smoking ..you will start feeling so much better soon. I noticed that when I would go places I could smell cig smoke out in front of stores..as x smokers, we did not notice the way cigs made us stink..but, now we do...( I was a 3 pk a day for 30 yrs smoker) I have been smoke free for almost 4 yrs and I am alive!! Congrats to you..stick with it..always have back up battery's, e-liquid and other supplies with you =)1 point -
I figured out if sitting by my wood stove I can stealth vape successfully, at my age I'm stealth vaping ... its crazy I know but someone doesn't like the clouds and smelling all the fruity stuff. (He's Not convinced yet that second hand vapor doesn't cause issues). last night my dog and I sat by the wood stove and it worked.. she loves the smell and I could Vape in peace... which was nice she used to smack my analog out of my hand, sneeze and grab my pack, run outside & shred them. Smart dogs were a pain! Now we are all happy!1 point

She loves it! She's a hypo alert dog, she sits next to me and sniffs wags her stub and smiles... got a nose that won't quit, her son chases the cloud and wiggles, its funny to watch.1 point

Question
Tam reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Could be crap liquid like the shops here carry too, not the mix or the nic.1 point -
Question
Tam reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
I would recommend 50-50 to start, maybe even 60vg-40pg. Just quitting he probably needs some throat hit but even with 60-70%VG the throat hit should be there at 24mg.1 point -
Question
Tam reacted to Compenstine for a topic
I would agree with Bcarter, 24mg should be what he should start with. Juice at 12mg will not give him what he wants from a E-Cig. I would like to have a talk with that doctor my self. He needs to get informed.1 point -
Question
Tam reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
No way he should start at less than 24mg imo. He is not going to be satisfied.1 point -
Cholesterol check!
Tam reacted to Crazyavonlady for a topic
Hubby and I took our blood pressure at home a week ago.... While my BP has ALWAYS been good, it was my resting heart rate that I've been worried about. Last time I took it on our machine, it was over 100. I was still a smoker. Last week, when we did it, my resting heart rate was.... (Drum roll please) 61! MAJOR freaking difference. Hubby's blood pressure (even on meds) has always been on the high side, and the time before he stopped smoking it was like in the 140s/90s, heart rate high like mine in the low 100s. Stop smoking, a month after he started vaping.... BP 119/79 heart rate 65. Absolutely NOTHING else changed. Our diet has remained consistent. Our lifestyles have remained the same EXCEPT the fact that we stopped smoking and started vaping. Take that, big tobacco and big pharm!1 point -
Teens being tempted into smoking analogs by using e-cigs?
Mtdobies reacted to Crazyavonlady for a topic
Teens, in my opinion, are more likely to grab a pack of cigarettes than an e-cig. They don't think about LONG TERM cost, just the RIGHT NOW cost. Period. When I was a teen, a $5-$7 pack of ciggs (sometimes cheaper with the cheaper brands) would totally override the $30 setup for an ecig. Even the ones you can buy in the gas statins, in my experience, are slightly more expensive than a pack of cigarettes. Teens need their money for other stuff, like shopping at the mall or buying stuff for their cars (or nowadays, diapers for their kids--I was a teen mom and I would buy diapers first and then cigarettes. Didn't have the extra cash to buy an ecig setup back then!)1 point -

We have 2 batteries now to change out regularly, expecting more this week. On top of that, we each have a regular egos and a vv model as well. My husband takes my ego, his ego, and his vv to work with his tanks full so he doesn't have to worry about battery life or spilling juice. I have my magneto and ego CTwist at home and for me on the go since I have both of our VCT4 batteries at home. Having backups, backups for your backups, AND extra batteries is something that I think should be a REQUIREMENT! Haha. Seriously, though, it's a good idea to have backups, extra batteries, and backups for your backups and backups for you batteries.1 point -
Tameiki that's great news! In 6 mos mines dropped 40 pts, I can't take statins either, or BP meds and as of yesterday my cadmium (heavy metal toxicity) levels are down to near nothing, and lost another 8 lbs (diabetics don't just lose weight) no more stinky crap for me. Isn't it amazing how vaping & good people supporting you makes a difference... Hugs!1 point

Cholesterol check!
Tam reacted to Joshuab3687 for a topic
I need to get in for a full workup. Just gotta find the time. My weight has dropped since I started vaping, so thats good. Before I started I was in the 240 lb range. Down to 220 now. If I can get down to 200, I'll be happy! When I was discharged from the Corps the first time (1998), I was 200lbs at 7% body fat. But after being recalled back to active service and then being medically retired, I can't run anymore, so trying to stay healthy has been a struggle. But now... I can breath much easier! Vaping has changed my life! And I'm happy to have friends like you that inspire me to continue improving my life!1 point -

Rebuilding coils need help
Crazyavonlady reacted to Compenstine for a topic
The only thing I would change in that is the wire size, 28ga will not work well in a KPT head because of the number of wraps it would take to achieve a 2.2 coil. The 28ga would require at least 10 wraps and it would then be to big for the opening. Using 30-32 would be best for starting out. Also before you even start make sure you have a multimeter to test ohms. Do not even consider sub ohm until you have been building coils for a few months and reading up on battery safety, this is a requirement not a suggestion.1 point
