  1. Some flavorings add coloring that is not added by the Juice maker. For example the Cherry flavorings I have, do have added coloring I didn't add. This is one of the main reasons why I stopped using Lorrans Flavorings. They add color to almost every flavoring they produce. I understand the concept so it looks like the flavor but it adds nothing to the flavor at all. I don't see any reason to add coloring to E-Liquids except for show and when it comes to E-Liquid is just not necessary.

    Jargon For Noobs

Sometime the vets on the forums tend to use terms and slag for some of the most common items, methods and hardware for vaping. This is not the ultimate guide but should make some of the terms a little clearer. (I hope)... Basic Jargon Vapor - Vapor is the substance exhaled when using an electronic cigarette which may look similar to cigarette smoke. Vaping - The act of using an Electronic Cigarette (as opposed to "smoking", as the device creates a vapor rather than smoke). Vape - Used often in place of the word smoke. I vape, I'm vaping. Batt - Battery. Atty - Electronic component that turns the eJuice into vapor. Cartridge or Cart - The part of a three piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled. Cartomizer or Carto - The part of a two piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled. Analog - Traditional tobacco cigarette. DIY - Do It Yourself. Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge. Drip Tip or DT - A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer. Mod - Modified (custom built) e-cigarette. TH - Throat Hit a strong feeling in the back of the throat when vaping. Primer Puff - A short, quick mouth inhale on the electronic cigarette similar to the action when smoking a pipe or cigar. This heats up the atomizer before a full draw. PV or Personal Vaporiser - An electronic cigarette. Some prefer to use this term as the word 'cigarette' has a lot of negative connotations associated with it that do not apply to PVs. PCC - Personal Charging Case / Portable Charger Case. Passthrough or PT - A USB adapter for the Electronic Cigarette which screws onto the atomizer like a battery, but draws power from a USB port. E-Liquid / E-Juice E-Liquid / E-Juice - A Flavored or unflavored liquid for use in an electronic cigarette, usually (but not always) containing nicotine. VG - Vegetable Glycerin PG - Propylene Glycol PEG - Propylethylene Glycol PGA - Pure Grain Alcohol NPG - Not containing Propylene Glycol. Sometimes used as a synonym to Vegetable Glycerin. Nic - Nicotine Cartridge Related Filler - The clump of fibers that hold the liquid in the cartridge. Stuffing - Another term for filler. BFM - Blue Foam Mod. (cart filler material) Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge. Dry Smoking - Same thing as dripping, referring to the fact that the cartridge us usually not filled, therefore dry. Tailpiping - Vaping directly from the atomizer without using a mouthpiece/cartridge. Drip Tip or DT A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer. Topping Up/Off - To add a few drops of liquid to a partially used cartridge to prolong its use. Measurements LR - Low Resistance HV - High Voltage (typically a 5 or 6 volt ecigarette) IMR - A battery with lower internal resistance and a high discharge rate, good for high drain applications like ecigarettes. in - inch (also abbreviated ") (1 inch = 25.4 mm) mm - millimeter (1 mm = 0.039 inch) cm - centimeter (1 cm = 0.394 inch) oz - ounce (1 fluid oz = 29.5 ml) ml - milliliter (1 ml = 0.034 fluid ounce) cc - cubic centimeter (1 cc = 1 ml) mg - milligram (often used as measure of nicotine per ml of eliquid) mA - milliamp (often used as a measure of available power) mAh - milliamp hour (often used as a measure of battery capacity/duration Forum Phrases PM - Private Message Troll - Somebody who makes a statement with the intention of annoying or angering other posters. This person usually ends up banned.

  6. moderators,i've posted this in the new user section in all the 4 forums i'm regestered at. please feel free to modify, remove,or move to a different forum topic as you feel necassary. hi all, well there i went again. having recently recieved emails for free starter kits i went and ordered 3.the sight i went to had 4 or 5 offers from different compinies and said these are free kits, just pay the shipping. guess what. wait for it. scams all of them. liftvapor. ecigsbrand.com. ecigcustomerservice.com what they do is bill your card monthly for unwanted supplies after yor trail period. thets right trail. what happened to the free starter kits. there not free. i got the first kit today from liftvapors.i had an issue with the charger, the batts would'nt screw into it.wrong or damaged threading. so i googled liftvapor and along with all the results were buku complaints. well i researched it some more and contacted my states attorny generals office and developed a stratigy. seeing i had allready opened and used liftvapors kit before i found out it was'nt free but a trail the policy is i must get a return number from them and return the product unused. to void the agreement. how can this be done? it cant. because to meet your obligation to they're agreement you have to use the product first. so i will contact them and request a shipping lable from the're shipper of choice and i'll repack it and send it back. i'm only out my shipping charge. otherwise i will consider this product mine. minnesota has laws concerning hold harmless contracts. i'll contact the other two and make them the same offer. if you do cancel there auto billing the charge you full retail on what you got. which i figure to 200% of retail from the overpriced ecigalike sites. i will keep every one informed as i go through this ordeal. regards mike

  11. Boba's isn't really a dark colored juice. As a matter of fact, I have trouble telling the difference between it and my cinnamon. Some juices are dark just by the nature of the flavoring in them. Also, I think another good indicator is if when you get it, it's fairly light colored, and the darker color only comes into play after it's steeped for a bit.

    Glad to be here

Hello, I started vaping as a way to quit the habit that after 36 years has left me with "the lungs of an 80 year old man", as my doctor put it. Fortunately I have (so far) avoided the big C. However, COPD (chronic bronchitis) has (had, i hope) me to the point that any type of resipatory infection, flu, cold or even excessive dust can send me into coughing fits or in the worst cases, into the hospital. On my best days, I would hack up phlem 10 -15 times a day. On normal days, I would lay down for the night and literally gurgle, not gargle (that thing you do with mouthwash) but gurgle (like a quiet bubbling) while I was trying to breathe. My wife (a geriatric nurse) calls it a "death rattle", something her patients do (the ones who smoke) right before they, you know.. Basically, I was in a constant state of near pneumonia. I tried everything else to quit: Cold Turkey - OMG no.. and my closest fix is in every convenience store, everywhere. Patches - crazy, wild dreams. I mean... 15 ft killer blood sucking butterfly crazy dreams, ok? Gum - well, maybe it tastes better now but back then? Why would they try to make it taste that way? I guess so kids wouldn't chew it. Yeah, well... Adults either IMO. Wellbutrin - This turned me into a cry-baby basket case. Emphasis on BASKET case. Chantix - see "Wellbutrin" and multiply by 5. Only a matter of time before I hurt myself or others. Scary thing is you can't just stop taking it..you have to be stepped down. I tried switching to the "cigarette type" ecigs some time ago. While I'm sure that it's a fine product for some, for me it was inconsistent in vapor production, taste, and throat hit. (which I've read is caused by the level of nic). Oh it was convenient, small, compact, easy to use. It was just that something was up with their quality control. So, it was a short time before I was back to two packs a day. I've been vaping a solid 20 days now on Kanger T3s tanks and Ego CTwist 900 mah bats. I don't see myself going back to analogs anytime soon either. I guess the difference is that if I don't get enough vapor or the taste goes bad then I can actually tear the tank down, find out whats wrong, fix it and keep on vaping. Something I couldn't do with the self contained, prefilled cartridges from before. It's fun to fiddle with the device. I can see myself eventually building my own mods, wrapping my own coils, etc.. I'm having a ball with experimentation, learning how it works, and what works best for me. And the best part, after 20 days I don't gurgle in my sleep and I don't cough up crap as often. This is a good hobby.

  14. While I love the mojito flavor from a local B&M, the owner/mixer uses food coloring in his juices so I have him custom make mine without. If it doesn't need to be there I'd rather not have it.

  15. http://www.ccohs.ca/headlines/text186.html Titanium dioxide has recently been classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as an IARC Group 2B carcinogen''possiblycarcinogentohumans''. Titanium dioxide accounts for 70% of the total production volume ofpigments worldwide. It is widely used to provide whiteness and opacityto products such as paints, plastics, papers, inks, foods, andtoothpastes.Itis also used in cosmetic and skin care products, and it is present in almost every sunblock, where it helps protect the skin from ultraviolet light. With such widespread use of titanium dioxide, it is important to understand that the IARC conclusions are based on very specific evidence. This evidence showed that high concentrations of pigment-grade (powdered) and ultrafine titanium dioxide dust caused respiratory tract cancer in rats exposed by inhalation and intratrachealinstillation*.The series of biological events or steps that produce the rat lung cancers(e.g. particle deposition, impaired lung clearance, cell injury, fibrosis, mutations andultimatelycancer)have also beenseen inpeople working in dusty environments. Therefore, the observationsof cancerinanimalswere considered, by IARC, as relevant to people doing jobs with exposures to titanium dioxide dust. For example, titanium dioxide production workers may be exposed to high dust concentrations during packing, milling, site cleaning and maintenance, ifthere are insufficientdust controlmeasures inplace. However, it should be notedthat the humanstudies conducted so fardonot suggestan association between occupational exposure to titanium dioxide and an increased risk for cancer. The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is Canada'shazard communication standard. The WHMIS Controlled ProductsRegulations require that chemicals, listed in Group 1 or Group 2 in the IARC Monographsonthe Evaluationofthe Carcinogenic Risk of Chemicals to Humans, be classified under WHMIS Class D2A (carcinogenic). The classification decision on titanium dioxide has been published on the IARC website and in a summary article published in The Lancet Representatives from Health Canada (National Office of WHMIS) recently consulted withthe Quebec CSST and CCOHS (the two main agencies providing WHMIS classifications to the public) regarding the implicationsofthe IARC decisiontothe WHMIS classificationoftitaniumdioxide. It was agreed that titanium dioxide does now meet the criteria for WHMIS D2A (carcinogen) based on the information released by IARC to date, and that it is not necessary to wait for release of the full monograph. Manufacturers and suppliers of titanium dioxide are advised to review and update their material safety data sheets and product labels based on this new information as soon as possible. Employers should review their occupationalhygieneprograms toensure that exposure totitaniumdioxide dust is eliminated or reduced to the minimum possible. Workersshould be educated concerning this potential newly recognized risk to their health and trained in proper work procedures.

Well it has been about 1 week vaping and this is the 4th day without smoke. Introduced by someone at work. We now have converted about 5 people here. As a mood it makes it more comfortable when others are doing it to. 49 years old been smoking since I was 16. Quit a few times with the longest being 2 years. I think this is a great alternative. My wife (non smoker) appreciates it also. No smell. No matter how much you bath and brush your teeth the smell was in my lungs. She said she was unable to lay close to my face without smelling it. Glad to be a part of this. Jimmy

  23. The question asked isn't what offends. It's the way that its asked. If you want to be a prick and denigrate the responses you recieved after the first couple of replies to your original post, and then make a condescending remark about pocket protector wearing vape pros, that is your right. However, it behooves me to tell you, good luck finding knowledgable people here that'll help you with that attitude and lack of respect. This'll be my last response to you. Good day to you.

  24. The so called "vape pros", have been vaping, most likely for a long time. They know that the only "REASON" that the e-juice even provides that "unicorn" throat hit that you're chasing, is caused by the Nic level, and the PG/VG ratio. This forum exists to provide a fun but educating place for the exchange of information, help, techniques, on just good old fashioned advice. I understand that you wanna just be told whats the best. But, there is NO BEST! Futhermore, you won't get much help here by slamming the people who offer said help. IMHO

  28. I'm not perfect and not all of my recommendations will work for you because vaping is a very personal thing. I only rec the things I've tried that worked for me. The rest is all about you and what works for you. Glad to know that the recs so far are doing well. Here's some recs for juices. Go check out EC Blends. You can get 5 ml bottles of juices for around $2.50 a bottle (prices go up as you add stuff). This way you can go a little nuts on flavors and try all different kinds to see what you like. Most need to sit (it's called steeping) for around 5 days or more depending on the juice. Some fruit flavors are good right out of the mail. They will get better with time, though. Start with 50PG/50VG to start. It's a good middle of the road until you're more experienced and figure out what you like. The nic is up to you but here's a rough estimate of mg to what you used to smoke. 24 mg nic = full flavor like Marlboro Reds 12 mg nic = lights 6 mg nic = ultra lights Good luck!

  33. I'd suggest getting a 1300 mAh Vision Spinner for the battery. This is a variable voltage so you get some play with it but it's simple for a beginner. Just start at the lowest setting and vape. If it's not good, doesn't seem to get much vapor, turn it up a little. Vape. Lather, rinse, repeat until it tastes a little burnt and then turn it down a bit. That should be your sweet spot for that juice. As for tanks, everyone will have their own favorites. Mine is an Anyvape Davide mini with a 1.8 ohm coil. The Kanger Pro Tank mini is pretty much the same thing, just a little easier to fill. The coils/heating elements in these are replaceable so you don't have to keep buying the whole tank every time. The coils run around a dollar or a little more each. Then, there's the e-liquid/juice. There are so many good vendors around. One of my favorites is EC Blends. They sell in bottles of 5 ml at around $2.50 each so you can try all kinds of different flavors (and they customize to your heart's content) without breaking the bank. Good luck!
