    Cotton Wicks

I've been reading about cotton wicks and seeing some friends who sub ohm mod, etc. so I'm wide awake tonight and frustrated with several burnt coils after only a day (think it might be a new juice I'm trying), so I do a little experiment tonight. I've never rebuilt a coil, and don't have the materials to do so. Well I took a Smok coil similar to a PT2 coil and got all of the wicking out completely, dry burned, rolled some cotton and it is awesome! I'm so excited about the way it wicks and draws now and the taste, that I think I may start rebuilding the coils. I never imagined that would EVER happen.

If you do start re/building coils, get your Kanthal here: http://www.temcoindustrialpower.com/search.html?t1=Kanthal A lot of times a 100 ft spool is cheaper than 10 ft from a vape shop. And its free shipping!

  4. I was just going to suggest the least amount of maintenance dripping method. The good old dependable atomizer. Kit's right, they're great. They're disposable so you take one out, use it for a week or more (however long it lasts), and then when it no longer works well you throw it away and start with a brand new one.

  5. Or....there are those of us that are still old school for dripping. less hassel all the way around. http://www.theveteranvaper.com/joye-306-atomizer/ http://www.theveteranvaper.com/306-extended-delrin-drip-tip/ use as is with drip tip or remove bridge and use with drip tip.....drip, vape, repeat

  11. They can word it how ever they but the number one reason the feds don't like ecig or juice is because it dose not have that tax stamp on it and they aren't making money off of us anymore. Well not as much. If they can't tax it or make money from it, the said product will be dubbed unsafe and the famous think of the children escape clause

    Cotton Wicks

Welcome to tge DARKSIDE Ugalady! Lol @Happy Vapor, there's a lot of back and forth on wether to boil or not. I do, but only to remove any weird taste from the cotton. I've been educated by a longtime member here ( iMedic ), that boiling it only pulles the impurities out of the cotton and into the top layer of water , that when you pull your cotton out, its going right thru the stuff again. As far as I'm concerned, its a taste thing. The way I look at it, is if there's anything in there that hasn't been rendered inactive after boiling 3 times, well, whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Lol

    Cotton Wicks

I love building my own coils. As a matter of fact I started using cotton wicks not all that long ago. The one thing you have to remember is to use untreated and unbleached cotton. If you don't then at least boil your cotton balls first. There is bleach and pesticides in cheap cotton balls. Boiling them works. I used to boil mine twice and then unroll them. From there I would place the cotton in front of a fan to air dry. I would boil a dozen at a time so I wouldn't have to do it often.

    who dubbed this term?

It has been around since I made the switch. Don't know how it started or who started it. I have been vaping for over 4 years. It was a term we used to distinguish a cigarette from the electronic version. Used as an adjective to contrast with digital. Think of a clock that uses hands to tell time vs. and digital displayed numbers.

  23. Wasn't really being hasty Will. Thats why I said "most people I've talked to". Not my experience. I prefer building my own. That way I have no one to blame for quality except me. Plus, when I mess up, it gives me a chance to get better. Wasn't trying to step on any reviewers toes. Lol

    Is Nicotine the killer?

Stress is the number one cause of constricted blood vessels, heart failure. Tar & other toxins build up & cause constrictions, yes. Studies show that eCigs (nicotine without the tar & crapiolie) do not constrict, & the veins remain flexible. Studies show that nicotine actually promotes healthy cells. Smoke kills cells, nicotine multiplies thriving cells. Studies show that nicotine restores brain damage, cognitive skills, focus, and relieves Alzheimer's, ADHD, Parkinson's, and more. Until lately, they were always baffled by the smokers paradox. Smokers survived when non smokers died. Today, they want to delete the nicotine from real cigarettes & are doing their darnedest to ban eCigs and I'm sure the NRT's will be next. They now KNOW it's the smoke & tar that kills, & nicotine is the beneficial life saving aspect. Most smokers who died from smoking related diseases were in their 70's & 80's. They lived 20 years LONGER than their age groups life expectancy. There is STILL no link between passive smoking and lung cancer. It's environmental & some even swear it's from the cancer laden vaccinations. Smoking is the scapegoat. Smoking is down, cancer is up. Nicotine is FDA approved.
