You don't need an RDA to direct drip. You can buy a simple atomizer, a drip tip, a drip shield (optional but recommended for convenience), and you're good to go. No need to learn how to build your own coils. I frequently recommend the atomizers shown in this link to people new to direct dripping. http://vapelite.info/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_47&products_id=62 The RDAs are much more advanced. With these you'll need to buy the wire, wick, an ohm meter, a small torch, etc. With the atomizer I recommended you just need that, some juice and you're good to go. You can replace the drip tip (mouth piece) to something else if you don't want what comes with the atomizer itself. iheartvape, you're trying to teach her how to fly an airplane before she's learned to ride a bicycle.4 points

the KPT2 is its own unit (heating element + liquid tank). atomizers are use for dripping....its basically a heating unit that you add a couple drops at a time (uses a drip tip), cartomizers are a heating element with a cotton fiber material that you add the liquid too. Honestly the KPT2 is much easier to use than cartomizers. dripping is its own way of doing things. personally, I love dripping for flavor and throat hit, its my sweet spot. that being said, its more work than using the KPT2. I love my tanks for when I am out and about. not sure if that answers your question, if not keep asking.2 points

Have E-Cigs helped you quit smoking?

I got a 510 kit in March 2010 never intending to quit smoking altogether. It was only to get me through a work day where I couldn't smoke for 9 - 10 hours. Despite my original intent I no longer felt a need to smoke and haven't since then. Almost 4 years.2 points -

If you want more throat hit you don't want more VG. More VG = smoother vape, more vapor, thicker juice (this will clog coils faster) More PG = thinner juice, more throat hit, better flavor delivery Also, more nicotine = harsher throat hit I tend to stick with a 50/50 blend even though I've tried all the different variations, this is the one I come back to every time. We all switch flavors throughout the day. As you've noticed, if you vape one flavor too long you lose the ability to taste it. Change to something drastically different so you can taste again. Most of us change over several flavors in a day and keep a rotation going. Vaping dehydrates you so you'll want to increase your water intake. Not soda, coffee, tea....just plain H2O is the best. Staying properly hydrated will also help your ability to taste your juices better. One of my favorite juice vendors is EC Blends. They allow you to customize your juices in many ways. I'd suggest not customizing the original flavor at first -- other than the nic, PG/VG levels. Try it to see what it needs first. EC Blends sells juice in 5 ml bottles at around $2.50 each so you can try all kinds of different flavors. The price will go up as you customize, though. They only make the juice after you order it so it'll be fresh. Many of their juices need to steep a bit before it gets really good. Steeping means you take the cap off the bottle, put it in a dark place away from pets and kids, shake at least once a day and let it sit for anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Have E-Cigs helped you quit smoking?

I'm getting used to this forum now, it's actually really fun. Getting some great advice from people. So one other thing I wanted to try grasp from people (being a newbie to e-cigarettes) is the amount to which its actually helped you to quit smoking. I've given up cigarettes cold turkey instead of trying to balance a little of both and then progress straight onto e-cigs full time. What are your methods and how affective has it been? Thanks guys!!1 point -

This is a good place to start: Dripping does take a bit of practice, but overall its not really hard. You will want a 510 atomizer (like the one from the link Tameiki posted) or 306 (my favorite). http://www.theveteranvaper.com/search.php?search_query=306&x=0&y=0 The thing I like the best about the 306...is that it is much easier to clean between flavors (if desired). I DIY my own liquids, so am frequently testing flavors. the 306 is the same as the 510, just without the metal casing. if you do decide to try the 306, you will need the 306 drip tip. the 510 atomizer needs a different drip tip. the drip shields help with leaking, very optional. the ego cones can also be used as a drip shield. http://www.theveteranvaper.com/search.php?search_query=ego+cone&x=0&y=01 point

Smoked a pack and a half a day for over 27 years and bought a few Njoy kings on April 23rd 2013 and that is also the last day I smoked a tobacco cigarette. Of course I have upgraded from the $7 disposables but that's where it started and smoking ended for me. Wasn't that hard for me really especially once I started looking at vaping as a nicotine replacement activity as opposed one that was to mirror what smoking was like. After a few days I knew I liked vaping better than smoking and the benefits financially, personally and health- quality of life wise have been mind boggling.1 point -

My name is Heather, I'm fairly new to vaping. Bought my first one about three months ago, quit smoking cold turkey. I love it. But.... Now that I'm seeing this vast world, I want to start customizing. As far as e-liquid, I normally buy from the smoke shop down the street, and I've gotten a few that almost choke me, some that are ok, and some that just don't cut it as far as throat hit. I guess what I'm looking for is similar to the throat feeling you get when smoking hookah. Granted at first I was craving the typical smokers feel (I was a camel crush smoker) but now that I enjoy the sweet fruity flavors, I almost don't need the intense throat hit, and I've noticed after vaping for a while, I start to lose the flavor and my throat starts to get scratchy. It's not enjoyable. I'm looking to order customized e-liquids but my problem is, I'm not sure what my PG-VG ratio is to begin with, so that I can work off of that. Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe there's a typical ratio that most companies use? I know I need to go heavier on the VG... Anyway, some help would be awesome Also, I'm using a typical 900 mah battery with a kangertech T3S, nothing special... Haven't gotten that far yet Oh, completely off subject but I work for Starbucks, if anyone enjoys coffee with their vape like I do in the morning, I can help pair flavors with roasts Casi Cielo, "close to heaven", is our seasonal roast now and it's amazing with chocolate and/or lemon flavors1 point -

it sounds way more complicated then it actually is. When i first started exploring it i thought the same thing, now its the only way I will vape. My best advice would be to google rebuilding micro coil or something to that nature and watch a few videos on youtube about it, that way you can see that the whole process really only takes about 10 minutes.1 point -

Have E-Cigs helped you quit smoking?

I had quit analogs for almost a full year (pack a day before I quit). Started cheating while out with friends, slowly became a regular smoker again, but added dipping so I did not stink at work. I really wanted to stop smoking and dipping after a year of falling off the wagon. I picked up a Blu and a no name brand e-cig at my regular smoke shop. It helped, but was not satisfying. I googled vapor chat forums, and found this place. I researched here, and found that there were some better devices that could actually produce a decent amount of vapor. I asked where I could find a good starter kit, and what I should buy to start. I ordered my Vision Spinner kit with some CE4's and EVOD's and some juice. Funny enough, I could not wait for the kit to come, so I went back to my local smoke shop and purchased a 650 mah kit (it had proprietary treading, not 510) to "try". I still had a couple analogs each day until I finished the pack. Like some others here, I found when I was vaping and smoking that I favored the e-cig. I would have a analog burning in the ashtray, and unknowingly grab the e-cig and vape away. After a week or so I had no desire to smoke. I think finding a juice that you like helps a lot. At first I could not find a B&M store to sample flavors, so I would order online and hope I liked the flavor (most of them I did not love). I finally found a couple B&M stores to sample before I bought... It opened a whole new world for me. I have since started DIY'ing juice with some friends that I converted over to vaping and could not be happier. It is nice to be able to tune in a mix (pg/vg ratio) and strength (started at 24 mg's down to 12 mg). Smoking was never a hobby for me... I would never join a smoking chat forum, or get all excited to go buy a pack ( I would get very moody if I did not go buy the pack, but I was never excited). Vaping, DIY'ing juice, and rebuilding is fun for me.1 point -
When I first started vaping, I was using my vape throughout the day to help me cut back on cigs, but after doing that for 2 weeks or so I stopped smoking analog cigarettes completely and it's been over 2 months now. I would say it's been very effective. I immeditely noticed my sense of smell and taste coming back, and I felt better, and the smell of regular cigarettes after someone smoked was really offensive, I'm definitely glad I made the switch and the transition was quick and painless. After seeing how successful I was, my father and brother also got in to vaping and both have cut down on their analog cigarette use substantialy1 point

RMS - root mean square http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_mean_square Look at the waveforms pictured. The first is rms. The modulation is much smoother. Mean modulation is much more coarse - basically switching the voltage source on-off-on-off-on-off at a rate where the mean voltage over time is the desired voltage output. It makes for a very hot vape and is harder on device coils than rms. I've yet to encounter anyone that prefers mean over rms.1 point

You can use the Boge cartomizers to direct drip but you have to take out the filler material first. Then, with the filler material out, it becomes an atomizer. I just have trouble getting the filler material out without screwing up the inside of the thing so the whole thing becomes unusable. It's just easier to buy an atomizer that's made for dripping.1 point

There are ways of stopping this without banning anything. It is called an ID check. The Internet has ways of checking IDs and can eliminate this issue without banning sales. There are companies that verify a persons age and then allows them access to adult sites. This technology has been around for a quite a few years now. Why punish everyone for outdated ways of controlling an issue? I don't get it. I would be more than happy to add the verify code to my site if it meant no banning of sales to people of legal age. It is little bit of a hassle the first time you sign up but once a person is registered to an ID check site they are good to go. Customers only give the Verifying company their information. Webmasters put a simple code is on the web site, the customer won't see any delay. These dumb assed politicians need to get their heads out of their stone aged ***!1 point -

You can definitely get leaks through the coil. Look, the coil itself is suspended in space directly in the airway and directly over the battery. The wicks pull in juice to the coil. If that juice wicks too heavily or the holes where the wicks enter the coil head are too sloppy, juice gets past the coil and there's only one place for it to go - drips right on to the top of the battery. This essentially shorts the battery and you get weak vapor production and a hot coil(increases resistance). The coil head itself has a tiny o-ring where it seats. As long as that is snug it shouldn't leak. The coil head should be firmly seated in the base but the base should never be over tightened to the battery. It deforms the pin at the end of the coil head where it contacts the battery.1 point

I am going to lock this thread. We are not here to help you start a business. When you registered your LLC you should have inquired with the state what the liabilities and laws might be. What category your business falls into for licensing etc. You should have also consulted a lawyer before taking on this venture. If you can't trust your partner, why are you starting a business with this person? This is standard business 101 research that anyone should do before starting any type of business.1 point

You mentioned cartomizers, not carto/tanks. You did know that you can use a cartomizer by itself without punching any holes in it? You can buy them specifically for this purpose. The ones you use in the tank are slightly different with a lip on the connection end to keep it flush to the bottom of the tank. It's used like an atomizer except it has filler inside so you can put lots of juice in to soak the filler material and vape. You don't need a tank with these but they're a pain because it's too easy to get a burnt hit due to the filler not letting the juice down to the coil fast enough if you chain vape. At least that's my experience, and I don't care for these (although many love them), I get a weird taste that I think is coming from the filler material and it's inconvenient for me.1 point

Vaping has become a trend?
Mike@VaporHut reacted to 3Rutez for a topic
Cloud chasing seems to be very popular with the younger vapers. When a teenager sees a human fog machine, they think it looks cool, and want to try it themselves. It's all about the attention for them. They do it in public, and worst of all in places such as grocery stores and other shopping outlets. It's this group of vapers that will quicken the banning of vaping. I get the whole cloud thing, I chase them a little too, but that is where the hobby aspect of vaping comes in, and I would never do it in a public place. Hell, I only vape where smoking is permitted, as I have respect for others. Just remember this….. for idiots, attention = cool. Why else do people pack so many subs into their cars to make other cars alarms go off when they drive by? Just my opinion.1 point -

Nano grams, parts per million, 0.038 isn't even worth jotting down let alone fear mongering about like the ANTZ like to do. A person would have to be in an unventilated room, every hour for years, (7000?) in order to receive enough nic into their system via vapor, to equal having smoked one cigarette without tar, toxins & carcenogens. The threshold danger is what, over 100mg? I'd have to look that up. My toothpaste is far more dangerous than anybody's SHV. TOOTHPASTE, Sensodyne: If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed (more than what, one squeeze? What about those of us who like to rinse, squeeze, repeat?), get medical help or call Poison Control Center. OTHER DIRECTIONS: Store below 86 Fahrenheit. Maximum FDA sensitivity active ingredient. (Don't use in hot arid climates or during heat waves?). For best results, use 3xs a day yeh right, best results for big Pharma.1 point -
