Sometime the vets on the forums tend to use terms and slag for some of the most common items, methods and hardware for vaping. This is not the ultimate guide but should make some of the terms a little clearer. (I hope)... Basic Jargon Vapor - Vapor is the substance exhaled when using an electronic cigarette which may look similar to cigarette smoke. Vaping - The act of using an Electronic Cigarette (as opposed to "smoking", as the device creates a vapor rather than smoke). Vape - Used often in place of the word smoke. I vape, I'm vaping. Batt - Battery. Atty - Electronic component that turns the eJuice into vapor. Cartridge or Cart - The part of a three piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled. Cartomizer or Carto - The part of a two piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled. Analog - Traditional tobacco cigarette. DIY - Do It Yourself. Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge. Drip Tip or DT - A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer. Mod - Modified (custom built) e-cigarette. TH - Throat Hit a strong feeling in the back of the throat when vaping. Primer Puff - A short, quick mouth inhale on the electronic cigarette similar to the action when smoking a pipe or cigar. This heats up the atomizer before a full draw. PV or Personal Vaporiser - An electronic cigarette. Some prefer to use this term as the word 'cigarette' has a lot of negative connotations associated with it that do not apply to PVs. PCC - Personal Charging Case / Portable Charger Case. Passthrough or PT - A USB adapter for the Electronic Cigarette which screws onto the atomizer like a battery, but draws power from a USB port. E-Liquid / E-Juice E-Liquid / E-Juice - A Flavored or unflavored liquid for use in an electronic cigarette, usually (but not always) containing nicotine. VG - Vegetable Glycerin PG - Propylene Glycol PEG - Propylethylene Glycol PGA - Pure Grain Alcohol NPG - Not containing Propylene Glycol. Sometimes used as a synonym to Vegetable Glycerin. Nic - Nicotine Cartridge Related Filler - The clump of fibers that hold the liquid in the cartridge. Stuffing - Another term for filler. BFM - Blue Foam Mod. (cart filler material) Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge. Dry Smoking - Same thing as dripping, referring to the fact that the cartridge us usually not filled, therefore dry. Tailpiping - Vaping directly from the atomizer without using a mouthpiece/cartridge. Drip Tip or DT A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer. Topping Up/Off - To add a few drops of liquid to a partially used cartridge to prolong its use. Measurements LR - Low Resistance HV - High Voltage (typically a 5 or 6 volt ecigarette) IMR - A battery with lower internal resistance and a high discharge rate, good for high drain applications like ecigarettes. in - inch (also abbreviated ") (1 inch = 25.4 mm) mm - millimeter (1 mm = 0.039 inch) cm - centimeter (1 cm = 0.394 inch) oz - ounce (1 fluid oz = 29.5 ml) ml - milliliter (1 ml = 0.034 fluid ounce) cc - cubic centimeter (1 cc = 1 ml) mg - milligram (often used as measure of nicotine per ml of eliquid) mA - milliamp (often used as a measure of available power) mAh - milliamp hour (often used as a measure of battery capacity/duration Forum Phrases PM - Private Message Troll - Somebody who makes a statement with the intention of annoying or angering other posters. This person usually ends up banned.1 point

Okay, you Coloradoans make fun all you want. Here in this part of Illinois, we definitely feel the effects of global warming during the winter. Last winter was the exception to the rule, but we got all our snow in January and February (enough of it to pull ourselves out of the drought). We had gone two full years without a snow day (even for low temps/wind - it has to be below 10 with nasty wind chill and nasty wind), and that's saying something, and we hadn't had DECENT snowstorms since I don't know when.....for quite a while, I know. We stopped buying snow boots YEARS ago, because there was no need. Let's face it. I haven't been able to drive since 2008, so I don't have to worry about that, and I have full faith in my spouse's ability to do that. I have MS, so summers are bad for me. Winters are bad in a different way, but I don't think as bad as summers, unless things don't get shoveled and I slip on ice/snow - but that hasn't happened in quite a while, and I'm smart enough that when things are too slick I ask for assistance (I've fallen too many times on the ice because my balance can be....off, or simply because it's too slick for my feet to gain traction). My dog LOVES the snow. He's, I guess he's middle aged. Six or seven for a 90 pound dog is definitely middle aged. And the only time he acts like a puppy outside is when it snows. If it snows, or sometimes rains, he comes running inside full tilt, all happy and joyous.1 point

I have never been one to argue steeping was bs. To each his own. Many of you swear by it so I never refute it. I personally have never had a juice improve with age.... But.... 2 months ago I bought 30mls of a cappuccino which I tried in a local B&M and loved. Took it home, cracked it open and it was next to the worst thing I have ever tasted! Vile! Perfume! Doo doo! I almost threw it away.... But I didn't, uncapped it (I have faith in you) and let it sit for a few weeks, spotted it on my shelf, capped it and put it away and pretty much forgot about it. Yesterday I was cleaning out my vape box, found the cappuccino and decided to give it a try...2 months after I bought it. It was awesome! WTF?! No, really, it tastes great. I will never scoff and scowl behind your backs again. I can't believe it! I'm converted!1 point

Just ordered 2 50-ml bottles of blueberry from EC Blends at 50 PG/50 VG at 12 mg. Wish they sold these by the 125 ml but they don't. They still offer the 20% discount on all orders so that took away a chunk of change. My SO just purchased four Panasonic NCR 18650B at 3400 mAh at 3.7v from a 100% positive feedback seller on ebay with free shipping at $11.99 each. Early Christmas present.1 point

Once you go glass you will be amazed at the difference but for some reason my wife still prefers her T3Ss she has used for 5-6 months now. Either way Davide or Protank are the way to go for glass imo.1 point -
With how much more the dual coils cost than the single coils I'm inclined to stay with the latter. You would think that dual coils would perform better but no.1 point

Do CE5's suck or do I suck?!

IMHO all Vision clearos suck hard. How they can make such great batteries and fail so hard on the clearos is beyond me.1 point -
Depending on the flavor some EC Blends juices are great right out of the mailbox while others do need to steep awhile. You can let it steep with the cap on or off. Or you could speed steep by putting the bottles into a ziplock baggie (this is just to keep the label from getting soggy and the writing illegible), get as much air out as possible, immerse in a bowl of hot water (not boiling) and let sit until the water cools. Repeat a couple of times shaking the bottles between water changes. This seems to steep the juices much faster. Vape Dudes' juices have never needed steeping for me. You can't go wrong with Medic's Flatline. He'll customize your juice six ways from Sunday and it's always good.1 point

Use only genuine Kangor Pro Tank coils. There are a lot of knock offs out there and those cause all kinds of problems. The extra coils that came with your Pro Tank should be okay to use. I'd also be getting more replacement coils so you don't have to do without when the last one goes. As for your iTaste I only just got my VTR today so I can't give you any advice. Someone on this forum who has more knowledge of these will be along to give you some information. The members on here are pretty great.1 point

That's where buying over time and having a rotation comes in. If you have a rotation routine going you can have some steeping while your vaping what has been steeped. When a bottle is steeped and ready to vape is when you order a new bottle so your having it steep while your enjoying the one that is ready to go.1 point -

Welcome to the forum BrandonVape. You have come to the right place to learn about vaping. Nice to know that there will be another B&M in my neighborhood. It's also good to know that you are trying to learn as much as possible. Some B&M locations have staff that really don't know what they are talking about and just try to sell customers anything. I used to live in Brandon but moved to North Tampa. Good luck to you and your wife.1 point -
