Radio Shack Model: 22-182 Multimeter MOD
ChrisP and 2 others reacted to Compenstine for a topic
This was brought up in another thread, moding out a multimeter for testing atomizers. I had bought a Radio Shack Model: 22-182 Multimeter just for building coils and testing other E-cig needs. I promised a tutorial of what I did when I was done, well, here it is. I started with a stock Radio Shack Model: 22-182 Multimeter This Multimeter comes in its own case and is mounted with 2 screws into the case for changing the battery. I wanted to use the case it came in as it was very compact and is easy to store. After some thought I decided to make a panel that would fit into where the test leads were stored. This would allow me to close the case lid and keep it all in one neat package. I found an old 5.25 black bay cover for a PC to make the panel. I used connectors I salvaged from dead 510 and 901 batteries and atomizes also some used wire from a old PC LED. I wanted a tight fit for the panel so I made a template of the test lead storage plate from a piece of semi ridged clear plastic. Laying the plastic over the multimeter I traced out the shape I needed for my panel with a Sharpie. After cutting the template out, I traced it onto the 5.25 bay cover. I placed the template in the upper right corner of the bay cover. This would allow the downed edge to act as a stop and a support for the panel once in place. Using a Dremel I cut out the basic shape, leaving room to adjust it's shape to fit tight in the test lead storage area of the Multimeter. I used the Dremel with a sanding cylinder to shape it for clean fit. I used a 5/16th in drill bit to make the holes where the new leads would be mounted. This bit was a tad smaller than the atty and batt but, I wanted a tight fit. The 3/8ths bit was just a hair to large. I then took my Dremel and a small sanding cylinder to make the holes just the right size for them to fit nice an snug. Note the holes are a little off I made a line to follow but the center punch moved a bit on the second hole from the top. Ooops lol After that was all done and ready to go, I soldered the all the leads together. I did this before installing them into the panel so I wouldn't risk melting the plastic panel. Once soldered and mounted them into the panel. I did a test on all the new leads to make sure all had a good connection and they all worked. I did this by taking a base reading on 1 atty. Then using it with an adapter to test both the 510 and 901 atty leads. I then used 1 batt and did the same with the 510 and 901 batt leads. After it all tested a go, I then used 5min epoxy to glue the leads in place. I also added some to the wires so they would move and possibly break the solder joint. I want to be able to remove the panel when I want so the wires had to be secured. Once the epoxy had set, I retested the leads just to make sure all the leads were still working. It was at this time that I cut the original leads from the multimeter making sure I left a little extra in case of a redo. I then soldered them to the leads of the panel. To protect the connection I used some shrink tubing on these connections. Now it is time to pop in the panel and test it again. It all tested good so there it is, a custom 510, 901 Atty and Batt tester. The space at the top allows me to add 4-5 adapters for testing other size attys, Batts or extending the lead up to test tanks that are to big around to fit directly on the 510 lead. Well, it's getting close to that time of year again. Yup...deer season is about to begin and I, for one, have been waiting with bated breath all year for it. And speaking of bated breath, I've been wondering about "baited" breath. Specifically, I'm wondering if there might be a particular flavor of eJuice that might serve as an attractant for deer or a cover-scent for me, like maybe a peanut butter or apple flavored eJuice that may bring 'em on in. As far as giving myself away with "smoke" signals, I tend to hunt from a blind, so the visible vapor shouldn't alert them to my position. Is that RY4 I smell?1 point

I recommend you find an experienced person who Vapes in your area who can help you locate your difficulties. If they won't help you at the shop (and this does happen) find another shop. There should be plenty in your area. It is a little difficult to understand your problem from what you have written. But, it sounds like you need to find the correct resistance for your tank, or, invest in a device called a "kick" that converts your k100 into a variable voltage device. But I would really recommend you find a friend who knows and can show you what to do, or find a shop that is truly helpful.1 point

Which is better? And another question
Tam reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Spydre I have never even held an Evod so can't compare to T3S but you just unscrew the base and fill. There is no plate with holes like Davide mini. As for batteries I only used Vision Spinner 1300mah before getting my Vamo and still use them from time to time. I have never used a Twist but I cannot imagine it is that much different outside the look and not being able to see the voltage settings as well. Heck sometimes I still use my std 1000mah Ego non VV when I want to have something smaller-portable or the mood strikes me. Tam I never had what I would call "trouble" filling them but when I started using my KPT 2 more it became obvious to myself that I liked it a lot better so I made the switch. The ease of filling is only one of the considerations for me and not as big as sturdiness, capacity, and liking the way it is built. They are both great tanks and I still use Davide minis for my occasional flavors. I vaped Apple Cinanna all day yesterday out of one.1 point -

Lol! And I didn't even bring in the "other" bag of goodies. You'll have to let me know how she goes, Troy. Hopefully, we got her into the gear she really needed to become a true vaper. The stuff she had was nice but was waaaay too advanced for a noob. The intimidation factor was hard at work to keep her from putting down the analogs altogether. I stayed for another hour after you and your lady left. While her hubby was learning how to rebuild coils for an RDA, we talked about vaping and tips and tricks. I'm cautiously optimistic that it'll take this time. Great to see you again and it was wonderful to get to meet your lovely lady. See you again in a week or two! Back ups and back ups of back ups. It's never a bad thing and you can never have too much.1 point

30ml Vape Dudes: Coffee @ 70/30 11mg 50ml Vape Dudes: Mocha Java Drizzle @ 70/30 6mg I hadn't received the usual two emails from them and had ran out of both the above. Strange as they have been outstanding on dependability. Then Shablam! The doorbell rings and I'm fully stocked!!1 point -
Lots of fun and prizes, best was seeing Tam again...this lady knows her stuff, converting noobs and training drippers!! This gal is such a hard core Vaper, she brought enough gear for a week, for just a one hour drive !! Probably just in case she's abducted by aliens. Lol1 point

We got two iTaste MVP's, three California hand blown glass tanks with duel coil flanged cartomizers (which I very may well be punching bigger holes into), one duel layer *pink* clearomizer tank, a California hand blown stylized drip tip, one straight chrome drip tip, one stylized chrome drip tip, and two plastic iTaste clearomizers, 6 flavors total. Three 30mLs Bull Juice (sweet redbull fruity tasting) Strawberry (very sweet strawberry, doesn't burn), and Spring Breeze ( !! !! !! Clearo cracker !! !! !! A very fresh blueberry, with an exhale of mint, amazing. *Glass tank only*) Three 15mLs. Raspberry Lemonade (still haven't tried it.. assuming it tastes just like the name) and Clove. (Amazing for cigarette cravings, and it over powers anything you mix it with, usually used to get rid of bad juice.) Lastly, Lemonade. (We requested this specifically, very strong. Very good. *Glass tank only*) A free syringe, and two free vape condoms.1 point -

Who is the best flavoring supplier?

Wizard Labs I have other sources as well but they have minimum orders of $200+. For most DIY Wizard Labs is the better choice.1 point
