  1. On a side note, for people who think they MIGHT need an airflow collar for the KPT2 and did not get one with their KPT2, the collar from the Davide works, if you have one.

  2. Did you get a regular sized Davide or a mini version? If you got the mini version you'll see three holes around the base. Just put a tiny piece of tape over one of the holes or put your finger over one and take a draw. The tape is what I use and the draw is now better. If you got the regular Davide, did you get a collar/beauty ring with it? If so you can use that to tighten up the draw by screwing it on, screwing Davide in, then unscrewing the collar with the Davide on until the collar is flush up underneath the bottom of the Davide. That should tighten up the draw by restricting airflow to the tank.

  4. Here's a hastily compiled tutorial (with pictures) to show you how to rebuild the heads for KPTs, EVODs, and various other BCC (bottom coil changeable) tanks. In this tutorial, I will be making a 4/3 wrap of 32g Kanthal A-1 around a 3.5mm silica wick to achieve a 1.8Ω coil. Break everything down to this point (just start pullin' stuff apart...you'll figure it out ). Coil some Kanthal around a silica wick using a sewing needle as a support. Place both leads through the housing until the wick and needle are as shown. Bend one lead to the side, thread the bottom grommet onto the other lead, and slip it into the bottom of the housing. Bend the other lead (the one you just threaded through the grommet) to the side and slide the bottom pin into the grommet. Bend the excess leads of Kanthal back and forth (really fast) until they break off flush with the head. Remove the needle. Replace the top stem. Trim off the excess silica (I use Chinese nail clippers). Replace the cup seal. All you have to do now is install your freshly rebuilt head into your BCC tank's base and vape on! Hope this was helpful...it works for me. Oh, yeah...I almost forgot...always check your new rebuilds with a meter before using it!!!

  5. Anyone who owns a SmokTech RSST will probably agree that it is a really great RBA, but it does have at least one flaw...it leaks. This is something that I've seen online over and over from RSST owners, so I figured it had to be a design issue. I then set out to figure out what the problem was and how to fix it. Well, I figured it out, and the solution is a simple one. The leak occurs because Smoktech decided to go with a hard white plastic insulator where the positive posts passes through the RSST's top deck, so your juice ends up flowing right past the insulator, down the shaft, and right out the bottom into your mod's 510 connection. Why they went with a hard plastic top deck insulator instead of a soft silicone insulator/seal is beyond me, but they did. To stop your RSST from leaking, you'll need to get some of these: Silicone top-hat seals for an AGA-T2 I was unsuccessful in finding just the seals, but I did find the entire AGA-T2 replacement part kit (which includes a couple of these seals) for $2.59 from VaporCigzz. (If anyone is successful in finding just the seals, please post where you found 'em.) Once you have your silicone seals, just break down your RSST and replace the hard plastic top deck insulator with one of the soft silicone insulators/seals. Then put everything back together, fill 'er up, and enjoy leak-free vaping. I hope this helps...mine hasn't leaked a single drop since I did this. My SmokTech RSST with AGA-T2 top deck seal...no more leaks!

  8. You most certainly need to graduate to the 'bottom coil clearos' and forget the rest. You will then just need to find the right juice consistency to use with them so they wick properly. I really think that is going to be as simple as that! I have recently purchased the 'Aspire BDC'... It's a bottom dual coil design... and they work really well. Good luck... and don't give up trying to find what works for you.

    Emergency vaping help, please!

I had the same experience with the CE clearos. I highly recommend you try out a EVOD on your Spinner. I use it all day at work and never get a burnt taste. I usually use a 70/30 mix in my EVOD. I do realize that the EVOD uses the same coils as what you put in your KPT, however I can only comment on my experience which has yielded great results. http://www.theveteranvaper.com/evod-mt-bcc-metal-bottom-coil-changeable/ ps.... Don't vape too fast

  11. I mean I am still using the Davide Minis, its not like I am tossing them. I have had a KPT2 for a while too. Just after using them both side by side and looking at advantages and disadvantages I decided to start using KPT2s for the 4 flavors I vape every day not because of the draw being airy; you just change the way you take the draw and its all good. I have never really gotten the "airy" thing. Its like drinking a milkshake or drinking a soda through a straw. Both can be awesome drinks but the way you suck them through the straw is different. Its mainly because of the ease of filling, extra capacity, and to be honest the way they look on my Vamo lol. My other flavors I vape occasionally will still go in the Mini Davides. I still think they both are quality quality products and the two best tanks out there in the 2-2.5ml capacity out of all those I have tried. I have not tried the Davide full size mainly because I had a KPT2, liked it, and just went with it.

  14. Well, got two V4's a couple weeks ago, and I am just now getting to working with them. Since these were bought with testing my DIY juice in mind, I have not modded the device as I want to test my creations on a device that vapes similar to what the general population of vapers would use. So, the build is an 8/7 wrap micro coil (1/16th inch inside diameter) with a cotton wick. The coil meters at slightly over 2 ohms, and vapes like a champ!!! Shown on my Sigelei 8a in 18350 mode.

    Help me spend some money

Alot of the folks around here really like the spinner. VV like the twist. Easier to see the dial and settings on the bottom. http://www.theveteranvaper.com/vision-spinner-1300mah-variable-voltage-battery/ edit: that vendor gets great reviews here as well.

  19. ***Not a battery expert I have never read or heard of a credible story of a battery exploding while in use, always when being charged and for me 100% of those i have read about were either being charged on a laptop or in a hot car which are both no-nos in my book. I have yet to read of one that exploded when using the wall outlet adapter which I am pretty sure adds another layer of protection. Also cheap knockoff batteries seem to be more prone to these problems. I think when charging a battery there are 3 layers of protection. First the battery itself should have overcharge protection and be vented, second the USB adapter has overcharge protection, and third the wall outlet adapter adds another layer of protection. I will only buy brand name batteries from reputable sources and will only charge it in a wall outlet and I feel completely safe doing so BUT I still never leave one charging unattended and always have them in a metal container while charging. If any of the above is incorrect, someone please correct me.

  22. Soooo..... My ego charger has a broken wire, needed to order a new one... went on discount vapers and ordered one... and a new wall adapter... and a 5pk of coils.... and a T3S for the heck of it.... and another 1300mah Vision Spinner... Went there just for a charger.... do you think this might be considered a disorder of some kind?

    Question about testing ohms

You're correct. The more wraps, the higher the resistance. The higher resistance coils work fantastically on the Vv type mods. Just gradually turn the volts up higher until the flavor sings for ya. ( or burns lol). I highly recommend the cartomizer ohm reader for everybody, even for us safety mod users. They are invaluable.

  27. Thanks a bunch for the info on where to buy the insulators. I'm ordering some now. As for the washer under the spring, I didn't have one at the time that had the proper ID & OD so I went without it, but after a month of use, I still haven't had any leaks. *EDIT* It's nice to know where to get the insulators, but with $6.20 as Kidney Puncher's cheapest shipping option, I think I'll wait until I need some more gear to place an order there. That's a little (a lot) too much to spend on shipping for a $1.95 item. I suppose I could try contacting them and asking if they mind dropping them in a regular envelope and mailing them as a letter. *ANOTHER EDIT* I just sent them an email that says: I know this is going to make me sound like a cheapskate (which I am, I suppose), but if I buy a couple of your AGA Series Positive Post Insulators - 10 packs, couldn't you just drop 'em in a regular envelope and charge me for mailing them like a letter? I just can't see paying $6.20 for shipping on an item no bigger than a packet of Sweet-N-Low. Who knows...maybe they're cool. *YET ANOTHER EDIT* I see where people are using these same insulators for replacement grommets when rebuilding KPT & EVOD coils. Very interesting.

  28. I just happened on this site while searching for RSST leak fixes. Thank you for the info and pics. In regards to you asking about a supplier that sells the post insulators by themselves, Kidney Puncher sells a pack of ten for $1.95. http://www.kidneypuncher.com/aga-series-positive-post-insulators-10-pack . If I may make one suggestion, others have stated that placing a washer between the spring and insulator seems to provide uniform pressure on the seal.
