I-Chybrid...a game changer?
Uma and one other reacted to CascadianExotics for a topic
Every so often, there comes along a device that could be considered a "Game-Changer." Now, I am not an e-Cig expert, nor do I play one on TV. However, in my opinion, the I-Chybrid has the potential to fit that title. Priced at under $40, this little gem has it all. The i-Chybrid combines looks, functionality, and ease of use into a compact, light weight, and sturdy package. Under the Hood The i-Chybrid is made of aircraft aluminum construction with solid brass contacts. The unit is outfitted with an attached I-ATTY, which features a Pyrex tank. Unlike the Z-atty, which this unit is designed from, the I-ATTY is super simple to set up. The lip around the edge of the top deck can be a bit of a pain to work around, but once it has been acclimated to, the end user should have little trouble working around it. My only complaint here is the air hole placement. Stock, the air hole is dangerously close to the top of the atomizer cover. At 1.2mm, the draw might be a bit loose for some people. For me though, I usually just cut to the chase and drill out my Gennys to 1/16th inch, which puts the bottom of the air hole just below the atomizer cover, and is subject to condensation buildup underneath. Tinkerers take note: Later on, I'm going to try sanding the bottom of the cover to get the placement back to where it should be. If this works how I want, I will be updating this thread. Battery Chamber and Switch The chamber holds a single 18350 battery, and does not have any extension tubes available. Though the i-Chybrid is well built, it is still anodized aluminum. Therefore, it is prone to scratches in the finish, and will dent if not properly stored. The button design is a bit annoying to work around. But, the switch has a good throw, and does not require a locking ring. So, the unit can be set down without firing. Performance The i-Chybrid, being constructed of aluminum is already highly conductive. Add in the brass contacts, and you have a recipe for a great vape with little voltage drop. Using a fresh AW 18350 IMR at 4.19 volts, the i-Chybrid experiences a mere 0.38 volt drop under a 0.8 ohm load. That number compares with just about any of the high-end devices currently being sought after. Final Thoughts The i-Chybrid is simply a great device. I carried it around unprotected in my pocket all day yesterday. At work, in the car, around the house, and around my neighborhood. No sign of leaking, misfires, scratches, or dents. For under $40, you will not find a better deal anywhere. The unit comes with a bag of spare parts, a small screwdriver, a spare pre-rolled wick, and a length of coil wire. The atty also comes with a pre-installed wick and coil. Get yours while they last at: www.101vape.com2 points -

Why does seeing your flavors bother him? Would he rather see packs of analogs?2 points -
I've placed five orders with FastTech, and I've been very satisfied with everything I've bought from them. I did have a little trouble with a Cobra clone RBA I got there, but I must admit that it was partly user error and not entirely their fault (one should never use the coil & wick that comes stock on an RBA - always dissect and wash the hardware first, then re-wick & coil with fresh materials). Other than shipping time being longer than I'm used to (over a week, but probably less on the west coast), I've been completely satisfied with them.2 points

That's what I DO - well, okay, I have all of them in a tackle box (they were in the cabinet of desk, so he still couldn't see them), except for the sample bottles of No Bake Cake and Mint Chip Ice Cream that Aqua sent to me - those are on my desk. And my vary rarely used Turkish Honey Blend, which is only used if I decide to mix it with my Honey Wood - but that's far enough back in the cabinet (behind all my meds) that he couldn't see it from where he's sitting. I was thinking about getting some straight honey flavored juice to mix with the turkish blend to cut down on the harsh, but I don't know if that sample has to steep before it's palatable (they made it up because I asked for it), but as it came out, it was pretty nasty. But the fact of the matter is, we're on a fixed income. I get disability, and both he and my oldest son are in college. Oldest son lives there, but hubby drives, so that adds another expense (gas for going 40 minutes one way two and from campus all week). But I forgot to add, I ordered Chocolate Banana from Vape Dudes and another attempt at Irish Cream from, oh, I can't remember the name right now. If that Irish Cream isn't right, I think the last place I have left to try is EC Blends.1 point

I suggest going to YouTube and finding a video on how to rebuild a Kanger Protank coil. I've had nothing but trouble with factory BCC (bottom coil changeable) heads. Eventually (sometimes right away), they either leak juice into the connection area or gurgle. Since I started rebuilding my own heads, I rarely have that problem now, and if I do get a leak on a rebuilt coil, I can just rebuild it again. By the way, I use 32 gauge Kanthal A-1 to make five wraps around a 2mm silica wick (supported with a sewing needle). Then I put another 2mm "flavor" wick on top of the coil (which further fights off leaking). Then I reassemble everything and trim the wicks. Once you watch a couple videos on the subject, you'll have a better understanding of the process. It's really very easy to do.1 point

Wattage vs Voltage

I drive my car @120mph while vaping is that bad?1 point -
Canker sores are a ‘side effect’ of quitting tobacco cigarettes. Several concerned vapers have asked their dentists and ENT surgeons about the canker sores since vaping and they were given the following information: Tobacco smoking provides alkalinity in the mouth – so when you stop smoking the analogues and change to e-cigarettes, it takes time for the mouth to re-balance, and the mouth is essentially too acidic. This re-balance can take months or longer to occur. Then you add vaping into the mix – which is dehydrating to the mouth (it dries it up) this can exacerbate the condition. It is not the vaping that causes the sores; it is the not smoking.1 point

Proper Inhalation Technique
T-Bone reacted to Christopher for a topic
It would seem one of the major frustrations of new users can all be boiled down to one thing… How to correctly pull vapor from an e cigarette. Unlike a cigarette, it’s advised that you take long, slow drags on each and every owners manual, but most don’t know just how long or how slow they’re supposed to be doing it. Can I get an amen Noobies? OK Moving on… Once newbies ‘get it’, their other e cigarette issues are secondary. There’s a lot of posts where forum members advise new users to use the proper technique, but it’s all scattered throughout the forum. So, here you go..I’m doing a ‘guide’ based on using a MANUAL 510, which is one of most popular first models. (This is applicable to most e cigarettes) Steps 1. Press the button for around 1-2 seconds BEFORE you start to inhale 2. Without letting go of the button, draw on the ecig slowly. Your inhalation should be at least FIVE seconds long guys! It’s just THAT easy! If you’re frustrated because you don’t feel like you’re getting anything, that’s because you’re probably smoking it like an analog, short, quick puffs. It’s what we’re USED to doing, but this is NOT a cigarette. While ordering a manual PV is strongly recommended for everyone, if you have an automatic version, (where you just ‘drag’ on it to get it started), then you use the same method, you just don’t have to hit any buttons beforehand, so take a ‘primer puff’ and you’re good to go! Bottom line is, take a LONG drag…at least 5 seconds in length Credit: domino38 (ECF Member) Edit By: Christopher1 point -
Well, let me clarify my comment above. They did say they tried to fit the four minis I ordered into a box but it didn't fit. I would guess that's when they stuffed them into the bubble wrap envelope and then into a flimsy cardboard priority envelope. I regularly send gifts to friends all over the world and don't have problems making sure the items get there without damage. It's really not that hard. *rolls eyes*1 point

You drew the short straw and got a batt that didnt last long. I have ego batts that are over 2 years old that still work and Ive had some that lasted about 2 weeks. Like we say a lot on the forum, "QC isnt that great in China".1 point

yep,3.8v with 2.2ohms is ~6.5 watts and 4.2 v with 2.5 ohms is ~ 7 watts Just remember it may taste a bit stronger when you're on the wattage setting due to the fact that the twists and spinners etc. have some voltage dropout under load but the watts setting on the vamo probly won't. HTH1 point
