I've used all types of delivery devices. Before migrating to KPT's as my go-to devices I was using Vision Vivi Nova's and had no real complaint. Did I get occasional leaks? Yes. Was it a chronic problem? No. Was I overall satisfied with them? Yes. I still consider the Vision Vivi Nova's far superior, all things considered, to what I considered my go-to devices previously. But what I like may suck in the opinion of others. That's why you have to take everything you read in forums like this with a big grain of salt.2 points

I understand completely...it's definitely not for everyone. The vaping community has come a long way from the days of dripping, and some of the new delivery devices out there are nothing short of amazing, so dripping has sort of gone the way of the Dodo with most vapers these days. The biggest pro to drip atties is that you're not tied down to any one flavor for long. They're great for testing new juices, and for people who like to switch flavors a lot. Short of a properly set up RBA, there's no better taste you can get than from dripping. I've never tried the atties that you got, but I have tried some that I just didn't like at all. My recommendation still stands on the HH.357. It's the best atty I've ever used by far, and that's no exaggeration. If you ever want to find out what dripping should be like (pure unadulterated flavor & hassle-free), get one. Side note - It seems strange to me, but one of the atties that I really like (HH.357 - $21.99) is about the most expensive one available, and another (Boge 2Ω - $3.50) is about the cheapest one available. Go figure. I give the HH.357 a 10, the Boge 2Ω a 6, the Empire Mods Premium LR 901 a 7, and everything else I've tried a 3 or less.2 points

Which batteries should I buy for my new Vamo V3?
DarthVaper and one other reacted to joe2003 for a topic
This is just my opinion, alternate opinions or arguments are welcome (I like to learn ) I prefer to use a single boosted batt over using stacked batts, not only for safety issues but also for convenience. The best performance rated 18650's I've heard of are the Panasonic but they are pricey and sometimes hard to find. I like the AW IMR 18650's for their safer chemistry and better handling of boosted power for higher wattage vaping. They are easy to find in 2000mah rating for good long charge life but be aware that it will take ~8 hours to fully charge. There are other IMR batts available but AW has built a rep for good QC. As for chargers the PILA(sp) brand have the best rep. but again are pricey. A lot of us use the TrustFire TR-001 without issue and it has 2 independent charging channels which can charge from 16340's up to 18650's with no probs. but will safely charge only 3.7 volt styles of batts. ohms of the batt doesn't matter it will charge it correctly as long as it's the right voltage. My batts typically read 4.12- 4.19 fresh off the charger. HTH2 points -

The richest most favorable juices I've tried so far: Adam Bomb's "mama's cookies" - very sweet and tastes just like it sounds ; cookie with bakery flavors, hint of cinnamon, and even a raisin finish. Lush Vapor "Bang Bang Orange Julius" - by far the best orange flavor I've had, sweet and creamy The Vaping Monkey "monkey buns" - huge cinnamon roll with some unidentifiable spices. Sweet and lush. All at 12mg and 50/50 - I find that more than 12mg really mutes flavor but that's fine with me because I've dropped down to mostly 12mg now with an occasional 18mg to handle cravings. Couple of those I had to guess if they were 50/50 because they aren't labeled and I guess it's proprietary2 points

One of the tricks I do is change out my coils before they get too gunked up. I rotate a new coil in and then take the used coil and rinse it thoroughly and let it dry for a couple days. I've found that if you let them go for too long they get beyond the point where they can be cleaned. The low resistance coils (1.8 - 2.0) are best with thinner juices and give lots of vapor quickly but they're easy to burn up and give dry hits. With thicker mixes a 2.4 ohm is great especially if you have twist or a spinner and you can boost it up a bit for big hits and lots of flavor. That's just my experience.2 points

While I am new to this particular forum, I have been vaping since April of 2011. I currently have a Vision Variable Volt mod that I can't understand how I ever lived without. I hope to answer lots of questions and help others find their perfect vape.1 point -
You'll see a huge diff in 50/50. It'll be smoother though with less throat hit. I used to want that big throat hit but it's just not important to me now. I found 80/20 unsatisfying in the vapor deparrtment. 60/40 is a nice compromise1 point

I'm not sure where this post should go so I'm sticking it here. There's a juice (Mojito) that I got hooked on shortly after I started vaping, it came from my local brick and mortar store. He mixed his juices at 40 PG/60 VG, 24 mg nic. Over time he changed the ratio to 30 PG/70 VG and now it's too thick. For me. Also, as I tried new juices from different vendors my taste buds changed and the flavor of this Mojito is no longer quite what I like. So, I started adding a little bit of sweetener. That was good. It needs a little more mint. Mmmmm. That's better. It needs to be a little thinner so I added PG... and I finally got something I really, really like at the viscosity that won't kill coils in my clearomizers. Being a person who likes to share I gave a couple of friends a sample to try. They really liked it! And asked if I'd make them some more. They're willing to pay me for it as well so I'm not out anything on supplies. I'll only charge them for what I use because I'm not out to make a profit. Tonight I've been busy making like a mad scientist and mixing. I don't use a formula as I just add a little to the base juice and go from there. Add a little of this. Vape. Add a little of that. Vape. It needs a little more of this. Vape. Lather, rinse, repeat as necessary. Now, I've been at this for over an hour or so and pretty much chain vaping (via direct dripping) something that started out at 24 mg of nic. These days I only vape 12 mg at most so I'm a little dizzy from all the nic I've been vaping. There's a killer headache just around the corner waiting to pounce. So far I've mixed two 50 ml bottles and one 30 ml bottle and the last one's almost there. Almost but not quite. It's probably a good idea to leave it for the night and start again tomorrow but I really want to finish this. Lol. It's bad enough that I play with the juices that are already premade. Can you imagine the havoc I could raise if I were to take the final step and start to DIY?1 point
-
Brought everything into a shop. Turns out the new clearomizers actually do fit its just that the are spring loaded so takes a little more to hook them up. Was told they were on the cheap side but an upgrade from what I had. Going to look into getting some wick less ones when I receive the new battery. The old batteries are still not holding charges so I am assuming they are bunk. Going to cut my losses and move on. From now on, will buy from est vendors.1 point

I'm using the smoketek bridgeless at 2.0 ohm and it's performing nicely. I'm getting a nice amount of vapor, and a natural pull on it. Really good flavor. I'm pretty happy with it It doesnt really compare with my Octopus RDA which gives a ton of vapor and the purest of flavor so far that ive tried. Its a little more trouble to use (not that much) and you cant turn around flavors as fast as the the smoketek.1 point

You WON'T be sorry! In fact, once you try one, you'll never be able to use any other dripper without feeling like you're missing something.1 point

Yep. On your recommendation a long time ago I got a couple of the 510 to 510 adapters. If I remember right I have both the sealed and unsealed ones. I would think that the standard size is the same as the others I've been buying. If it were any shorter they'd label them as "short". Okay, I'm off to make an order. Thanks, Rixter, for helping me spend more money!1 point

Using a different delivery method that's new and has a learning curve is much like trying to quit smoking. If you're not of the mindset to want to change to it, it's not going to be for you. Different things work best for different people. If tanks and clearomizers are what you like, then it's good that you found something that works for you. No need to fix what ain't broken. Glad you gave it a try anyway. That said, not all atomizers are the same. I've had some that had incredibly tight draws while others were so airy that it hit like the Pro Tank for me. I think, of all the different ones I've tried, the Boge 2.0 ohm that Rixter linked to, and the Smoktek 2.0 ohm bridgeless atomizers from Mt. Baker Vaper are my favorites that deliver consistently good hits without the tightness of draw. I'm looking at some bridgeless 306s right now as the bridged 306 don't do it for me. Also looking at a few more RDAs. I'd like to be able to rebuild my own coils, that would be so much less expensive. And I'm waiting until the HH.357 comes back in stock at the 2.0 ohm.1 point

Agreed. I shouldn't have used the word "eliminates"... "reduces its conductivity" would have been a better choice.1 point

I never even attempted to use the drip shield. I cleaned out the attys with a tissue and blew the primer out as instructed. I put a drip tip on, dripped 3 drops in, vaped until I got a metallic taste, dripped 3-4 drops in, and repeated. I think the problem is I have gotten so used to the draw off these Kanger tanks and the attys are a lot tighter draw like the Vision tanks I cant use without getting a headache from sucking so hard. It felt weird to me, my battery got very hot to the touch, and it was just overall not something I liked. I will file it under a "to each their own" kind of thing. I got it to work, its not that. I just found myself wanting to get my tank back on the whole time. I did with two flavors and on each there wasn't an appreciable difference in the taste to me, not enough to make me want to continue. I guess its not for everyone. Its not that I couldn't do it, its that I prefer my tank.1 point -
I think what's happening here is that you're making this too complicated. Dripping is the absolute easiest method possible to vaporize e-liquid with. Drip 3 drops of juice in your atty. Vape 'til it's gone. There's nothing mystical about it. If your drip shield is making your draw impossible, it's just because you got the wrong shield to use on an eGo-threaded battery without using a 510-510 extension, so the bottom o-ring of the shield is blocking your airflow. (Click here to see how a drip shield works) If you really want to use your drip shield, you can pick up a 510-510 extension for a couple of bucks which will make your shield usable, but Empire Mods sell drip shields designed to use on eGos that fits over the outer threads of your battery's connection so the bottom o-ring doesn't block your airflow. Just keep in mind that using a shield is optional. BTW - You can get Boge 510 2Ω atties at VapeLite for $3.50 each.1 point

My brother did the tunnel rat thing with the 173rd Airborne. Flashlight in one hand, .45 in the other. I remember a snapshot from one of the undeveloped instamatic film carts he sent home with him kneeling behind a blindfolded vc kid he pulled out of one. My reading over the years has tended towards non-fiction military history kind of stuff, usually WWII or Civil War.But I've read a lot of great fiction and sci-fi too. Some of my favorite fiction works were by Michener, Ludlum and H.G. Wells. Have also read a lot of stuff by little known authors that imo shouldn't have remained little known. I used to tell people that books were the best movies ever made. They play silently but vividly inside your head, on demand, no special effects required.1 point

2.0 ohm is my favorite although I've been known to branch out to 1.8 or 2.4 if I can't get the 2.0. No stepping on toes going on here. We all just want to help, and it always helps to hear others' point of view and their experiences. The more info we can add, the better for people to make up their own minds.1 point

If youve flooded the atty it "increases the resistance" and your battery can get hot. Just like when a clearo floods the top of your battery But also when you are dripping that atty is not immersed in liquid and its pretty exposed so you will definitely notice more heat.1 point

Congrats on switching over to vaping from smoking! You might be a patient that needs to refrain from nicotine as well as from the smoke? If so, you're in luck, because the eLiquid makes it so easy to wean ourselves off of nicotine. What is your MG strength right now? Do you have more than one battery/clearomizer set up? If so, then save the mg you're vaping now for those strong cravings times in one ecig and vape a lower nic in your other setup the rest of the time. (there are only about 6-12 cigs a day that we jones for, the rest are habit and boredom). As your body adjusts, introduce an even lower MG level perhaps in a 3rd setup. Having it available in a 3rd setup will let you go back to your tried and true very easily and effectively any time you feel the "need". To help educate your DR, about the eCigs, you can find a collection of helpful info on sites like CASAA.org or Dr. Seigel's Blog, etc. Stay away from ALA, ACA, ACS,...you know, all the "helpful" orgs and societies who are subsidized by the Big Pharma and Big Tobacco companies. (cig tax monies). (American Lung Asses), etc. As far as the picnic? You'll be fine!! Everyone will be saying.. "ohhh that smells so good!! Blow it over my way!!", .. "What are you smoking in that thing?"... etc. Just chain vape through any cravings. The hardest one will be the after meal/after treat, with beverage ones. But you can do it! If your setup can't chain vape, (dry hits), then load a second one and be ready to chain vape by alternating them. You can do it!! Especially when you realize how awful the cig tastes after you take a hit of your vape. In fact, when I first started, I had a cig in one hand and an eGo in the other... I would take MORE hits off the eGo because it tasted better and it also provided MORE vapor! Both. After a week, I could no longer stand to light up a cig at all. (I was a 2 pack a day smoker for over 40 years). If you can't, it's okay. You still smoked less overall, than you have in forever. You are set up to start your new non-smoking life tomorrow. You'll be fine. Relax!!! Oh, btw, I had a Dr. appt last week... 100/70... (makes my jogging/exercising hubby so crazy jealous!!!), but my Dr called me in or consultation after receiving my blood tests back. I stressed and stressed.. hubby kidded and joked.. "they're going to take away your chocolate!"... etc... my BP that day? 135/80. Quite a jumpt!! But the Doc just laughed and said she'd never ever take away a gals chocolate, ... it's actually good for us... but she is worried about my bad cholesterol levels. That's it. Nothing else. Just watch the pizza intake, and stress levels. Stress will get us before anything else does. Just ask Big Pharma, who gets richer and richer off those dang stupid pill commercials, smoking propaganda gum/patch/etc.., ... Relax, enjoy your vape, and we'll hook you and Doc up with some proper studies and literature off the net for her to research. ECLAT studies is one...1 point
