    90 days today!

As of today, it has been 90 days since an analog has touched my lips! As my cardiologist put is, Vaping may have added not years, but decades to my life! Thanks to everyone here that has helped along the way and I hope I have been able to pay it back in some ways.

  2. I won't get in to the battery life section of mods but i can tell you from firsthand experience the amount of vapor or "clouds" you produce has nothing to do with having a mod over an eGo. I make CLOUDS of vapor with my 1.8ohm ce4, vision spinner eGo, and a juice composed of 80/20 vg/pg. It all comes down to your combination of resistance/voltage and the type of juice you vape. Obviously higher vg content juices are going to create way more vapor than pg juices. And the lower the resistance coupled with a higher voltage will give you better vapor as well. All of that is easily accomplished with nothing more than a vv eGo and the right resistance delivery device+ a high vg content juice. All that being said, if i had to point you in the direction of one mod, based on personal experience i'd say the Provari. Great customer service, 1 year warranty no questions asked, highest possible level of craftsmanship, internal protection. It's simply the best quality, safest mod out there. And it has stood the test of time over and over. Btw, my original point was to have you ask yourself if you really need a mod. Because as i said i've owned a lot of different devices including a Provari and i can promise you i never got a "better" vape out of the Provari as far as making clouds are concerned than i do out of a $25 eGo battery. Maybe you should try switching juices or delivery devices first before investing in an expensive mod.

    Advice for my first mod?

I echo BluCavvy. The Twist and Spinner have just as much "power" as any mod, because of it's special pulsating current. They're actually fantastic little devices for the buck. Unfortunately, a set will not last you for forever, The Provari will last a long time. If and when it does need repairs, it only takes a week or two because they are here in America. You'll get to see your ohms, battery life, power up, power down, LED on/off, .. all the basic readouts that you'll ever need when and if you move on to other types of atomizers. You can use a pretty large atomizer/tank on a Provari, but they're completely silly on an eGo type. The VW can be had with a good solid mechanical mod and a Kick. Great for when you get into the rebuildable attys or huge tanks. There are some new DNA20 mods out there now, that might interest you. Fabulous mods. (and I'm sure some flops as well). I haven't used an Evic yet, but I've heard great things about them. (the heads came off, but I think they've fixed that quirk, right guys?). I haven't used the Zmax, and I've heard both good and bad about them. It's pretty large, correct. I obviously am no help with deciding between these two. My apologies. I wouldn't have spoken up at all, but I wanted to bring an echo to BluCavvy's thoughts.

  4. i have an evic and i will say this. My Itaste does just as well with big clouds bc of the e-juice i vape. I love my eVic dont get me wrong... but if your a pocket user i wouldnt even think about it. Its a pretty delicate mod. you could always look at the mechanical mods if your wanting to use the APV style batteries. but your device has very little to do with the cloud. ITs more your actual tank/delivery system and your juice. personally i would recommend some like the K100 if your looking for a mod. Its mechanical so it can get abused more.

  5. They are great but there is a learning curve. I had to buy some 2X reading glasses and THEN I could see the posts really good! I know a lot of you guys don't like ECF but there is a thread over there about building micro-coils that I read(long) and learned A LOT about coils and wicks. I'm using plain 100% pure cotton wicks now. They work fantastic and can be changed in minutes. I liked this so much I bought a Duece Dyno for $18? and it has thumb screws (still need to snug w/pliers) and 2 neg. posts for dual-coils! Here it is on my new Kamry, Dana

  6. I had just filled up my 3.5ml Viva Nova with my favorite Blue Honey and I placed the collar then the VN on the battery. Then I noticed that I had put it on the wrong battery so in a rush I quickly unscrewed what I thought was the VN from the collar but the bottom of the VN must not have been on tight because the whole bottom of the VN came off and 3.5ml of my favorite juice spilled into my Nursing uniform lap just before having to walk into her home. I am a Home Health Nurse. I shyly explained. She was so proud that I had quit smoking it took all the tension about the big grease spot you know where.

  7. Mods feel free to move this to the review section if needed, but I thought I would post it here since its really not an e-cig review or a liquid review as much as a comparison, but if you think it belongs there please move it. First off I am a huge fan of Kanger products, and I like both of these a lot. As with anything in life, there are pros and cons of each. I am going to compare these on the basis of the following criteria: 1. Looks 2. Taste-Vapor production 3. Ease of use 4. Maintenance 5. Cost of ownership 1. Looks: I like the way both of these clearomizers look but easily prefer the look of the T3S over the T2. I give the advantage here to the T3S. It is clearly marked a KangerTech product with the logo and name on the unit where the T2s do not have this. I also like that it has a gauge for liquid level both upside down and right side up since you fill from the bottom on these. They both come in color, but I find the looks of the T3S more appealing. Advantage T3S. It has a very clean uniform fit and finish. The ONLY complaint I have about the looks is the mouthpiece is clear which looks cool when unused but after a few draws you can see the condensation in it. Its there in the T2 as well, but with a black mouthpiece you cannot see it. I have had to get used to this. 2. Taste and Vapor production: Here is another area I am conflicted. With the T3S the flavors taste the same from top to bottom for me so far after vaping at least a tank of my go-to flavors with them. I might have to give the T2 a slight taste advantage for the first 1/4 of the tank, but after that it drops off for me unless I swirl the wicks which I hate to do. I do not notice a huge difference in vapor production but it seems the T3S produces slightly more. As my wife pointed out, there is definitely more of a "throat hit" from the T2 but at this point I am happy to tame that down just a bit. There is not a huge difference in this category either, but would give a slight advantage to the T3S since I think it produces slightly more vapor and the fact that my flavors taste the same from full to empty with all my flavors. 3. Ease of use: The T2 wins this one hands down. It is virtually impossible to get liquid in the air holes and-or flood a T2 from my experience. They fill from the top, very easy to do with little mess. You can fill while still attached to the battery. With the T3S you have to turn it upside down, unscrew the bottom, either be very very careful or plug the hole with a Q-Tip, put the bottom back on, and then re-attach it to the battery. Both are very easy to change the coils, although the T3S has an advantage here as you can easily change coils with a full tank as I have already done a few times (I will get to this later). One thing to mention here is due to the design of the T3S it doesn't work well for me with a lanyard on stock Ego batteries. It is fine on my Spinners, they have plenty of space and threads, but on the smaller batteries it screws down too far and places the lanyard ring in a bind and sometimes creates a distance that it doesn't make contact and you have to mess with it to get it to fire. I have gone back to using my Spinners anytime I plan to use a lanyard when using my T3S. I cannot efficiently use my lanyard and my EgoT 1000mah or my Ego Mini 400mah because the ring blocks the coil from making contact with the battery. 4.Maintenance: This is also a category where I am torn. It may be too early in my use of the T3S to accurately talk about this, but of the 10 I ordered with 1.8ohm coils standard I have replaced all 10 with 2.2 ohm coils that I ordered. The coils that came standard started flooding one by one but after exchanging them the leaking is minimal, but still there. I never had anything like this happen with the T2s. So far, there is definitely more maintenance with the T3S than the T2 for me anyway. Every coil I have used leaks at least a little and when refilling there is a procedure of blowing out, swabbing down the air hole and mouthpiece. It reminds me of the Ce4s in this regard. Let me say this, its not terrible. There is not liquid running out the bottom of these, but to say they don't leak a little would be being dishonest in my reviews. The second part is how easy it is to change the coils. With the T2 I always took out the coil, soaked the tank and cap in alcohol for a day or two, then let it air dry and go back into the rotation. With the T3S you just turn it upside down and unscrew the bottom, unscrew the old coil, screw in a new one, swab out the air hole, and screw it back on. I think it is more efficient as long as the coils last similar time-frames. 5. Cost of use: This is where there is not a lot of difference on the surface but as time goes on I can see either one having the advantage here. Up front costs are similar, in the neighborhood of $5 with one coil. The coils for the T2 are $2 and for the T3S are $1.39 so there is a difference there but not huge given how long they should last. I believe the T3S in the long run will be more efficient. I cannot count how many half tanks of liquid I have poured out of my T2s when a coil blows. It seems to ruin the whole tank and even if not, most comes out when you try to pull soaked wicks out and replace with new ones. That's why I gave up on even trying this with the T2s. With the T3S if I blow a coil I can replace it and continue to use the liquid in the tank. You can also buy replacement bases with the T3S ($2.50) but cannot buy replacement lids for the T2 (That I am aware of) and I have had a couple of them get the threads messed up and this renders them "spare parts". Bottom line is I like both these units for different reasons. I am planning to continue using the T3S as my daily driver for now but will not ever be bummed out at all I have with me is a T2. They both are great delivery devices. I just love finally being able to vape a whole tank of liquid with no drop-off in flavor or taste without having to top them off all the time. For a total noob, I would probably recommend the T2 over the T3S due to the ease of filling and lack of maintenance. I would give a slight advantage overall to the T3S head to head with the T2 as long as you dont mind a little maintenance and an occasional leak. I know there are ways to fix them, add wicks, rebuild, etc... but that's not me. I want to buy something and it work and for me it does, but there are definitely minor leaking issues similar to but not as bad as my experience with CE4s. This is my first non-liquid review so please, be gentle lol.

    Advice for my first mod?

I'm currently using an ego-C twist vv, and looking to upgrade to my first variable voltage mod. After asking around online and at my local vape shop, it seems everyone is pushing me towards the ZMax. After my own research, however, I find myself leaning towards the Joye eVic. I'm curious what experiences you've had with either product. My reasons for considering an upgrade really boil down to: 1. I'd like more taste & vapor, and can't help but take notice to the bellowing clouds coming out of the "big boys" I see people using. 2. I'm tired of carrying three ego batteries and multiple chargers everywhere I go. A longer usage time per charge (I'm a very heavy vaper) would make my daily life a bit easier. The smaller size of the eVic in comparison to the Zmax is very appealing. I'm on the move for most of my day, and (although I probably shouldn't) I keep my PV in my pocket at all times. I also like that the eVic can be charged without removing the battery (replacing the chargers and ego batts in my bag with a bunch of recharchables doesn't seem like a step in the right direction). Those pushing the ZMax seem to applaud its battery life, and the fact that it can be extended to accommodate two batteries at once. Valid points, but I still feel like it's far too big to schlep around in my pocket all day! Unfortunately, I haven't actually held the eVic in my hands to get a feel for it, so I'm just comparing the measurements of the two. It seems to me that both devices are similar in bells and whistles. I typically vape at ~4.2v, so it seems either mod will have the power I need. Since this is my first attempt at a mod, I don't know if there are any other variables I should be considering, or if there are any known advantages to either of these products over the other. Right now, I'm leaning heavily towards the eVic, but if those more experienced have any advice to offer, I'm all ears!

    let's see your EDC

I searched, but couldn't find this topic anywhere. I apologize if it already exists. This is my everyday carry (EDC): The small case on the left goes in my pocket. It contains: 1 x 900 mAh Vision Spinner 2 x T2 1 x T3S 1 x usb ego charger 1 x small bottle of juice The large case on the right usually stays in my car, unless it's very hot outside. It contains the following: 4 x isopropyl alcohol wipes (from first aid kit) 3 - 4 x paperclips (example: pull the center posts up when the backup batteries won't charge, NOT THE Spinners, a few other uses) 1 x usb wall charger 4 x q-tip (I moisten them with the isopropyl alcohol wipes to clean battery/charge threads) 1 x bread tie 2 x T3S replacement heads 2 x T2 replacement heads 1 x Iclear 16 replacement head 1 x iclear 16 (backup to the backups) 1 x backup usb ego charger 2 x ego 650 mAh batteries (these were my original batteries, now just backups) 1 x 2600 mAh rechargable battery pack ( used for charging cell phones. I was thinking of using it as a last resort to charge my Spinners if there was no other available power source. I'm not 100% sure how safe it is to use this for that purpose. ...maybe somebody with experience will chime in) 1 x micro usb cable (used to charge battery pack) Also pictured is a T3S on a Vision Spinner 900 that I keep attached to a lanyard. Well, that's my EDC. Now that I see it written down, I feel like it's a little overkill. ....better safe than sorry.

I like it a lot. This is my only mod with adjustable power or voltage. Veteran Vaper's price is within pennies of what I paid from China with a long shipping time. Go for it!

oh no i definitely understand that. i just wondered bc they have had reported leaking issues with easy fixes and my guess is with the threads that you lost a thread and would need to chase them to get them back. but i definitely understand the feeling of just wanting it to work no fuss no muss. i was just seeing if it was an easy fix and i could help you get them back

  20. Uma as always makes some excellent points about different mods, sorry i typically always just recommend the Provari route simply because it was the best mod i ever used/owned. i kind of have tunnel vision when it comes to recommending mods because i was always so impressed with the Provari. but i still think maybe you just need to look at different juices/delivery devices to see if that gives you the clouds you want. there's so many options with vaping it's impossible to recommend the perfect set up for someone else, and if your'e dead set on a mod i certainly won't discourage it, they have great advantages over standard batteries, just thinking that if the only reason you want a mod is to get large clouds of vapor that can be easily achieved with pretty basic gear.

    Steeping

Hard for a juicemaker to make a profit if he has to make large batches just to steep ahead, but only sells half...it's kinda like a great wine that needs an hour to breathe, only juice takes time. Frustrating yes, but would rather steep than use months old juice, because the guy does large batches, and appreciate when I'm warned that steeping is required

    Steeping

rant/ I have another opinion. Steeping is what you need to do when some sales people send you a product that isnt ready for sale but they send it anyway. I think if they sell vanilla it should be perfect when it leaves the store and gets to your door. When you open it the thing you say is "amazing" not OMG it reeks! If you ever smell a juice that isnt ready for human consumption you will wonder "why did I buy this??" They will tell you to open it and let the nasty stuff go away. They will say it will get better. How about we say "you dont get paid if and until the promise is kept for what I bought?" Never will happen. If you buy a burger it should be ready to eat. A new car should be road ready. You buy an airline ticket for a plane not tested and certified yet? No thank you! /rant off

  28. I think you would regret buying that much of one flavor .Best to get several 30 or 50 ml bottles of different flavors to switch it up. It is not that expensive .Most of us have experienced the inability to taste our favorite flavor after vaping it exclusively for too long.In addition eliquid will oxidize with exposure to air and go bad quicker .

  30. The liquid makes all the difference in the world. When it comes to liquid I have found you get what you pay for. I have ordered from over a dozen suppliers and the common theme for be at least is anything that is under 40-50cents per ml is not good and has a chemical taste. Sure there may be value places out there that this is not the case, but I haven't found one yet and have stopped wasting money trying. After all a 50ml bottle for $5 that tastes like *** is not a very good value if you can't use it.

  36. Nothing all that "epic" for me, but I have dropped mine several times where the cap of my T2 popped off and the liquid spilled out. Probably the worse was when I was trying to transfer from one bottle to the other. I order mostly 100ml bottles but they are too tall for the travel case I use, so I keep 50ml bottles and split them up for easier carrying. I was squeezing a bottle of Strawberry Fields into a 50ml bottle and I obviously was squeezing too hard and the tip shot off and about 30-40ml ended up on the counter.

Mine was when I went to unscrew my rebuildable clearo CE4 off the battery to put a new battery on and took the tank off instead, juice running all down my hands dripping onto the screen of my iPad. had a screen-protector on it, nothing happened to the iPad, but man... greasy stuff, that juice. I now double-check where I am grabbing the rebuildables every time now.

  38. To me, the KPT is the worst ranked of all the delivery devices I have tried based on taste alone. I cant review it because of how much I didn't like it, and since most everyone here loves them I am marking it up to personal taste although the person that sent it to me agrees it makes the juice taste like liquid metal. I am most likely in the vast minority and this is why I didn't mention it in this review. I was so excited when it came in the mail, and was a gift from another member and friend here. When I first loaded it with liquid I thought maybe it was just the "new" taste. Then I changed coils and alcohol-Vodka washed it and put in a new coil and the same taste was there at the same level. Its a metallic taste, probably due to the metal mouthpiece, but am going to try and trade my KPT and 10 coils for something of equal value at some point and if I cant most likely I will give it away. I offered it back to the person that gave it to me but they also feel like it gives liquid a, and I quote, "vile" metallic taste and didn't want it back. It has been sitting in a shot glass on my bar for a couple weeks now. It works, looks great, doesn't leak, and is easy to use but if you cannot stand the way it makes things taste its not really fair to review it imo.
