Will have to nitpic here PG=Propylene glycol. Also if you don't already have the addiction to smoking I don't recommend E-cig use.Why put anything in your lungs if it isn't necessary. Just my .02 I believe E-cigs are dramatically safer than tobacco but why take the chance? For most of us it's better than tobacco but only as a reduced harm alternative not as a starting place for a new habit IMHO.3 points

Battery Going "Rogue"?
Uma and 2 others reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
I am so impatient, I want my bottom feeding T3S's I ordered to be here today instead of Saturday lol. I cannot wait to compare. I have a feeling, based on the way the KPT works, that I am going to like the bottom feeders better than these top coil T2s. Maybe I can actually finish a tank of Strawberry Fields.3 points -
I agree, the way I said it was ignorant.. I could not figure out a way to say that some people would rather believe these are worse for you than real cigarettes.2 points

Before I switched from 510 type ecigs I had occasion for one of my batteries to "go Rogue"; it was an automatic and decided to stay on continously burning the Heck out of a cart/head combination and didn't stop until it had devoured itself. Next day I ordered my Vision Spinner and Protank...2 points

Battery Going "Rogue"?
Uma and one other reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Thats what I did and the qtip was black. I am used to cleaning them every time I charge them as a habit, but I must have missed this one too. As I continue to vape this I am increasingly convinced that I just so happened to blow a coil when I first fired up the freshly charged battery and thought there was something wrong. The residual taste was still on the battery when I put on the fresh tank. All is well now!2 points -
Battery Going "Rogue"?

Thanks Uma. I wasn't sure, and to be honest now everything seems fine on the tank I have on there now. Gone through about a half a ml with no more funky taste. Maybe it was just coincidence that I popped the coil on the first draw once putting it on the newly charged battery because the taste is still there on the other battery. Going to play it by ear and see what happens. I may have jumped the gun on the post, I just have never noticed any black particles floating around in my liquid but that could just be dirt as I have filled my tanks in all sorts of places and have never really examined them closely. I could have gotten something in there when I changed the coil since my "vape gear maintenance area" is very near my wifes "coffee grinding area". If it does it again its history, I have a bunch of back ups now. I am also second guessing whether it is just the taste of the coil going out and not wicking very well, gonna change that when I get home. After using the KPT a while the top feeding T2s definitely have a different sort of taste. Looking forward to getting my T3S package Saturday to try the bottomfeeders exclusively for a while.2 points -
Worst flavor you have tried?
Tam and one other reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Sheepdog that is where I am too. Now that I know what I like I am good. I have the bases covered: All Day Vapes are Spearmint and Candy Cane from VapeDudes, occasional fruit vapes are Strawberry Fields from VapeDudes and Juicy Peach from Sweet-Vapes and my one tobacco flavor (for drinking) is Traditional Tobacco from Sweet-Vapes. To be honest most of the flavors I see are those that I probably wouldnt like. All the coffees, cake batter, vanilla, and sweet flavors are not my cup of tea. I eventually want to try one of the soft drink flavors like Dr Pepper or Mtn Dew but outside those I can go through every flavor most sites have at this point and all sound kinda "meh" to me. Now I digress to say a few months from now who knows. The first time I tried Spearmint I was like OMG Thats a Menthol!!!! but after a few more vapes I realized it was almost exactly like doublemint gum lol. Our tastebuds change drastically after dumping the analogs. I even like food now I would have never liked before and do not like a lot of things I used to. I would have rather taken a punch from Mike Tyson than eat a stalk of celery when I smoked, but now, I love it in and on about everything. The last thing I expected when quitting analogs was that my taste for food and drink would change as drastically as it has.2 points -

While, I beleive it is generally polite to ask permission before vaping in public or private establishments, and especially in confined spaces, I think the public needs to be exposed to e-cigs more. We need to get out there and use our devices where people can see it and we can explain and answer questions. So many people are simply not used to seeing anyone using an electronic cigarette. I am constantly getting stares and questions when I pull out my PV and start puffing some place. They look at me like I'm from another planet.. I can understand why some may think it can have negative effects on the impression the general public has of e-cigs (and lead to bans and such) when you just whip it out and vape, but I think it also has positive effects. The general public needs to see these devices in use on a regular basis so that they can become educated and accustomed to them, and understand that it is not smoking.1 point

I have never seen the batt you linked to before. The Vision Spinners or the Joyetech Twists have a proven track record. The one you linked to appears to be an off brand. With a Protank or Vivi Nova you just fill and vape. It may take a whole 10 seconds to fill it up. No biggy. DCT's require punching cartos and they leak. DCT's are so 20121 point

You're not being held here by a chain. Persecution is the systematic mistreatment of an individual or group by another group. You are not being singled out (Or persecuted as you put it) Every member (including staff) have the same notification under their names. Myself included. You are on a forum free of charge which simply asks that you are over 18 as we discuss (and sell) products that are for use by those over 18. Same as any adult website. This helps limit our liability. We also have entities located in California and New Jersey and as such must follow their laws. Believe me, as far as e cigarette forums go, we're probably the most lax. Though we have our own store and brand, we allow other members and suppliers to promote 3rd party products in a fairly open environment. Even if it affects our bottom line. I started this forum in 2009 and have done my best to grow this company before handing over the torch with open and fairness in mind. Your statement is offensive. Persecuted? Give me a break.1 point -

Over Discharge and Mechanical Mods
Love2VapeDaily reacted to Uma for a topic
I'm no expert either. I will share what little I have learned though, if it's okay. (even if it's not ok lol). The Panasonics and eFests are good batteries, yes. I have a few eFests. I still prefer the AW-IMR's from RTDvapes. I've heard good things about the Panasonics, but have never tried them. I wouldn't know an Orbotronic from an OrtoSonic, , I have much to learn. I prefer the AW-IMR so far, combined with a ReSettable Fuse. Why? Because the IMR high drain, high amp batteries have Safe Chemistry. When used with a REsettAble Fuse, they become even safer. The IMR is high drain, can handle high amps and volts, and doesn't explode (usually) when it fails. But, of course, it can get hot enough to melt and catch things around it on fire. There is a video or two on youtube that shows the various batteries being put their fail tests. The Protected batteries are not high drain and are not safe Chemistry, but instead are a different ballgame. The Protected batteries have a Safety Fuse built right in, which is why they are longer. They fail differently, because it is not a Safe Chemistry battery. Either one should be good, as long as it is not a clone. A lot of batteries (either type, imr or protected) are ReWrapped clones, made to look like the real thing. Very sad. But, as long as you trust your vendor, you should be good to go. Trustfire was one of the first to be cloned and reWapped. But they all are subject to it now. Draining & charging the battery. All I know, is, Rechargeable batteries should be metered before and after they go on/off the charger. The Charger's that recommended are the Smart chargers, like iCore InTelli Charger and others. Never leave them on the charger when you're not there to watch for any possible mishaps. There are even protective foil envelopes to set them in while charging, or some people charge them in a surrounding of fire bricks, just to be on the safest side of safe. Charging should always be done in a safe manner. (doh lol). And a fresh off the charger battery should NOT be used. They need to sit for at least an hour before using, preferably more. The battery should never be overcharged or drained too far. If the battery charges over 4.2volts, something is wrong and the chemistry of the battery is harmed. If it is overly Drained, the chemistry of the battery has changed and is no longer safe. Either one. Usually the Over-Drained is say 3.1. (you have to read YOUR batteries specs). Most of our batteries lose oomph at 3.8 and then gradually deplete until 3.3volts. 3.3 is when they definitely go on the charger. Many like to change out the battery at 3.8 and put them on the charger at 3.8-ish. 3.0 volts is SCAREY business!! I would consider it a Tosser. 4.3 volts is a tosser. Anything above or below the recommended volts is a tosser. Using a Fuse with a Protected battery that already has a fuse? It's counter-productive. One fuse is built in with exacting sensitivities. The other fuse is a general fuse. Which raises some questions. 1. The Protected battery is long... adding a Fuse uses even more space... Which mod are you using that has so much room? Usually the mods are designed to fit one style of battery, which the Vendor will recommend using, because, well, the mod was designed around that battery. 2. If you don't trust the safety fuse that is built into your Protected battery, why haven't you switched over to a Safer Chemistry battery from a respected Safe Chemistry Battery vendor? I'm not arguing, I'm trying to understand your line of "expertise". Do you have links to resources that encourage you to use a 3.0 drained battery? Doubling up your fuses? I can find a lot of threads that counter what you are promoting here. But maybe I just don't quite understand what you are promoting.1 point -

The Halo G6 smaller batteries are this way. I was vaping like a monster but still wondering why I was not ok. It was Tam who recognized my problem as not enough battery to get a decent nic hit. They sell because they look like a cig. The iTaste VV/vw I sport looks like an electric tooth brush! I-dont-care! It gives me a decent hit at 800mah. The litle batteries are mini and mini in mili amp hours also. Not really a good fit for anyone for long terem control of tobacco.1 point -

The eGo by Joye (not the clone eGo's), has a warranty of 6 months, because they are so well engineered. They often go over their time span, lasting a good year. The Riva's are a good clone of eGo Joye, but lack the sophistication to guarantee a warranted time. They last anywhere from a week to a year. It's a roulette wheel, but most of them do last at least 6 months. There are clone brands out there called eGo that are not made by Joye, and are nothing like the original or the Riva. The Vamo is pretty nice for an introductory VV/VW mod. It is big, but you can have fun wrapping with Jwraps, to lessen the size shock and increase the fun. I don't like them, but that's a personal preference. Most of the users have become great fans of them for this reason or that. Expect a few good months of trouble free usage out of them, but read the various Vamo threads and watch the various vamo videos to learn what problems to expect, and how to fix them. The Vision Spinner and eGo Twist are good small VV pv's that most of us old timers like to use, cart around and have in our backup piles. They're pretty nice all the way around. Can't go too much wrong with either one. The Spinner is best for older eyes, because the dial readout is larger. The main thing is to get the one that catches YOUR fancy, enjoy it, and browse for other ones while you're relaxed and not pressed. Get a feel for what you might like in your replacement, research it while you're relaxed, and plan from there. There are tons of them out there on the market today. The iTasteVV v3 might be a good one for you. It's light, but still has VV and VW both. It's also a passthrough type pv, meaning you can vape it while it's charging in the wall socket. The menu is easy to use too. (I like the itaste much more than the vamo, personally, but that's just my own personal preference and I haven't had it long enough to learn it's weaknesses and quirks or lifespan).1 point

She said 8 to 10 hours before having to recharge it, and I miss understood her. On the very first battery I got she said it had to die completely before recharging it, but on the passthrough it can be charged at anytime. I went in today and showed Wendy the button sticking issue and she gave me a new RIVA passthrough. The Vapor Bar is a good store and good people work there, I recommend going there if you are in the McKinney area. Ask for Wendy.1 point -

Once or twice, yes. My batteries charge differently on different wall sockets. I don't know why, but they do. I would remove the tank, press the button over and over, as if you're vaping, until the freshness is wore off. I don't know if your battery is chronically injured or not, you'll have to decide that for yourself and either keep it or toss it if it vapes correctly after the freshness is wore off. If it happens again, toss it. (in a safety bucket/can for batteries until you can drop it off at RadioShack or wherever). Maybe toss it this time. I really don't know.1 point

Exposing the Public to E-cigs - A good Thing
Uma reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
I agree, and so does my sons pediatrician and our family physician. I use mine in public a lot the same way as I did when I smoked analogs. I do not want to make others uncomfortable, so usually if I am in a non smoking establishment I will go to the bathroom to do it unless it is a setting where I feel comfortable enough to ask about it. Several local bars and restaurants in my city that are non smoking actually have signs now that say "No Smoking" (E-Cigs allowed).1 point -
I agree that people should be educated on the differences between vaping and smoking. But I'm not so sure that flaunting it to a wide general public, which is essentially promoting it, is good idea, IMO I, personally, would only recommend vaping to someone as an alternative to getting off analogs. I would not encourage anyone to take up vaping who isn't already a smoker. As much as I love vaping and am so happy to be off the analogs, I don't think advertising it or flaunting it to a non smoking public is the way to go. I'm not saying we have to hide it or be ashamed of it. But it is primarily a drug delivery system. I just think I'd rather not push it on others. Educate them where needed. No doubt, it's healthier than smoking. But there is a difference between "healthier than" and something being healthy. I personally cannot call vaping "healthy" and therefore promote it as such. Promote it to smokers, sure. Promote to the general public, not the best idea IMO. I am commenting on your topic Arnie1 point

Riva's are a clone of the original eGo, more affordable but not near as well made. Vaping for 6 hours is normal between charges, unless it's a large battery, then you should be getting anywhere from 6-10 hours. (hard to pinpoint when we all vape so differently). The sticky button is unfortunately the most common complaint with the Riva's. I would exchange it right away. They should know about the button and be more than prepared for it. When you can afford it, (which happens overnight once you realize you have enough flavors, attys, and batteries and you don't need to buy any more smokes either), I would invest in the eGo Twist or the Vision Spinner either one. That's not saying they don't have occasional quirksr, but your chances of not getting any are better. The original eGo's will last a good 6 months before needing replacement, but don't be surprised when you're still vaping them a year or more later. Sorry you're having problems, that really sux. (but that's life, even in the world of vaping. Fortunately, the Vendors and posters usually more than make up for it).1 point
