  3. Hello... I'm Ken... I chewed a can of chew a day for roughly 20 years. I started the e-cig movement just a few days ago... Friday to be exact. I don't know why I resisted the movement as long as I did, for my mother in law is an employee at a head shop that sells e-cigs... I guess I was just too stupid to know better. So far, it's been three days. I'm loving every moment of the change. It's much cleaner and much more fun. I vape the Deluxe E-Cig liquid usually, since that's what I can buy. Tonight I mixed up a tobacco, menthol, cigar blend that is treating me alright! I'm here to find out more about this great hobby! Ken

How to fix a leaky T3

Thanks for posting this, Uma. I have a T3 that goes totally unused because it's leaked straight out of the box and I'm sure this is why. Come to think of it, I have a T2 that floods easily. Haven't had that problem with them usually, but adding a flavor wick might fix that one. The video is a little long, but I liked that it was a good over view of the construction of the Kanger Clearomizer, using a 4-40 machine screw for forming a coil is brilliant, and adding a flavor wick to minimize leaking and flooding through coil is also cool. I learned a lot from this video.

Glad it helped! Yes, it's a way bit long, but all the info is worth the watch, and he painstakingly makes sure no beats are missed. Very nice video indeed.

  14. I agree with this. Sounds like you need to go to a set up where you can customize your juice mixture. You may have sensitivity to pg. You can use a juice with a higher vg content but keep the nicotine up and that may work for you.

  15. After almost three months, even if it were proven analogs and ecigs were identical health risks I would still continue to vape over analogs. I wish I could say I understand, but for me vaping is far more satisfying, calming, and pretty sure I get more nicotine now than before just not all the other garbage. I struggle however with calling my switch to vaping "quitting smoking" but rather a switch to a much healthier alternative I prefer anyway.

  18. You're absolutely right, Uma!! Though, the AGA-T series' negative post is too close to make this tip effective. Though, the washer trick on the positive post drastically helps with the hotspots. Other mods I will be trying soon enough will be to replace the positive post with a brass one to shave off an extra 0.1 ohm, and (provided I can find a small enough drill bit) to drill out a vent to aid in wicking without having to remove the fill plug, and risk leaking. Which brings me to one more addendum: Increased vapor production requires more juice flow. So, make sure your wick can keep up. Otherwise, you'll experience the dry-hit to end all dry-hits.

Where Can I Get Some Pluid?

From what I gather Vapingwatch will be his only US distributer http://www.vapingwatch.com/eliquid , They are sold out. other places Ive read that Liberty Flights UK will be the only distributer http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=200

    Mixing ratios

There are a myriad of e-liquid calculators out there. A quick Google search should bring up some very good ones from the most basic, to ones that are entirely customizable. There are also a ton of smartphone apps, making DIY convenient when unable to access the internet. I recently started DIY-ing, and use an app called "e-Liquid Recipe Manager" by Composed Chaos. This app has thought of practically everything!!! Completely customizable, easy to use, and allows storage of recipes and individual ingredients for easy access when creating new juices. Good luck in your venture, and happy vaping!!!

    I DID IT!

Right on!!! +1 what Rixter just said. The better your coils get, the better the flavor. The biggest joy is, like you said, being self reliant when it comes to your vaping habit. Heck with customs, fda, senator antz, or taxes. WTG!!! Be sure your airhole is lined up with your wick, and when you vape, make sure the airhole is facing either the floor (for SS mesh RBA's), and anywhere you discover it's a good place to be without leaking but still get a good wet hit, with the RDA's. (take note of where the airhole is when you get that perfect vape). Welcome to the whole new world of self reliant vaping. Between your DIY mixes and your DIY atty, ... all that's left is your DIY mod. (you're on your own there, I still need to learn how lol)

  26. i got a 2.3 ohm coil with a 5/4 wrap! its actually pretty neat. i had a hotspot right on the negative post and i just moved it a little bit and it was perfectly fine. it fired with no problems and i actually got a pretty good vape out of it. i am interested in the SS wicks though... so i will have to place a few orders for that and some extra Kanthal wire
    1 point
  27. I get a 1.7Ω coil with a 5/4 wrap of 32g Kanthal around a 2mm SS wick. Your silica wick may take a few more wraps on the coil because it's probably a little bit smaller in diameter once wrapped than 2mm.
    1 point
  28. Yeah, since I started doing it this way, I've yet to encounter a single hot spot...once the negative screw in snug, you're good to go.
    1 point
  29. it actually came with some 32g wire and a silica wick. so... with 32g wire.... i need to do like 4-5 wraps for a 2.2 ohm coil right?
    1 point
  30. Yeah...you're gonna want to get Kanthal or Nichrome resistance wire. I like 32 gauge for SS wicks on RBAs, but most folks use Nichrome on silica wicked devices. Since I don't have any experience with silica wicks yet, I can't really steer you in the right direction for the proper gauge of Nichrome resistance wire to use. I'm sure that if you start a post asking that question, you'll get an answer pretty fast, though.

  31. Avid reader here too. Mostly mystery action novels. Clancey, Patterson, etc.. but I enjoy all forms. Hey Mark! If you only read Non-fiction, how will you ever learn what NOT to do when you're faced with a monster of whatever magnitude? Top 10 lessons learned from scarey novels: 1. Never look back while you're running, or you will trip over something. 2. Never say "Who's there?" as you're sneaking around looking for whoever is there. 3. Oh crap, I forgot...

  32. nice deal! glad you found somewhere you could replace the clearo's at!

  33. Vg generally gives you more vapor, pg is usually more throat hit and nicotine level impacts throat hit marginally. Example I have some 50/50 mixes that should be smoother than some of my 70/30 pg/vg mixes but the 50/50 mix has a higher nicotine content so it still packs more throat hit.alot of 70/30 mixes I have produce just as much vapor as my 50/50 mixes. But the pro tank produces tons of vapor compared to any clearo I have used regardless of the pg content. It just comes down to trial and error on what you like. I agree with bcarter start with 24mg nicotine. I smoked almost 2 packs a day of newports menthol and the 16-18 mg left me feeling like I was missing something. Now I'm down to around 12mg but occasionally I still grab some 24mg juice. I do own a 1300mah battery and usually it lasts me around 3 days before it needs charging. My 650mah only goes for around 24 hrs but its variable voltage and I use it above 4 volts. You are doing the right thing by asking questions. 1 thing I guarantee once you start vaping you won't look back at stinkies and remember happy vaping

  34. I have had issues with CE4s leaking in my case. CE4s are fine, but next order I suggest trying a Kanger T2 also known as Ego CC Long Wick Clearomizer on many sites. I have never had one leak at any point and other than one Kanger Pro Tank I use at home they are the only thing I use any more. I started with CE4s, they work ok but tended to flood with liquid and all leaked at some point. The T2 is much easier to fill, holds 2.4ml, and you can replace the coil and wicks when they go bad for around $2 and the unit itself with a wick in it is $4.39 at Veteran Vaper in the Marketplace here. I have a couple dozen of them.

    Small question....

It's all good army. we all had to learn them at some point. In the new member forum there is a sticky that has ecig jargon for those of us who don't understand the terminology with explanations of each term in very easy to understand words.

  36. Big Tobacco controls a lot of this, and until they either 1. Control the sale of vaping gear and liquids and profit from it 2. Get it completely banned They will spend millions to push us back toward their products. Sad but true, and we live in anything but a free country. Going to not get long winded about this, but between 2002 and 2010 I earned about 30% of my annual income as an online poker pro. I played anywhere from 2000-2500 tournaments a month and made and extra $25-$30k per year from such. In 2006 Senator Bill Frist and a key group of senators stuffed a non-debated non-discussed clause (UIGEA Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) into a "Safe Ports Bill" that they passed at midnight on the last day of the session. For several years everything went on as normal until what we deem as "Black Friday" then the US DOJ decided to freeze them assets of most major poker rooms. They immediately stopped allowing US players and made it difficult to cash out on some sites and impossible on others. It was a travesty, since online poker has absolutely 0 to do with "safe ports" and no one could withstand in an election year to have a vote against safe ports on their voting record. I lost about $5500 total in the debacle, and worse than that no longer had that income stream. I paid my taxes, reported all winnings offset by losses. It hurts to pay an insane amount of taxes, about 34% adjusted for my bracket, and have them tell me what I can and cannot do with the money I earn. Of course I can go over to the convenience store across the street and buy lottery tickets with every penny I have on pure chance, but a game of skill is too harmful. I could stand there and scratch them off with all the others that go the day they get their government check and hang out until all my money is gone just like they do. But I cannot play online poker with the taxed income I legally earned in the privacy of my own home. I have to go to a casino, away from my family, and sit bored getting 15-20 hands per hour where online it was more like 350-400 hands an hour playing 12-16 tables. Bottom line is when someone refers to this as a free country, I have to laugh a little inside. It is nothing close to free. / rant

  37. Yeah i know Newport owns Blu, and it's not that i feel great about supporting big tobacco, but lets be honest here, how else would they have gotten all the money for the advertising? How else would e cigs be pushed out into the open in front of consumers had Lorriilard not stepped in? I'm not excusing bt for everything they've done, but, maybe in their quest for a profit they're actually helping us out? Just a thought.
