I second the "mastering the art of the draw" comment. When I started I woudl take a hard drag, inhale, take another, inhale, and another, inhale and hold it like i was smoking "something else". Then I found a longer solid slow draw held in my mouth for a bit then inhaled produced the throat hit I was looking for. I also agree the Nic % is something to nail down. I use 24mg right now, and do not see backing that down any time soon. I also prefer more PG than VG because I like a god throat hit. Another piece of advise is to not get too married to one flavor because you will stop tasting it after a while and when we quit smoking our tastes change. Flavors I loved at first are now just "ok" and flavors I wasn't crazy about are now my favorites. Its an evolution type thing for me, I am thoroughly enjoying vaping now more than ever, because the guesswork is over. I know what set up I like, and have found 4-5 liquids I can vape all day. I do not see myself ever progressing to a "Mod" or anything like that as long as my batteries are replaceable once they wear out in a year or so. Ego style batteries should last around 300 charges, and I get around 24-36 hours between charges and rotate batteries. By my math my batteries should all last between 1.5 and 2 years.2 points -

New version 12.2.0.0 has been released! Red warning text added for PG and VG when ratios are indicating a minus amount. There has always been a pop-up warning but I felt an additional warning was needed for the few that have disregarded the pop-up warnings. New recipes also added. If you have it installed already, setup will do an update only. Download at: http://ejuice.breaktru.com1 point -
Sometime the vets on the forums tend to use terms and slag for some of the most common items, methods and hardware for vaping. This is not the ultimate guide but should make some of the terms a little clearer. (I hope)... Basic Jargon Vapor - Vapor is the substance exhaled when using an electronic cigarette which may look similar to cigarette smoke. Vaping - The act of using an Electronic Cigarette (as opposed to "smoking", as the device creates a vapor rather than smoke). Vape - Used often in place of the word smoke. I vape, I'm vaping. Batt - Battery. Atty - Electronic component that turns the eJuice into vapor. Cartridge or Cart - The part of a three piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled. Cartomizer or Carto - The part of a two piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled. Analog - Traditional tobacco cigarette. DIY - Do It Yourself. Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge. Drip Tip or DT - A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer. Mod - Modified (custom built) e-cigarette. TH - Throat Hit a strong feeling in the back of the throat when vaping. Primer Puff - A short, quick mouth inhale on the electronic cigarette similar to the action when smoking a pipe or cigar. This heats up the atomizer before a full draw. PV or Personal Vaporiser - An electronic cigarette. Some prefer to use this term as the word 'cigarette' has a lot of negative connotations associated with it that do not apply to PVs. PCC - Personal Charging Case / Portable Charger Case. Passthrough or PT - A USB adapter for the Electronic Cigarette which screws onto the atomizer like a battery, but draws power from a USB port. E-Liquid / E-Juice E-Liquid / E-Juice - A Flavored or unflavored liquid for use in an electronic cigarette, usually (but not always) containing nicotine. VG - Vegetable Glycerin PG - Propylene Glycol PEG - Propylethylene Glycol PGA - Pure Grain Alcohol NPG - Not containing Propylene Glycol. Sometimes used as a synonym to Vegetable Glycerin. Nic - Nicotine Cartridge Related Filler - The clump of fibers that hold the liquid in the cartridge. Stuffing - Another term for filler. BFM - Blue Foam Mod. (cart filler material) Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge. Dry Smoking - Same thing as dripping, referring to the fact that the cartridge us usually not filled, therefore dry. Tailpiping - Vaping directly from the atomizer without using a mouthpiece/cartridge. Drip Tip or DT A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer. Topping Up/Off - To add a few drops of liquid to a partially used cartridge to prolong its use. Measurements LR - Low Resistance HV - High Voltage (typically a 5 or 6 volt ecigarette) IMR - A battery with lower internal resistance and a high discharge rate, good for high drain applications like ecigarettes. in - inch (also abbreviated ") (1 inch = 25.4 mm) mm - millimeter (1 mm = 0.039 inch) cm - centimeter (1 cm = 0.394 inch) oz - ounce (1 fluid oz = 29.5 ml) ml - milliliter (1 ml = 0.034 fluid ounce) cc - cubic centimeter (1 cc = 1 ml) mg - milligram (often used as measure of nicotine per ml of eliquid) mA - milliamp (often used as a measure of available power) mAh - milliamp hour (often used as a measure of battery capacity/duration Forum Phrases PM - Private Message Troll - Somebody who makes a statement with the intention of annoying or angering other posters. This person usually ends up banned.1 point

I live in a tiny town in southeast kansas. Its my wifes home town. I grew up in atlanta georgia. The vape stores around us sell ego batteries but everything else are knockoffs. Maybe if these rednecks could put down the dip and analogs they would start vaping. I'm always asked what that is I'm taking a drag off. I explain it and they appear fascinated but yet no one grabs a pv. They can justify dropping 30k for a tractor but not 50 bucks to start vaping and better their health. My kids appreciate me not smoking analogs anymore though.1 point -

I live in a large metropolitan area and I don't run in to many vapers in my travels except for the occasional stop at a vape store (there are 3 fairly near by) which always seem to be packed with people. I have referred quite a number of people to vaping and most are sticking with it and I see them regularly. My wife and I have personally gotten about 8 - 10 people to quit smoking in the last 2 months and they love it. It's a huge success for us. I'm looking forward to it being more common and it seems to be headed that way.1 point -

As far as tobacco goes, I have found FOR ME, the only one close to the real thing is "Traditional Tobacco" from sweet-vapes.com. I order it in 80-20 24mg. The American Standard from VapeDudes has a strooooong Maple Taste to it, and I am not a fan of their Classic Tobacco either. The only flavors I do not get from VapeDudes are Tobacco flavors and have found that Sweet-Vapes.com and their line of "Signature Tobacco" and especially their "Traditional Tobacco" is as close as it gets. For me the flavors I have in rotation are Spearmint VapeDudes 70-30 24mg (I never once smoked a menthol, but the Spearmint tastes almost exactly like double-mint gum and I love it, has become an all day vape for me) Strawberry Fields VapeDudes 70-30 24mg Juicy Peach 80-20 24mg from sweet-vapes.com Traditional Tobacco 80-20 24mg from sweet-vapes.com Just ordered 50ml of Blue Honey and Candy Cane (peppermint) from VapeDudes that shipped today, looking forward to trying those Just a note, when I found the tobacco I liked I thought I was in heaven. Then as time passed I have found I am not fond of the flavor of tobacco as an every day vape. I reserve that flavor for when I am drinking beer or liquor and really want a smoke. It works, and for me is the closest thing I have tried but I would branch out and try different things.1 point -

Batteries
Patricia reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
My 1000mah EgoT batteries last about 24-36 hours and my 1300mah Spinners last about the same since i am using a somewhat higher voltage on those. I always wait until mine is fully dead to recharge although I remember reading the Lithium Ion batteries do not develop a memory. The way I do it now it is hard to tell though because I simultaneously use two now. My Spearmint, Strawberry Fields, and Peach I use the 1000mah standard batteries and for my Tobacco and Coffee flavors I use the Spinners. I usually have both loaded and switch between them. Seems like I am charging about every 3rd or 4th day this way, and still have one of each fully charged in my case when the other dies. Having 4 batteries really takes the charging pressure off. My wife has the same kit so basically it is like having 8 batteries but again, with as long as these things last I never have had more than one dead at the same time because I have chargers everywhere. One for the boat, one for the car, 2 at home, and my wife and I both keep one at work lol.1 point -

TVR: The Vapor Room. They sell good juice and have good customer service. Just be sure to read the home page and follow the instructions on how to make your first order. They give you a 15 ml bottle of free juice for your first order and always let you choose a flavor for the sample for each order you make.1 point -

Looks like you've gotten a lot of really good information and suggestions. My personal preference as well as a recommendation would be to go with the Vision Spinner. Even though I do have the 1300 mAh, I prefer the 900 mAh Spinner as it's thinner (diameter-wise) than the 1300. The 1300 is also heavier. As for PG/VG ratios there are many places out there that sell juices in 5 ml amounts. EC Blends, my personal favorite, has them for $2.99 each so you can try all kinds of different flavors and different ratios. more VG = more vapor, a little sweeter flavor (usually), and less throat hit (smoother vape). It's also thicker so be aware of that when you're filling up a cartomizer or clearomizer/tank more PG = more flavor, harder throat hit, thinner juice (but it could mean less vapor) I'd start out with a 50/50 mix and go from there. Good luck! And don't be afraid to ask questions. As you've probably noticed...you'll get more answers than you wanted.1 point

where do you vape?
LavenderWoman100 reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Everywhere and anywhere. My productivity at work is far higher since my "smoke break" consists of me grabbing my PV and hitting the button. So far I have vaped in a hospital room with the permission of my cardiologist, in my office at work, in bathrooms at restaurants and on an airplane, in our "non smoking" condo at the beach, all places I would have to go outside before. I also stop at the store a LOT less. The thing I love the most beyond that are the "Man you smell a lot better" and my boss commented my office now smells like scented candles instead of an ash tray.1 point -
Welcome to VaporTalk, Smokeless! Man oh man, how I love your Avatar. My heart jumped the moon when I saw it. It is the spitting image of my beautiful mare who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge last year. If there's a way to steal your avatar for my desktop, I'd do it. You've acquired some great answers, I agree with them all. If you need more oooooomph, pick up the Vision Spinner... you can vape it at the mild 3.7 or dial it up in power to 4.8 punch... most of us vape it at 3.8 to 4.2 area for most juices). It's a great battery. (get 2, so you can charge one while vaping one). The PG or VG? I would get one of each and see which one you like the most or the one that likes you the most. I like the 80/20 mix (pg/vg) because I'm more of a flavor nut than a vapor nut. Yet, most of my flavors are 50/50 go figure. But, by having my favorite flavor in straight pg and also in straight vg, all I have to do is mix the missing one into my bottle. (I get them in the same nic strength too, so that I don't dilute my nic dosage). I also like to have it in Zero nic, so that I CAN dilute my nicotine dosage when wanted or needed. If that's a mouthful up there, which I'm sure it is, then I'll sum it up like this: 80/20 or 70/30 (heavier on the PG) is a good way to get started.1 point

Hi
smokeless2013 reacted to CascadianExotics for a topic
Great analogy!!!! I'm a bit like that caterpillar, myself. Let me break this down for you. Theoretically, more VG=more vapor. However, you can get little vapor from 100% VG juice, and conversely get a ton of vapor from high % PG....all by using the right (or wrong) combination of equipment. Vapor is made by heating e-liquid, and drawing air across the heating element. Thus, more heat + more air flow = more vapor. Heat is produced by sending electrical power to a coil of resistance wire. More power does not necessarily mean more heat. 5 volts (the maximum a Spinner will put out) across a 3 ohm (standard resistance) coil will only produce around 7 watts of power. However, a fully charged Mod battery (4.2 volts) across a 0.8 ohm coil will produce over 22 watts of power!!!! This power is all for naught if you do not have the proper air flow. More power means you need a more airy draw on order to take advantage of the heat produced. What this means for you is this: If you get a standard eGo (3.5 volts) with a Low-Resistance cartomizer (1.5 ohms), and learn to properly draw off that setup, you will produce a ton of vapor in no time flat!!! Hope this wasn't too confusing for you. :p1 point -

The cartomizers on the stick batteries always leaked on me when I first started before finding better options. That was what led me to this forum in the first place. I have never gotten liquid in my mouth with my Kanger T2 Ego CC longwick Clearomizers from The Veteran Vaper. The keys are Battery (I prefer Ego Style over everything else, get at least 1000mah or Spinner 1300mah) Delivery System (I prefer Kanger T2 for ease and cost of replacement heads) Liquid (VapeDudes is my #1, Sweet-Vapes #2, no #3 as of yet) Charger (Kits come with one but you can buy separate for about $10) Its that simple. It is easy to make it complicated and tough but once you break it down to the basics it is not that complicated at all.1 point -
Hi
Tam reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Welcome! I think you will find vaping exponentially cheaper than smoking cigs, at least I have. My weekly expense has gone from $150 a week to around $30 for the wife and I. Once you buy your starter kit, a couple extra batteries, and find the delivery device (clearomizer, atomizer, tank, etc...) all that is left are replacement coils and liquids. Just take the time and spend the money to get decent equipment, thats the biggest mistake I see people make; myself included at first. My start up kit was from VapeDudes.com and was their eGoT starter kit with 2 1000mah batteries each fitted with a CE4 clearomizer, charger with wall adapter, and 3 bottles of liquid for $38.95. Then I bought 2 Vision Spinner 1300mah from Sweet-Vapes.com for $24.95 each and added an extra wall charger for $10 with wall adapter. I have found I like the Kanger T2 (Ego CC long wick clearomizer) the best and have found veteranvaper.com to be my top source for these. They are around $5 each and replacement heads are $2 each when you order 10 or more. VapeDudes is my go to liquid supplier however Sweet-Vapes also has some good flavors including the best tobacco out there imo, in their "Traditional Tobacco". So basically I got 4 batteries, 2 chargers, 10 clearomizers and 10 replacement heads for around the same cost as a week of smoking, and these will last me probably a year or more. All I buy now is liquid. There are a lot of ways to justify smoking over vaping, but cost is not one of them in my opinion.1 point -
CE5 help please.
Tam reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
Not something I have ever seen or used but that doesn't mean a lot. I have found the Kanger T2 to be my delivery system of choice, havent had any luck out of the CE4s and have used both V2 and V3. I am sure Vision is overall a good company, but there are way too many knock offs and cheap reproductions out there. In my opinion the best way to save money is to buy name brand products from reputable sources and for clearomizers and hardware I haven't found any better than Brian at The Veteran Vaper. There is a reason his CE4s are ~$5 and other sites can sell them for $1-$2 each. Have you tried the Kanger T2 yet? Also called the Ego CC Longwick Clearomizer.1 point -

On 2 of my 3 ego batteries, I have the same problem. This may not be your problem but mine was that the center post on the battery gets pushed in, and if it goes too far in, it won't make contact with the charger when screwed in. What I do is take a small screwdriver or a knife and kind of pry the post up abit.1 point
