Well there's good news..... After a few adjustments, mainly smaller hits and a little break in period he's doing fine. He thinks it was just the initial abrupt change from smoke to vape. After playing with it on his own it took him a couple of days to get it going. The other day he just showed up happily vaping away like it was nothing. I'm glad he just kept going. Now he's doing fine and is on the hunt for his favorite juice, lol. All is good...2 points

Very true guys!! Our tastebuds are so individualized and so ever changing, that the word "subjective" honestly isn't strong or fitting enough. Newbies don't understand this, of course, and I was one of them once upon a time. I mean, come on, it's either good or it's not. WRONG. It's usually both lol. Good today, awful in 3 months, then visa-versa, and then visa-versa again & again! Perfumey taste? I never ever dealt with perfumey tastes my first year of vaping, but during my second year I tasted quite a few! Come to find out, those are the ones that need to steep for a few weeks to a few years... depends on how my tastebuds are reacting lol... I used to love recommending juices, and not I cower. I cower, because I can't handle it when someone knocks a juice I am/was/ madly in love with and recommended to them. I get defensive lol. Especially when they refuse to let it steep to try again later. Dont' they understand??? Don't they get it?? They're missing out on the best ever by being so quick to toss. I'm being downright, SILLY!!!!! I know!!! But, none-the-less, Silly Are I. and then, I go and do the same thing.... with a new to me brand or flavor that to me is OMGAWFUL.... :facepalm:2 points -

New version 12.2.0.0 has been released! Red warning text added for PG and VG when ratios are indicating a minus amount. There has always been a pop-up warning but I felt an additional warning was needed for the few that have disregarded the pop-up warnings. New recipes also added. If you have it installed already, setup will do an update only. Download at: http://ejuice.breaktru.com1 point -
Herro everyone. I've always wondered if they had forums for vapers and I'm glad I found this place by accident. I first started vaping about a year or two ago with those cheap cigarette looking ones which didn't cut it for me. Recently I bought an eGo (the one that tells you how many hits you took and battery life) and it has worked wonders for me. Anyways, I'm glad to be a vaper and not a smoker anymore.1 point

Pre Filled Cartomizers
Uma reacted to toddbrennan for a topic
I bet you are making the same mistake I made in the beginning. Most of those prefilled cartos have a little silicone ring on top of the filling material. Once I realized that (mine was a BLU) I just also popped out the little ring, and then the juice absorbed nicely1 point -

Hi all, It is time for me to order some new batteries and I was hoping you could give me some suggestions on what type of battery would be the best for someone who vapes like me. The last time I bought the eGo twister and the Vision Spinner and both were great batteries. However, I never used the voltage adjustment option. I just kept it cut as high as it would go. So since these kind of batteries, the adjustable kind, cost a lot more just for the adjustment option I should not go that route. So, with that in mind what would be a good battery for me? I would want one that goes as high/hot as the adjustable ones did. I don't know if it makes a difference but I am using the Viva Nova tank ( I've got to order more wicks for that also). I'm a girl so of course I like pretty ones. Also, cost is important. Where is an economical place to purchase batteries? No shipping charge would be a plus. Also, this being Fathers Day weekend, does anyone know of any place that has any good Fathers Day specials? Thanks a bunch for any suggestions and HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the great fathers out there!1 point

What type of battery would be better for me?
Patricia reacted to CascadianExotics for a topic
MCVapes on YouTube recently put up a two-part tutorial on getting big vapor. Even though he's gearing the video more for rebuildables, the principles are still the same. 1) Lower resistance = hotter coil 2) More air moving over hotter coil = more vapor In short, if you can figure out how to get a more airy draw off your current device (maybe use a slightly modified 510 to 510 adapter), and its resistance is in the 1.5 to 2 ohm range, you can get decent clouds off a standard eGo. If on a Twist / Spinner, you can also run more voltage until you find a balance that puts out the vapor you want without burning up the coil. May not fill the room like a mechanical mod running a .5 ohm dual coil RBA setup with a 1/8" air hole.....but, you'll get some good vapor for sure!!!1 point -

Big volts has little to do with how much vapor you get. That's more along the lines of how much VG is in your e-liquid. You want more vapor? Go with a higher VG level. More throat hit? Higher PG and/or nicotine. I'm not sure but it could also be that you're using too high a voltage, which could be hindering your set up from giving you the best your battery and clearomizer can produce. Also, too much VG in a juice could clog your clearomizer's wicks as more VG also means thicker juices that don't wick as well (usually). I get plenty of vapor (as in sometimes I feel like I'm sitting in a cloud of it) with 50 VG/50 PG, and enough throat hit with 12 mg of nicotine although you may want to go with 24 mg for a stronger throat hit. Give it a try at around 4 volts and see if that works for you.1 point

I'm glad this thread came back around! I've been wondering how ninjabatgirl's baby beardies have been doing. I got a new addition to my turtle family recently. I now have a 4 - 5 year old Russian Tortoise. He's beautiful! Since he can live up to 60 years, I have been calling my daughter his godmother!1 point

Tameiki's statement that your taste buds will change in time is pretty dead on. More true to those who've recently quit analogs, as it takes quite a while for your taste buds (and sense of smell....remember, those two senses are endemic to each other) to return to normal. Before I started vaping, I tried a buddy's juice from a vendor who's name I won't drop. It tasted ok to me at the time. But, about 2 or 3 months after starting to vape, I tried it again. After all, it was his FAVORITE that he just ranted and raved about....I had to try it!!! However, this time it had this musty quality to it that I couldn't quite explain. Of course I didn't "know what I was talking about," according to him. But, the big difference between the two of us is that I gave up tobacco completely, while he was still smoking a few cigs every day. Now that I've been vaping for five months solid, I've tried a few things I liked in the beginning, and really can't stand the taste of them any longer. Though, now that my senses have improved some, I'm finding a whole new world of flavors that I may not have liked to start with.1 point -
Hey I didnt know this thread existed! I am a huge herp enthusiast! I was a partner in a wholesale herp supply company in my younger days called Mid South Herpetological Supply and have had about every non venomous and many venomous species available in the pet trade. Currently I am out of the trade but everyone in town knows me and my son has the bug too. He is 8 years old. He currently has an Amelanistic Corn Snake, a Piebald Ball Python, an albino tangerine Honduran Milk, and an ornate Box Turtle. All were the result of rescue. Animal Control knows me and has me on speed dial when an exotic is abandoned in apartments, dorms, and rental houses-foreclosures and I take them, ensure they are healthy and eating, and re-home them. In the last year we have relocated over 50 specimens of variousherps. A lot of bearded dragons, Ball and Burmese pythons, and corn snakes (kinda boring standard stuff) but included was also a 4' albino eastern diamondback, a 5' albino monacled cobra, and a gaboon viper all illegally owned. I let my venomous certification expire at the end of last year just because I do not want to take those risks any more but I know the people at a somewhat local herp zoo-venom extraction facility and I utilize them now when there is a venomous species involved. All venomous species are now housed at Kentucky Reptile Zoo and are part of the venom extraction program. You might follow them on Facebook, very good people. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kentucky-Reptile-Zoo/282054578695?fref=ts Just thought I would share. The ones we kept are those my son absolutely fell in love with, especially his Piebald Ball Python named Burt, except the HUGE 5.5' Amelanistic Corn Snake that has the nastiest attitude of any Colubrid I have ever had. I figured it best he stay with me, plus he is fun and puts on quite the show for friends and guests lol.1 point

What type of battery would be better for me?
Patricia reacted to CascadianExotics for a topic
Like you, Patricia, the Twist I had burned out on me with a quickness. I got the stupid thing in late January / early February, and never saw much difference between the voltages. So, I left it at 4.8 and used it primarily for a standard resistance drip atty. Subsequently, it burned out in less than a month. (Could it also be that this cheap Chinese crap is....well.....crap to begin with??) Just because you like keeping things simple (much like myself), does not mean that your options are entirely limited. First, you could go with a standard eGo and low-resistance head / carto / whatever. Super compact, lots of colors to choose from, and fairly inexpensive, yet durable. (Hey, I still use my eGo setup....that thing is solid!!!) Next, you could get a mod of some sort. This option does require some research, but it opens up the possibilities. For example: since you like simplicity, get a mod with variable wattage (vamo, z-max, etc.), and figure out what setting works best for you, and that mod will deliver that wattage no matter what device you put on it (within the mod's amp limitation, of course). Or, you could get a simple electrical mod (silver bullet, or bolt) and a Kick. Set your watts, and vape away. If you don't like the color or finish options, you could go to J-Wraps (forgot the link....derp), and put a skin on your mod. Finally, there's the option of getting a mechanical mod and rebuildable atomizer.....but, this option requires a ton of research and patience beforehand, and is definitely not for everyone. But, I include the option for sake of being thorough. (Who knows.....maybe it actually will pique your interest rather than frighten and intimidate, like it does to most Vapers) Good luck in your search!!!1 point -

I've only been a couple weeks not smoking , but my "chronic" cough has stopped, I'm not wheezing at all, I'm able to go up and down stairs without getting out of breath, and it's definitely a noticeble and noteable difference... I'm loving this ! Keep trying with your friend! I like what one comment was that the COPD patients are not going back !!!! NICE !1 point

Sounds like you have a lot of negative, and toxic people in your life. Sorry for being blunt, but its no wonder you cannot quit with your loved ones tearing you down when they should be supporting you during this endeavor. Even though you cannot get rid of these people in your life (coming from a toxic family myself, I do understand), you do possess the power to block them out. Do not verbally engage, because you can't win with these types of people. If there is one thing I've learned from a lifetime of dealing with my own addictions, demons, and negative people, it is that this is something that had to be done on YOUR terms. And remember, above all else, remind yourself that YOU are worth it and are doing this for YOUR own benefit...not anybody else's. As for how I quit.... Personally, I switched over to Vaping the second my first kit arrived in the mail. Like you, I never smoked more than a pack a day, so I started with 24mg for the first week (which made me hella sick). Then went right to 12, and have stayed there until recently acquiring a Genesis atty (those things will knock you for a loop when properly set up, LOL). I've also had a good group of friends around me who encourage rather than tear down....unlike my family. And, I've had this forum, and all the good people here. The membership here has helped numerous people out with everything from quitting the cigs to navigating the thousands of products being sold by hundreds of vendors. If you need anything, just ask. Someone will be glad to jump in with an answer. Good Luck, and Happy Vaping!!!1 point

It takes a couple months to really get the lungs clear. Until then, its cough-central. Keep experimenting, and hopefully your friend keeps at it. All will be right in the end!!!1 point -
I too coughed like that my first day or so. All I could hit was menthol. After a day or so the cough went away and I was able to hit different flavors. After a week I could hit anything and as much as I wanted. Just have him take it slow and let his lungs get used to it for a few days................1 point

All great advice. Thank you to all. We're looking in to it. I think it's a combination of a lot of these and mostly maybe psychological. Well we're going to try and play around with flavors and mixes and see what we can do. He's willing to try. Plus he's motivated. Another friend has been off ciggys for almost 2 weeks now. It's a regular epidemic, lol. Since my wife and I started almost 2 months ago now, we have recommended the e-cig to 13 people, all friends and acquaintances. Of those 13 over half are full vapers now, others have cut way back and only one has fully reverted back to cigs.1 point

When I first started vaping I too had a hard time with certain flavors my lungs weren't used to, but after a small learning curve, now a walking fog machine!! If your using a VV you might try turning it down some, also try using a device that's more airy (protanks) than a tight draw(vivis).......1 point

Pre Filled Cartomizers
CascadianExotics reacted to Uma for a topic
It never hurts to have a few pkgs of prefilled cartos at the ready, not only for self on a chaotic day/week, but also for the curious who might want to try out your vape experience to see if it's for them or not before they buy. EcigXpress.com has a nice selection of prefilled cartos. I really like their Honey Flu Cured Tobacco n the prefilled, but you might detest it, we are all such different individuals! They have a nice line of tasty juices too. They also sell the liquid for refills. Refills are easy to do. I use to refill all my empties once a week while watching a tv show. (I hardly ever use carto's anymore, have moved on to other delivery systems, but I would still do it this way if I still did it). Good luck! Oh! and just remember that sometimes, the prefilled cartos will last 3-6 hours, and sometimes they only last an hour. You'll need backups for your backups.1 point -
Looking for a new unit

I have never owned a Mod, not sure I ever will. I am only chiming in to second the Vision Spinner recommendation. I love my spinners. My eGoT 1000mah instantly became backups. Charging time is about 4.5hours for me pretty consistently and I vape all day and night but find 2 is plenty for me. Having access to a charging area at work helps since no matter if I am home or at work I can charge one as soon as it dies and switch to the other. The battery life for me is around 28-36hours depending on what I am vaping and the settings I use. I prefer 3.5-3.8v for fruit flavors and around 4.2-4.4 for my Tobacco flavor and Spearmint all with 1.8-2.2ohm Kanger T2s.1 point -
There are a ton of new VV and VV/VW mods out on the market today. I can't keep up with them. Some of the more popular (affordable) ones are the Vamo V2, the Tesla, the Evic, and so on. I have the Vamo V2, and it's okay, but the settings aren't lockable like the old original LT were but the Tesla has the locking settings and a super easy menu. (but the menu button placement is annoying). And my 510 connection needs to be gently lifted often in order to make a solid connection. I agree with Tams, the Vision Spinner is great, and is super affordable at that. It hits just as hard, if not harder than most "mods" out there. It does take a long time to charge though, so be sure you have at least 2... you know the drill. The Provari is still King of the high end VV mods. There are now DNA20 kick mods out there now too. (usually box form). (quite a bit more power than the old DNA12). I would pick up the Vision Spinners and contentedly vape while researching all the new mods out there that tickle your fancy.1 point

I've gotta say my Vamo(s) are quite nice. Can take a beating and are at a such a low cost, but Lava Tube v2 and Provari's are reliable and come with a year warranty I believe. Both come at a higher cost though.1 point
-
Vv are nice when new but don't always last.. I only had 1 and my wife went thru 4. She is tuff on them tho. Mech mods will take more abuse I believe. I bought her a legacy mod n she loves it. There's some nice high end vv but I don't want to risk spending 200$ for my wife to destroy it. If combine a mech mod with the rite tank u can find great vapes to last a long time.1 point

Me too. I have been baffled by this. Even from the person sitting next to me, lol. I thought about this when I posted my review on vape dudes. I was just excited to finally get some great flavors after trying bunches. Honestly I feel bad if someone takes my word and then finds they hate it although based on what I've tried I find that hard to believe. But it really is subjective and amazingly so. However I just cracked open the Island Coconut from Vapedudes and I will update my review just to be complete. Hint: cue ukelele..1 point

Hey, long time no see! For the longest time I've been stuck on Vision Spinners. These are variable voltage devices much like the eGo Twist except you can see the numbers easily and clearly. Many really like the 1300 mAh version but I'm more partial to the 900 mAh. These have been extremely reliable and work great.1 point

I mean to me traditional tobacco from my supplier is exactly like an analog or very close at least to me. On another forum there is a 6 page thread bashing it as nothing like tobacco. And I mean forum reviews not the reviews on the supplier sites as they are vetted before posting and can be manipulated.1 point
