I can't tell you how many hours I've spent researching and reading e-cigs and related material since I quit 6 weeks ago. I have been absorbed in it, frankly. Yesterday was the first time I went back to the liquor store where I usually buy my analogs. He hasn't seen me or my wife for over a month. I had to break the news. I don't smoke anymore. Just for a second, his face dropped. He had already reached for my cigs. I told him I was seeing someone else, that i was vaping. He nodded and pointed out the little 505 stick on the shelf and I pulled out my eGo. His eyes widened up. He had that look in his eye like 'you'll be back'. I promised him we could still be friends and I'd stop in once in a while. I paid my $6 for a drink and snack. I used to drop $30 - $50 at a time there every few days. Wow. Ok, it was harder for him than me.3 points

Hello - I've been a smoker 30 plus years.... about 8 years ago I stopped buying brand name smokes and have been "rolling my own" pipe tobacco instead of cigarette tobacco - to cut the cost down, but get my fix. I went into my local tobacco shop two weeks ago and asked the woman about the ecigarettes. She said she wouldn't let me buy the ones that were in the case and told me to wait until she received the "real" ones. She's been there since the place opened and is always sweet and personable... so I trust her... the e-cigarettes I were pointing out were 2.99 each and she said they junk........ I went back in Tuesday afternoon. I bought my pipe tobacco and tubes with no intent of quitting. I bought her suggestion of a "Krave" disposable, was AMAZED. I went back and picked up the starter kit, when the battery went out - I did smoke a few cigarettes - after using the disposable - so about 5 on Tuesday, about 4 on Wednesday. This morning will be 24 hours without one. This is indescribable as to how this is working on me. I bought a second starter kit because they don't have a "second" battery separately and I would rather use this than to actually smoke. Anyone wanting to know if this works, well... I've been called a professional smoker by co-workers over the years. From just wanting to "try" it - to not smoking within a couple days is hard to describe. I've been through this board and love it, learned a lot in the past couple days from your posts, and so those who want to know what I'm using: Krave 1001 starter kit - 1.8 nicotine - the lady at the smoke shop said I'd like 'em and she's right. I haven't got the hang of how long they'll last me per filter yet, but this is amazing. I wan't intending to quit. I've been thinking about it for years and tried the patch about 10 years ago. That lasted two weeks. I hope to be smoke free and never going back as of yesterday at noon. I'm liking this A LOT ! ! ! ! ! ! ! My wife is doing it also - she's not had a cigarette since Tuesday night. WOW ! ! !2 points

4 Years vaping
DarthVaper reacted to kitsune for a topic
It is so incredibly hard to believe it has been 4 years since I found ecigs and stopped smoking. I was one of the lucky ones, I got my first 510 on May 21st 2009 and had my last cigarette on May 22nd 2009. When I found vaping, I had 100% quit quitting. I tried ecigs to get my mother off my back....that was that. So much has changed in the last 4 years. When I started, we only had a couple choices...510 or 901....black or white. we only had traditional cartridges. we only had a few vendors to choose from in the US, everything else was in china. I also discovered the world of forums (I had never even read a forum). Vapor talks and all the amazing people here are a big part of my journey. Thank you Chris for providing such an amazing place for information, support and friendship And a huge thanks to all the veteran Vaper Talk friends that have been such an incredible support and source of laughter1 point -

Last week our faithful cat for 21 years, got the call.... I broke down and went to my analog store, The cigarette king, owner had a carton on the counter and I had to say no, just a pack, and told him my vaping experience... He pulls a tray out of the display case and he's selling generic ego sets, juice, and ce4s.......I smoked one analog, coughed like a fool, and threw the rest away...$6.19!1 point

Like all things in like, there may or may not be unknown risks. Inhaling anything or putting any type of chemicals into your body is never 100% safe. With vaping, it is still new enough to not know all the possiblities. Personally, its significantly safer than smoking. when you consider all the chemicals in cigarettes as compared to those found in vaping....hands down vaping wins. I know for a fact, that I feel better than I ever did when I was smoking.1 point

Lemme know how the cable goes Uma! I saw that about the Mesh store, probably a good idea to split up their vape stuff from the other stuff. I ordered several sheets of their mesh so i'm set for quite awhile lol1 point -
Just a new member, love what I've seen and learned over the past couple days!

Yea at first I thought the NJoy disposables and the little overpriced 808 kit from the mall were awesome, then I found this forum and it opened my eyes a lot lol. Not only were the good ones miles above the others, they were cheaper than the crappy 808 mall kit.1 point -
V2 Tank won't vape?

Brian at Veteran is my go to guy for all my hardware needs except Vision Spinner batteries but we had an email conversation last night and I think he is getting them soon. I am picky about my liquids but you will not find a better source for hardware than him. I use the T2 exclusively and I ordered more from him Sunday and they arrived today. Best customer service of any site I use for any need, just hooked on Sweet-Vapes and VapeDudes liquid. Going to try some of his EVO liquid next order and check it out. He will answer and question very quickly which he did last night with me. He makes you feel good to but from him!1 point -
side effects.....
Uma reacted to bcartervol98 for a topic
In two weeks I will have recouped my entire investment in money saved from analogs and medication I no longer need. Thing is none of the ingredients in eliquid is inherently harmful. Since I stopped smoking I can smell, sinus problems are gone, my anxiety meds have been cut in half, and I feel a ton better. I am not a medical expert but have some doctors and dentists in the family that are thrilled I have made the change. My wife took a Sudafed 24 hour every day and if she missed she would be miserable. It has now been 10 days since she needed it. Nothing short of amazing for me and I am only 30 days in! Is it as healthy as nothing at all, probably not but there are no known carcinogens and heated vapor is in itself not harmful to the lungs. Nicotine is on par with caffeine in its effects on the human body. I think if there were an inherent danger the millions of dollars in research big tobacco has done to eradicate the e-cig they would have found it and hired platoons of doctors to back them up.1 point -
You do such nice work, Mark. I'm still planning to get one of your lovelies -- some day -- hopefully soon-ish.1 point

You're welcome, Pope. Glad it's working well for you. The right equipment can make all the difference. I have five packs of analogs in my fridge, it was my safety net -- just in case. Thankfully, I've never needed it, but they do make me smile every time I open the fridge and see them still sitting there even after a year.1 point

Congrats to MSE on his one year!!! And, thanks for the link, Uma!! I just picked up a RSST to go on my new mod, but still need to get mesh and wire. Does anyone have links to a spare tank, o-rings, and other misc. RSST parts?? Honestly, I'm not a fan of the opaque polycarbonate tank it comes with...but, the ease of use was the selling point, so I cannot complain too much.1 point -
Just to the right of the "Juice" it searches this forum. example: click search, type "how to fill a cartomizer" you get lots of different posts and choose the one you want.1 point

Congrats. We just had another in March. Good luck with the pregnancy. We'll keep you up to date with all the latest and greatest!1 point -
Nobody here is qualified to give medical advice. My point of view is that even if there are unseen side effects, I'm sure it would be no worse than almost two packs a day. That does not mean they are safe but considering the alternative I'll take my chances.1 point

Cool article with a lot of misspelled words! I particularly liked that steampunk mod, and I found a picture of some of them on a site called "vapeporn.com". Anyone heard of it?1 point
