I got my reply yesterday and the new cap is on it's way for Monday or Tuesady. Here was his reply on the spring and if there were any wires: The spring in the mod is not a "hot spring". But we do know that if the mod does get hot enough, the spring will collapse (completely flatten out). If you wanted a hot spring, I believe that AltSmoke sells them but they are a little small in diameter for the Stinger. It will slide in and out of the mod easily when you remove your battery. Also, there is no wiring in the mod. The button is directly soldered to the positive inside the cap and the negative comes from the spring in the bottom of the mod. It sounds like mcquinn (thank you, sir) knows some things about IMR's that I did not. He is correct that the 26650 does have a large flat top positive contact. Hopefully, having the kick instead of the rubber/brass spacer plug saves the new button. I tested the 26650 in the tube and the positive post does not touch anything when i attach the kick housing, it will only be touching the kick. Any other last minute precautions I should be aware of before the cap arrives?? And yes, Uma, I will be charging the battery before using again thanks to you!! I got a lot of goot info in this thread so thanks for all the help.1 point

That's the great thing.. it doesn't matter. If you put it in VW mode you find the wattage that's good for you and that's it. Any resistance topper you put in will vape at the same (roughly) voltage output. I keep mine around 8W.1 point

Bakery flavors are a nice change of pace. Pineapple upside-down cake from Sweet-Vapes is very tasty. Other good flavors are Apple Pie, Cinnamon Danish, Bavarian Cream, and a whole lot of Coffee variations just to name a few. Also, you have to keep trying different tobacco flavors from different suppliers and you might find a few more that you really like and you know you can always go back to turkish or ry4 later. A flavor might seem different to you after a long time without it and it fun to go back to one from before. I don't know about you but I can't live with just one flavor. I usually have 2 or 3 e-cigs with me at all times not only for backup but for a flavor choice. I do vape the tobacco flavors the most but I couldn't go without some of the exotic ones. Don't hesitate to try anything, you just might like it.1 point

Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
Tam reacted to CascadianExotics for a topic
Personally, I believe "dry-burning" is mostly used when employing RBA SS mesh wick setups. As Tam pointed out, dry-burning a clearo is risking a burnt flavor. When I clean my clearomizer, I do the following method religiously: 1) remove, rinse, and dry the drip tip. 2) remove, rinse, and dry the tank. 3) remove the head. Remove the silicone piece. Rinse, and pat-dry the whole assembly with a paper towel. 4) rinse and dry the base. 5) re-assemble the base with the head minus the silicone piece. 6) attach the base + head to the battery / mod, and pulse-fire a few times until the internal coil and wick is dry....this takes some practice, but you'll figure it out soon enough. 7) re-assemble the clearomizer unit, and fill with your favorite liquid. 8) wait five minutes, and enjoy a vape!!! Normally, I use a paper towel, along with blowing air thorough the hollow parts to dry everything on the unit. Once you find your groove, then these steps can be accomplished in 5 minutes or less. Hope this helps!!!1 point -

The first two go--go batteries I bought finally bit the dust after only two and half years (that is an estimated time but I think it is pretty accurate). I will be ordering two more the first of the month. While I have many mods, this is the one that I enjoy the most!1 point

They really did a good job and I have an adapter to put on the vamo and Lava Tube so that I can use the go-go carts, so I am good to go..1 point

To prevent coil burnout, "safe" vaping occurs between 4.5 and 8 watts. If you want to know where to set your voltage, just find the square root of the product of the wattage you desire times the carto/atty/tank's resistance. For example, if you want to vape at 8 watts, and have a 2Ω cartomizer, just multiply 8 by 2, and you get 16. The square root of 16 is 4. You need to set your variable voltage device at 4 volts to achieve 8 watts. Using your 2.4Ω heads, 8 watts will occur at 4.4v on your PV (2.4 x 8 = 19.2...the square root of 19.2 is slightly less than 4.4...4.38 actually). It sounds like a lot of math, but it gets easy once you've done it a couple of times. If math isn't your strong suit, by all means, use a calculator, or just click here.1 point

Oops. No. Sorry! I got this thread confused with the direct dripping one. These are direct dripping atomizers. Brian has the 1.8 ohm Vivi Nova coil here: http://www.theveteranvaper.com/vision-vivi-nova-long-wick-replacement-coil/ The Veteran Vaper store is excellent and the customer service is even better! Sorry about the mix up but are you sure you don't want to try direct dripping? You can actually change flavors easier this way.1 point

If you wanna try some good drip atties that won't break the bank, VapeLite.info has Boge 510 atomizers in standard and low resistance for $3.50...that is if Tameiki hasn't bought up all their stock in one whack again. Shipping on small orders is currently $31 point

Note that some drip shields are ego threaded so pick which device you will be using unless you don't mind seeing the threads (or using a thread sleeve) on yer ego.1 point
