Okay, let's see if I can do this right. This first pic is (from left to right), Vision Spinner 1300 mAh with Empire Mod drip shield, universal drip tip with a regular drip tip on top. The next two are both Spinners of the 900 mAh and same set up. The blue one is an eGo 650 pass through and same set up. The black drip shield is a new addition from Empire Mods that I just got. This next pic is without the drip shields or drip tips And this one has two drip tips The second from the left's atomizer is a 1.8 ohm 510 atomizer that I got from my local brick and mortar store. All the other atomizers are the Boge 2.0 ohm from Vapelite. As you can see I'm a little partial to the Vision Spinners. I do have a 1100 Twist that I use on the go but prefer the Spinners for direct dripping because I can actually see what volt I'm at without having to go to extreme measures. Oh. And the first two from the left I'm using ECBlend's Feels Like a Nut flavor alternating with their Chocolate Malt, Vanilla Malt and/or Dulce de Leche. The Spinner with the blue drip tip is the blueberry flavor alternating with Strawberry Shortcake. The blue eGo battery is the tropical punch alternating with Dragon's Blood.2 points

This thread came about at the suggestion of some other forum members. Not spamming or anything of that nature. If you don't care for it, hit your back button now! Mt Baker Vapor has some juice that a portion of the proceeds go to help someone in need. I'm not sure on the ratio of proceeds that go towards this but i thought it was a good enough reason to grab some juice and help someone out. Hopefully someone from Mt Baker will chime in with some more info. The juice in question is Moo Juice This right here is enough to keep me buying juice from Mt Baker. Happy Vaping!1 point

Bat volts vs coil head ohm
Tam reacted to 2bsmoke4ee for a topic
Ah ok... Yes I used to drip when I first started with the LR atomizer, and I loved it. Just couldn't do the constant dripping every few hits.. But it's a great vape! Wish I would have known about Brians site earlier, I would have ordered the 1.8 heads. I just ordered five 2.4 heads, but with the variable voltage on the new bat I'm hoping for a decent vape with them. But thanks a bunch for your help and supplying those links, appreciate it! I bookmarked Brians site. ;-)1 point -
To prevent coil burnout, "safe" vaping occurs between 4.5 and 8 watts. If you want to know where to set your voltage, just find the square root of the product of the wattage you desire times the carto/atty/tank's resistance. For example, if you want to vape at 8 watts, and have a 2Ω cartomizer, just multiply 8 by 2, and you get 16. The square root of 16 is 4. You need to set your variable voltage device at 4 volts to achieve 8 watts. Using your 2.4Ω heads, 8 watts will occur at 4.4v on your PV (2.4 x 8 = 19.2...the square root of 19.2 is slightly less than 4.4...4.38 actually). It sounds like a lot of math, but it gets easy once you've done it a couple of times. If math isn't your strong suit, by all means, use a calculator, or just click here.1 point

Dripping set-up

So i took Tameiki's advise and ordered some 2 ea. BOGE 510LR +-2.0 OHM ATOMIZER 2 ea. BOGE 510 +-3.0 OHM ATOMIZER (black) gonna give this a try i have a drip sleeve and a drip tip coming so i guess my next question is will i need one for each new flavor i know with mu cartos and clearos that if you use two different flavors it seems you cant get rid of them lol1 point -
100% agree. I recently just started vaping and started slim. 650mah twist, 2 mini novas and 1 charger. In the course of a week, in which i was awaiting my backups, i was nervous something was going to break, burn up or run out of juice! Since then i have purchased multiples of everything. Vision Spinner 1300mah, IClear30, 2 Vision nano's and 3 Kanger EVOD's. The nano's are fabulous for tasting juice as they are fairly small capacity and bottom coil so a coupla drops and you can taste away! The EVOD's are just fabulous imo. I got my first one thursday night and immediately ordered two more after using it half the day friday. Don't forget the juice! I also went on a juice spree this weekend, 354ml enroute to my location for vapor induced goodness! Tam's got another nugget of brilliance in there as well. Instead of swapping cleaning everytime you want to swap flavors, by having multiple backups you can have a couple tanks/cartos/clearomizers hanging out ready to rock! Happy Vaping!1 point

I didn't...not this time. lol Looks like they still have 9 more in the 2.0 ohm low resistance atties. Like Rixter said I'm very partial to the Boge 2.0 ohm atomizers. Add an Empiremods eGo drip shield and a 510 drip tip and you're in business. These atomizers come with a "drip tip" type of top so you don't need to get a drip tip unless you want to. The tip that comes with this atomizer is pretty good because it doesn't let the juice come back up into your mouth when you take a drag.1 point

If you wanna try some good drip atties that won't break the bank, VapeLite.info has Boge 510 atomizers in standard and low resistance for $3.50...that is if Tameiki hasn't bought up all their stock in one whack again. Shipping on small orders is currently $31 point

Ok Uma, thanks, you really gave some great input!! My spring is silver in color and can easily pull out with needle nose pliers. Altsmoke seems to be out of SB/Omega hot springs but I found one for a heliX: http://www.avidvaper.com/products/HeliX-hot-spring.html They look the same in the pics but wanted to check here. Found one for a ProVari too but it looks too thin for my mod. I emailed the company to ask about the hot spring and if it's a true mechanical mod or not. I'll keep you posted when I hear back.1 point

The Twist and the Vision Spinner are much the same battery. The main difference I've found is that you can actually *see* the numbers and where the indicator is with the Spinner. I would suggest that. Right now I have one of my Spinners topped with a 1.8 ohm atomizer. I like to start on the lowest setting and gradually up the voltage so I don't pop the atty with a too high voltage right at the beginning. My sweet spot with this particular juice I'm using now is right around 4.3 volts. My two cents. YMMV1 point

I agree, re the delrin and the looks both. I am putting this at top 10 spot on my neverending shopping list.1 point

Yes, it is. That should help to keep things cooler on the lips than with the metal drip tips I've used on my RBA...metal tips get really hot. Plus, as I mentioned earlier, the casing is aluminum. I've seen several bullet tips online, but this one seems to be the most realistic looking.1 point

Thanks mcquinn, how does the battery hit ground and positive post at the same time?? The way these mods work is there is a threaded connector that you screw into the tube after you put in the 26650 battery. The connector houses the kick but since i had no kick I install a rubber spacer with a brass plug that connects the battery to the cap. So this rubber/brass plug was sitting on my battery at the time I am screwing on the cap. It never was a problem attaching it like this before the button blew the first time. Nor do I know what caused the button to blow out when it did the first time. The second time it blew, they offered me a refund but I really love this mod and willing to try again. So my logic was to add the kick for the short circuit protection. Thanks again Uma, I am not sure how the spring is attached to the bottom, I will check it out and get back to ya. Do you recommend that I still need to replace the spring even after I add the kick??1 point

I've been eyeballing these 9mm drip tips for a while. Finally bought one tonight from HotVapes.com for $16.90 shipped, using coupon code Swisher6 for 10% off. It's got a delrin "bullet" in an aluminum casing. I think it'll look pretty menacing on my AGA-T+...make that an AGA-T2 (yeah, I bought the glass tank for it from MVS, too).1 point

We use to have a great video chat here. As many as 9 people could be on cam at once, and there was still a txt chat to go with it. It was "THE" place to be on Fri and Sat nights. Joe2003 can vouch for that. Not exactly sure what cause it to disband. We just sorta dropped out of sight. People move on and start doing other things, lives change etc. I do miss it tho...made a lot of good friends here and I'm sorry it came to an end. Would be nice to try and get things back together again.1 point

Thanks so much, Uma, for your reply. I was using a Bombshell Stinger and an atty wasn't even screwed into the connection. I literally take it out of the package, screw it on to the tube and it's blown already. No vaping, no atty, just battery and cap, that's it. Just wanna make sure it doesn't happen again when i get my replacement. Not sure how I could mess it up just screwing it on for the first time.1 point

Thank you, Lyrical! So far so good. The surgeon is cautiously optimistic that they got it all. We'll know more in six months' time.1 point

*UPDATE* As luck would have it, the spare O-rings that came with my AGA-T PLUS Rebuildable Atomizer from MyVaporStore.com work perfectly as spacers to extend my Telescope mech mod just enough for my Trustfire Protected 18650 3000mAh (ButtonTop) battery to fit and work properly. MyVaporStore.com sells the Spare O-Rings for the AGA-T Plus for 50¢ each. Two AGA-T+ top-cap O-rings, one at each end = Victory!!!1 point

Good for you! I just went over and bought a 30 ml bottle of Moo Juice from Mt. Vapor Baker. My mother is recovering from cancer surgery right now. Even though she didn't have breast cancer I know how every little thing helps. How about making a separate post with this information on it? Others might see it more easily that way.1 point

I didn't really buy it for the taste, to be honest i wasn't even sure what the taste was until i just looked at it. The reason i bought it was this - Just trying to help someone out. Every little bit helps and i think its great that a small company is doing what they can. From the descriptions in reviews, it looks like strawberries n cream. Tacky as it is, i actually have one of them ribbons that is pink and says save the ta-ta's!1 point

Wella huloo and welcome!! Here's what I use: 1300mah Vision Spinner and Vivi Nova and some Nanos when I go out Variable Voltage Passthrough with Kanger MT3 and some other Nanos at home Bombshell Stinger with carto-tank, soon to upgrade to an iClear 30 Direct Dripping at different resistances to sample new flavors... Personal favorite juices are Vanilla-X, Pina Colada, and RY4. Especially sample some RY4 if you were a newport smoker, other 'newport-ers' I've spoken with tend to like it. And goot luck on your journey!!1 point

Empire Mods has just added two new drip shields specifically made so they hide the threads on an eGo battery. I just ordered one of each.1 point
-
Couldn't be happier with it. It's the cheapest one I could find, but it's machined from stainless steel, not stamped metal, and works flawlessly (what could go wrong with a mod that has zero circuitry?).1 point

The Ginger's RY4 is excellent. So is the TVR RY4. The Ginger's is a little sweeter, and the TVR has more tobacco flavor. Both are keepers. The most surprizing thing (to me) is how much I enjoy the Sweet Tarts juice. It does taste just like Smarties...I know this because I ran out and bought some Smarties just to check. It seems that it's made its way into my daily rotation now, but not as an all-day vape.1 point

Bump Everytime You Buy Something New

Just picked up one of these cases: http://www.vaultz.net/specialty-cases/vaultz-vz01359-black-medicine-case.html Picked it up at a local vapor meet for a dollar less then listed price. I'm loving it so far because the case can stand on it's side, keeping my finicky clearomizers standing straight up.1 point -
This week, I bought one Trustfire Protected 18650 3000mAh (ButtonTop) from SureVapes.com for my mech mod. $9.99 shipped. Click here for some test results. I also picked up another Kanger EVOD clearomizer (stainless steel), three 2.2Ω replacement EVOD atties, and a glass tank for my AGA-T+...all from GotVapes.com. $18.29 shipped.1 point

Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
Tam reacted to CascadianExotics for a topic
A drip tip is just a mouthpiece you put onto an atomizer, cartomizer, or tank setup. Some people can drip into the drip tip itself and hit the coil on their drip atomizers, but I'm not that talented, LOL!!! Honestly, if I knew when I started what I know now (all 2 1/2 months ago)....I'd probably have told myself to do what I did anyways. There's a learning curve everyone has to go through, and no one singular magic "setup" that will work for everyone right out of the gate. Start Simple, and Upgrade Later!!!! There are a ton of setups and methods out there. My suggestion is to do your homework, and go for what you think will give you the best chance of success....even if that means waiting a month, and ordering more than what you will end up needing. You can always take your unwanted stuff, and pay it forward by giving it to someone who wants to quit smoking, and guide them through the steps. Oh, also you will need backup equipment. So, whatever you order, get double. That way, you'll never be left high and dry, ready to go back to analogs while waiting for replacement gear.1 point -
I've used the Twist for a long time and just recently got a Spinner. They work and feel exactly the same right down to the button and they use the same charger. The Spinner is a little smaller for same amount of mah which is a plus. Also it is much easier to read the numbers(volts) on the Spinner. The starter kit that Jeff pointed out is really good, vaping doesn't get much better than that. I use that setup regularly.1 point

Last weekend, I ordered my first mech mod...a Telescope from VariTube.com. I've been looking for a good price on a fully mechanical mod for a little while now, and <$40 seemed good enough for me. I'm really looking forward to this one.1 point

I find it much easier to go without vaping at work than when I used to smoke. I vape much less than I used to smoke at work but about the same or maybe a little more when I'm not so it's about even for me. At work I need to use both hands most of the time and with cigarettes, I could just have one hanging in my mouth at any time but it's hard to do that with an eGo and I don't feel the need to vape as much as I felt the need to light up.1 point
