Tried my best friend's eVic tonight while we were out for sushi. This thing is freaking awesome. Set it for 10v and it spews out vapor like a VW Bug with no muffler. It's really cool how you can dial in the settings just the way you want. Highly recommended.3 points

Empire Mods does! http://www.empiremods.com/product_p/egodc.htm I've got the purple one and it matches the purple spinner well. Oops. Need to add that it's a purple drip shield cone. Hope that's also okay.2 points

I just picked up a purple spinner, a purple mt3, two mt3 replacement coils, a black svt nova, a 510 to ego adapter and another metal drip tip. The spinner and mt3 is for the Ms.2 points

If I were to buy a kit knowing what I know now I would pick up the vision spinner kit sold over at myvaporstore.com. It's like 65 I think. That would be a great start. Those batteries are great and will easily last all day. Juice can be found at many places. I like pink spot and the vapor room. There are literally too many to list. Good luck!2 points

Since analogs have been around for so long, there has been a lot of testing done on nicotine content vs. absorbtion. The accepted rule of thumb seems to be that each analog contains about 5mg of nicotine and approximately 1mg is absorbed through the smoking process. (can't accredit this) For me, that meant when i was smoking 30 cigarettes a day, I was absorbing approximately 30mg of nicotine through smoking. Now, as a vaper, I usually vape about 3-4ml of 12mg juice daily. That equates to about 36-48mg of nicotine intake daily. Based on this I figured that I was virtually 'no worse off' even if almost all the nicotine ingested was absorbed. The question I have always had is 'how does absorbtion with ecigs compare to analogs?'. At a vape meet last year, I had the opportunity to broach that question with Kurt Kistler (AEMSA subject matter expert) a chemist with experience in ecigs and nicotine. According to my conversation with him, his professional opinion is that the way ecigs are designed (to maximize vapor production) is not the most condusive to nicotine absorbtion and that only approximately 10% of the nicotine is absorbed. Now, this is one person's opinion and I know of no specific scientific studies to back this up ......but WOW! If that is even close to accurate that means i am only absorbing approximately 3-5mg of nicotine a day! Far less than with analogs and giving potential additional credence to the Wiki article stating that nicotine intake is the most important thing. Just my $.02 as I celebrate 2 years analog free!2 points

Just gettin' ready for "Rixter's RY4 Shootout". So far, the contestants will be Dekang's RY4, Janty's Elixir PG RY4, Vapor Talk's Dulcis, and Ikenvape's RY4 PG Gold. I'm planning a blind taste test with a few of my vaping friends once everything arrives. Stay tuned...same vape time...same vape station!2 points

Aw, thanks, Rixter. Seriously, though, I wouldn't steer you wrong. They're almost the same color. Your wife is gonna love it.1 point

Long story short I'm not in a place where I can put the pics up on VT but can send you the pics via email. If you'll send me an email to tameiki at gmail.com I'll forward the pics. My cell camera hates me. It makes the first picture look like the drip shield is pink when it's definitely the same color of purple as the Spinner. The second pic is better but still not totally accurate. The colors match *almost* perfectly. There's just a teeny tiny minute difference in shade but it's hardly noticeable the colors are so close. The Spinner's purple is just a touch darker than the shield.1 point

You're doing great, OP. Either one, the Twist or the Spinner is a great choice. The Spinner is larger & lasts longer in between charges, and is easier to read the numbers (except the chrome one is still kinda hard if your eyes are old like mine). The Twist, obviously lol, is shorter, slenderer, but the button placement is a little more comfortable, but not drastically so. You can't go wrong with either one, and when you're ready for backups, just pick up the batteries of the ones you want, without having to get the entire kit, but I must confess, the whole kit comes in handy for traveling and stuff, or if a charger goes bonkers on ya or something.1 point

Best Cherry Flavor
Christopher reacted to Mike for a topic
You can always try to DIY a cherry flavor with no nic. Lorann's cherry flavoring is a little to much like cough syrup so I would try something else. Flavor West has a flavor called Swedish Fish and that one is pretty good. Maybe FlavourArt or Perfumers Aprentice might have a decent cherry flavor. Cherry is a rather strong flavor so I would suggest to start by using about 10% of flavoring and add more later if you think it needs it. The base can be VG and distilled water or PG without nic or a combination of these.1 point -

I don't know how many have hacked it yet (though that would be interesting to see) but I've had mine for some time now and it's become my daily device.1 point -
Just picked up a purple one for the wife.1 point

I replied in your other post. Pick up the vision spinner kit. The twist is a great battery and the spinner is basically the same but you get more bang for your buck. 1300mah will typically last the majority of new vapers the whole day. I would also pick up a vivi nova mini. You could get into cartos and carto tanks but you need to just keep it simple for now until you get into vaping. I would stay away from anything that's pre filled but that's just me. Cartos are the only thing that come pre filled so I wouldn't worry with it. Just get into vaping and you will see there's really nothing to worry about. You, in time, will try many things. Some will be awesome some will be a waste of money. Just get your feet wet in the world of vaping then dive in once you know what you like.1 point

I use the joye ego-t. I like it. It is very customizable. You can use cartomizers, atomizers or clearomizers with it. I have found the atomizers the best for me. I use the type "B" tanks. They sell rubber caps to go with the tanks...I'd recommend them. 5 for $2 or something. They seal around the metal spike in the atomizer better and longer than do the hard plastic caps that come with the tanks. Clearomizers are good too...but they really are one flavor per clearomizer. You of course can refill the clearomizer...and indeed need to do so before the tank gets below 1/4 from being empty...but because of that...you really need to stay the course. A atomizer has a tank insert that can be vaped until 5% left...washed out and then refilled with any flavor you desire.1 point

Know Just Enough To Make A Decision Impossible

I second the Vision Spinner! It has quickly become my favorite. You might want to start out with a 650 mAh or 900 mAh. The bigger the numbers, the longer the charge will last. Keep in mind that the unit itself will also be a little longer. If you go with the 1300 mAh, it's the same length as the 900 but the 1300 is wider. For your first one I'd recommend the 900 mAh. Just my two cents. EC Blends is a favorite of mine to buy juice. You can customize until the cows come home. And maybe then some. They have great flavors and even better customer service! https://www.ecblendflavors.com/1 point -
I'm vaping constantly. It seems like much more so than I smoked. My fiancee and I got small cases for our eCigs to make it a little more like a regular smoking experience. That's helped me curb the urge to have it in my hand or mouth all the time, but I still find myself using it far more often than I would have ever reached for a cigarette. The flip side of it is that you aren't tied to the burn duration of a cigarette. So, you take two to five puffs, set it down and do something else before coming back to it for another two to five puffs. If you set an analog cigarette down for this length of time, it will smoke itself and you wasted a cigarette. Therefore, I'm estimating that overall, I'm likely vaping about the same amount that I actually smoked...it's just that it seems like more because my eCig doesn't waste itself or grow shorter over a period of time.1 point

Jimbo, you've done an amazing job. Hopefully, your Vaping will enable you to replace the symptoms and meds with just nicotin.1 point

So what did you get? A kit? Where from? What liquids/cartomizers did you get with it? This is killing me! I'd love to get started but there is just too much information. So if you are new, trying to quite Tobaccoo and started with an eGo-T, I'll just do what you did if it's working out so far.1 point

Pick up vision spinner battery and something like a vivi nova or carto tank. you can't go wrong that way. I'd also pick up some 18mg juice and you should be in vaping heaven. also 90% of the analog craving is in your head so just tell yourself you're done when the time comes and your vaping away!1 point

I'll have to try one of these. I current'y use an ego c upgrade, which is nice because it has the vv feature that can put out about 3.7 v or the standard constant voltage of 3.3. I'll have to try one these spinners though. I feel like I get enough power from the ego, but there are some tanks and whatnot I'd like to try I know my next purchase!1 point

That is a trick question. There are no cigerettes in a 10 ml bottle of eliquid. That is why we vape it.Doesn't really make a lot of difference ,just vape until you are satisfied and then put it away.1 point

I'm another one that has to see that cloud of vapor to feel satisfied. It never made much sense to me, but I quit trying to figure it out. I just vape on. I easily go through 6ml per day. Usually more. I've even gone through 12ml in a day. I vape almost non-stop most days, but it depends on what I'm doing. I can be busy doing something and notice that I haven't picked up my PV in 3 hours and I'm not craving it either. Seems strange, but then I probably always have been a bit strange. I know that when I smoked, I could not have made it over an hour without a smoke or I would have been pulling my hair out. I know because I tried it when I'd try to quit smoking. I just couldn't do it until I started vaping. Absolutely less nic!!! The nic level doesn't have much to do with my vaping anymore. I vape a lot of 0mg and some 6mg. The coffee flavor I LOVE doesn't come that low, so I get it in 11mg. I don't vape a lot of it because I use it as my "desert" or my "treat". I don't know if it's age or vaping, but I don't seem to get nearly as stressed as I used to. I wonder if it has to do with not having to worry about when or where I can get my next smoke. Maybe because I can vape anytime, anywhere I want to, it keeps me a lot calmer.1 point

My dad, 72, quit smoking cold turkey when he was in his forties. When I turned in my cigs and started vaping, he was curious about it and asked me if they made anything that tasted like cigars but with no nicotine. I told him about some cigar flavored juices I'd heard about that were nic-free, and he now "cigar-puffs" EC Blend's Cuban Gold 0-nic for taste only.1 point

Hopefully Last but not least...... Supplies: 1.Empty dropper bottles- 3ml, 5ml, 10ml sizes are great for mixing. 2. Pipette or syringe with blunt needle. Personally, I prefer using a syringe for mixing--More accurate. 3. paper towel or rag for handling any spills or messes 4. Labels are good for identifying your new mixes. If using paper labels I have found that applying scotch tape over the label keeps the label legible. 5. mixing calculator helps with acheiving the correct nicotine strength. There are other calculators out there, but I like Todd Muellers: http://www.todmuller.com/ejuice/ejuice.php . I usually put my flavor at 30 - 40%. I like lots of flavor. Mixing -can be simple (combining premixed liquids to create a new flavor) or more complicated, mixing from scratch. Or somewhere in between. 1. Always start your mixing or experimentation with small amounts. Its much easier to throw out a small amount of liquid if it turns out bad. The 3ml bottles are great for experimenting. 2. Its a good idea to keep track of what and how much you have added to your mix--just in case you want to make more. **It is easy enough to mix 2 or more premixed liquids together to get a new flavor. This is easiest if you are using the same nicotine strength. i.e.- Tobacco 18mg/Watermelon 18mg/menthol 18mg/pina colada 18mg. The amounts would depend on taste. Start with 5 drops of each in a 3ml bottle, shake and vape--can adjust the flavor as you want by adding more of one of the flavors. with the menthol--using just 1-2 drops/3ml will give a nice cool throat hit without tasting like menthol. ** Can use PG/VG or both to cut a higher strength liquid. i.e.- 24mg premixed liquid 1ml can be mixed with 1ml PG or VG to make 12mg/ml liquid. If cutting a premixed flavor, keep in mind, it will also decrease the flavor. If you don’t want the flavor loss you can cut with 0 nicotine strength in the same or a different flavor. You can also use flavorings to boost the flavor. use the calculator to determine how much PG/VG to use to achieve the desired strength. Just put 0 in the water and flavor boxes. ** Adding Flavoring to premixed liquids This is actually one of the easiest forms of mixing and is a great place to start the DIY journey. We all have flavors we don’t really care for, but by adding flavoring you can create a flavor you like. Keep in mind--when adding flavoring it will dilute the nicotine strength of the premixed liquid. one way around this is to get some unflavored higher nicotine liquid- i.e. 36mg that can be added to your mix to keep the nicotine strength at your desired level. My preferred nicotine level is 12mg/ml--so I will use that dose for mixing examples. i.e.-- cappuccino 36mg/ml, 1.7ml + FlavourArt apple pie flavoring 1.5ml + VG 1.8ml for a total of 5ml 12mg/ml. This is where the calculator comes in handy. Just put in the numbers, hit enter and the calculations are done for you. This is where having a syringe is helpful. However if you are using drops, I have found that 30 drops of PG = 1ml and 20 drops of VG = 1ml. You can use more than one flavoring: cappuccino 1.7ml + apple pie flavoring 1ml + Vanilla 1ml + VG 1.3 ml = 5ml 12mg/ml Don’t be afraid to mix more than one flavor. When cooking, most dishes require more than one flavor to get the right taste. ** mixing from scratch You will need PG and/or VG Unflavored Nicotine liquid ( I usually use 36mg/ml) Flavorings of choice i.e. Easy Watermelon 12mg/ml 3 ml PG or VG 1 ml Lorann Watermelon flavoring 2 drops Menthol flavoring (Flavourart) 2 ml 36mg/ml Unflavored liquid i.e. using multiple flavors: Apple Pie (6ml) 18mg/ml 3 ml 36/mg unflavored 1 ml FlavourArt(FA) Apple Pie 6 drops (Flavourart) Irish Cream 2 drops (FA) perique black (tobacco) 3 drops (FA) menthol .5ml PG .5ml VG 3 drops hazelnut 6 drops vanilla ** Misc Notes Tobacco Flavorings are very, very strong--a little goes a very long way. A couple drops to 5ml will give a nice background flavor. If using more, add a drop or 2 at a time to taste. Lorann flavorings are very concentrated. You would use less Lorann than you would with other flavorings. Avoid flavorings with oils or sugars--both can damage your atomizer. If you find your mix needs to be sweeter there are a couple of options: 1. Loranns cotton candy or Marshmallow flavorings are great for adding sweetness. 2. DIY flavor shack carrys Eythol Malto which is a sweetener. 3. I actually prefer the Lorann--overall sweeter tasting. 4. I add a few drops of Menthol to all my mixes-adds a cool throat hit and enhances the flavor. Just a little does not taste like menthol. If you like menthol, just add more. 5. always start mixing with small amounts and keep track of what and how much. 6. For taste testing--dripping works best. Mixing is a lot of trial and error in the beginning. Add flavoring a little at a time until you find the balance you like will help keep waste to a minimum. I am hoping others will be able to add their tips and ideas. the above is just my own opinion and my own experience. If all or part of this is confusing please let me know-writing documents is not my strong suit !!!! Merry Mixing1 point
